I know the topic will soon turn to politics, but for a bit of Friday fun, let’s try something else, shall we? Please don’t lament that we are not discussing the heavy topics of the day. It won’t be long, I assure you.
I was asked yesterday how I connected chickens to painter’s tape. My sister, who owned chickens, was moving out of our unit, which needed repainting, which meant I needed to buy painter’s tape to start masking off the painting area.
Let’s see if you can come up with a connection (imaginary or real) to these random word choices. How creative is this group, after all?
Group 1: table -> ocean
Group 2: TV -> post office
Group 3: buffalo -> pencil
Group 4: toenail -> spark plug
Group 5: China -> squirrel
This ought to be fun!

And the Southern Poverty Law Center labeled these guys as a hate group?โGaining access to children has been a long-term goal of the homosexual movement.โ
โ Robert Knight, FRC director of cultural studies, and Frank York, 1999
โ[Homosexuality] โฆ embodies a deep-seated hatred against true religion.โ
โ Steven Schwalm, FRC senior writer and analyst, in โDesecrating Corpus Christi,โ 1999
โOne of the primary goals of the homosexual rights movement is to abolish all age of consent laws and to eventually recognize pedophiles as the โprophetsโ of a new sexual order.โ
-1999 FRC pamphlet, Homosexual Activists Work to Normalize Sex with Boys.
โ[T]he evidence indicates that disproportionate numbers of gay men seek adolescent males or boys as sexual partners.โ
โ Timothy Dailey, senior research fellow, โHomosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse,โ 2002
โWhile activists like to claim that pedophilia is a completely distinct orientation from homosexuality, evidence shows a disproportionate overlap between the two. โฆ It is a homosexual problem.โ
โ FRC President Tony Perkins, FRC website, 2010You know what Hate is Shamaal?
Hate is when a guy walks up to another man, points a pistol at him, says “I don’t like your politics” and pulls the trigger.
Hate is creating an atmosphere where a guy like that feels that it was the right thing to do.
Hate is trying to make excuses for that guy by trying to make it look like he was justified in doing it.
Hate is making the victim of the crime look worse than the guy who committed it.
I don’t see anything like that at FRC. I disagree with almost everything they say, but their motivation is not Hate. They truly think they are protecting children and preventing suicides. They’re not making people so angry that they can’t think straight anymore just so somebody can get elected by pretending that he’s a crusader for equal rights.
He carried a pistol with 15 rounds in the magazine, and 15 Chick Fil A sandwiches in his back pack. He didn’t hate just the FRC. This is a politically motivated Hate Crime. Painting “Tastes Like Hate” on the sides of restaurants is what put that pistol in his hand. Getting people to believe that the FRC is a Hate Group instead of just being wrong is what made him pull the trigger.
This is not a lone nut case. There is no doubt about his motive and intent: it was politically motivated Hate. This is a guy who thought he was doing the right thing, and who thought that you would approve of it. Your defense of him by demonizng his victim tells me that you probably did. You guys who try to win the argument by making your opponents evil are the guilty parties here. You put this guy up to this with your hateful rhetoric, made more hateful by the fact that you pretend that is us who engage in it and you are as pure as the driven snow. -
The ocean was flat as a table, so I set my TV up on it, but it fell through. The post office called to tell me that my buffalo nickles had arrived but that I needed to be sure to bring my own pencil to sign for them. On my way into the post office, I accidentally kicked the curb and broke my toenail. While I was hopping around in pain, a squirrel started barking at me, to I took a spark plug from China and threw it at him. Then President Zero walked in and told everyone to empty their wallets, their bank accounts, and load up their credit cards to the max for his campaign, which I was happy to do since the currency was worthless anyway. The end.

I won’t go as far as FRC does in their statements but there is no doubt in the next 20 years we will have seen groups such as NAMBLA grown more mainstream and will be considered a part of the LGBT(P) community by many in the LGBT(P) community. Now you would axe why and what do the groups have in common with each other and I would axe what do T’s and B’s and P’s have to do with L and G’s? To answer that question you have to face it’s as much an agenda as anything else. -
Oh and my table and TV have came across the ocean from China and are at the post office.

