Today is the celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yesterday was the twelfth day of Christmas.
The Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the arrival of the Magi, the wise men from the East, who gave our Lord valuable gifts befitting God Himself. After they finished their adoration of the Christ Child, they returned to their homes without further interaction with the local authorities who wanted to harm the Infant.

Our very own Messiah has offered up his gift to the enemy Magi’s in the form of gutting our military strength where it will hurt us the most – at the ground level, a reduction of 500,000 troops. Once we begin to think that he is done trying to destroy this once great nation, he kicks it again where it hurts.

Gordo, I doubt that congress will approve it. The GOP sure won’t and the Dems worried about reelection will not want to be worried about feeling weak on national defense. 12 months and two weeks and he’s outta there.

What is it about Ds and their never ending desire to gut the military, Jimmah Cawtah, Slick Willie and now JugEars? I think JugEars wants to wiss everyone off so much that it causes riots – that way he can declare civil unrest and institute martial law; no elections and he is prez for life. His ego is plenty big enough to think it could work. [be careful – wb]

Good morning, Hamsterville. I expect today to be the last day in a 16-day streak of work-days. Christmas Day was the only break I took. I’ve been missing my normal schedule where I could plop down on the Couch just about anytime I wanted.

As much as I do not care for the politics of this President, I do think he should be addressed properly, and not as JugEars. In the future, could you please use something more appropriate? Obama bin Biden comes to mind.

Coupla days ago y’all were talking about how long the chain on your woman was ‘sposed to be. A new study shows that all of you were wrong in your estimates (and reasoning). Looks like it has to be long enough to go to the Utotem.
Here’s the study:

I notice where the parents of the 15 year old in Brownsville that the cops killed are whining “they didn’t have the right to do that.”
I got news for them. You point a gun at a cop, you’re going to die.
I got more news for them about Texas law. You point a gun at me, you going to die.

#9 OTL: You are correct, sir. In the cold, harsh, light of reality what that kid did was “suicide by cop” as he gave the cops NO CHOICE.
I got more news for them about Texas law. You point a gun at me, you going to die.

#9 – I heard some rabble rouser this morning complaining about the number of times the boy was shot, including a shot to the back of the head. The fact that he was shot more than once seemed to be the complaint – I guess the PC crowd thinks that deadly force should be applied in some minimalist, PC amount somehow or another – anything to arouse the rabble against the police is fair I guess. The head wound turned out to be the result of his fall and was not a bullet wound, but who needs facts when there is a riot that needs starting.
Now it’s sad that some kid winds up doing what he did, but if these people really cared about public safety, they would publicize this example and hopefully save some other lives down the road – but let’s face it, there’s just no money to be made doing it that way.

#10 OTL: read my #3 above and all this starts to make sense. O knew before he usurped the office that his direction would wake-up and enrage the patriots on both side of the equation all across the country. His goal all along was to slowly ratchet up the crapola to have the outrage reach a peak around Aug 2012; ifn he could make the patriots start to riot and violently protest, preferably killing fed agents, while those agents were abusing the citizenry and violating the Constitution, he could then declare martial law and be prez for life. That is the banana republic, Chicago Marxist thuggist way of doing things. Given his most recent actions and the actions of his crew with Fast and Furious, etc, is this prediction really out of the bounds of feasibility for this bunch or does it fall in the more likely category?

From the article (Based on surveillance tape)
Brownsville Police Chief Orlando Rodriguez said when the teen pointed the gun at officers, they shot back.
Notice that there were multiple officers there. They shot back. 1 round each from 3 weapons pretty well explains it.

Wonder what the legal status of those parents whose kid pointed a gun at the police down in Brownsville is? What would the dad have done if somebody pointed a gun at him? By all indications, the police followed procedure.

#18 OTL: It is really a scary proposition isn’t it? When and where is “the line” drawn in the sand? What will be the final act that pushes everything “over the line” and creates the chaos he so deeply desires? What is the correct response by the people at that point?

It won’t surprise anyone that as of December, the real implied unemployment rate was 11.4% (final chart) – basically where it has been ever since 2009 – and at 2.9% delta to reported, represents the widest divergence to reported data since the early 1980s. And because we know this will be the next question, extending this lunacy, America will officially have no unemployed, when the Labor Force Participation rate hits 58.5%, which should be just before the presidential election.

