Tuesday Thank God & Greyhound She’s Gone….Open Comments

Hi my name is Susan Rice. I illegally obtained FISA warrants on hundreds of Trump officials and had them wire tapped. I clandestinely held a little known position within the intelligence organization. Today I was fired.

I will admit, when I first read that Susan Rice was still ensconced on the Defense Policy Board well into the new Trump administration, I thought it must surely be fake news, some hallucination conjured by an overactive internet rumor mill. Yet, with the bitter taste of disbelief still fresh, the facts became clear. Not only had she lingered, she had lingered officially, and with all the institutional imprimatur the position carries. It is the sort of stunning oversight that shakes one’s faith in the assumption that elections carry consequences.

and,

At the State Department, Thomas Donilon, a consummate Democratic insider who served as Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor, continued to co-chair the Foreign Affairs Policy Board. Donilon, whose worldview is saturated in the globalist dogmas that Trumpism explicitly rejects, was not some neutral technocrat offering dispassionate advice. He was, and remains, a committed architect of the very foreign policy status quo that voters repudiated.

Serving alongside Donilon was Cecilia Muñoz, another alumnus of the Obama White House, celebrated in progressive circles for her aggressive domestic policy advocacy. That she too advised the State Department in 2025 suggests not malevolent intent by Trump officials, but the lingering inertia of an entrenched bureaucracy and the sheer pace at which the new administration had to operate.

plus,

Now-ousted Susan Rice is upset over her abrupt departure from the Defense Department. She claims that if you aren’t White and Christian, Trump won’t include you in his cabinet. Here are some non-White members of Trump’s cabinet with their religious affiliations: – Tulsi Gabbard – Director of National Intelligence, Hindu – Harmeet Dhillon – Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Sikh – Marco Rubio – Secretary of State, Christian (Catholic) – Elon Musk – Department of Government Efficiency, Atheist/Agnostic

and

She put this out after Hegseth threw her out, resorting to ad hominem attacks claiming Hegseth wasn’t as smart as she was, a highly questionable claim, given her record in leftist administrations, which included one policy failure after another.

She also got into a ridiculous string of claims suggesting that getting rid of her was racist, and somehow Hegseth got let off easy where she was let off hard. See, she’s always the victim.

Pete Hegseth may have the hardest job of all the cabinet members.  This is why he has been on the hunt for leakers and backstabbers.  The Pentagon is full of them.

I’m shocked that Ms Rice is even mildly surprised that her services are not a part of the new administration’s plan… I’d have been a lot more surprised had she remained!!!!

The rest of this article by Christopher Rufo is behind the paywall, however Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is on the job.

Sounds like the Chinese cultural revolution. Wasn’t pretty.

In 2020, Princeton president Christopher Eisgruber made headlines for declaring the university guilty of “systemic racism.” He meant systemic racism against racial minorities, but in truth, Eisgruber’s institution has practiced the opposite: systematically discriminated against supposed “oppressors,” like whites and males.

Though most Princeton faculty support Eisgruber’s “anti-racism” policy, a faction of dissenters—a few dozen in number—has grown bolder in recent months. In these professors’ telling, Princeton’s president is a vengeful administrator who punishes anyone who questions DEI orthodoxy. They have worked behind the scenes to assemble evidence of his discriminatory policies and hope the Trump administration will restore the principle of colorblind equality on campus.

I sat down with one of these professors for a wide-ranging discussion about anti-Semitism, radical ideologies, and DEI at Princeton. This conversation has been edited for length and clarity.

Given the recent, post Covid dramatic increase in colon cancer in Americans 25-45 years old, this is a large problem.

Here’s the bottom line — nearly 53,000 Americans are projected to die from colorectal cancer this year.

The overall five-year survival rate for the disease is around 65%. Several factors significantly influence prognosis, including the stage of the cancer at diagnosis, its location within the colon and the effectiveness of treatment.

A new study suggests that a popular habit may negatively affect colon cancer outcomes, significantly increasing the risk of death within five years of diagnosis.

“This study adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting that heavy cannabis use may have under recognized impacts on the immune system, mental health and treatment behaviors,” said lead study author Raphael Cuomo, an associate professor at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.