Apparently, Government Motors isn’t doing as well as some folks would have us believe.
President Obama is proud of his bailout of General Motors. Thatโs good, because, if he wins a second term, he is probably going to have to bail GM out again. The company is once again losing market share, and it seems unable to develop products that are truly competitive in the U.S. market.

Happy Birthday, Davy.Davy Crockett born
August 17, 1786
On this day in 1786, frontier icon and Alamo defender Davy Crockett was born in Tennessee. He began his military career as a scout in the Tennessee militia in 1813 and was elected to the Tennessee legislature in 1821. After a turbulent political career, during which he split with President Andrew Jackson, a fellow Tennessean, and acquired a national reputation as a sharpshooter, hunter, and yarn-spinner, Crockett grew disenchanted with the political process and decided to explore Texas. He set out in November 1835 and reached San Antonio de Bรฉxar in February 1836, shortly before the arrival of Antonio Lรณpez de Santa Anna. Crockett chose to join Col. William B. Travis, who had deliberately disregarded Jackson sympathizer Sam Houston’s orders to withdraw from the Alamo, and died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. No matter how many fabrications gathered around him, the historical David Crockett proved a formidable hero in his own right and succeeded Daniel Boone as the rough-hewn representative of frontier independence and virtue. -

The progressive version of diversity is dividing people into classes. Once the classes are defined, each class is pitted against the other.
Rich against poor, white against black, gays against straights.
Mass shootings begin to break out.
Unemployment stays high.
Ad infinitum…..
Slowly, each class is pulled into government dependence. They will eventually tax the rich more and more, draining the nation’s wealth from the top. As our wealth declines, government takes on more social burdens with unfunded liabilities.
We are in a downward spiral and it can’t be stopped without control of the White House and both sides of Congress. Even then, it will take years to get the Judicial Branch cleansed and following the Constitution instead of rewriting it. -

MSNBCโs Tourรฉ: Romney Engaging In The โNiggerizationโ Of Obama
video
by Andrew Kirell | 4:41 pm, August 16th, 2012
On Thursdayโs edition of MSNBCโs The Cycle the group discussed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romneyโs assertion that President Obama should โtake [his] campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.โ Co-host Tourรฉ saw what he believes to be explicit racial connotations beneath what Romney was saying, calling it the โniggerizationโ of the campaign.
โThat really bothered me,โ he said. โYou notice he said anger twice. Heโs really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the โotherization,โ heโs not like us.โ
โI know itโs a heavy thing, I donโt say it lightly, but this is โniggerization,โโ Tourรฉ said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. โYou are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who weโve been trained to fear.โ
Naturally this led to a battle between Tourรฉ and conservative co-host S.E. Cupp. She took particular issue with the fact that Tourรฉ admitted that VP Joe Bidenโs โchainsโ comments were divisive, but is now calling Romney a โracistโ for saying the Obama campaign is โangry.โ
โDo you see how dishonest that is?โ she asked.http://www.mediaite.com/tv/msnbcs-toure-to-panel-romney-engaging-in-the-niggerization-of-obama/

Press Corp’s Chuck Todd and Jake Tapper Rips White House Press Censorship
by Ben Shapiro 16 Aug 2012
Today, the Obama White House apparently lost the leg-tingling support of NBCโs Chuck Todd. Todd, fed up with the fact that aides to Joe Biden have reportedly been editing White House press pool transcripts to avoid quoting Bidenโs โthey gonna put yโall back in chainsโ remark, has called for an end to White House issuance of press pool transcripts. โI think weโre going to have to change this sytem,โ said Todd. โThis is an outrage that they do this.โ
Politico had already reported this morning that โaides tried to edit media pool reports for any potential landmines that could be seized on by Republicans and even hovered at close range to eavesdrop on journalistsโ conversations with attendees at Biden rallies.โ
The press corps is particularly upset with the Obama administration right now because Obama refuses to talk with them. Jake Tapper, no enemy to the Obama administration, wrote today that โPresident Obama hasnโt formally taken questions from the White House press corps in more than two months, while on the campaign trial in Iowa yesterday he made time for reporters from People Magazine and Entertainment tonight.โ -

