Thursday “Never Be Alone” Open Comments

Have you ever heard the phrase “There’s someone for everyone”? Well, there’s a place for everyone, too. For example, if you like being tied up in knots, there’s an international guild just for that purpose.
If you like hanging out with dead people, here ya’ go.
Broad swords rule! Well, technically, the king rules, but these dudes aren’t interested in crowns. Unless they’re bustin’ ’em.
These people don’t like fat cats. Literally. Like, no — fat — cats. Or dogs. People they don’t worry about so much. I wonder what they do with pigs?
I’ll bet these people laugh at the fat cat people. Just sayin’.
Camp nurses have an association. Not to be confused with the real ones at the hospital or in the doctor’s office. These probably have to have tweezers on them at all times, to remove ticks. Or baseball bats. To remove boys from girls.
I’m assuming this group doesn’t care about Samoyeds on welfare. Does this make them racist? I think we should worry more about getting people working. Oh, wait, Obama had a council for that. And he disbanded it. I guess we’re stuck working the dogs.
And we have to protect our prehistoric fish!
And, last but not least, doesn’t anyone care about desserts?
The moral of the story? You never have to be alone. Not even the freakazoids in D.C. They have their own associations, too. There’s the Senate, the House of Representatives, the Black Caucus…..

Someone needs to splain some things to this kid. What a punk! He has been accused of burglary, he is wearing an ankle monitor, he takes the reporters microphone, and then he orders his dog to attack the reporter. First I would be embarrassed if that were my kid. After I got over that, I would go on to the splainin part.

I’ve only heard Establishment Republicans making those statements.

And you. Holy cow. You blathered the same thing on these very pages right after the election. It’s apparent that you have no idea what you say from day to day.

As I recall, I stated that the People did not vote for “free stuff”, they voted with thier lady parts in favor of Gay Marriage and that the good news about the latter is that the issue was carried by the Liberty Arguments presented. That’s observation, not advocacy, and I didn’t mention Abortion at all, let alone blame Right To Life as the reason why the Republicans lost or that the issue should be abandoned. I also said that the way to combat this was not to change our principals but to change the way we talked about those issues.
But more importantly, and more to the point is this:

The only faction within the Republican coalition who has ever asked you to set aside thier favored Candidate’s poor Right To Life record or any reservations you might have about it in the name of “electability” was the Establishment Republicans who asked you to ignore Romney’s record on the issue while he was Governor of Mass.

When the Establishment big wigs sat around in 2010 trying to decide where thier money, power, prestige, and contacts would be going, Romney’s record on Guns, Socialized Medicine, and Right To Life were not seen as ideological problems they could not countenance, but rhetorical problems that could be sloved by providing the Candidate with a few glib responses to questions, exculpatory justifications by talking heads, bloggers, and Op Ed writers planted by media consultants, and providing bushel baskets full of web links to an army of sycophantic shills who could use them in long and rambling cut and paste jobs in the comments sections of blogs and news stories until people got weary of paying attention to the issue.
The fiscal policy differences between all of the Candidates offered were miniscule. THere had to have been other issues that the Establishment thought rendered other candidates too Conservative to be “electable”. What other policy positions do you think made the Establishment decide that Romney was more “electable” than, for instance, Rick Santorum?
If you are relying on the current Establishment Republican Leadership to remain the guardians of your (and my) Pro-Life position, I believe you will find your self severely disappointed when they tell you that you need to be as reeeeeesonable on thhat issue as they are saying you need to be on immigaration because of what they see in the polls.

Good Valentine’s Day morning Hamsters. Beautiful and frosty 32 at 6:30, white all over the pastures and roofs, sparkles after Sunrise for all too brief a time, then a bright winter day takes over the stage. We shall fondly recall this in July.
Spouse’s two dozen roses are doing well, only two of the yellow ones seem a bit weak. Not bad for having been given on Sunday. We’re sharing a big piece of red velvet cake for dessert tonight after dinner out. Nothuing fancy. Cards opened, enjoyed, and displayed near the roses. Very grateful for the almost 48 years together. 🙂

Last month we published the findings of our study “Recasting History: Are Race, Class, and Gender Dominating American History?”, which examines freshman and sophomore U.S. history courses at the University of Texas and Texas A&M University. We found an extraordinary emphasis on race, class, and gender. At A&M 50 percent of history course material and at UT 78 percent of the assigned readings revolve around race, class, and gender.

The “no neutrality is possible” mantra simply exalts political partisanship under the false pretense of intellectual sophistication. College students in Texas and everywhere else deserve better. They deserve teachers committed to bringing forward not just favored fragments of the truth, but the whole truth.

Jack Daniels Fishing Story I went fishing this morning but after a short time I ran out of worms. Then I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth. Frogs are good bass bait. Knowing the snake couldn’t bite me with the frog in his mouth I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket. Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit. So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. His eyes rolled back, he went limp. I released him into the lake without incident and carried on fishing using the frog. A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot. It was that snake, with two more frogs.

While it is possible that such a gross error in judgement could be made again, that being not responding forcefully and with full vigor to such a blatant smear, I don’t think it will happen again. RMoney got beat when it should have been an easy win because he did not respond vigorously against the false statements and he did not attack those who made them. It is high time that we start digging up dirt on the reporters in addition to the manifold blunders and lies of the polititerds on the left.
BRASS KNUCKLES, we must fight for our very lives in the upcoming battles in congress and electorally in 2014 because they may very well depend on it.

There are going to be literally millions of people whose only memory of Marco Rubio will be this one.

The media turns him into a punch line. And if you’re like most Americans too busy to devote hours of time to watch the State of the Union and its rebuttal, the news you got this morning portrayed Rubio as Cindy in the infamous spelling bee episode of the Brady Bunch (Cindy aces all tests in school until a red light on a camera during a televised contest freezes her beyond repair).
    Poor impression made.
    Mission accomplished.

This IS worse than screwing underaged Dominican hookers. Most people don’t want to beleive that Senators screw underaged Dominican hookers and thus require proof that is difficult to get.

That and everything else that’s been said may be true, but give the man his props. Cruz’ vote was never in question, but if Paul hadn’t voted “No” we’d be talking about Secretary Hagel right now. And Harry reid would be chalking up another victory instead of walking out with egg on his face for scheduling a cloture vote that didn’t pass.
