Parts of far west Texas are in the Mountain Time Zone.

Makes sense. I thought the Texas/New mexico border was the dividing point for that. I should know better since I’ve travelled to New mexico a few times already.

Try AVS Video Converter. It’s a free download that should run on most Windows machines. Convert your “.mod” files to .mpg files and your DVD software should be happy.

Three Straus cronies bite the dust. Conservatives scored major symbolic victories by defeating three Republican committee chairs, dealing a major setback to House Speaker Joe Straus. The conservative activist group Empower Texans — a major Perry ally — defeated state Reps. Rob Eissler, Vicki Truitt and “Tuffy” Hamilton. Straus also faced a primary challenge from the right wing of the… Read more »

The TSA bill was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen erupt in the Texas Legislature. Remarkably dumb. Not understanding what is the problem with forcing a court fight with the over zealous Feds in their stupid crotch groping. What better venue than the great state of Texas? Besides, even Dewhurts was for it in the special session, at… Read more »

Pat Lykos certainly wasn’t my first choice for DA, but Anderson is a politically overburdened pack mule so indebted to every goofball in the Woodfill/ Blakemore/ Stephen Hotze/ Terry Lowry creepfest of Republicans in Harris County, he’ll be as lousy a DA as Rosenthal once he brings back in all his cronies to the HCDAO.

Establishment Pubbies targeted TX Rep David Simpson and ran a Straus crony against him. He has handily survived the challenge.
You might remember him from the rousing personal privelege speech he made regarding the TSA Bill that Straus (and Dewcrist) killed.

Cruz’ problem now is money aggravated by the fat that Dewcrist can remind any potential Texas donors that he’ll still be Lt. Gubner if he loses and that might affect any decisions he might be making——

#84 Hambone, yup Dewdrops 46% Cruz 32%.

Cruz did better than expected, and Dewcrist didn’t meet expectations. Makes one wonder what would have happened had Lepperts not been in the race.
Seems North Texas was a three way tie.

#84 Hambone, yup Dewdrops 46% Cruz 32%. We now have a fighting chance. The winner of the Republican Primary for The Breckgirls’ seat will be a Senator for a Very, Very, Long time. So we have to try to elect the closest thing to a conservative that we can.