Dana Milbank, not an unhinged Wingnut which will become evident , decries the use Hate for poltical purposes on his side. Would that others followed his example.
I disagree with the Family Research Councilโs views on gays and lesbians. But itโs absurd to put the group, as the law center does, in the same category as Aryan Nations, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Stormfront and the Westboro Baptist Church. The center says the FRC โoften makes false claims about the LGBT community based on discredited research and junk science.โ Exhibit A in its dossier is a quote by an FRC official from 1999 (!) saying that โgaining access to children has been a long-term goal of the homosexual movement.โ
Offensive, certainly. But in the same category as the KKK?Yah, its not as funny as a snarky post that intimates someone else is a Hater. But maybe Milbank realized that this kind of thing is what should be done.

I got another load of emotional crap thrown on me by my sister this morning. Twice.
Geez, it’s hard not to throw crap back.
We spent years trying to mend a relationship that from our childhood was antagonistic and abusive. After months of talking and getting close, we’re back to where we started from. And I honestly don’t know what I’ve done wrong. Everything I say, no matter how kind, is being interpreted as hurtful. I referenced her love for her husband in the turmoil of what we’re going through, as one facet of her emotional condition right now. I was trying to let her know that I know she’s hurting, why she’s hurting, and why she’s having a hard time accepting my love. Her email this morning now accuses me of “using her dear husband”. I know she’s hurting but dammit, I’m tired of being the focus of her rage.
Sometimes I wonder why I even try. I’m going to try to step back and give her space. Maybe in time, she’ll understand I’m not the hateful, cold-hearted, mercenary b*ch she thinks I am. -
#37 – I know that I don’t need to say this, but you must remember that the only person whose behavior you can “manage” is your own. Be true to yourself, and the rest will take care or itself – maybe not the way you want it to or the way you hope it will, but it will take care of itself – and as an added bonus, there is a better chance that you will remain sane.
-
#38 El Gordo
Yep, that’s the conversation I just had with Hubby. And that’s what I told my sister.
If she wants to be angry, that’s her burden. I’m going to continue to love her and try to be understanding – but from a distance. I don’t need her slings and arrows, I’ve got enough of my own. Time heals all wounds, so maybe, in time, this will heal, also.
It’s just hard to be accused of things of which I’m not guilty. And I know she’s sharing this with at least one other very active sister, who likes to get into everyone’s business. Our next family get together will be — interesting. -
OH, and we’re not renting to family or friends any more. Same goes for hiring practices. Her son still harbors ill will for his firing, despite all the reasons for it.

It’s something that has crossed my mind, but I don’t know until I get there – unless I start getting flak through email – what’s going to happen.
There’s 12 siblings – anything could happen. They could all be like me, understanding sister’s emotional turmoil, or we could all revert to our childhood behaviors.
In which case, I’m hightailing it out of there. -

Former VA Gov. Doug Wilder Appears at Romney Fundraiser (Updates)
At a fundraiser at the Richmond, VA Marriott tonight for the Romney campaign, there was a surprise guest. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell introduced Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who in turn introduced Rep. Paul Ryan. But before McDonnell took the mic, another figure was acknowledging dignitaries in the crowd. Among those dignitaries addressed from the stage, was former Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder, according to a Tatler source who was there.
Wilder, a Democrat, is the first black politician elected governor in the United States. He served as governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1994. Wilder has been sharply critical of Vice President Joe Bidenโs controversial โchainsโ comment this week.
Gov. Wilderโs appearance at a fundraiser for the Republican presidential ticket is sure to set off shock waves among the Democrats, and lead to speculation that he could shake up the race with more criticism of the Democratic ticket.Update: Today, Gov. Wilder also tweeted โRCP: โMaybe voters wonโt notice that this administration has lost hope and resists change.โ: http://bit.ly/PrZWWn

