I have heard that the Unicorn Meat tastes a lot like chicken with marshmallows and sprinkles. Still, guess it would be better than this:

Apparently from the reviews the ladies love it, especially covered with hot custard. Also check the Frequently Bought With.

Firsticus, from your linkie:
Spotted dick is a British favorite. A steamed pudding containing dried currants, often served with custard.
1)?Spotted? refers to the appearance of the fruit. ?2)Dick? may come from the German word for fat.
Imported from the UK1) That answer is correct
2) Uh, no that is not correct. I saw a show with Roger Daltrey and he advises that the dish was first served aboard pirates vessels. Further he advises and demonstrated, that the dish was served as a long loaf, hence the name is derived from its appearance. I guess that is why the pirates did not live so long. -

Obama creates 1400 jobs. IN Brazil.
He really doesn’t want America to recover………Hawker deserves answers

Hawker Beechcraft’s AT-6 is smaller and lighter than Embraer’s Super Tucano, and the AT-6’s maintenance and training systems and parts supply chain are in place. Hawker Beechcraft’s AT-6 still seems like the natural choice to meet the Air Force’s need for new light attack aircraft, a contract potentially worth nearly $1 billion and 800 Wichita jobs. But if not, the company deserves to know exactly why not.Instead, the Air Force seems determined to deny Hawker Beechcraft an answer for why its bid was the subject of a “pre-award exclusion” in November – a decision that left Brazil-based Embraer as the sole contender for the initial contract to supply 35 planes.A win for Hawker Beechcraft would mean 1,400 U.S. jobs, compared with an estimated 50 to assemble the Super Tucano in Jacksonville, Fla.

From today’s news:28 Signs That U.S. Public Schools Are Rapidly Being Turned Into Indoctrination Centers And Prison Camps
It has been said that children are our future, and right now the vast majority of our children are being “educated” in public schools that are rapidly being turned into indoctrination centers and prison camps. Our children desperately need to focus on the basics such as reading, writing and math, but instead a whole host of politicians, “education officials” and teachers are constantly injecting as much propaganda as they possibly can into classroom instruction. Instead of learning how to think, our children are continually being told what to think. Not only that, our children are also being trained how to live as subservient slaves in a Big Brother police state. Today, nearly everything that children do in public schools is watched, monitored, recorded and tracked. Independent thought and free expression are greatly discouraged and are often cracked down upon harshly. If students get “out of line”, instead of being sent to see the principal they are often handcuffed, arrested and taken to the police station. In addition, law enforcement authorities are using weapons such as pepper spray and tasers against young students in our public schools more than ever before. Children in U.S. public schools are not learning how to live as strong individuals in the “land of the free and the home of the brave”. Rather, they are being trained how to serve a Big Brother police state where control freaks run their entire lives. If we continue to allow all of the liberty and freedom to be systematically drained out of our school children, then there is not going to be much hope for the future of this nation.
The following are 28 signs that U.S public schools are being turned into indoctrination centers and prison camps….

#5 OTL: I hope that Hawker can get this to trial on an expedited basis with full discovery:
1) They must be able to get specifics as to why their bid was “technically unacceptable”
2) They must be able to look at the complete Brazilian bid to compare and contrast that which is and is not “technically unacceptable”.
3) What happened to the Buy American First requirement of all US military procurement?
4) When one considers the $4 BILLION “loan” to Brazil (PetroBras) to develop their offshore oil capacity just after Soros invested heavily in Petrobras and now this latest development; I guess we need to look at all the owners of the company, Embraer, to see how prominently Soros or one of his companies is represented.Just like everything else that emanates from this administration, this reeks heavily of corruption and payoff.