All I know about this shot is that it was taken somewhere in Texas in 1950. It’s probably summertime. In the absence of any concrete knowledge, it’s fun to speculate re: who they are and what the relationship between them is. I’ve decided that the girl is named Loretta and that she can’t decide between the two young men she’s sitting between, Jimmy George and Kenny, who are obviously brothers. And, for some reason, when I look at it I hear “Bye, bye miss American pie, drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry …..” even though that song wouldn’t come out for another 22 years. I wonder: what do y’all think?

    I’m guessing San Antonio. 😉

The illegal migrant who was busted for snatching Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci purse was picked up by cops in New York for a similar crime just a few weeks earlier — but they let him go with a desk appearance ticket and a court date.

The NYPD’s warrant squad was hunting for Chilean national Mario Bustamante-Leiva, 49 — because he never showed up to court — when he allegedly ripped off Noem during Easter dinner with her family at a Washington, DC, burger bar, law enforcement sources told The Post.

And all these idiots must know they are themselves a really big bunch of cells that grow to create humans from the moment of conception, where two cells become one and grow the cells that make a person. And it is the father who determines the sex of the child.

And if you really want to nicely insult them, insist that this is the way they were formed and born. And they also are a big bunch of cells that made them human. As we all are.

It happened again! I checked the “all postings” list during the day yesterday, didn’t see a Tuesday thread set up. I checked again last night after I got back from my meeting, and still didn’t see anything for today, so I hurriedly grabbed something and set it up.

I log in this morning and find that Texpat had already put up one of his awesome posts.

I apologize for the confusion, but I really don’t know why WordPress has an issue with me seeing Texpat’s work. I really don’t.

I changed mine to Thursday, but that’s a May 1 posting and there may be more consequential stuff to report on, so please, if any admin has something he wants to swap out for mine, feel free to do so. Also, the last time I changed a publishing date for an already published post, it just disappeared into the ether. So, if any admin fails to see my Thursday post, hop in and do your thing.

I’m trying not to get a complex about this, but….

I watched The Conclave movie last night and it ended at about 10:45. I created today’s post between 11:00 PM and 11:40 PM. I know there was no other post at that time in the dashboard for today.

      1. Tedtam Avatar
        Tedtam

I put mine up between 10:00 and 10:30. Weird.

BTW – every Catholic commenter that I’ve heard has said that The Conclave is a piece of wiss and no self-respecting Catholic should watch it. It’s rare that Hollywood gets anything right about the Catholic faith. I was all excited about the Padre Pio movie, and it started out okay but quickly devolved into classic H-wood over sensationalism. I walked out and texted all of my friends to not waste their time with it.

Nefarious, however, was excellent. An exorcist actually said that it was the closest thing to what he experiences in an exorcism is like – the mental manipulation, etc. As a matter of fact, the exorcist who was the consultant for the movie gave an interview, and he explained some of the weird things that happened during the filming and during the premiere that seemed to be diabolical efforts to stop the filming and showing of Nefarious. He actually had to exorcise the hotel room where a crew was filming short takes after the premiere to use in marketing. Fr. Martins did his little video, then left to walk around a bit. When he checked his phone, there were frantic messages from the crew calling him back. Every video they took was showing snow, even though the equipment seemed to be working. When Fr. Martins returned to re-film his piece, his back was to a curtain on the outside wall. He heard voices coming from behind the curtain, so he exorcised the room and filming was then successfully completed. I doubt that anything like that happened on the Padre Pio movie; it was a piece of trash and would certainly have led souls away from the faith, not to it. PP would have made such a great movie, even if they had stuck to his real life story.

I believe Nefarious was an Indie movie, so that may explain why it wasn’t tainted. I highly recommend it, but be warned – it’s intense.

Good morning, C&C, it’s Tuesday! We’re one day into what the White House is calling the ‘100-day Week.’ After yesterday’s comment that the deep state is being killed by a thousand cuts, I decided to give you a rapid roundup of a whole slew of events from just one day. But first, we’ll investigate yesterday’s bizarre and mysterious power outage in Europe.

Mr. C. first generates his delightfully sarcastic prose about the “mysterious” power blackout in Europe yesterday. “The Experts” *still* don’t know the cause.

Are these the same “experts” that gave us the jab? Whoever they are, they are “investigating”:

Don’t hold your breath. I’ll bet you 1,000 pesos it remains a forever mystery, stored in the same file with 2020-2021’s mysterious missing flu seasons.

