Love Newt Gingrich or not, you gotta love how he refuses to let the media define him, lead him, or push him around.

When it comes to handling the media, you gotta admit – Newt has the biggest pair we’ve seen in a loooonnnnngggg time. It kinda reminds me of this character:

I’m not endorsing Gingrich’s nomination, but I sure love to see him smack the elitist media.

Well, here’s my down and dirty analysis. Mittens is Obama lite, Santorum is a big government social conservative, Ropa is living in the past where a foreign policy of isolationism will no longer work, and Newt, who does have a conservative history (Contract with America, regaining Republican control of the House after 40 years of Dem rule). It’s nice to see someone stand up and bark back at the lib media, and hopefully that would translate to other areas where actually taking a stand and showing some backbone seem to have disappeared.
The fact that he’s a horndog might even induce some Dems to get on board. Looks like our best hope this go around.

The fact that he’s a horndog
To be fair, I think he’s a recovering horndog. He converted to Catholicism a couple/few years ago. That sort of thing usually marks a significant change in outlook & behavior.

Russians catch a couple of British spies red-handed. They were using an electronics-loaded plastic rock to communicate with their agents. Fortunately for them, they had official cover, but the Russians still decided not to PNG them.
Russia’s then President Vladimir Putin chose not to expel the British diplomats involved — the usual practice when officials are exposed as spies — claiming that Britain would only send more capable officers to replace them.
“Let’s suppose we expel these spies, others will come and they may be smart,” Putin said.
It’s the wagonburner antibiotic theory. Most people use antibiotics incorrectly and end up only killing the weak germs off.

They ought to use the dumb-a$$ to pay tribute to the school board.

You know it has to be really bad when the Ds have to draw on the Carter admin “windfall profits tax” for inspiration.
HEADLINE: Dems propose ‘Reasonable Profits Board’ to regulate oil company profits
Guess who gets to decide what a “reasonable profit” is?
The Gas Price Spike Act, H.R. 3784, would apply a windfall tax on the sale of oil and gas that ranges from 50 percent to 100 percent on all surplus earnings exceeding “a reasonable profit.” It would set up a Reasonable Profits Board made up of three presidential nominees that will serve three-year terms. Unlike other bills setting up advisory boards, the Reasonable Profits Board would not be made up of any nominees from Congress.
The bill would also seem to exclude industry representatives from the board, as it says members “shall have no financial interests in any of the businesses for which reasonable profits are determined by the Board.“So let me get this straight, you are going to have a board to determine what constitutes “reasonable profits” for a particular industry and those who sit on that board will know nothing about how that industry operates or what risks it faces or what costs are involved; yeah that will probably work. This is simply the attempt to put into action this threat.
You will have outright idjits like Muddy Waters, who, after hearing how much it costs to simply drill a dry hole offshore, will ask the question with incredulity “Please tell me, why in the world would you ever want to drill a dry hole??” -

Santorum had a good showing last night. I actually was impressed. He’s the first camdidate to actually go after Mittens on Obamneycare, and he took it to Newt, too. Unfortunately, its probably too late.
But yes, it IS nice to have a Champion fighting for what you beleive in for a change. For all of Newt’s faults, that is his shining strongpoint. Some folks just don’t understand that having someone like that fight as hard as he has is what most of us think we need, and we have needed for a long, long, time.

Newt kicked that little PrOpObummagandist Media stooge’s arse in that opening question.–For that he deserves righteous accolades.
I’m just waiting for an interview with Hugo Hussein Obumma’s former cocaine/pot dealer.
I can just see it now..Maybe the MSNBC spitter can ask him these questions.
And how much coke did he snort?
Did he use one straw or two?
Which nostril did he snort more coke up? Must have been the left nostril since he’s a liberal.
Did he ever smoke weed and snort at the same time?
Did he get the munchies? What food did he prefer after a few bong hits?
Did he ever snort before his college final exams?
When he snorted did he believe he was a superhero and what power did he wish he had when he believed he was a superhero?

Has JugEars ever responded to Larry Sinclair’s allegations? It kind of falls in line with something that Limbaugh said, no ex girl friend of JugEars has ever come forward with anything positive or negative; it is almost as if they have never existed. If he never had a girlfriend, did he have a boyfriend and if so how many? Were his “relationships” give and take or were they more one sided?

Newt is my choice. I would love to see him debate Obummer and keep that promise of letting Obummer use a teleprompter to at least make it a fair debate. There is no way Obummer can debate his three plus year record that is based totally on “It’s Bush’s fault.” The upcoming year has way too many things that could turn bad for Obummer and any debate will be the least of his problems.