Well, am I honored or what?!
I am just getting to the ‘puter. I had a late night meeting and didn’t get to bed until about midnight. Hubby was snoring away, so it took a while and a couple of earplugs (which didn’t really stop the noise much) to fall asleep. Since I had a bunch of coffee (decaf, they said) with my meeting, I had to make a 2:00 am bathroom run. I had to reinsert ear plugs and push Hubby a bit to get him to roll over (which doesn’t help as much as you’d think) and try to fall asleep again. I must have been deep into REM when the phone rings. I was really groggy, trying to figure out if I was dreaming it or it was real, and opened my eyes in time to see Hubby reach over and check his phone. He closed it and started snoring again, but the ringing continued. It took me a few seconds to realize it was my phone. A phone call at 2:30 or 3:00 am (my self-setting clock is almost a half hour off, go figger) is always cause for alarm, and considering the state of my brother-in-law, I thought the worst had happened.
Instead of hearing my sister’s voice, I heard my son. He sounded anguished, and my first thought was “did I see his car when I came home?” and I couldn’t remember if I did or not. I thought he was in a car wreck and hurt, as his pained call for me to come help him came over the earpiece. “Where ARE you?” “I’m in my room, Mom, my head hurts so bad comehelpmenowplease!” I pulled on some slippers as Hubby asks what’s wrong and I explain that Handsome is sick and I need to go see what’s wrong. I run down the stairs (well, not really, parts of me were still trying to wake up, and running would have been a comical if not dangerous undertaking at that moment) and find Handsome sitting on the edge of his bed, holding his head in his hands. It hurt for him to lay down, and he thought he might throw up. I went and got a basin for him and sat there as he, well, you know. I got him another painkiller, got him to lay down, and laid across the end of his bed for a while, resting but trying not to fall asleep. After about 10-15 minutes, he said he was doing better, so I left to go back upstairs after giving a motherly hug and kiss on the cheek.
I didn’t bother with the ear plugs, because they were by the side of the bed. I was so tired by then a plane could have landed on the house and I probably would have slept through it. I didn’t wake up until about 8:30 this morning, when my Dad called. I laid in bed for another 15 minutes or so, trying to finish waking up. I finally made it through my morning ablutions, and Hubby called. I explained that I was just getting up. He said something about not knowing when I came in last night. I described the whole nighttime schedule to him – he did not remember any of it. The checking of his phone, the queries about Handsome’s condition – none of it registered. I know Hubby talks in his sleep, and I’ve caught him sleepwalking once or twice; I even heard him take a long phone call with a client who had the nerve to call at 11:00 pm and take notes (which he couldn’t read the next morning).
This is an interesting family to live in.
But I’m here and starting my day. Imagine my delight after such a long night, to have unicorn stuff waiting just for me! I’m just waiting for the rainbows to appear.

It seems that Animal Farm is visiting the OWS crowd. Will they never learn that these types of communal living arrangements never work, just for these reasons? Rainbow farting unicorns just don’t exist.

Nan, the disrupter, tried to get a proposal passed tonight for auditing Accounting (Finances). She wanted the Audit to be done by her dubious group Strong Women Rule, which only has 4 members & which she uses to be a spoke at SpokesCouncil. This is very suspect. A Times reporter recently was told I knew something about OWS finances and wanted to talk to me. I declined because I am afraid the press is fishing around for something for which they can criticize OWS. My sense is That Accounting has been hard working, transparent and characterized by integrity. The questions I raised about Finances was about GA approval of so many budget requests that we could soon go broke, although I notice that in recent days people at the GA have become much more cautious and prudent. There is clearly some dissent in the ranks of Occupy on management issues. Someone using the name They Use Fake Names posted this last night:
It doesn’t take a family of ten working 60 hours a week to provide for their family.
It doesn’t take 100 people working themselves to death to provide for a community.
We’re producing nothing. We get nothing. We’re getting a sh*tty quality of life for more work.Yeah, you give money to a group to manage things, and pretty soon, you end up with Napoleon in the farmhouse.
These complaints of a “sh*tty quality of life for more work” shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who’s studied the history of collectivist movements.Last week the same They Use Fake Names account posted the following:
This is what’s really going on:
The people with access to the office get the $100 daily allotment of money. They use it on whatever they want. I heard one member of finance state, ”Buy drugs if you want, just make a receipt for something…”
The OWS COMHUB Group recently ratified the NYCGA so that many groups will be pushed out. In this way the pool of money will have less hands to go for. And the people in the office with direct access to the finance working group will have money longer. Meanwhile, they encourage you to go out and get arrested and stand up for the cause and raise donations! Any and all donations must be taken by the Finance Working Group because your autonomous beautiful self is too stupid to handle the money! The finance group should handle it for you We’re all brother’s and sister’s in one occupation though, so don’t worry! We will take care of you!
Ya, right! After the raid, the finance working group completely disappeared. And time and again they are no where to be found when sh*t hits the fan and people need resources. However, large sums of money have routinely gone missing! And there is no effort made to be transparent or show who the people controlling the money really are…
In a speech in Buffalo, NY, on Jan 29, 1999, responding to a question on tax cuts, Bill Clinton said: “We could give it all back to you and hope you spend it right…”
Yep, sounds very familiar. Liberals can’t trust the peons to spend the money properly. Problem is, they can’t be trusted stewards either.

