Soccer players have a real reputation for drama. Especially when they physically interact with each other on the pitch.
They may be difficult to spot in the real world, but they still leave telltale clues.

While we were out at one of the local TexMex’s last night up on the TV they had the ESPN Kick Ball channel on and after they got done talking kick ball a wimmins softball game was on between the USA and Canada, I noted both teams had mens managers. Does that not tick off the female species?

TGIF Y’all!
I gotta wonder – does Hammy’s Granny (or maybe WordPress?) not like Youtube? Every time a youtube clip is posted by whichever OP in here – it takes forever to load or refuses to at all – upon copying the url to a fresh browser page it loads instantly / normally………….the clip above is a perfect example – I played the entire clip in a separate browser and the version in here never did load during that time -
I’ve never observed that phenomenon.

On the judgemental map the Pretentious Single White People region (very aptly named btw) has encroached considerably into the Always Barrio area. Actually the latter is mostly the old Third Ward. There is still a crack house island of 30s vintage houses between the two at Scott street. Most of the railroad tracks are gone and are now green walking paths. After years of watching bums pushing grocery carts around, seeing the pretentious single white people walking dogs there takes getting used to. Alternating receptionist #2’s sister is one of them. That one certainly fits the description.
-
Alright then.
Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Speaker issue his warrant, directed to the Sergeant-at-Arms, or his deputy, commanding him to arrest and take into custody forthwith, wherever to be found, the body of Lois G. Lerner, and bring her to the bar of the House without delay to answer to the charge of contempt of its authority, breach of its privileges, and gross and wanton insult to the integrity of its proceedings, and in the meantime keep the body of Lerner in his custody in the common jail of the District of Columbia, subject to the further order of the House. While in custody, Lerner shall enjoy no special privileges beyond those extended to her fellow inmates, shall not access any computer or telephone, and shall not be visited by anyone other than her counsel, clergy, physician, or family. -
North Haven, CT – O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., America’s oldest family-owned and operated firearms manufacturer and the largest pump-action shotgun manufacturer in the world, proudly announces the completion of a major expansion at their Maverick Arms, Inc. facility in Eagle Pass, Texas. With the new 116,000 square-foot addition, Mossberg’s manufacturing and distribution capabilities have now increased significantly in Texas. Mossberg’s corporate headquarters and some manufacturing remain in North Haven, Connecticut, where the company has been located since 1919.

#10 – One has to wonder – is this the ‘House equivalent’ of yet another “stern Prez letter”?
Or will there be actual handcuffs and a strip search involved? -
The area on the Judgmental Map that I am curious about is marked “Rapidly declining suburbs”, north of Jersey Village. I rarely go up into that area anymore, but we did look at houses there 20 years ago. I found it nice, but sort of white bread. Last year I had an errand up Jones Road and I was stunned to see so much deterioration on that previously prosperous boulevard. Like the huge Randall’s at Jones & West was boarded up!
Based on who is moving into my small subdivision whenever a house is up for sale, the decline is probably due to too many hispanics. A lot were cleared out here by the subprime foreclosures, but building up again. -
Don’t know about the strip search part of it, but it looks like the House is planning and is able to arrest, take into custody, and imprison Ms. Lerner unless and until she becomes a little more cooperative.

Randall’s has closed several stores in the last couple of years. I never really cared much for them, but since they got bought out by Safeway, they have declined significantly. -
So…
From the map, it would seem that hamous is a pretentious white cracker type person who loves trains and may need easy access to some cheap smack.

And I thought Hammy lived in the label “barrioland”. But it is close to trains. Heck, Hammy has even admitted here that he rides the train to church.

Another Randall’s, one that I used to shop at, apparently closed because of demographic tipping. Rumor said it was Katrina refugees who had been settled en mass in old apartment buildings within walking/biking distance of that store. There is still one Randall’s doing fine that is close enough I could shop there, and I sometimes do. Doesn’t seem to me the chain as a whole is in trouble. -