Yeah, that was curious, how the flue virus took a two year vacation…but I digress:

“Government officials” first tried to blame it on some weird “atmospheric phenomena”. That was quickly debunked. They should have been reading Hamous.net, and that would have put them ahead of the curve:

The Times next said there was no evidence of any cyberattack. Spain’s state grid operator, Red Electrica, said a “very strong oscillation in the electrical network” caused the disconnect, but that just pushed the question back one step to what caused the oscillation? They aren’t even speculating.

Online, many folks observed that two weeks ago, Spain (where the blackouts began) celebrated switching to “100% green power.” …

The timing suggests that could be some sort of clue. But Politico EU reported that EU officials have ruled it out. They said there’s no possible way that renewable production could be to blame, since they have rules to prevent that sort of thing from happening. So just forget about it. Take your science denialism and conspiracy theories and go sell them someplace else (*that has power).

Typical liberal thinking: make a rule, and it becomes a part of natural law; unbreakable and irresistible. Like “no gun” zones. One weather guy has a theory about the instability of earth’s magnetic field “blinking” and causing the problem. Yeah, that sounds more reasonable, at least more politically palatable.

Is it reassuring to you that, unlike SpaceWeatherman, the EU government’s highly-paid experts don’t even have a theory about the largest, multi-country, peacetime blackouts in Europe? Is this a power crisis or a crisis in expertise? The answer is: probably both. And no, all the official confusion is not reassuring. Not at all.

Reason #503 why I’m not eager to visit Europe anymore.

Then Mr. C. goes into “lightning round” mode to cover ever-so-much happening in this Time of Trump:

Harvard is talking big in public but kissing bottoms in private. Media got hold of a very informative internal Harvard email yesterday. Even more telling, it was sent just a few hours after Trump’s lawyers met with Harvard’s lawyers in the University’s new lawsuit over nearly $3 billion in suspended federal grants. The email described how Harvard is officially renaming its “Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” to “the Office of Community and Campus Life.” Harvard is quietly caving.

Hahvahd is now moving forward (publicly, anyway) to promote merit based systems instead of racially dividing its campus; and will try to “bring people together” instead of allowing the divisive rhetoric currently allowed on campus. Perhaps Jews won’t fee so endangered now. We can hope.

Regarding the self-deportation of those gubmint lawyers:

… the division would soon be reduced from 380 down to about 140 attorneys, or even fewer, depending how things shake out…

In the interview, Dhillon said that she plans to rapidly hire new lawyers to get after things like illegal DEI, cities violating Second Amendment rights, and to protect women’s sports. So.

And speaking of caving, there’s the decades old Mexican standoff over its refusal to follow water sharing treaties on the Rio Grande. Tariffs strike again!

Remember what I told you— Trump’s using tariffs to get everything he wants from every country on Earth, not just equalizing tariffs. No previous president has ever even tried anything like this.

Here’s a new one: fees for immigrants!

House Republicans are working on a “big beautiful bill” to support Trump’s agenda. In one example emerging from the noise, yesterday the House Judiciary Committee approved a provision, for example, that would charge fees to immigrants seeking political asylum: $1,000 per person or $3,500 for a family with kids, plus a $100 annual maintenance fee for as long as the case continues.

Asylum-seekers would also have to pay other fees, like $350 to apply for a temporary work permit.

I like the maintenance fee – it might help encourage more rapid clearing of the cases, but I think $100 is too low. Just my two cents. 20M illegals time $1,000 is….well, it will help pay for the bureaucracy, manpower, and facilities needed to process them. It’s a wild reversal from giving them free cell phones, debit cards, and plane tickets.” Indeed. Indeed it is.

    1. Texpat Avatar
      Texpat

I have been advocating for decades the complete overhaul of our immigration policies and laws. Ted Kennedy’s first big congressional project in the 1960s was to gut the old immigration policies and then to continue to distort them through bureaucratic manipulation.

The United States has phenomenal numbers of brilliant legal immigrants. Just look at the rosters of medical, IT and scientific fields. Some of these people had to wait years to come here before they could begin applying for citizenship and then they have to spend $8-10-12 thousand in legal and other fees over another 6 or 8 years. It’s stupid. We need a completely new system.

