Thought I saw a RFU yesterday morning, but I only got a quick glimpse. I went over where it was and all I found was a little pile of mini marshmallows, so it must have been a youngster. I’ll keep reporting more sightings.

I’ll be off to mass shortly. It’s a holy day of obligation for us Catholics – The Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
And no, it’s not Jesus. It’s Mary.
She’s my fave. I guess because my own mother didn’t know how to be a good one, I’ve always been drawn to Mary. As a mother and wife, I look to her as a role model. I mean, have you ever wondered what it was like to be Jesus’ Mommy? Holy cow. One slip-up and…but since she was ever in the grace of God, I guess that wouldn’t be a problem. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to her and her story.
And then at some point I realized we also shared a birthday. How cool is that?
So, I’ll be popping in later. I may take another nap. I had planned on sleeping reeeeeeaaalllllyyyy late this morning, but this is the only mass we’re having for today’s HDOB. The later masses today are vigil masses for tomorrow.
I just wish it wasn’t bilingual. I hate those things. -
While I’m grateful for the freedom to express one’s self I’ve learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I’m deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted.
Could be interpreted?
When it came to Psy’s turn he rapped about ‘killing those f***ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives.
‘Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers.
‘Kill them all slowly and painfully.’I guess they are “being taken out of context”.

there is no waiting and seeing, look at Greece, Britain, OLD Rome……………………..But the US isn’t like any of those other failed/failing societies. EVERYONE in Greece (+ Italy + Portugal + Spain) wants a loafer’s life of leisure. At least half of America isn’t like that at all. I don’t understand what’s gone wrong in the U.K. so don’t know how to compare it to our problems. And Old Rome — well maybe our wide-open borders are sort of like the barbarians at the gates.

Do we get the government we deserve?
The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.

This South Korean rapper PSY set to entertain at Obammy’s Inauguration Gala just reminds me of Hotblack Desiato, the rock star from Hitch Hiiker’s Guide.

I just got a call from one of the leaders of the Boy Scout hiking group Kason is participating in. He said that Kason was an absolute trooper but that his fee are probably torn up. He suggested blister band aides saying how much they help his feet. The hike was 20 miles and Kason wore new hiking boots to it. We did trot break them in but I guess that wasn’t good enough.
-
Use moleskin.
Before the blisters. -
I took Janisen to the Apple store in the Woodlands today. She’s been locked out of her iPod Touch account. It w hopeful. We’ll see how things turn out.
-
Wagon;
Niki told me about that after I shared the bad news to her. I still don’t know exactly what that is even after going out to look for some. I guess that’s what the internet’s for. Thanks for the tip. Kason just got back and is indeed hurting. He’s in the shower and we’ll start patching him up afterwards. -
Wagon #18;
That was weird. -
I get Chicks on the Right in FB, but their blog can be accessed on the web as well. This is from commentary about some big flap over Ellen Degeneres in a JC Penney ad.
Sure, I can see how One Million Moms would see the success in shutting down a show on MTV or some smut-laden commercial during prime time. Good for them. Seriously. I applaud them for shutting ANYTHING down on MTV, truth be told, as that network is an STD in multimedia format.
Yep: “an STD in multimedia format”

Jim DeMint makes it clear he’s leaving the Senate because Boehner’s House Republicans ain’t getting the job done.

Why are they showing commercials about vulvar discomfort on American Hot Rod?

I have intentionally kept myself from doing any office work today. It’s been difficult, because I know there’s stuff i need to do, but since I’m still feeling the office fatigue.
I went to mass this morning, then went to the breakfast the school was holding for their “Breakfast with Santa” and talked to some friends. By the time I got home, I was ready for a nap. I went straight to bed and crashed until almost 2:00 p.m. I got up, ate some leftovers and watched TV, then went outside to enjoy the day. I picked up pecans, then went shopping. I picked up some Christmas gifts and groceries, then came home (it was dark by then). A little time on the computer, some laying-on-the-couch time with Barf Kitty, then made dinner and more TV with Hubby.
It’s been a struggle to not be productive today. I’m not used to not working. But it’s a weird feeling – it’s been nice to not face my desk today, but it’s actually been a little stressful fighting the urge to go upstairs. -
TT,
I’m glad you finally checked in here. I’m sure Pyro will be along soon to tell you to Lighten Up, Toots. -
The Bellville boys have their work cut out for them.
Navasota averages 47 points per game, allowing only 8.
I’d put their offense up against anyone in the state. Even the 5A schools. -
I just saw a major faux pas on KHOU news. The story is about the freshman Aggie Heisman winner. They showed a former student and labeled him an “alumnus”.
Texas A&M does not have alumni. We have former students.
Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. Never an alumnus. Just a former student. -

Hello and good night Hamsters. Long day but a good one featuring a leisurely lunch with dear friends I haven’t seen for almost 2 years even though they live in Houston. Time gets away from you when you are busy, and all of us are. Phone calls and e-mails don’t suffice that long. Met in a Pearland Town Center restaurant and caught up on everyone’s doings while having a wonderful lunch.
The drive over and back from north of Richmond takes about an hour each way because traffic on Highway 6 through Sugar Land and Missouri City on a Saturday is heavy, especially in December. Not as heavy in Pearland at 288 and 518 but busy enough.
Looking forward to putting up our tree tomorrow and doing a few outdoor things before the promised front approaches. December seems to be flying by, and I’m behind schedule. 🙁 -

Oh, and remember you’re paying for the housing. Doncha’ just LOVE this Utiopia that our savior has brought us……Kinda’ gives me the warm fuzzies. -

Packers won 27-20 over Detroit at Green Bay, in a snowstorm, overnight low expected to be about 25. Supposing that might be the leading edge of the northern end of the front we are expecting shortly. So far nothing but a few drops here, and it’s 71 on the front porch at 11 pm. Gasp.
Go Texans tomorrow night.
G’night all.
