I’ve heard a couple of commentaries that make sense. This is only an opinion, no links. Goons are now first in line to be paid in a bankruptcy making bonds a higher risk in goonized businesses. Borrowing money with bonds is a higher risk for such afflicted businesses and now costs more. Seems reasonable.

I’m no fan of Mittens. But a guy who knows NASCAR owners is probably a better choice to run a large operation than a guy who could not pay his hotel bill only a few years ago.
The Chron is running this under ‘News’. I guess we are safer when he does this than passing decrees.

SAN DIEGO – A San Diego high school student has filed a lawsuit claiming she was humiliated after her art teacher refused to give her a hall pass and she was forced to urinate in a bucket.
She should have put a crucifix in the bucket. Then it would have been “art”.

Good morning Hamsters. No fog and 67, just dampish but not uncomfortable. Darn, it’s too dark at 6 and 7 and even 7:30. Main concern about the dark is for school bus drivers and children waiting for the bus. It isn’t safe IMHO.
Heard on KSEV this morning that Prime Minister Cameron was asked by Obama what he thought about the basketball game they were flown to in AF 1 last night. The reply was “Fast and furious.” 😉 Yea for the PM. Wonder if that comment flew over Obama’s head. Bet the PM knows where that bust of Sir Winston Churchill is and is waiting to take it back to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. come January 2013.

I saw this story in the Chron this AM and am glad that I found a link to it via Google.
HEADLINE:FDA receives complaint about Houston company that stored Gov. Perry’s stem cells
In an eight-page letter sent last month, University of Minnesota bioethicist Leigh Turner called on the FDA to investigate Celltex Therapeutics Corp., which banks people’s stem cells for future reinjection in the event of disease or injury. Perry was the company’s first customer last year.So let me get this straight, Celltex Therapeutics takes a willing adult’s stem cells and processes them for that willing adult to have his own stem cells re-introduced into his own body to help with tissue regeneration, and this person in Minna-wissinsota wants the FDA to
harass and intimidateinvestigate; for what purpose? It looks like another example of a forward thinking company in the business to help people being pummeled via legal blackmail by those who would be left behind. It looks like the TN in Minn, is wanting the govt to pick winners and losers, and we wonder why cancer treatment hasn’t really gotten that much better over the last 30 years. Cancer treatment has not kept up the same pace of improvement as have cars, computers, or communications technology, or oil exploration and production.
Let’s get back to the original topic, what do you think would work better in a human body, a genetically identical replacement part that is produced by the body itself or a metal and petroleum product imitation replacement part which the body has a natural inclination to reject? Which do you think will produce fewer side effects?
Let’s look to the future a decade or two, by then we should be able to grow genetically identical replacement hearts, lungs, kidney and pancreases and whatever other organs need replacing and eliminate the need for human doners; are those in the business of living doners going to sue so they can stay in business when much better alternatives exist? -

Gov, Bobby Jindal must be on the right track because the teacher unions are in an uproar, trying to defend their failure(s):
HEADLINE:Louisiana Teachers Cancel Class to Protest Education Reform Bill
Later this week, on Wednesday and Thursday, education committees in both houses of the state legislature will be considering the governor’s proposed package. The reforms include moving toward a voucher program, eliminating teacher tenure programs, and changes in teachers’ pay.And so, in response to these reforms even being considered, “at least three school districts are canceling classes and telling children to stay home to allow school employees the chance to lobby the legislature,” according to Aaron Baer, the governor’s deputy communications director.
Seems to me the unions don’t want anybody else to mess with their bird nest on the ground. . .

#32: I think there are more of him than you may realize. This relates to the item I posted on #21 above, those in a position of power and control will do and say almost anything to maintain and/or increase that power and control. Right now the black “leadership” control the bulk of the black population and they will do and say anything to maintain that control.
Those who make artificial replacement parts for the human body will do or say anything to prevent the competition from bio-identical parts. Those who market substitute/synthetic hormones for the human body (pregnantmareurine) which contains estrogen compounds that are never found naturally in a human woman, fight vigorously via the FDA against bio-identical hormone replacements (as opposed to hormone substitution). Why, because you can not patent a bio-identical human hormone. Follow the money. -

Just cancelled our HBO, Starz, Showtime & Cinemax package with Direct TV, which is priced at $45/month. Never used it, but it came as a freebie when Direct TV made the gigantic mistake of giving it and the NFL games free to new subscribers but not to the longterm subscribers. When the hail of complaints woke up management, they relented and gave the same stuff to the longtermers. I let it be known the reason was to dump HBO because of its rotten assault on Sarah Palin called Game Change. Tried to be nice to the poor lady taking the call–not her fault. She asked if it was only HBO we wanted to pitch, and I said remove all of the package. Direct TV has been getting lots of calls she said. 🙂

US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta is feared to have been the target of a suicide attack at Camp Bastion today.

