#65 mharper42, Nope you haven’t caused me to overdo on the keyboard. It just takes a lot longer in my somewhat confined state. Looks like the swelling in my fingers is going down, likely owing to the workout they got today. Can be confident I have 1.5 hands working now.

I dipped my toe in the FB world after the great LST fall, way too busy for me.

The key is to immediately block all those silly applications so you never see ’em. As soon as someone’s farm/pet/pizza whatever pops up I go to the application page and block it.

#56 M42 How’s the repair job coming along, Bob? The Rhodes, I mean. Slow but steady. I’ve performed the torch tuning technique on three notes so far. There’s three mechanical adjustments that interact with each other, and must be made after the tine/tone bar assembly is removed. Once I’m confident that I’m doing them right I’ll tackle the other 5… Read more »

Oh my, BJP is spamming emails now. Between Newt, Sarah, Dan Patrick and David Dewhurst I have a hard enough time getting thru it.

As far as I know American Woman is well and has been active on her facebook account for quite some time, doing the same high-quality research she did for her LST comments. I miss her, too. I don’t do facebook.

Watch Sarah Palin bag a caribou.

Then watch “Uncle Ted’s” video response: “Davy Crocket, Daniel Boone and Sarah Palin, baby. The trifecta of hands-on conservation, baby.” LOL!

Just in case anyone is wondering if the Galeria is still intact, here is an update. I have just returned from my yearly trek to the Mecca of Houston malls. Traffic still sucks, parking still sucks, walking around three expanded levels of the mall still sucks, listening to my daughter complain that she can’t find the perfect widget for Christmas… Read more »

#55 mharper42. I’m still here and reading. It was 34 this morning at 6 and light frost since it was so dry. I’m cheating on what I’m doing with the recovering arm. The new wrap had my hand turned just about palm up, and I’m nudging it more toard palm sorta facing sideways with a hint of facing downward. Can… Read more »

Let’s see here……. I think, after FIVE YEARS, we’re still paying the freight on all the Katrina refugees. Apparently it’s morphing into a permanent entitlement. Now, we’re extending unemployment benefits from 99 weeks to INFINITY AND BEYOND. WTF is wrong with these people? I don’t think any of those idiots in Washington have come to terms with the concept of… Read more »

Bonecrusher, I mentioned your name and my chiropractor remembered you. “He’s a deep tissue, guy, isn’t he?” he asked. “Yep, and he deep tissued me right in the middle of Bear Creek Park!” He thought that was amusing.

OBAMA RACES TO CUT TAXES BEFORE REPUBLICANS: White House proposes temporary payroll tax reduction. The 6.2% Social Security tax would drop to 4.2% for workers for one year…

So rather than talk about spending cuts, he’s going to reduce the revenue flowing to one of the biggest causes of our debt problem. This just gets more absurd by the day.

But at least you’re consistent.

#36 That’s uninformed, borderline insane, and sounds like the fear mongering lies that drip from the lips of wimpy politicians. Willie doesn’t drive the bus, and for long trips like this one, has two drivers on board.

Besides, I thought you were Hambivilent about plant prohibition.

Bob,
They search for drugs and illegal agricultural products as well. That is part of their job. If you buy a sea turtle shell clock in Matamoros, I would suggest not driving though with that either. I’m not defending the practice, this is what it is. Anybody who drives through these knows it.

Which is more harmful, illegal aliens or a 77 year old stoner?

A 77 year old stoner in a large bus can be a WMD. That’s a bus plunge waiting to happen.

Most of those checkpoints are well within our borders. I go through the one in Sarita several times a year. If you’re a Texan and pull up to one with drugs in your bus, no sympathy from me, Willie.

gto42, despite numerous documented occasions where deputy dawg causes a citizen’s 4th amendment rights to be thrown under the bus (so to speak) and they find nothing, multiple FOIA requests for official statistics on their accuracy are universally denied. These are permanent installations and have been in place for years, hardly a surprise to someone who travels Texas as much as Willie. Yup. First one I remember stopping at was coming back up north out of Big Bend in the early 90s. I was surprised by it back then, but I’m a transplanted Yankee. Any vehicle going through a check point gets a once over from Rin-Tin-Tin. If the dog goes positive, you will be searched. That always made me a bit nervous when going through in a company vehicle I did not usually drive. They are looking for drugs. Usually by the truck load. If they can smell weed without the dog’s help,… Read more »
