I’m sure it isn’t just Florida (emphasis mine):
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Board of Education decided in an emergency meeting Tuesday to lower the passing grade on the writing portion of Florida’s standardized test after preliminary results showed a drastic drop in student passing scores.
The results indicated only about a third of students would pass this year’s tougher Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test exam, compared with a passing rate of 80 percent or more last year.
“They’ve asked students to do more, but that’s pretty dramatic,” said Florida Education Association spokesman Mark Pudlow. “We need to examine what led to this, not just paper over the problem.”
Yeah, asking the students to man up and do their homework is “dramatic”. And not just dramatic, it’s “pretty dramatic”. How about the specter of not graduating? Do you think that might be “dramatic” enough to make them go to summer school to learn what they failed to learn while goofing off? Or insisting that teachers be held accountable, if they’re goofing off?

The Ds are starting to get really desperate as they know their reign of stooopidity will absolutely end in Jan 2013 and their numbers will be less than the Rs were in Jan 2009. They are so desperate that they are starting to engage in Nixonesque tactics.
Puzzling break-ins over the last month at the offices of at least three House members and several committees have U.S. Capitol Police gumshoes working to find a pattern and the culprits, with missing items ranging from cash and expensive computer equipment to autographed baseballs and alcohol.
In at least four of the cases, thieves broke into the offices at night when doors were locked, leading some staffers to believe they were victims of an inside job. -

Obama memorials bury Fast and Furious law enforcement deaths
David Codrea
Gun Rights ExaminerPresident Obama, as keynote speaker in yesterdayโs 31st Annual National Peace Officersโ Memorial Service held by the Fraternal Order of Police on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, elected not to address law enforcement lives lost in the Fast and Furious โgunwalkingโ scandal.
While the name of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who died in December, 2010, would not have appeared on the 2011 roll call of the fallen being honored, the name of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata, slain in Mexico with a Fast and Furious weapon, was included on the roster. The President made no acknowledgment of that, or of the untold numbers of walked guns still in the wild, allowed by the government to fall into the hands of Mexican cartel criminals who continue to endanger law enforcement and the general population on both sides of the border.
In a related development, one without ceremony, the President signed the Brian A. Terry Memorial Act into law, sidestepping the dilemma identified in this column on May 9 about whether or not he would invite Terryโs parents to the signing.
โOn Tuesday, when Obama signed the bill into law, he did not hold a public signing ceremony with Terryโs family,โ Matthew Boyle of The Daily Caller reports. โThe announcement that Obama had signed the memorial act into law was stuffed in the middle of a White House press release packed with other announcements not relevant to Terry.โ
While disappointing, itโs hardly surprising, especially considering no one in the โmainstream pressโ elected to deem that development newsworthy, consistent with their documented record of ignoring or misdirecting the Fast and Furious story. Noting Terryโs mother called Obamaโs Attorney General Eric Holder a โcowardโ and a โjoke,โ if a reaction from the family on this latest deliberate slight is forthcoming, expect it to be candid in sentiment, that is, if the lawyer representing them in their $25 million lawsuit against the Justice Department and ATF has not advised them to avoid further public statements altogether.

Obama budget defeated 99-0 in Senate
By Stephen Dinan
May 16, 2012, 04:27PMPresident Obama’s budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.
Coupled with the House’s rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama’s budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.
Republicans forced the vote by offering the president’s plan on the Senate floor.
Democrats disputed that it was actually the president’s plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn’t actually match Mr. Obama’s budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president’s numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them โ a challenge no Democrats took up.
“A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office,” Mr. Sessions said of the unanimous opposition.
The White House has held its proposal out as a “balanced approach” to beginning to rein in deficits. It calls for tax increases to begin to offset higher spending, and would begin to level off debt as a percentage of the economy by 2022. It would produce $6.4 trillion in new deficits over that time.
By contrast the chief Republican alternative from the House GOP would notch just $3.1 trillion in deficits, and three Senate Republican alternatives would all come in below $2 trillion.
The Senate is holding votes Wednesday on Mr. Obama’s budget, the House GOP’s budget and the three Senate Republican alternatives. None was expected to gain the 50 votes needed to pass the chamber.

Green Water Found Flowing Out Of Taps In Toms River, N.J.
Officials Work To Calm Fears, But Residents Aren’t Taking Anything On Faith
May 16, 2012 11:00 PMTOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) โ Residents in a New Jersey neighborhood have turned on their faucets of late and been shocked to see a green water mystery waiting for them.
CBS 2โฒs Elise Finch spoke with residents of Toms River who are not happy with water flowing from their taps.
โThe water is green coming out of the tap,โ Ed Lefebvre said.
The green color doesnโt stand out in small amounts, but when residents use it in large volumes to fill up pools and bathtubs, it becomes very noticeable.

#21 TT: We held the reception after a memorial service this weekend at our home in Glorious Copperfield. There were over 35 guests in our house and yard for this event, it simply would not have been possible in one of those designer teeny spaces. Further, everything must be put away as soon as one is finished with it, otherwise you are tripping over it; that level of discipline eludes me.

“There is no way an all-white jury could provide justice in this case”, he [Quannybear] said. โThat was not a jury of our peers, Chadโs peers, or the cityโs peers.โ He called for a protest at 4 p.m. Thursday outside the Harris County criminal courthouse.
You beady-eyed fool, it wasn’t supposed to be a jury of Holley’s peers, it’s a jury of Blomberg’s peers. He was the one on trial. Chad Holley was already tried and convicted of burglary by a jury of his peers.