#68 TT: The rapist and the judge both need to endure 500 lashes or death, whichever comes first. In the comments section I found this”
1 – From the bible
Atheist Mike (Guest) 08:23am GMT, 11:23am KSA, 14/03/2012
Deuteronomy 22:23-24: ‘If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.’…. This is why we hate religion. The NASB Updated version has this for the cited passage:
Deut 22:22-24
22 “If a man is found lying with a married woman, then both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman; thus you shall purge the evil from Israel.
23 “If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them to death; the girl, because she did not cry out in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor’s wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.
NASUAs you can see the two citations are not the same thing. Athiest Mike just made a glaring example of bearing false witness. I take this as an object lesson to everyone; that when someone quotes Scripture, it is in your best interest to look it up and read the passage, both before and after the cited passage, to make sure that you get the correct context and meaning. Atheist Mike, like so many atheists (frequenters of this page are specifically excepted from this statement) will twist and lie about the Scriptures so that they can ridicule them.
It is possible that he actually meant this passage:Deut 22:28-29
28 “If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her and they are discovered, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife because he has violated her; he cannot divorce her all his days.
NASUThe word translated in English as seize is this in the Hebrew:
OT:8610
OT:8610 cp^T*
taphas (taw-fas’); a primitive root; to manipulate, i.e. seize; chiefly to capture, wield, specifically, to overlay; figuratively, to use unwarrantably:KJV – catch, handle, (lay, take) hold (on, over), stop, surely, surprise, take.
If you look at the v22-24 passage; both the actors were to be stoned because she did not cry out; with the implication that she was willing, therefore an adulteress/fornicatress. In the last citation, if the woman cries out, she is not willing and would not likely have to be married to the man and he would face stoning. If she agreed to marry him, other sections in Scripture state that he may not withhold food from her, nor marital relations and if he mistreats her, (knocks out a tooth or eye, etc) there are punishments for that as well.
I realize that is not the topic of the article, but I found it to be interesting. -

Looks like the Rooskies are going to attempt to trespass on sovereign US Territory.
Headline:Russia to finally send man to the Moon
A spacecraft will “conduct a demonstrative manned circumlunar test flight with the subsequent landing of cosmonauts on [the Moon’s] surface and their return to Earth” by 2030, according to a leaked strategy document from Russia’s space agency, Roskosmos. The article has lots of opportunities for snarkiness, like here:
Last week, Roskosmos suffered another humiliation after reports that the head of the agency, Vladimir Popovkin, had sustained head injuries after an alleged brawl at work.
I guess ol’ Vlad popped off to the wrong guy.. . . . . .

An interesting study regarding man/woman relationships.
Researchers have begun to explore the cognitive impairment that men experience before and after interacting with women. A 2009 study demonstrated that after a short interaction with an attractive woman, men experienced a decline in mental performance.
I recall another study that implied an inverse relationship between a man’s IQ and the size of her assets.

They disarmed the US and Afghanni troops prior to the arrival, according to this story. The same story states that the trip was planned for months in advance, but not announced. The disarming, IMHO, would make the visiting VIP more vulnerable to attack and the very act of disarming would alert those who are so inclined that there will be a softer target close by so let’s give it a shot.
If I were a terrorist and I saw unusual activity at a base and then saw that a group was gathering and that they were disarmed, I could come to no other conclusion that a VIP visit was imminent and a big strike could be achieved.

I haven’t done a Windows update in two years.
For a number of months, my connection was so bad, I couldn’t get through an update.
So I shut the damn auto off.
I’ve been thinking there’s no way to accomplish it now. May have to take it to someone with a fast connection and pay them to do the update. I just don’t know.Or, when it blows up, to heck with the desktop and just buy an iPad.