Dennis Miller just mentioned this story.
The mainstream media will spend ten days losing their ever-loving minds blaming a Sarah Palin campaign map a killer never saw for that killer’s actions, but this news about a confessed terrorist admitting that a clip from Brian De Palma’s “Redacted” “prompted” him to murder two American airmen gets buried at the bottom of a Salt Lake City newspaper article:

This is the first I’ve heard of this.
Things may now be going from very bad to even worse. This January, Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Congressman Charles Dent (R-PA) introduced legislation to empower the federal government to dispossess citizens of their citizenship and send them into stateless exile. The fact that reliable weathervanes of the liberal House GOP establishment like Frank Wolf (R-VA) have co-sponsored this bill confirm that this bill is not an outlier.
Introduced as S. 1698 in the Senate and as H.R. 3166 in the House of Representatives, the Enemy Expatriation Act is expressly designed to “add engaging or supporting hostilities against the United States to the list of acts for which United States nationals would lose their nationality.”
These bills are inconsistent with current law and Supreme Court precedent. They appear to be tailored to cow the American people, without regard for the 14th-Amendment guarantee prohibiting Congress from divesting an American citizen of his citizenship.

HEADLINE:Supreme Court rejects judge-drawn Texas election maps
It is only a partial victory, however:
In its first ruling on political boundary-drawing based on the 2010 U.S. Census, the high court unanimously set aside the interim maps created by federal district court judges in San Antonio.
The high court said it was unclear whether the judges in Texas followed the appropriate standards and sent the cases back for further proceedings.
/snip
Texas Republican officials appealed to the Supreme Court, said the lower-court overstepped its authority and argued the judges should have deferred to the maps drawn by the elected lawmakers. Those maps favor Republican candidates. The officials won at least a partial victory, though the court stopped short of adopting the maps drawn by the Republican-dominated legislature.
The Supreme Court ruled that the judges appeared to have unnecessarily ignored the state’s plans in drawing certain districts and those maps can at least be used as a starting point.
That the high court unanimously set aside the lower federal judge drawn maps is a huge victory in itself. Hopefully we can have reasonable districts drawn that do not guarantee more liberals in congress from Texas.

But the drug designed to help revive his love life can have the same effect on a wilting bouquet.
Apparently just one milligram of Viagra can give cut flowers another week of life.

Men nursing concerns about their sexual performance may not be terribly excited about this discovery.
Nevertheless, there may be some couples who are more excited about the drug’s horticultural application than its principal use.
The handy tip comes from TV gardener David Domoney, who declares: ‘You only need a tiny amount of Viagra to stiffen things up nicely.

#32 Pyro: Very interesting concept, one that I think will blossom. For a couple of decades now, I have considered “stick built” houses to be dumb, now that this is on the burner, I can see lots of track housing built using this method. To do an entire community using this technique makes real good sense as the machine does not have to move far to do the next job.
Ask anyone in the transportation business, as long as the vehicle/boat is parked you are not making money so the faster you can get loaded/unloaded the more profitable your venture. IN the 3D house printer case, the less time between jobs due to transport, the faster the payback. -

The problem with any mass produced housing will be developers and HOA’s. Thirty years ago, several companies began producing homes using pre-engineered steel. The concept is the same used in developements we typically see today: several basic designs that can be modified by the customer to a small degree, while the major parts (roof trusses, doors and windows, etc.) are manufactured off site. Most of these developers either own the manufacturers or have existing business relationships with them.
While a home framed of steel is comparable in price, it can be erected in less than half the time of a typical frame house. They can also be built with a completely open floor plan as there are no interior load bearing walls. The exterior finishes are exactly the same as a typical home. Most of them are built with steel roofs that never need replacement. Ever.
But because most developers have a stake in the production of the homes built in thier developements, they write restrictions that prevent steel homes and steel roofs. What would be needed would be for a manufacturer to make an investment not only in production and engineering facilities, but also take the developement risk as well. Even the largest pre-engineered company lacks that kind of nerve, especially when profits can be more easily found elsewhere.

This surprised friends and mildly annoyed my parents, who had visited quite happily. As a Jew, especially one who travels constantly, I was expected at least to have the Jewish state on my radar, if not to be planning a pilgrimage in the very near future. Tel Aviv, they’d say, has wonderful food!
But to me, a deeply secular Jew, Israel has always felt less like a country than a politically iffy burden.
For decades I’d tried to put as much distance between myself and Judaism as possible, and the idea that I was supposed to feel some connection to my ostensible homeland seemed ridiculous. Give me Montenegro, Chiapas, Iran even. But Israel was like Christmas: something I’d never do.
/snipGross ends his brief tour by clubbing on Shabbat and sharing his feelings of Jewish alienation with a fellow Canadian traveler. Gosh, isn’t it hard to be an unaffilated, uninterested, secular American Jew?
The NYT strikes again.

Rev 3:9-11
9 ‘Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie — I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. 10 ‘Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
NASUand
Rom 2:26-29
26 So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision? 27 And he who is physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the Law, will he not judge you who though having the letter of the Law and circumcision are a transgressor of the Law? 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
NASUThe guy, Gross, may be of Jewish origin but he is no more a Jew than JugEars. He says he is a Jew but in reality he is not he is of the synagogue of satan. I guess that is why he works for the NYT.