I thought it was a little silly of Trump, but harmless fun, to tease the lame duck Trudeau as he was leaving as a very unpopular figure in Canada. What I don’t think was wise was to continue to taunt the Canadian people at large during the campaign for a new leader to drive voters to the Left. I don’t have a clue what the hell DJT was thinking.

Paradoxically, however, because Poilievre is a Conservative whose program lines up more closely with Trump’s on most issues than does that of the Liberals, Carney was able to take better advantage of the anti-Trump outrage and erase the Conservative lead in the polls. And so Canadians have struck back against Trump by giving the Liberals a majority and ensuring that Carney will remain prime minister. Yet Poilievre is the actual Canadian nationalist, while Carney is yet another World Economic Forum-linked socialist internationalist who will continue the hollowing-out of Canada that Justin Trudeau pursued with almost as much vigor as he brought to Taylor Swift concerts. Trump even repudiated Poilievre and said he would prefer to work with Carney, whereupon Canadians, to spite Trump, voted for the Liberals and ensured that Trump would get to work with Carney. Got it?

    More C&C coverage:

DOGE is looking at the Peace Corps. Go for it.

IBM is increasing its investment in US manufacturing by $150B. More tariff winning!

I found amusing the trolling of the administration over the media, by putting out signs of 100 criminal illegals showing their mug shots and listing their crimes – right where journalists like to stand to make their video reports. It’s hard to justify fighting Trump’s deportations when right behind you are the reasons justifying it. So good.

President Trump signed three new executive orders on immigration yesterday. Somewhere in there, he shot past President Autopen’s four-year total of executive orders, which had itself set a new presidential record. One of the new orders directed DOJ to crack down on so-called “sanctuary cities.” The second provided money for wrongly accused police officers, partially re-funding defunded police departments.

    Next: more anti-climate fearmongering progress

Yesterday, the Administration pulled the plug on a 1990 G.W. Bush initiative called the National Climate Assessment, a five-year repeating project that OMB Director Russ Vought has correctly called “a source of climate alarmism.” More plainly, it is a grift factory. Until shortly before noon yesterday, over four hundred expert “climate contributors” were diligently working on the Sixth Assessment. But the gravy train has reached its final destination.

Sayonara, go find a real job.

The Department of Education announced a new discrimination investigation yesterday, this time into the University of Pennsylvania for allowing a transgender woman (i.e., a man) to participate in female sports. Specifically, the infamous ‘Lia’ Thomas.

DoE is requiring Mr. Thomas to be stripped of all titles, etc. Penn is silent. As well they should be. There was just no justification for this, or for what those women were forced to endure in their dressing room.

So much news, so little time…

The drone video I link is very slick and professionally done. You don’t have to be a professional videographer to take good tips from the work there. Delivery is fast paced, info-packed without dead-time.

I tend to get bored with a lot, or most, of the homemade videos and podcasts. One need only watch some of these painful podcast interviews to appreciate a good pro interviewer. I may not always agree with Hugh Hewitt, but the man does his homework is a first-class interviewing host. Even though he has risen to the top of s**t list, Tucker Carlson is very good. They are few and far between.

Most of these people truly need some basic training in production and editing. The folks who do all the “How to ___” and “How to fix ___” are helpful but some of them make me want to pull my hair out.

She merely had Harris County join as co-plaintiff with a lawsuit originated and filed in the Northern District of California where they will dance around it with flaming torches and singing voodoo chants. The County now has to pay an equal share of all the legal fees without ever asking the citizens of Harris County.

We, the citizens of Harris County, should sue for the abuse of County funds.

My 10 month old 50 lb fur missile, Rosie has a case of the ZOOMIES and is racing around the backyard. The 2 year old 25 lb fur missile, Sarah, is keeping up pretty well. I predict that Sarah will soon lose her Alpha status.

I cooked up a pot of bacon ends and pieces tonight. I got the idea from Dr. Berg, one of the keto docs I follow. He takes a whole pack of bacon and puts it into a big, deep pot. The heat goes on and the whole batch cooks at one time. After it’s done, I have a mess of precooked bacon on which to snack or use for a meal, and I also have a new batch of bacon grease for cooking. I use ends and pieces because it’s cheaper, and I usually use it for mix-ins for my scrambled eggs, or to put on Hubby’s dinner salads.

Using a big pot with high sides means much less grease splatter, which is also nice.