According to this article the plane had not yet or was in the process of landing:
The truck crashed as Mr. Panetta landed at Camp Bastion, a British airfield that adjoins Camp Leatherneck, a vast United States Marine base in Helmand Province, next to Kandahar.
/snip
Defense officials said Mr. Panetta’s plane had been diverted away from the truck, which ended up in the ditch off the ramp, an area where Mr. Panetta’s plane had been expected to park. The Pentagon press secretary, George Little, said he did not know whether the truck reached the ramp parking area “while we were landing or before or slightly after. Was there a change in the pattern of behavior at the base, which could indicate a VIP was coming or was this simply a grand coincidence? It does not take a whole lot of planning to carjack a vehicle and ram it into a plane. Do you think that the Taliban might be watching patterns and deviations of patterns at the military bases of the “foreign occupiers” to look for an opportunity to attack?

“The Apostle Paul said of those who do not love the truth in the last days that God would send a ”deluding influence“ upon them ”so that they will believe what is false, in order that all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.” That‘s precisely what we’re witnessing in the earth today.”

The above Scripture passage comes from the 2nd chapter of Timothy. The whole chapter is really worth a read as it gives a glimpse of the end of the age before Messiah returns. Read the chapter and look for parallels today, particularly with the left.

The President’s nominees now take four times longer than his predecessor’s nominees just to reach a vote in the Senate,
Hogwash. There are 39 Bush federal appellate appointees and 23 Bush federal district judges that never reached a vote in the Senate. Given that the clock on their nominations stopped ticking when the president left office, your statement is factually inaccurate. Furthermore, we won’t have a valid comparison for another 10 months, when our Nubian Prince leaves office.

WAR AGAINST WOMEN: Woman Raped At Occupy New Haven. #Occupyfail.
At the exact moment Jon Favreau is receiving high praise in pre-inaugural media puff pieces, the 27-year-old chief speechwriter for President-elect Barack Obama (not Jon Favreau, the Hollywood actor/ director) finds himself in a minor mess over a photo from a recent private party showing him groping the breast of a cardboard cutout of Hillary Rodham Clinton as an unnamed pal wearing an “Obama staff” T-shirt kisses and feeds her beer.
If you haven’t seen it, imagine the early stages of the barroom rape scene of “The Accused” with Jodie Foster. Or think prosecutor Mike Nifong’s graphic (though false) descriptions of the Duke lacrosse party. Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson danced to a similar tune at the 2004 Super Bowl.
Fraternities have been closed for less.
And I hear from the media that those GOPers just hate women folk.

I see, so your point is that there is no comparison possible until Obama finishes his second term? How convenient.Obama’s judicial nominees wait an average of 93 days to be confirmed, according to Senate Democrats, much shorter than the 22-day average enjoyed by GOP nominees at this point in George W. Bush’s presidency.
FWIW, the current wingnut term of origin for our President is that he’s from Kenya, not Nubia. Calling him Nubian is akin to calling Romney a Gypsy or Santorum Irish. If you must engage in demagoguery , please get your ethnic slurs correct. We wouldn’t want to lower the tone on the couch. 😉

I mean seriously, is there any liberty-loving person in the world who doesn’t view the UN as a supreme joke funded almost entirely by stupid Americans who are trying to garner favor with the rest of the “family of nations”?
A United Nations panel has adopted a report praising Qaddafi-era Libya for its human rights record, a year after the report was sidelined amid international objection.
Countries that hate us will always hate us. There is nothing we can do to change that. Why we continue to fund that anti-American nest of vipers is one of life’s great mysteries. Chalk it up to Stockholm Syndrome, I guess.

I like you and you’re good guy but if you think that ANYONE here believes that line of HS, you must think that we’re all stupid?! You’ve been carrying Romney’s water from the very start, never mind that your guy is pro abortion and pro gun control!! BTW; I didn’t say it, HE DID!!! Just Google it. That said,….if the