Reality bites again. This time, it bites the right people.
Yesterday afternoon, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker won a favorable ruling in Waukesha County Circuit Court.
Court rules that the GAB is obligated to honor the rules under statutes and presents further ruling as to the Defendants’ obligations. Court orders the Defendants’ (GAB) is obligated to take such reasonable steps to strike duplicate signatures, ineligible signers/addresses and fictitious names. Court leaves to the GAB to meet it’s obligations and properly overseeing and supervising their staff and with respect to resources they are obligated to use what they have. They are obligated to seek additional resources if needed. GAB to apply sound judgment and discretion. Court is not requiring unlimited investigation and is not preventing the GAB from setting priorities.
In December at a meeting of the GAB, Board staff made several stunning admissions. GAB representative stated, on the record, that all signatures that include a proper date and Wisconsin address are presumed valid, even those of Mickey Mouse and Adolf Hitler.

Fox news did a story on the SEAL that punched Jesse “the bigmouth” Ventura in the face, it was a 2-hit fight – Jesse got hit and then Jesse hit the floor. From what the FOX story said and reading the story from yesterday while on this very couch, I can conclude that Jesse Ventura got off real easy. I also learned that he has moved to Mexico, thus elevating the collective IQ of both countries.

From an email:
In honor of the 44th President of the United States , Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has introduced a new flavor: “Barocky Road”.
Barocky Road is a blend of half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by nuts and flakes. The vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised, and is usually denied as an ingredient. The nuts and flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.
The cost is $92.84 per scoop; so, out of a hundred dollar bill, you are at least promised some CHANGE!
When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but after you pay for it, the ice cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you, at no charge.
You are left with an almost empty wallet, staring at an empty cone, and wondering what just happened. Then you realize this is what “redistribution of wealth” is all about.
Now, aren’t you just stimulated?

Ron Paul to disavow a YouTube spot posted by a supporter that questions whether the former Utah governor is loyal to the United States or China and features shots of his adopted Chinese daughter, Gracie Mei, and an image of Huntsman superimposed wearing a Communist uniform.

The tribal wisdom of my people, passed on from generation to generation, says that
When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, your best strategy is to dismount. However, in our government more advanced strategies are often employed, such as:
1. Buying a stronger (and more expensive) whip.
2. Changing riders.
3. Appointing a committee to study the horse.
4. Arranging trips to other countries to see how other cultures ride dead horses.
5. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included.
6. Reclassifying the dead horse as living-impaired.
7. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse.
8. Harnessing several dead horses together to increase efficiency.
9. Providing additional funding and/or training to increase dead horse’s performance.
10. Doing a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse’s performance.
11. Declaring that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overhead and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do some live horses.
12. Rewriting the expected performance requirements for all horses.
And of course….
13. Promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.

I just wonder, is it possible for a Kennedy to have a private sector job where he actually has to earn a living?
HEADLINE: Another Kennedy set to run for Congress:NEW YORK — Joseph P. Kennedy III, a 31-year-old Massachusetts prosecutor, will run for Congress this year in a bid to resurrect the dynasty of America’s most famous political family, reports said Thursday.
Kennedy is in the final stages of preparing a Congressional run, with hopes to succeed retiring Democratic Representative Barney Frank, the Boston Globe and Rhode Island Public Radio reported, quoting family and Democratic sources.
Should Kennedy win a seat in the House of Representatives, his family would return to national politics for the first time since Patrick Kennedy — son of the clan’s late patriarch Edward Kennedy — left office early last year.I would wissin love it ifn the Kennedy’s were permanently barred from ever serving (rape, pillage and murder taxpayers) in public office again. When was the last time a Kennedy actually held a private sector job?

The current admin reports that the unemployment rate is 8.6% or so. The actual number is closer to 11.4% The admin will tout that 160K or so jobs were added in Dec but neglects to add that those were temporary and clerical; not permanent jobs. The most glaring figure that is not reported is that 400K or so per month drop off the unemployment insurance rolls, the 8.6% number is based on those that are on unemployment. If the 99 weeks runs out and you still have no job, you are no longer counted as unemployed. I guess that at that point you simply dig into the welfare trough and stay there, but you are not considered unemployed. I find this to be outright fraud or in Redneckese, its a wissin lie. I am really tired of being lied to by the govt.
Dya think the LSM is gonna post the real number anytime after August 2012? What do you think the LSM would be speaking of ifn an R was in the white house now and the circumstances were the same? Do you think they would let an R admin get away with this obvious fraud?
THE REAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS AROUND 11.5%; keep that fact handy when you encounter those who do not understand.
I just found out that TT scooped me on this story in #21. OOOOOOOOOpsie! -