[Faeces] getting realer up in here?
Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and a group of House lawmakers are building a case for impeaching Attorney General Eric Holder.
“Impeding justice is intolerable and he should not be permitted to refuse the American people a true investigation into the actions of those who used the machinery of government to target, intimate, and silence them for politically driven reasons,” Cruz said during a June 26 floor speech.
Cruz had made such comments before, but this speech was different. He spent 40 minutes laying out the case for Holder’s impeachment — spending the bulk of that time on the IRS scandal, but also citing the Justice Department’s failure to enforce various laws, the department’s Operation Fast and Furious, and Holder’s role in the administration obtaining journalists’ phone records. -
Good morning Hamsters. Wow, 70 this morning at 6 and verging on delightful.
David Paul last night unleashed news of the summer polar vortex prediction, and his map showed cool air coming lots farther south than the first announcement of it by the weather service. He said there was no certainty it would get this far south, but stay tuned. Seems to me something already got this far south with that 70 out here on the moors of the Brazos at Richmond and low 70s morning temps before that.
When spouse was in grad school in the late 60s we had a frost around Madison on July 4th and went on a picnic at a state park with another grad student couple later in the day. We were wearing jackets and generally bundled up. It was dank and overcast. Mayhap the upper Midwest is in for something like that next week. But of course that was part of the prelude to the Global Cooling mania of the 70s by the same nuts who now proclaim MMGW. Oh, and Madison had snow one May 11th in the late 60s that stuck around and made a mess of traffic as far south as the Illinois Tollway. -
Go about 40 miles west and it’s labeled Hot, Old White Guys.

#11 Mossberg was always kinda’ the red-headed-step-child of the firearm industry. They made good, reliable, affordable shotguns, pumps mostly but they also made a bunch of bolt action shotguns. I had friends growing up that had .410 bolt action Mossberg’s. They also made a lot of 22’s. Today they make a lot of pumps and a first class bolt action rifle. I bagged my very first deer with my Mom’s 20 gauge Mossberg 500 with the aluminum receiver and factory installed Poly-choke. I was 12 and the only weapon that I owned was a Sears/Stevens 20 Ga single.

#10: I would love to see the squeals of protest from the D pigs when the foul Lerner is finally put in custody. Does anyone question her guilt, I think not. The big question is: how much was the White House involved generally and Bronco specifically and what can be done about it.
I think, in the big scheme of things, about the best we can hope for is to strip the current POTUS of any protections and income derived from his time in office. This can be done by finding him guilty of the high crimes and misdemeanors after he leaves the office. -

When Darrell Issa was asked a question about impeachment of the President after his NYC speech in June, he responded he understood everyone’s intense frustration with Obama, but that in his opinion the most destructive person in the current administration is Eric Holder. Issa and supporters believe it is far more important to at least neutralize his DOJ, if not remove him from office. He believes Obama would be very vulnerable without Holder to protect him and that ultimately an impeachment would be less constructive, if not counterproductive. -

This is just the latest unbelievable statement from the occupied White House that aggressively pegs out my BS-O-Meter.

I guess if by ‘stronger than ever’ you mean a wide open sieve that stops nothing then yes.
-
What killed the romantic comedy?
teh gays, of course -
Actually, in a perverse way, it may be technically true. It could be that the only thing that ever slowed the flow of illegals before was that they thought security was stronger than it really was.
So it could be stronger than what it was (not saying it’s that strong now, but it’s a very low bar), while being very weak. -

I had that same single shot 20 ga.
But I took it hunting instead of my Mom’s gun.
Neener neener neener -
#55 Sarge, I shot many a squirrel and rabbit with that gun, got it when I was 8. I could actually shoot two Quail on a rise with it. I’d put a shell between my fingers on my left hand under the forearm and reload quickly after the first shot. I borrowed my mom’s gun because it was a repeater and held three rounds. So there! 😉
P.S. did yours have the bird dog (setter) engraved on the receiver? -
I don’t recall the engraving. I remember my Dad gave it to me for my birthday (Feb) when I was in the 4th Grade, telling me that I could take it deer hunting with him (my first time) in the Fall. In August, I fell out of a tree and broke both my arms I worried and worried that the casts wouldn’t come off before deer season.
As it turned out, on the first weekend of deer season I still had half a cast on my left arm. I begged and begged to go, and finally Dad relented. We didn’t see any deer, and at the end of the day we were walking out and went past an old car body with a bunch of cans n’ stuff laying around it. Dad and his buddies took turns shooting at them, and I decided I’d take a turn. I couldn’t grab the forearm with my left hand, so I just laid it on top of the cast and popped off a shot.
My Mom gave Dad Holy Hades when we got home cuz of the swollen lip I got when the recoil did what recoil does. -