#121 Was there a change of behavior prior to the arrival of the VIP other than the disarming of the soldiers?I worked in the S2/S3 of the Command that ran Post Army Airfield at Fort Sill for two years. At the time, Post Field was the largest Army Airfied in the Southwest. The Commanding General of the Post was (IIRC) a two star General. Fort Sill was the main training base for Artillery Officers at the time and there was a large NATO presence on post that included high ranking officers from those countries as well as those from SEATO nations, and they were regularly visited by thier country’s version of members of Congress on taxpayer funded junkets. It was also the testing round for new artillery equipment and procedures so we had our own congress crtters through there, as well as higher ups from DoD. We had regular traffic of VIPs of all kinds through our airfiled.
Normal protocol is for the Commanding Officer of the post to be notified via encrypted message and all preparations for meeting the VIP are made in his office. By Regulation, such plans for VPs of General and above are classified.
For a VIP of Panetta’s stature, he would have been met at the airfield by the Commanding Officer and his Security Detail and officers from his Staff, plus other important Commanding Officers. Even for a two star, that doesn’t amount to a lot of people. Staff would be one each from S1, S2, S3, & S4 plus a few. The Security detail accompanies the CO as a matterof course, and for a two star that’s 2 guys. None of that is out of the ordinary, however. Staff accompaines the CO on inspections as well.
The last person to know that a VIP is inbound is the Air Traffic Controller who generally doesn’t find out until the aircraft s on or near final. He does nothing with that info except inform the airfield Commander, who probably already knows. Any other personnel in and around the area would be those normally found at a combat outpost arfield.
The party greeting the VIP would not arrive too early, but they definetly would not be late. For a VIP of Panetta’s stature, there would be communications with the CO ndeendent of the airfield, andit would be on a secure line.
There really is no way that anybody could get a clue that a VIP was inbound in time to carjack a truck and try to ram it. This is most likely a coincidence. I note that Panettta’s plane was directed around the wreck, which tells me that the event had already occured before he landed, not while he was landing. I wouldn’t make much about the location of the wreck. There aren’t too many places on an active Army airfield at a combat base where passengers disembark, and those are necessarily ones that are the easiest to get a vehicle in and out of. Can’t have you Generals walking too far in that Afghan heat, might muss up the crease in thier starched BDU’s.

That doesn’t answer the question. How is it an ethnic slur? If you “progressives” would spend more time worrying about your own selves and less time being offended in others’ stead the world would be a much better place.

My analogy still stands, refer to Romney as a Gypsy or Santorum as Irish or Gingrich as Italian, the listener will assume there is some property inherent in the assignation that you are attempting to convey.
Or that the speaker is so incredibly WISS that he/she has no business engaging in conversation with human beings or other animated objects; an assumption that in your case I do not believe is true. -

The Obamas are members of the Luo, Kenya’s third-largest ethnic group, which is part of a larger family of ethnic groups, collectively also known as Luo. Linguistically, the Luo language belongs to the Eastern Sudanic branch of the Nilo-Saharan phylum.
The Nilo-Saharan languages are a proposed family of African languages spoken by some 50 million people, mainly in the upper parts of the Chari and Nile rivers (hence the term “Nilo-“), including historic Nubia, north of where the two tributaries of Nile meet.
Now. Piss off.

I’m even more surprised that there’s a belief that there is outrage,, faux or otherwise. Merely a comment in passing. Folks can call Obama Bantu, Bedouin, Bayern or Lithuanian; it’s just as silly as calling him Nubian.
I confess though, I do not understand the Marxist appellation, I thought Marxists were power to the proletariat types and I fail to see the connection. -

Super Dave #129;
I like you and you’re good guy but if you think that ANYONE here believes that line of HS, you must think that we’re all stupid?!
No caca de caballo here, Dave. I’ve always expressed favorability towards Santorum over Romney in the *overall* scope of their politics. I’ve never deviated from that position. I’ve also never declared Romney the best candidate overall though I absolutely do think he’d be a better choice than Gingrich. Like Romney, Santorum has brought moderate Republican thinking into legislation in terms of what bills he has supported but on the social issues, Santorum’s clearly been stronger than Romney. This go around I initially supported Cain and Bachman but dropped them both when it came clear neither could handle the public scrutiny in a manner that would have been winnable. In 2008 I was highly skeptical of Romney though I did a big turn around towards the latter part ofthe primaries to support him. Overall I like him and I give him more credit than lots others here would. I truly do think he’ll be a very good president overall. There will be times when folks like you and I will be disappointed in President Romney, that much is to be expected; but overall both you and I will like him and most likely like him quite a bit. If not then it’ll be me, not you, who’ll be standing around looking like a fool. This presidential election’s been different to me in terms of whom I sought to support. I could not quite pin it down until Hugh Hewitt, who really likes Santorum but has for quite a while pointed to Romney as the GOP winner (has “carried Romney’s water” I guess you can say) expressed the mindset of wanting one candidate to support against Obama. That, I think is exactly what i’ve been seeking all along. Obama’s my main target to eliminate (and feel free to link this expression to whatever left-leaning website you desire, I’ll be more than happy to share my take on who expresses hateful rhetoric) and overall Romney will bring lots of conservatism, including anti-abortion and pro-gun support, to the White House and he’s the most electible candidate. Despite Gingrich’s tempt at prophecying, Mitt Romney’s going to be the GOP nominee, period. I say rally behind him now rather than later.
And thank you for the compliments before saying my post was caca. I think highly of you as well; especially with a decent Pioneer home theater receiver in your living room. 🙂

