Yesterday, our host showed us all some shocking evidence that the residents of Sesame Street were up to no good. Further research has now shown that another resident of Sesame Street has been on the wrong side of the law for quite some time.
Even giving support to the (former) most wanted man in the world.
Yet one more reason to eliminate funding for PBS.

Texpat #59; Very effective missionaries if they choose to serve full time for a year and a half. 😉 Temple Square in Salt Lake City is full of full time sister missionaries. Not one elder in sight. I often thought that the Church did this simply because people tend to naturally like talking to females or something like that. but… Read more »
Adee #87;
What a fabulous thing to share.

I think wagon had everything to do with that video. In that case, as far as Wagonburner’s final judgement, Lord have mercy on his soul. 😉
#42; everything changed with Constantine around 325 of the common era That’s for sure. But Sunday worship and the reason why it was changed from Saturday to Sunday is OK with me. I grew up knowing that worship is on Sunday because it became tradition to do so according to Christ’s resurrection. Likewise, it does not bother me one bit… Read more »
bones #28; are you saying that you simply can’t live a happy life without eating that which was specifically forbidden in HIS LAW? Are you going to let your appetites rule over what is written? Again, as a LDS I can kinda relate. We have what’s known as The Word of Wisdom. We believe this was modern-day revelation given to… Read more »
bones #15; I have not read all the comments yet and probably will not be able to do so tonight. So here’s a quick reply. I emphasize “quick” since his is off the top of my head and I’m no expert on this subject. IF that is the case, why did Messiah say repeatedly in Matt 5 that HE DID… Read more »

I recommend against tomatoes in restaurants and potato salad in BBQ joints. The former are generally kept too long to be fresh, and the former is usually made from yesterday’s unsold baked… Read more »
#121 It is amazing. Like someone said the other day, Watergate didn’t have a body count. We aren’t surprised when the media, DOJ and our HNP aren’t upset over the death of a US Border agent, but why is there no outrage over hundreds, if not thousands, of dead Mexicans? They were murdered as a direct consequence of a Democrat… Read more »

Clap, clap, clap and heh. Specially liked that long book title. 🙂
Where the heck are Woodward and Bernstein? Watergate was a drop in the Pacific Ocean compared to Fast and Furious, Solyndra, and another 1.2 billion federal loan guarantee for another green project involving a California Demoncat and his lobbyist son. You got Pelozi and her husband’s land deal–You got John Podesta’s lobbyist sister-in-law getting a 135 million loan guarantee for… Read more »

Bite your own tongue!
Actually it’s being done to bring back some nuance from the Latin. The English-speaking parts of the Church are the last to implement. The Romance language-speaking parts changed a while back. They were probably among the first given the similarity among those languages and with Latin.
It could have been “Beware of craws!”
Well, I had a great class tonight. The kids are TAKING NOTES and asking questions! We were talking about faith, belief, and religion. I was able to go briefly over various religions and compare them. I was able to cut loose and joke some; I like my class to be loose and fun. Last year’s class would have taken a… Read more »

Don’t eat the prawns?
I have none. I do have hope in his mercy and grace.
According to the sources I’ve checked, it is some variation of “Don’t be afraid.”
Love one another?
Found out sumpin interesting the other day, checked it out and it seems to be true. MJ might find the answer interesting.
What command does God give most often in the Bible?

We try.
Really.
Sometime I’ll hafta count how many times the priest and the faithful say “peace” or its equivalent during Mass.
Ah yes.
Douglas, Peter, and Green Bay.

Yes, Christians of all sorts are generally civil. Y’all really are “The Religion of Peace”.
Heaven forbid these religious nuts take over the blog for a day.
I think things have been fairly civil. I certainly hold no ill will towards anyone. Like Shannon, I’m about sick and tired of politics. Unless y’all wanna spark up the establishment debate again 😉
Well it looks like “Vacation Bible School” is still in session, not that there is anything wrong with that, I’ll see y’all tommorow. Crossing fingers and hoping for ANY other topic. 😉
Can’t ya just feel all that Christian Brotherhood spilling out?
Simple
4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through… Read more »
#89 Bonecrusher: You defer to the tradition of the elders of the Catholic faith; did you ever consider that they may have gotten some things wrong? You’re actually kidding here right? This isn’t some arcane schismatic argument about a microscopically minor doctrinal points, you are making assertions about life and death issues. And, in every case that I have seen… Read more »

I’ve been reading a little bit about the changes.
Reading some of the specific passages from the “new” liturgy, it sounds downright…………..Anglican!!! 🙂
I have been there and done that and it always stayed bread and wine, it did not change. It does not matter how much you may want to believe or how much faith that you may have, that bread and wine stays exactly the same as when it was made by human hands. The priest saying some words over it… Read more »
RCIA’s gonna be easy the next three weeks. Our pastor’s going over all the changes to the English translation of the Missal.
Thank you, Adee.
Keep ’em coming.
Now you bring up Gallileo?
And a completely unrelated and uninformed reference to some bizarre notion of “Church infallibility”.
No wonder Hammie is done with this discussion.
Stop while you’re behind, sir, your ignorance is showing.
Bonecrusher: Just curious, do you propose to keep all of the other laws given in Leviticus or just dietary ones? What a great discussion. I’ll be rereading and studying it for some time.
Katfish and mharper,
Yes,’there is a two thousand year debate among certain parties concerning the numerous Scriptural references to certain types of food.
Mharp, this isn’t a debate about modern vs. ancient food sanitation, by the way.
#90 Pyro: You stopped reading too soon and got the wrong idea. Acts 11:15-18 15 “And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. 16 “And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with… Read more »
Not sure how you can take “nothing” out of context.
You defer to the tradition of the elders of the Catholic faith; did you ever consider that they may have gotten some things wrong? #82/#15 bone The New Covenant is realized by Christ’s blood, shed for all so that sins might be forgiven. A middle-aged man stood at the corner of McKinney and Smith, across from City Hall, with a sign that read, “Homosexuality is a sin.” Next to him a young woman held a sign with an arrow reading, “This guy sucks.” If I was unemployed I would stand next to her with a sign that said “This girl doesn’t.” If I… Read more »
On our trip we visited magnificent churches representing diverse architectures and decorations. Speaking of hand washing, this reminded me to look up Muslim foot washing, which I never understood. The link isn’t new but it explains the situation well, I think.