Limbaugh just took a call from a joint replacement salesman. The salesman advises that a bunch of docs were telling him that Joe Schmoe will come in needing a hip replacement and presents his ObamaCare card. The docs staff calls the insurance company to veryify coverage, which comes back positive. Then the doc does the replacement and bills the ins company only to be told that Joe Schmoe has no coverage. There are two different registeries, apparantly one that confirms that the person signs up and another that confirms that he is ctually paid up and they don’t always match. Guess which one the docs get hooked up with when they try and confirm coverage?
Flat out fraud and the docs are none too happy about it. -

The whole thing has been a lie from the beginning, but many of us knew that….
“Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie,” she confessed.
“The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist,” she said. -
Dave shoots a girl gun.
Ya’ but when you’re 8 years old and weigh 50 lbs soaking wet, a 20 ga is pretty stout. When I got it I wasn’t strong enough to cock the hammer with my thumb so I’d put the butt of the gun on the ground and cock it with the palm of my hand. To break it open or close the breech, I broke it over my thigh, pinched the crap outta’ my leg a few times. Not long after I killed the 6 pointer, when I was 12 my daddy bought me an old High Standard 12 ga gas operated semi-auto with the Cutts Compensator and poly-choke. That gun was just Butt ugly.
When I turned 16, my daddy bought me a brand new Belgian, Browning Auto 5 Light 12. -

It would be FANTASTIC if one of them were to unsuccessfully attempt something during flight. It would very easily mean the end of the whole airport security charade, the whole “they’re only crossing the border for work Americans won’t do” charade, the border has never been more secure charade, and likely the whole ugly charade that is our government. -

Don’t read any further, though, if you haven’t read THIS POST already as background. The issue, remember, is one line in the ObamaCare statute that says subsidies shall be available only to consumers who buy their new health insurance on “an Exchange established by the State.” Thirty-four states refused to build their own exchanges, so the federal government went ahead and built Healthcare.gov for people in those states as a substitute. Question: Is that “an Exchange established by the State”? If not, a lot of people who were counting on subsidies to help pay for their insurance are about to have the rug pulled out from under them. Right, Laurence Tribe?
Harvard legal scholar Laurence H. Tribe (aka TOTUS’s former law professor) warned Tuesday of a “very high risk” that a crucial aspect of Obamacare – its government subsidies provision – could fall victim to a major legal challenge being mounted by conservatives. That is why, he also said, that the Supreme Court will almost certainly get “a second bite of the apple” in determining the fate of President Obama’s signature health law, with uncertain consequences…
Tribe, whose new book, Uncertain Justice, takes a deep dive into the Roberts court, said the plaintiffs make a strong argument. The legislative language is clear, he said, that the subsidies apply to exchanges established by states. Yet in drafting the law, Tribe said the administration “assumed that state exchanges would be the norm and federal exchanges would be a marginal, fallback position” – though it didn’t work out that way for a plethora of legal, administrative and political reasons.
“You could argue that as long as a state triggers it by asking the federal government to come in [and establish insurance exchanges] that it’s a state-established exchange, even though it’s a federally run exchange,” Tribe added. That might give some of the justices who aren’t strict constructionists some leeway in looking beyond the law’s specific language, he said.Obama’s law professor: There’s a “very high risk” that a federal court is going to gut ObamaCare
-
Bronco, singlehandedly by fiat, changed maybe 37 other things that were inconvenient in the Obamacare “law”, so why would this subsidy clause be that big of a deal?

Cassidy Stay has been discharged from Children’s Memorial and is in good condition.
“As a hospital team, we were honored to be able to help care for this brave young woman at her critical time of need. The entire staff at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital has been profoundly touched by Cassidy’s resilient spirit, inner strength, and hopeful heart during this time of indescribable shock and grief,” the hospital said in a prepared statement. “We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to her, and her extended family, as they begin the difficult healing process. The family asks that media please continue to respect their privacy until further notice. They also would like to thank the community, both here in Houston and all over the country, for the outpouring of love and support they have received these past several days.”
As to how and why Cassidy survived the following is new to me:
Investigators say Cassidy Stay saved her own life by deflecting the bullet with her hand. She reportedly lost a finger in the process, but it changed the trajectory of the bullet just enough so that it didn’t do greater damage to her head.