Limbaugh just spoke about the Defense Authorization bill on the radio and he said that JugEars insisted that the bill include US citizens being in jeopardy of being
disappeareddetained for “terrorism” on US soil, no habeas corpus, no evidence required, no trial no help. The feature was so egregious that JugEars even had a signing statement promising that he would never do such a thing. That does not change the fact that the language is in place and is now the law of the land. Now JugEars can say that anyone who has legally bought a legal firearm through legitimate sources (there is a paper trail) is a terrorist and have themarresteddetaineddisappeared; ALL WITHOUT A TRIAL, RIGHT TO COUNSEL AND WITH NO OTHER EVIDENCE REQUIRED.

Good afternooon Hamsters. Frost and 30 this morning just before Sunup, and a delightful if cool day is winding down. There was a light ice film on the water tank in the side pasture early this morning.
It is Day 2 of the sprinkler system installation, for which I must stay home since spouse is at the office today, so I can answer questions about the curcuit breaker boxes and turn off power to the barn and carriage house or point out the breakers for the well. The front yard installation is ready for testing the sprinkler heads, and we have water spraying every which way initially. The living room windows just got sprayed, but the water later got redirected onto the yard. There will be many false starts I presume.
Another false start just sprayed the same windows again. We’ve held off having a recommended window washing outfit come until all is installed and tested; there are plenty of waterspots to remove from our sprinklers hitting windows all summer as well as dust liberally spewed over the neighborhood almost all last year from the gravel road behind us. No sense doing it more than once if possible. This presumes that the sprinkler heads will stay aimed properly once adjusted….
The Iowa madness is fixin’ to get started tonight. Let the games begin.

Good to know that Soros and I are part of the same club, namely Petrobras stockholders. My own company sells a lot of equipment to Petrobras, as well as, other companies in Brazil. We even have a major overhaul/manufacturing facility in Brazil.
I have a big problem “loaning” money to Petrobras just after Soros invests money into it, automatically making a huge profit for him. Are you honestly going to try to tell me that was all purely coincidence, really?? Isn’t that way beyond even the most egregious examples of “crony capitalism”? To make matters far worse, JugEars makes it darn near impossible for US companies to drill in US waters for the US market, which helps the US consumers and the economy as a whole. Had he not wissin hamstrung the US market, I would still have a big problem with the Soros payoff because that is flat out crooked – any way you want to slice it. Congratulations that you are benefiting (in an honest fashion, I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt) from the flagrant corruption vis-a-vis Soros and JugEars. Wouldn’t you be happier if all that business that your company currently enjoys in Brazil as a result of their expansion was happening here instead?