How long will it be before the global community recognizes that Iran is an imminent existential threat to Israel?
HEADLINE: ‘Tumour’ of Israel will soon be destroyed: Ahmadinejad
While I will stipulate that the goat-raping SOBs in Iran have been threatening this for years, now or very soon they may have the capacity to carry out the threat. How much longer will Israel risk its existence to the ridiculous notion of diplomacy and sanctions?
“The Zionist regime and the Zionists are a cancerous tumour,” he said.
“The nations of the region will soon finish off the usurper Zionists in the Palestinian land…. A new Middle East will definitely be formed. With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists,” he said.
/snip
The head of Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, told the Fars news agency as he attended the Tehran rally that “the Iranian nation has always been at the forefront of the (regional anti-Israeli) resistance in showing its animosity with Israel.”
He added that Iran intended to maintain that virulent stance. At some point the goat-raping Iranian camel jerks will be taken seriously as “the clear and present danger” they are and dealt with accordingly, with or without America’s help.
-
#91 – So long an the liberals think they can negotiate with a bunch of barbarians who could care less about the sanctity of human like, the longer the risk will play out, and the longer they will laugh at us. Iโve given up and joined the stepdaughter in creating my own parallel universe.Oh is that you I hear moving furniture in next door? Check out the McDonald’s on Freudian Slip Rd for some great mexican food and mint juleps.

I’ll see your mowing and raise you 8 loads of dirt moved, leveled, and the dirt pile spaded for my next round of physical activity.
I needed something after my sister got the last word, calling me “despicable”.
Yep, moved me some dirt. Hubby and Handsome are off doing their own thing, so I have sole control of the remote. After I cool off, take my shower, and rinse off the remainder of backyard, I plan on exercising my remote control rights. -
Shabbat Shalom, Y’all

I understand there is a pretty nice townhome opening up in my parallel universe. Sure would not having you and Shannon as neighbors. -
Yeah, but the ball and chain would have to come with me, and he wouldn’t understand the whole “parallel universe” thing.
Of course, though, “parallel” doesn’t mean “exactly the same,” does it?
Hmmmmm…….. -
Well on Saturday I said;
Crap, I just got back from the boat shed and my โSmart Chargerโ has passed away, lasted only 1 YEAR!
I was going to see if I could fix it but the DAYAAM screw-heads look like little triangles, I canโt get any slotted screwdriver to fit! Iโll have to drill the heads off, guess.
FWIW; I know that I can fix it if I can get parts, BUTT I bet I canโt. ๐And Bonecrusher said;
AAAARRRRGGGGH! A bucket o curses on the cheap Chinese crap. Can you fabricate/frankenstein a repair from the stuff in your garage? Dya feel like a challenge?
Well the other night, I got an old allen wrench and ground it down on my grinder into a rudimentary triangle shaped tool and got the dang cover off. When I opened it, some thick, nasty liquid ran out, and I noticed that it came out of the DC filter capacitor, so I checked the four diode bridge rectifiers and the heavy duty voltage regulator transistor and they were all OK. So I replaced the 220 microfarad capacitor and the solder-in fuse and checked it out, and it works like a champ. Got 6 philps head screws outta’ my stash and put it back together. Saved $60.00 ๐

I’ve never understood this whole dirt thing you have going on. If I were a contractor, I’d bring in a Bobcat front-end loader and move all the damned dirt in a couple of hours and be done with it. I surely wouldn’t let my wife be breaking her back all year long moving dirt with a shovel and wheelbarrow.
Just sayin’. -

In Russia, you do not “speak truth to power”.

Milkweed is the host plant for monarchs. They lay their eggs on โem so that their babies have the proper food when theyโre born. Does your week look like any of these?Butterflies drop anchor babies too???

SD is my kinda man, my labor is cheap!

