I have a question about image #7 on the topic link. The street scene in St Petersburg: What are all those wires criss-crossing the street at odd angles, and what are the objects centered over the street below those wires? I assume the wires are from the 2010 view.

TT: Trying to get hard-core libs to actually read and understand the original intent of the two foundational documents of our republic is like trying to get a bi-polar, paranoid schizophrenic with borderline personality disorder, to accept the fact that they are mentally ill; it simply is not going to happen. These people need meds in a big way to allow them to have the capacity to function in normal civilized society, but the paranoia will not allow them to understand that they are sick and that their family actually loves them and wants to help them. They refuse to take the meds because they think someone is trying to poison or control them or they take them for a while, start to feel good and then quit taking them “because they aren’t working”. Most people who are afflicted in such a way are homeless, unless there is substantial family money to allow some sort of life for them.
I think Michael Savage is correct, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder. -

RE: Roku box
Saw a question on yesterdays threads about the Roku box. It is a small box that connects to your TV and then pushes internet content to your TV. It provides “apps” aka Channels to content providers. Mostly paid subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu+ etc. There is free content also. You go to the ROKU channel store after you hook the thing up and it is alacart as to what is available.
BSue and I watch it mainly for movies on Netflix. If you are an Amazon prime subscriber you can get their “free” movies along with Amazon provided rentals. Hulu+ has it’s strengths too. Ya kinda gotta do your homework to see what fits your needs. A lot of services adding a lot of programming but not one fits the bill for everything.
Once you pay for the Roku box and I suggest their top of the line model about $149 for wireless streaming, your recurring fees are the subscriptions you pay to the providers. BTW I have one box in the Bedroom and the wireless reception is really good.
I cannot get cable here in the woods and I got real tired of paying full boat for Sat TV and watching 5 stations. I have over the air antenna which provides all the local stations. On the Roku box I have Netflix for Movies/News (Fox News sux over the internet btw)/Plenty of free content providers including movies. For sports NBA season pass and all the ESPN and ESPN 3 via a laptop hooked up to the TV. I have cut my Sat Bill down from $70+ a month to about $10 a month. When BSue wants her NBA we subscribe for +- $100.
The only thing I mis from cable/Sat is Fox News when something major is going on. But LOL we get 24 hour coverage through Al Jazeera and a few other 24 hours world news shows. As fodder for discussion after watching English Al Jazeera and having watched Fox News it is my opinion their is not a hairs breadth difference in what is reported opinions and everything. Watch it and you will see what I mean.
Duh womenz ain’t bad looking either. Woohoo.

Those who freely took the enlistment oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic are surely spinning in their graves and gagging at the thought of suffering the likes of Mr. Panetta.

I have always been for ABO (Anybody But Obummer). I am not thrilled with the frontrunner, Mitt Romney. I have been for Newt ever since he entered the race. With Romney, the Dummycrats will get to use “class warfare” to the max. It’s going to be the “rich” guy against the “poor” guy. What bothers me the most about Mitt is the fact that he had four years to polish up his campaign and somehow he still looks amateurish out there. He should have been able to anticipate the questions and problems they were going to throw at him. He has not been able to get more than 50% of the vote but a couple of times. And if you add up the votes the two conservatives got then he loses most of the time. So whoever the RINO’s put up, I’m voting for him. There is no way this country can survive four more years of Obummer. I do think there are plenty of pitfalls ahead of the election that could easily sink the Obummer ship. My pick is a possible book that vets Obummer like he should have been vetted the first time around.

Digital gauge says 0.04″ for the last 24 hours so that’s what we record on the calendar. Put Color Star fertilizer in all the flower pots in advance of the promised rains to keep the blooms coming. They certainly brighten the patio on a gray day like today.

I can see as do some others, that we are rapidly approaching the point where civil war (what a great contradiction in terms) becomes unavoidable. There may be more than 2 sides to the war, but one will be those that think the constitution is outdated and really does not matter anymore, like the current usurping occupant in the WH and another will be those that insist that the constitution means what it says and deviation from what it clearly states equals criminal, treasonous behavior and should be treated as such. One big grievances could be welfare, those who refuse to work demanding more money from the taxpayer and those taxpayers refusing to continue to agree to being extorted.

I beleive the objects suspended below them are street lights. If you look at the images that have the wires, you won’t see any lamp posts on the sidewalks.

At issue is an amendment to legislation funding transportation projects from Republican Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota that would authorize construction of the 1,661-mile (2,673-kilometer) pipeline. Environmental reviews required by law prior to construction would be deemed satisfied.

Got my Tonidoplug. Works great wired. The wireless sucks. Reading the threads apparently primetime wireless is not yet due to drivers. I am considering blowing a gasket and then getting a cheap wireless access extender and moving this thing back to another room which is what I was gonna do anyway had the wifi part worked as it should.

I can only speak to the situation in Washington County.
Like everything else plant-wise, it’s a strange year. The bluebonnet cycle is uncharacteristically spread out.
In some areas they are peaking. In other areas they are about halfway there.
Formerly reliable areas are sparse – perhaps 50% of a normal year.
And the rains seem to have boosted vegetative growth (stems and leaves) but there are less blooms per plant.
And Indian Paintbrush is rarely seen. But they might come on after it warms up some more.
I could still get surprised, but my predication is for a sorry year up there in East Washington County. -

I tried to watch that clip a couple of days ago but due to a lot of lag in my internet connection that day I simply gave up on it so I’m glad you posted it here. The panelist who asked Pollack about being afraid of blacks was quite apologetic (arguing in favor of) judging Pollack based on the color of his skin. As for amy Holmes, if I’m not mistaken, she participates in panel discussions with Glenn Beck and his crew of panelists. I never watched any of them but they are available (though they do seem to be taken offline rather quickly after release) to anyone who cares to see any of them.

For those interested in the White House, regardless of the occupant. The White House page carries a picture of the day of the Presidents activities, photographed mostly by Peter Souza. I’m sure there was one for the previous occupant, I don’t recall seeing it on their web page. The monthly photographs are the most interesting, and portray the kind of openness that folks living in foreign lands don’t see in their government except on special occasions.

Having been to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall several times, I assure you that the statue of Mayakovsky is still there. I suspect Larenkov adjusted the size and perspective to get the pictures to overlap correctly.

I noticed this morning that Carbonite is still running a Limbaugh voiced ad on KTRH in the mornings. This might be why.
