The boss must be hung over or something.
Here’s a video showing some people doing some pretty cool stuff (and a few crazy things). I’ll be back later.

Sarge, late to the party this evening. Prayers launched for the wounded hero and for his family. And kind rembrance of Liz and her sweet nature and of Josh’s service to our country. May he be watched over in his duties. SD, Katfish, and mharper42, you honor me with your compliments and make me blush a tad as well. Delighted… Read more »
That’s our Lady Adee! You’re right Mr. Fish, we prolly do take for granted the privilege.

#40 – Everyone, I want to call attention to Adee’s morning weather report in #128, stuck at the bottom of Weekend OC. Rain squalls offshore creep closer to the coast; the radio crackles intermittently to herald their approach. Perhaps it’s an omen of tomorrow’s event at the polls Distant rumbling thunder elicits thoughts of T-Rex footfalls? Lady Adee, I am… Read more »
Dave, I was just a reader and fed the tip jar some. Never commented on anything. There was something else I signed up for too, something Dan and/or Ed had going on, they sent out email newsletters to their membership. It all seems like a long time back.

#51 SD I was a charter supporter of LST when it was first started up. Then I was working 60 hrs a week and drifted away. Now I am “retired” and contracting part-time to the old company. So have time for interacting (i.e. lurking) with this merry band that has evolved into The Hamsters. Adee, I’d like to hear your… Read more »

May break my bones,
But whips and chains
Excite me.*
* Seen on a t-shirt given to a co-worker on her 40th birthday.
Depends on who the chains are on.
Its not my blog, but I recommend we keep the chains on the Famous Blog Vandals.

We have to undo the chains every now and then.
I see the unruly children are trying to sit at the grown-up’s table.
I do not know which form of shorthand my mom utilized. I did not realize more than one form existed. She spent years as a secretary for various businesses and said that her shorthand of 120 words per minute along with the ability to type as fast kept her gainfully employed. When I was a boy I saw some shorthand… Read more »
THE UGLY FROG An older lady was somewhat lonely and decided she needed a pet to keep her company. So, off to the pet shop she went. She searched and searched. None of the pets seemed to catch her interest, except this ugly frog. As she walked by the jar he was in, she looked and he winked at her.… Read more »

Sometimes I crack myself up.
Somebody here at work just asked me if I’d heard of some singer named Aaron Lewis.
I said “Didn’t he get in a duel with Raymond Burr?”
Suspicion confirmed.

That is more accurately called speed writing. It’s useful as well.
I will say, on the subject of shorthand, it saved my butt in my freshman history class at A&M. My professor spoke so fast his tongue tripped over itself. This was before taping was common, so I took my notes in shorthand and transcribed them at night. That not only enable me to keep up with the professor’s speed, but… Read more »

#18 WB Yes, there are several systems: Pitman and Gregg are the most common. I learned the Gregg system, which is based on cursive strokes and flows more like “regular” writing. There are sites on the internet which will teach you, but how much speed you gain is totally up to how much skill you develop. I was required to… Read more »

Down in Webb County a lot of kids ride to school every day and there may or may not be a deer rifle in the scabbard. Sure glad I live in Texas.

How long does it take to learn/how hard is it? Isn’t there more than one system?
I’m getting back into my shorthand. I forgot how much I missed it. It’s really useful, especially when Hubby calls to give me my “to-do” list. And I can write notes about him that he can’t read! 😉 (I used to do that to my high school French teacher – it drove him nuts.) Useful for gift lists, no one… Read more »
Riding horse to school = bringing loaded gun?
May God protect all those in uniform who work to make this world a safer place. May the Lord bless their families and comfort the bereaved. I pray also for the conversion of evil to good, that the hearts of the enemies of liberty, peace, and the sanctity of life may be changed.
Amen.