#106 Bonecrusher, I left out the part about the cap and fuse, I had them in my stash also. I’ve got a lot of old electronic parts left over from the days that I repaired EVERYTHING that I owned. I almost threw all that stuff away in the last garage clean up because it is so hard to cross match parts. All the manufacturers use their own part numbers, so even though they may all use the same parts there is no way to know which ones are the same, they do this so you will throw the Dayaam thang away and buy a new one. ๐

Yep, Christianity is obviously an oppressive evil. /sarc off
The Arab Spring takeover of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood has run amok, with reports from several different media agencies that the radical Muslims have begun crucifying opponents of newly installed President Mohammed Morsi.
/snip
Ibrahim said extra brutality is reserved for Christians, but the crucifixions are because of Islamic doctrine, and are required by the Quran. The time and other details about the crucifixions were not readily available. -
And one for Dooood.
Hamous, that was awesome! I’m gonna have to go pick me some up at HEB before long. Scrapple and maple syrup – NOMZ! My kid likes his with ketchup, but then again he’s a teenager, so his tastes haven’t really matured yet.

When the youngest son was about 5 Santa brought him one of those electric powered Jeeps, well the dang thing ran fine on the sidewalk but blew fuses when he drove it in the grass. It was a Jeep for crying out loud, this would not do! My OCD self kept pestering the manufacturer and they were real good about sending me updated parts but none ever worked. I should have returned it and got Santa’s money back, but it was a mission now. I ran heavier wiring, put in relays and heavier fuse links and wala!, worked till he outgrew it.
-
Scrapple
I had to look it up, that looks kinda tasty.
Oh never mind, I didn’t look close enough. ๐ -
OK, so the wife is at daughter’s house in Richmond, house sittin’ and taking care of her Pole Cats and I fried up the last of the fresh okree and warmed up the last of the dirty rice and went to churches and got a dozen chicken gizzards for supper. I’ve taken the girls out twice since 4:00 and now I in my recliner with Lil Bit under my left arm trying to clean out my left ear, looking up at me with those big brown eyes, the dang psychotic little dawg loves me more than anything.
FWIW; She has serious issues because who/whomever had her before treated her like CRAP, so I guess that I beat the H3!! out of anyhing that she was used to.
YUP Life is GOOD! ๐ -
A rescued dog will forever love you, the last one we had was about 9 yrs old the best the Vet could tell. My wife could not move without him by her side, and oh Lordy when she was gone…

That’s OK GJT, I might be the only one here that likes it. Then again, I might be the only here that likes these guys too. Going to see them in December at Toyota Center and taking the kiddo. Some top notch musicians right there.

#113 Tim, my boy got a 4 wheel drive “Dune Buggy” from Santa one year and it was so dang fast that the nicad batteries would only last about 5-7 minutes so I bought a bunch of nickel metal hydride batteries off E-Bay and cluged together a battery pack with almost twice the MHA of the nicads, after running them flat out, they were so hot that they would burn your hands. GUMBY DAMMIT! ๐

My #118 FWIW; The dang dune buggy had two motors, one for the front wheels and one for the back. โ

Yep and my son is a chip off the old block, a learned rigger. ๐
I said Rigger! -
I think I cracked a rib. Leaning over the back of the mower to pick up a rock and throw it back on the road – Instead of getting off the mower to do it.
Can you say stupid? -
This has only been up a couple of days and already has over one million hits. It’s still pretty impressive if you take the time to watch in completely:

Shannon, are you still out mowing in the dark? Does your mower have brights on it?
-
I think it’s pretty stupid to be mowing in the dark. It’s almost ten o’clock.
Do you have headlights on that thing ? -

According to a new study by UCLA researchers, eating 75 grams of walnuts a day improves the vitality, motility, and morphology of sperm in healthy men aged 21 to 35.
Dr. Wendie Robbins and her colleagues at the University of California, Los Angeles decided to investigate whether increasing polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which are critical for sperm maturation and membrane function, would increase sperm quality in men consuming a Western-style diet. -