First off, I doubt Harry Reid will vote for Romney, but John Huntsman will. And 95% of voting Mormons I think is accurate. Second, the lack of Catholic support for Santorum has been one of the most surprising developments during this election cycle for me. 😕

I’ve heard that there is a lack of anthropological evidence of widespread horse use among the Huns. If true, that’s interesting. According to written record, I don’t think there’s any doubt that horses were widely used.

Why would that surprise you? It just shows you Catholics have moved way past “I’m voting for candidate A just because he’s like me” and for no other reason. Hopefully one day blacks and Mormons will do the same and vote for candidates that have their best interest at heart.

Darren, I’m glad that you responded to my post, not sure you got my drift but I don’t have time to elaborate. But about the Huns, I’m sure that you’ve herad the term “Whistling Death” attributed to the F4U Corsair, but did you know that Attila the Hun and his men used arrows that had round holes in the tips so that when they came down they whistled? I read this in National Geographic years ago and today Google is NOT friendly, but I found this: Huns. 😉

Probably because I’d imagine that Santorum, more than any other candidate *would* represent what most Catholics believe to by in their heart. So forgive my frankness but I do not share your conclusion that the lack of Catholic support for Santorum is due to Catholics being more “evolved” voters than blacks or Mormons. I think it has lots more to do with national name recognition but I really do not know for sure.

The Quit and the Dead
By Mark Steyn
March 14, 2012 10:47 A.M.
Pamela Geller was struck by that ad The New York Times ran the other day, “It’s Time To Quit The Catholic Church“, an “open letter to ‘liberal’ and ‘nominal’ Catholics”. So she sent in her own ad, “It’s Time To Quit Islam“, an “open letter to ‘moderate’ Muslims”. Analogous artwork, same pitch, only difference being the intended target. The Times’ Senior Vice-President for Corporate Hogwash called to tell Miss Geller that – surprise! surprise! – they were way less eager to rush this one into print:
“Bob Christie, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for the New York Times, just called me to advise me that they would be accepting my ad, but considering the situation on the ground in Afghanistan, now would not be a good time, as they did not want to enflame an already hot situation. They will be reconsidering it for publication in “a few months.”
So I said to Mr. Christie, ‘Isn’t this the very point of the ad? If you feared the Catholics were going to attack the New York Times building, would you have run that ad?’ ”
Thus the courage of the secular left: If you’re going to be “provocative”, it’s best to do it with people who can’t be provoked. Pamela is right. If you want to be treated with respect by The New York Times and the rest of the multiculti establishment, make it clear you’re willing to kill them. That’s an interesting message to send.

Soledad O’Brien’s Twitter account has gone dark. Apparently her meltdown over Critical Race Theory and the ensuing Twitters of her followers letting her know how wrong she was, was more than she could handle. Joel Pollack, her guest during the original debate (before she pulled in another academician to help her cover her butt), had this response:
O’Brien apparently felt the sting [of last week’s debate over Critical Race Theory], because this morning she revisited the topic with Dorothy Brown, a law professor at Emory University. Over a seven-minute segment, O’Brien and Brown agreed that Pollak and Breitbart.com had it wrong in every possible way. As a CNN viewer, I’ll gladly take the initial, contentious segment over O’Brien’s chorus-of-consensus do-over.
It’s a shame Ms. O’Brien chose this route. Debate is good; it’s healthy, and it’s important. More voices and discussion, especially with those with whom you disagree, is always a good thing.
Here’s hoping Ms. O’Brien is up for another round soon.