Edd Hendee was discussing the “all white jury” issue this morning.
Out of a panel of 60 potential jurors, it was narrowed down to 19. Of these, two were black. One of those worked for the DA’s office, and was struck. The other one claimed to have been arrested several times “unjustly,” so he was struck as well. The jury was pulled from the remaining juror candidates.
If more blacks would arrive for jury duty, the final ratio might have been higher. Looking back, when I’ve gone for duty, there were a larger number of white people than black in that huge room. Never really thought about it before, but Edd’s right.

You have veered into the over-riding principal of the “welfare mentality” which is: “we want something for nothing.” They (in general terms, not absolute) do not want to work and then they gripe because they don’t have any money and it is society’s fault so therefore society (Uncle Sugar) has to give them money for nothing; they make all kinds of excuses for not serving on juries, then gripe because a case doesn’t fall their way because there are none of “their kind” on the jury.

Over the years I’ve had some mixed feelings about Quanell X. At times he seemed to be almost reasonable, other times kind of clownish, and then he would show up as just another Al Sharpton/Louis Farrakahn wanna-be.
But this:
That was not a jury of our peers
shows his true colors. Quannel isn’t interested in justice, truth, mercy, or any other positive. He’s a race baiting, prevaricating, Anglo-hating charlatan. He’s not interested in bettering the lives of the African American community, he’s committed to inflaming racial conflict to further his own ends and (I suspect) line his own pockets.
How does Quannell define a “peer”? Would that be someone who would vote for Blomberg’s conviction, regardless of the evidence, just because he’s white?
Who’s really the racist here?

Well, this could cause more birther problems for Obama:
Note from Senior Management:Andrew Breitbart was never a “Birther,” and Breitbart News is a site that has never advocated the narrative of “Birtherism.” In fact, Andrew believed, as we do, that President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.
Yet Andrew also believed that the complicit mainstream media had refused to examine President Obama’s ideological past, or the carefully crafted persona he and his advisers had constructed for him.
It is for that reason that we launched “The Vetting,” an ongoing series in which we explore the ideological background of President Obama (and other presidential candidates)–not to re-litigate 2008, but because ideas and actions have consequences.
It is also in that spirit that we discovered, and now present, the booklet described below–one that includes a marketing pitch for a forthcoming book by a then-young, otherwise unknown former president of the Harvard Law Review.
Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
The story goes on, but the fact that Obama himself made the claim to have been born in Kenya will be troublesome for him.

Actually, this looks more like what Elizabeth Warren did: claiming to have some sort of unwarranted minority status in order to gain access to gummint benefits or a leg up in the hiring process. There have been claims made that the reason Obama has not released transcripts and other college records is that he claimed foreign student benefits while attending Columbia.

Actually, this looks more like what Elizabeth Warren did: claiming to have some sort of unwarranted minority status in order to gain access to gummint benefits or a leg up in the hiring process.
Wart Churchill did the same thing. Let’s run with that for just a moment; JugEars is on record stating that he was born in Kenya AND in Hawaii. It is now up to him to provide proof that he was in fact born in Hawaii, otherwise he is a criminal usurper of the presidency. Because he is on record (from his own mouth and written word) of having been born in both Kenya and Hawaii, he has proven beyond any doubt that he is a liar and his word is worthless; therefore he must prove his identity. The fact that he is using a Social Security number from a dead man (number originates in Connecticut) as his own is identity theft; which, I am pretty sure qualifies as a “high crime or misdemeanor” so in the words of Ricky Ricardo: ‘he got some ‘splainin to do’.

Just found out our neighbors across the street were broken into. The robbers had plenty of time. They not only stole whatever they could lay hands on – including the ATV in the backyard, they tore the furniture up as well.

JugEars is on record stating that he was born in Kenya AND in Hawaii.
There is no way to track who wrote some ad copy in a brochure 21 years ago. It doesn’t do any good to claim that Obammy himself wrote it, or dictated it to a writer, without any possibility of proof.
The fact that the brochure has been dredged up is itself enlightening!

AB makes my proposal look lame. However, the Mrs. and I are coming up on 15 years of wedded bliss so I must have done something right.
BTW, do not be surprised if LD and AB have a bunch of heretofore unknown aunts and uncles show up on their special day. You did say smoked meat and open bar… right!?! ๐

I was hired by the vast worldwide socialist/UU conspiracy whose plan was to elect a Kenyan born black dude president.
It wouldn’t be done from birth, that’d be silly. You’d pluck him out of Indonesia in his 20’s, take him like a piece of silly puddly, mold and shape him, write a couple fictional auto biographies, stick him in the Chicago political machine and BOOM, there’s your composite preezy.

MSM reation coming in on the pamphlet story. Woman at the ageny says she made a mistake—no big deal.
And by now, if anyone doesn’t know how Brietbart worked (and now those who arry on his legacy), ths is just the tip of the iceberg.
They’ve already come out with more.
Archive.org shows that the Dystel website used the following biography for Obama as of April 3, 2007:
BARACK OBAMA is the junior Democratic senator from Illinois and was the dynamic keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. His first book, DREAMS FROM MY FATHER: A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE, has been a long time New York Times bestseller.
Obama launched his presidential campaign in February 2007.
By April 21, 2007, the Obama bio had been changed to state that Obama was born in Hawaii:

As Catholics, the wedding is a public ceremony, open to anyone. However, the reception is invite ONLY! Don’t freak us out! The Big Day is too close to tease about something like a jillion bloggers showing up to eat all the food! AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!