A somewhat important day for some of us. Today in 1521, Leo X chucked Martin Luther out of the fold.
Through the power given him from God, the Roman Pontiff has been appointed to ad-minister spiritual and temporal punishments as each case severally deserves. The purpose of this is the repression of the wicked designs of misguided men, who have been so capti-vated by the debased impulse of their evil purposes as to forget the fear of the Lord, to set aside with contempt canonical decrees and apostolic commandments, and to dare to formu-late new and false dogmas and to introduce the evil of schism into the Church of God—or to support, help and adhere to such schismatics, who make it their business to cleave asun-der the seamless robe of our Redeemer and the unity of the orthodox faith. ….
On all these we decree the sentences of excommunication, of anathema, of our perpetual condemnation and interdict; of privation of dignities, honours and property on them and their descendants, and of declared unfitness for such possessions; of the confiscation of their goods and of the crime of treason; and these and the other sentences, censures and punishments which are inflicted by canon law on heretics and are set out in our aforesaid missive, we decree to have fallen on all these men to their damnation.Whew, pretty heady stuff, of course we know how all that liberal thinking worked out. There was a movement a couple years ago to get the excommunication lifted, but the guys dead – so what’s the point? And us descendants are doing all right, despite our dignities being privated.

HEY JOHN BONER, WHY THE WISS DID YOU LET THIS STAY IN THE BILL???
My dear osteopathic friend, either you misunderstood the great Rushbo, or he’s doing his Colbert act. The Honorable Mr Boenner and his followers insisted that these provisions be in the bill and worse, The most egregious ones were struck, and the President held his nose and signed. Your concerns are valid, I’d like the Supreme Court to weigh in.

I should have fed Gypsy a can of Mountain Dew when she ingested that mouse the other day,
The company argues it has scientific evidence that the mouse was not in the can when the case was sealed in August 2008 and that a veterinary pathologist examined the mouse, finding that it could not have been in the can that long because its body would have disintegrated due to the acid in the soda.

“After polling all the girls,” says brothel owner and star of HBO’s Cathouse, Dennis Hof, “The Moonlite Bunny Ranch” has endorsed Ron Paul for president. ….
During the month of January, he said, the ranch is offering two bunnies for the price of one. All you have to do is come in and say: “I”m pimping for Paul.” -

Iron Mary, that would be High Island, a salt dome that rises 38 feet above sea level on Bolivar Peninsula. Since it’s the first thing that the migratory birds see when they fly across the gulf, it’s where they land, makes for great bird watching. 😉

Rush said that JugEars insisted that the language was in the bill. Read the transcript from his website below:
“According to Senator Levin, it was Obama who required that his powers to be able to detain anybody for no reason, include US citizens. The original bill was focused on enemies of America, terrorists specifically. Levin said there was language in the bill to exempt US citizens but Obama asked for that language to be removed. Lindsey Graham has said the same thing, according to the Congressional Record.” Lindsey Graham said, “Why did we take out the language Senator Levin wanted me to put in about an American citizen could not be held indefinitely if caught in the homeland? The administration asked us to do that.”
So while Obama’s out there trying to blame this on Congress and having a signing statement saying, “Well, you know, I’m never gonna do this,” it was Obama who required the language be in the legislation
He was not “doing a Colbert” he was deadly serious and I did not misunderstand him. Perhaps you should re-check your sources.

I’ve been eyeballing the following website and there’s an Obama ad (well, one of a few) which shows among other things that Obama has 1) made healthcare affordable and 2) cut taxes for every working American.
Who knew? Obama should pick Ron Paul for VP.

Shamwow still thinks he’s playing to a state-wide audience instead of a relatively samll group of buds and budettes.
Hey Nancy;
You might actually be able to convince some folks here if you’d cut the BS and start discussing things honestly.
The danger there, of course, is that you might get convinced of some things before we do.

Nope. I just refreshed the webste I just linked and it’s Santorum: 26,443; Romney: 26, 398; Paul: 22,728. So, a few thousand votes below Santorum and Romney would be accurate. Hugh made that assesment at the time when he said Santorum and Romney were only 50 votes apart. It was after that, just before the break that Hewitt said the difference between the top two candidates was a mere 13 votes.