What??? LOL! Mormons have more in common with Santorum’s positions that Romney’s. They are voting for him at 95% rates because he’s Mormon.

I think if “the Mormon” candidate was John Huntsman then you would have seen much more votes go towards Santorum than him. Furthermore, “Romney” is a name very well known among Mormons as opposed to “Santorum”.

Also, I think in a presidential election between Rick Santorum and Harry Reid then you’d see the Mormon vote go 95% to support Santorum.

Even the first Catholic president only got 70% of the Catholic vote.

I’ve also been wondering if Catholic voters overall are more liberal-leaning? That would explain their 70% vote for the nation’s first Catholic president as opposed to far less than 70% voting support for Santorum. If they are more liberal-leaning than what would the primary reasons be?

I was thinking that myself. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, it was under John F. Kennedy that blacks began to leave the Republican Party and support the Democrat Party based in large part to their support for social programs.

One of two reasons:
First, you’re still awake so that you can stare at my awesomely gorgeous gravatar or, second, you’re still awake so that you can stare at your awesomely gorgeous gravatar. It’s a toss up.

A certain doctor in Japan may soon need a street name for prison recognition. I say, “Italian Samurai”.
Ferrari owner in Japan arrested after posting video of his high-speed run
For awhile it looked as if a car gve him a race challenge. We’ll call that driver “Little White Ninja”. Ninjas are known for getting samurai into trouble.

And, let’s face it, the anti-Catholicism in America. The Democrats ran Al Smith against Herbert Hoover and Catholics took a beating, the Bishops didn’t forget that. Look up Know-Nothings, convent inspection laws, KKK, or Paul Blanshard. Kennedy represented a a triumph over these knuckleheads.
As recently as 2000 the House refused to appoint a Catholic Chaplain, although Father O’Brien was the clear candidate. -

I’d ay this is a witness for Breitbart’s success:
Moving On and I Hope You’ll Join Me
I got this heads up from Patterico’s site. He “lost” a great blogger to Breitbart as well.

From your link:
…has provoked an uproar and raised politically sensitive charges of anti-Catholic bias that could hurt the Republican Party in the fall elections.
Oh, pease. While between the Chicago Sun Times and Chicago Tribune, I’d say the Tribune is clearly the more pro-Republican paper it’s still based in…Chicago. Such hyperbolic nonsense is expected. I can’t speak for others, but, who cares if the House only chooses Protestants? Protestants represent the country well and in fact, were it not for the Protestant movement in particular, we would not have the many freedoms which we enjoy today. Unless House chaplain is an ‘office” position, i really don’t care if that position is Protestant-only until the Second Coming so laong as those the House chooses to fill that position is a good person. and, for the resord, I’m perfectly fine with a Catholic filling in that position as well.

From Hewitt:
Santorum told me on Monday that he will play out the match, and that is certainly not only his right — it is also an earned position. He has fought from nowhere to Avis status, and in doing that he has again confirmed that the GOP has a deeply committed and absolutely crucial segment that takes seriously the “social issues” as well as the threat posed by Iran and which also honors Santorum’s long-standing commitment to the party’s core values.
There is also a benefit, diminishing but still real, in pushing Team Romney to stay focused on improving his messaging and his organization, in continuing to press him to over-communicate with the party’s activists in the effort to assure that they will be part of the winning effort in the fall.
Now both Romney and Santorum have to consider each other as they move toward the primary endgame. Each has showed signs of impatience with the other, a reflection of the inevitable fraying of good will that comes from long days and endless rounds of interviews and rallies.
Both are strong conservatives. Both have worked together in the past and will work together in the future. Romney has to see and treat Santorum as a key ally in the upcoming effort to unseat a sitting president. Santorum must act not just as a fierce competitor but also as part of a much larger team that has to defeat the president in the fall. Both men must see Newt for the idea machine and instant energy drink that he is.
President Obama can be beaten. The next few weeks can be part of a very deliberate and useful turning of attention to his woeful tenure and the awful prospect of another four years under his ruinous fecklessness. No towels have to be thrown in, but each candidate has to consider the party as a whole and not just his own standing within it.
Well said.