Erik Erickson notices something that might be something.
A prominent friend told me some weeks ago that he noticed an odd thing. In his state, several people who have been successful in getting themselves known as very probably Mitt Romney delegates for the Republican National Convention are also his supporters. And they are not just my friends’ supporters, they are also long time staunch Ron Paul supporters.
Why then would they, long time staunch Ron Paul supporters, align this year with Mitt Romney? He made calls and talked to friends in other states. All of them saw the same thing happening — long time Dr. Paul supporters working to become delegates to the convention pledging to support Mitt Romney and others.
If the field stays fractured at this level, with only a few people, but each getting delegates enough to prevent the front runner from an outright majority, there will be a second vote at the Republican National Convention.
Delegates are only locked in for their candidate during the first vote. After the first vote, they can vote for whoever they want. So if Mitt Romney is unable to clear an outright majority on the first ballot, suddenly he could see some of his delegates turn on him — turn and go back to Ron Paul.
It is an ingenious strategy premised on a convention where no one gets majority support early. It plays well to a primary calendar where the delegates are first awarded proportionally. Who knows if it is a campaign strategy or just his volunteers, but the Paul campaign has been active now for four years trying to take over local parties.
It may pay off if the GOP doesn’t unite around a candidate soon.

If presidential debates mean anything at all (a question that is is still to be answered) then Newt has to be the obvious choice. I predict that if Mr. Gingrich becomes the Republican candidate there will be an absolute dearth of debates this fall – one or two at most – and Obama may try to weasel out of doing any debates at all.
As for Chuck Norris, I’m much more interested in who Jethro Gibbs is voting for! 🙂

That sound you just heard was a million Romney supporters making a collective gulp.
Gallup’s Editor-in-chief Frank Newport appeared on MSNBC to talk about the polling organization’s national tracking poll of the GOP primary race, which is changing rapidly in the last few days of the campaign for South Carolina. Newport said when their new data comes out at 1 pm eastern, “…we’ll see this gap closing more. Romney was up 23 points over Newt Gingrich. Now it will be down about ten points, so clearly things are collapsing.”

So, here’s my question:
Romney is a wealthy businessman with one term as a Republican governor in a Demcrat state.
Rick Santorum is a lawyer who has spent the last 22 years in Washington D.C.
Newt Gingrich is an academic turned politician who has lived for the last 12 years in the Washington area after spending 20 years as a Congressman and 8 years as Speaker of the House.
So which one is it that’s the lackey of the “Republican Establishment?”

That would be the one that Party Leaders and Pundits are telling us is a true Conservative when he signed a permanent semi-automatic gun ban nad the first Socilaized Medicine law in this country—-the law that served as the modle for Obamacare. The one they keep telling us that we’re traitors if we don’t acknowledge that he’s the only guy who is electable, even though he’s run in three elections and lost two of them—– badly.

Actually, if I had to decide today I’d probably back Gingrich. I don’t trust Romney, and Santorum’s too “big government” for me. Not that Gingrich is anything close to a libertarian.
The reason I asked was to see if I could get yet one more post from you about the evil, wicked Republican Establishment and how they (and Joe Strauss, no doubt) are controlling all of the Republican voters nation wide in order to achieve their nefarious goal (whatever that might be.) Possibly with the help of the Trilateral Commission or the Bilderbergers.
I’ve given up waiting for you to wake up and recognize that the true danger in the election is the ever present possibility of re-electing Barack Obama. He’s a far greater threat to your 2nd Amendment rights than Romney would ever be. Romney’s health care plan – as bad as it is – isn’t nearly as bad as Obamacare.

Ever gone out on a date to change it at the last minute? Mrs. Darren and I went out soon after I got home from work. We wanted to see Sherlock Holmes but by the time we got there there were 14 seats left and most likely along the front row. We declaned and there were no other shows we wanted to see. So we went to Barnes and Noble, window shopped there, went to Target and window shopped there until we decided to get Mrs. Darren a new set of headphones, a calendar that was 50% off and some “Skinny Cows” for a treat for our date. It was actually really nice just to walk around.

Oh my: Gingrich’s lead increasing in final hours before South Carolina vote? Update: Gingrich by 14
He just may take South Carolina (as well as some other states). Hugh Hewwitt today predicted SC to go to Romney and after that ther will be a landslide of support for him. Hewitt’s reasoning is what resonated with me. He said “it’s all about running”. Ising a simple analogy that it’s easier to run downhill, people are seeking the easiest way to get Obama out. I think that hits at why this campaign has resonated differently with me than with previous years. Normally I’d be much more critical of the candidates instead of seeking to rally behind one of them this year. During the 2008 campaign I overcmelots of aprehension for Romney and came to trust him a lot. I never trusted Gingrich and since Santorum (who I like the most) won’t seem to climb above the others (normally I’d back him to the end), I simply do not look t support him primarily because he won’t win. I feel a little guilt for that but I can’t deny that I wanted to rally around someone quickly this go around. Don’t know if this is a temporary viewpoint or if I’m somehow evolving in the outlook. Guess we’ll see in 2020.