Looks like Iowa is going to be a near three way tie between the guy nobody really wants, the guy who probably won’t do as well for the remainder of the race, and Dr. Kookoobananas. Newt has come in a strong 4th—and I say strong because once you take out Dr. Kookoobananas its really third place, and if Santorum can’t keep up the pace Newt actually finished second.
Romney spent a crapload of money and still got as many votes as he did in 2008 when he didn’t spend any.
Perry and Bachman ar toast. Worst news for Perry is that the CNN Debate just before the SC Primary is only for the top four finishers in Iowa. Newt is still going very strong in SC, holding on to a lead he’s had since Dec 20. Santorum is polling at under 3% there right now, although that is likely to change. It will depend on who Perry endorses when he drops out after NH.

Romney seems up by about a hundred votes (the print was small on the video portion of the website website). Hewitt still predicts a Santorum victory since it’s rural areas which still have not come in. Hewitt’s guest (I think it’s Garity (sp?)) pointed something out and Hewitt said, something like “well if that’s the case, then it’ll go to Romney”.

The facts are as stated, check any source, as I posted from the CSM:
The new law now requires military custody for any suspect who is a member of al-Qaida or “associated forces” and involved in planning or attempting to carry out an attack on the United States or its coalition partners. The president or a designated subordinate may waive the military custody requirement by certifying to Congress that such a move is in the interest of national security.
The administration also pushed Congress to change a provision that would have denied U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism the right to trial and could have subjected them to indefinite detention. Lawmakers eventually dropped the military custody requirement for U.S. citizens or lawful U.S. residents. As pointed out, before the language was inserted your butt was disappeared and never heard from again, after the language was removed, the President can insist you be tried in criminal court with all the constitutional rights that entails.
The President (or his designee) is all that stands between you in your scenario and secret, dark places in Romania.
Read it through, the facts are as I stated.

The big test will be Florida. By that time we’ll be able to tell if Santorum is for real. Right now, Newt has fallen off some, but still holds a commanding lead. Santorum is doing worse there than he’s doing in SC.
Santorum’s big problem now is Huntsman. He’s polling at more than twice what Santorum is at in NH right now, and that primary is in one week. If Santorum finishes behind both Newt AND Huntsman, he’ll look like a flash in the pan.

The problem with Ron Paul is the proportional awarding of delegates the Pubbies have gone to for this election. He might get enough delegates to be King maker if he can’t be King.
Makes you wonder who he’d back. I don’t see him close to anybody running right now ideologically or poltically. I kinda thought a brokered convention might be fun to watch, but the concept of Dr. Kookoobananas holding some cards kinda scares me.

Sarah Palin gave her analysis of the Iowa caucuses tonight, refusing to give any single candidate anything close to an endorsement. She also noted rather passionately though, that the GOP had better not marginalize Ron Paul and his supporters after tonight because their fiscal concerns are very legitimate and the GOP had better work with them.

Ron Paul is surging in the Republican presidential race. Just not among Republicans.
The Texas congressman is leading some polls in Iowa and is in a tie for second in New Hampshire. A candidacy once dismissed as sideshow is now being taken very seriously; the front page of Monday’s Des Moines Register featured a huge spread under the headline “COULD RON PAUL WIN?”
Given Paul’s views on the Fed, the gold standard and social issues, not to mention his isolationist foreign policy, the polls have left some politicos wondering whether Republican voters have somehow swerved off the rails. But there’s another question that should be asked first: Who are Ron Paul’s supporters? Are they, in fact, Republicans?
In an analysis accompanying his most recent survey in Iowa, pollster Scott Rasmussen noted, “Romney leads, with Gingrich in second, among those who consider themselves Republicans. Paul has a wide lead among non-Republicans who are likely to participate in the caucus.”
The same is true in New Hampshire. A poll released Monday by the Boston Globe and the University of New Hampshire shows Paul leading among Democrats and independents who plan to vote in the January 10 primary. But among Republicans, Paul is a distant third — 33 points behind leader Mitt Romney.
‘Mischief Maker’ Ron Paul’s Rise in Polls Comes From Democrats & Independents

And Paul’s popularity with Democrats should not be construed with Reagan’s popularity; for Reagan gained and always retained a huge amount of support from Republicans as well as bring in many Democrats.