I guess that at that point you simply dig into the welfare trough and stay there, but you are not considered unemployed. I find this to be outright fraud or in Redneckese, its a wissin lie. I am really tired of being lied to by the govt.
You’re completely and totally wrong.
Somebody will be here later this evening to prove it to you. -

The 11.6% number is low. U6 (=U3(8.6%) + everybody who is underemployed) is a bit above 15% right now. If you were to use the methodology in place prior to 1994, the U6 number would be around 22%. -

Oh, I kow you’re right. YOU know you’re right. Most everybody else who reads this knows you’re right.
But somebody will be in here later this evening to prove that you’re wrong.
Look forward to that for about the next 10 months or so.

Let’s see—–compression is the problem—and it needs to be a fast compression.
About 3 oz of C4 ought to do it.
But 3 oz of C4 can solve almost all problems anyway.

In the next 10 months I expect to see posters of President Obama in SEAL combat gear riding on horse (with a monocle night vision device) up San Juan Hill and personally dispatching bin Laden. Sounds like a job for Squawkbox.

What the heck, is everybody working or something?
I had to run some errands earlier. When I got back, I realized the sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, and Mirkwood was still waiting. I’ve been moving Mirkwood for 1½ hours, only coming inside to pull a utility map for Hubby. As soon as I’m done, I’m back outside.
So, yep, at least *I* have been working. Cain’t say the same for everyone else on a nice day like today!
PS: Mirkwood is becoming Mt. Mirkwood, as I’ve stripped the vegetation and topsoil off the front of the dirt pile. The back 3/4 is still overgrown, but the front 1/4 is slowly disappearing from top and sides. And the low spots in my yard are becoming less so.

#48 Big45: I understand that the O admin and the LSM will attempt to change history the big question is: What portion of the 50%, who by definition are below average intelligence, will believe it? What proportion of the highly educated “elites” will realize the error of their ways and stop drinking the Kool-Aid?
Let’s take a really bad scenario: The Romneyrroid becomes the R nominee and he actually wins the election. How much of the damage will he be able to undo and how much pain will it cause when he rips the bandage off? Does he have the courage to rip off the scab of O care and cleanse the wound knowing how the left will scream? Does he have the courage to lay off several thousand Federal employees and close some really bad departments, like Energy and Education?
Only the shadow knows. . . . . . -

The man adopted an abandoned Chinese baby. What disgusting person would make a campaign issue out of that? One that supports Luap Nor.

Calcium grinder #52 – hence the reason we put more hard core conservatives in congress to ensure even Rombama stay a conservative course. Don’t let him have liberal bills to put his signature on, and defund anything he does that leaves the reservation.

From the article:
In “iMeet the First Lady,” the first lady talks to Carly about her service to America as a member of a military family and thanks her friends for supporting Carly during her father’s deployment. When Mrs. O. drops by, she winds up playing a game on Carly’s webshow and throws her hands up in victory as she answers a question correctly.
To help promote the show, the stars of series will appear next week at four screening events for military families:
Monday — Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in Miramar, Calif.
Wednesday — Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn.
Thursday — Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Fort Dix, N.J.
Jan. 13 — Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Va.I suspect the Westoro Baptist Church has room on their welcoming committee

From another link within Sarge’s link in #84 comes this jewel.
Republicans all across America like to think of their coalition as the “party of Ronald Reagan,” but have you noticed how frequently the party nominates somebody who opposed Ronald Reagan in 1980?Since Reagan’s last nomination in 1984 the GOP has nominated four men to lead the Republican party into the presidential battle. Three of them were aligned against Reagan in the 1980 presidential nomination and the other was . . . John McCain.
So, here’s the question of the day: why can’t the party of Reagan ever seem to nominate a Reaganite?
Because conservative Republicans are not actually in control of their own party

Hamous #54;
That is a disgusting political attack. Just as bad as the Left attacking Santorum for brining his deceased baby home to play wit him for a time. My cousin married in her mid to lat 30s and was never able to conceive. They adopted a boy here in the states but when adopting a second child in the states became all but impossible, she adopted a girl from China (there’s plenty of unwanted girls born in China). My cousin even went over there with a group of other Americans also adopting to pick up her child. Their daughter is nothing short of a blessing from God.
