I decided to treat myself to a movie.. haven’t done that in quite a while. I missed showings of the Christian movies, so I picked s thriller called “Amateur”. The trailer looked good. Right now, I’m the only one in the theater. It starts in 20 minutes. This cinema has the fancy electronic recliner chairs, which are nice. And since I’m an old fart now, I got a break on the ticket price, which was also nice. I just finished talking with two young men, thanking them for the thankless job of cleaning the theater. They said it’s not too… Read more »
I had to wait until hubby’s dinner was ready, so I’m just now getting to church for confession. The line is verrrry long. I don’t know if I got here early enough.
I’m going to make a second attempt today to post a prayer request for my daughter. She took a tumble a few days ago and has a pretty good fracture below the ball at the top of her humerus at the shoulder.
I’m checking in before (hopefully) getting to confession. I had to leave earlier to help Hubby replace a refrigerator for one of our tenants; his died yesterday. The mother who talked to the press today about how her daughter was brutally, brutally raped and murdered was heartbreaking. For once, the idiot media had the common sense to keep their mouths shut after the story was told. I stepped outside just as the Amazon delivery guy was turning to leave. I saw the box on the porch and called him back. Me: “Do you not see the delivery box here? (waving… Read more »
My theory is that whatever happened with the avatars, it did not affect Admins or Editors.
For the record, I have never signed in thru Word Press and only rarely get knocked off. And have no problem seeing avatars.
Well dang! I accidentally mowed down a small pine tree! I pulled the rubber chute up to get close but the blade actually sticks out an inch or two so I just whacked her down. FWIW; I’d planned on taking the little pine out anyway since it’s too close to the trail. 😉

Re: the gravatar thing
I have a theory.
You can log into this site two ways: directly and through WordPress. It could be that those who logged in via WordPress see the gravatars and the direct logins get the random ones.
I log into through WordPress and hardly ever have to re-login.
Hell Britannia ! I know I said I was going to quit posting stories about the decline demise of the UK, but I am so astounded this once proud nation is committing it’s own assisted suicide. The industrial town of Scunthorpe is home to Britain’s last operating steel mill. While the corporate sign in front might say “British Steel,” the company’s owner since 2020 is a Chinese industrial giant, Jingye, operating out of Beijing. Jingye claims to lose about £700,000 (about $925,000) each day keeping Scunthorpe’s furnaces running. The company says that’s due to high energy costs, environmental expenses, and… Read more »
Surprise, surprise one and all that it is windy again today, just like it has been for at least the last 6 or 7 weeks here. Spring weather would not be the same if that didn’t happen every year, flinging pollen everywhere from just about every plant/tree that has blossoms. And lots of the pollen arrives from farther north in Texas and some even comes from the Midwest on blasts of winter storms up there that eventually get this far south and bring it with them. Antihistamines to the rescue when it really gets miserable. Out here in the country… Read more »
I had fourteen moms, many infants, and two very rambunctious little girls in my rosary class today. Three of the mothers had never prayed the rosary before, so today was very helpful to them. As I and my translator explained the rosary and gave some its history, the two girls were running in and out, giggling and talking loudly. Moms tried to calm them down, but they just wouldn’t be still. In an attempt to calm them down, I called them over (while the translator was leading the prayers) and reached into my bag to give each of them a… Read more »
If Russia and China, two nations who deeply distrust each other, were ever to cooperate by launching a Russian attack on Europe while simultaneously China takes over the sea lanes from the Indian Ocean to the Bering Straits of Alaska with thousands of warships, the USA won’t have a chance. “This past autumn, Russia announced a 25 percent increase in defense spending, representing over 6 percent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). By some estimates, this means Russia is spending more on its military than all of Europe combined.” The Army general outlined Russia’s methodical nationwide expansion of military industrial production through the… Read more »
The hotshot phenom, freshman quarterback for the University of Tennessee Volunteers has been shown the door there even though he may be the most sought after prospect in college football. He’s a free agent now, so to speak. If people thought the NCAA and college football was a racket before, they have seen nothing yet and it’s already ugly. High school kids with agents negotiating multi-million dollar contracts before they are old enough to go to college or legally sign a contract is the road to perdition. The day before the winter portal ended in January, Iamaleava’s representatives asked for… Read more »
I’ve always been way behind the curve on understanding how the finances of the internet actually work regarding the social media world. Last night, suffering from Prednisone-induced insomnia, I came across this article in the Daily Mail and it kind of blew my mind. This is truly great stuff. The University of Austin is going to attract a lot of potential talent to their student body. I wish this school had been open when my daughter was ready for college. No Social Justice Warrior admission essays accepted ! The University of Austin in Texas is implementing a “merit-first admissions” policy that automatically admits students who pass a certain standardized test score threshold. The university announced on Monday that students who score “1460+ on the SAT, 33+ on the ACT, or 105+ on the CLT” will be “automatically admitted,” and those with even higher scores–totaling more than 1550,… Read more »
It’s about time. The Trump administration has created a task force to ensure that men do not play in women’s sports, and to help enforce the president’s executive order against such competitions. The task force, entitled the Title IX Special Investigations Team (SIT), will be a joint effort between the Department of Education and the Department of Justice (DOJ), according to an April 4 press release. The Education Department announced that the task force had been created in response to a “staggering volume of Title IX complaints,” and that the purpose of the force is to “ensure timely, consistent resolutions” in order to… Read more »
Well my package just left Nashville after leaving Helena MT on the 10th and passing through, Billings, MT, Glendive, MT, Bismarck, ND, Fargo, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, Omaha, NE, Earth City, MO before landing in Nashville. So I guess it’s now heading to Atlanta or Birmingham? For some reason UPS routes through both those cities before coming here, irrespective of where the package originates. So do they flip a coin? 😉
About the Avatars; doesn’t Hal just randomly assign the cartoon Avatars to those that don’t use their own? And that makes me wonder if their has been a change in management up the food chain. Not Hamous but WordPress Akismet.
I saw Gad Saad on Watter’s last night talking about Bezo’s “Phallic Shaped Rocket” and found this quote from his book. Sorry I don’t know how to link the source.
Have you ever wondered why RPG launchers are phallic shaped? Well, I learned in my Feminist Military class that this is a form of weaponized inanimate object patriarchy. If the military were not so sexist, they would create feminine-shaped bazookas. 😀
I have to head out early today – banking ‘n stuff in Pearland, then a mad dash to the pro-life center for my monthly rosary class. We’ll see if I have any attendees – I started out with about twenty, last month there were only three. I’m sure the current deportation orders are having their effect. I think most of these Spanish-speaking women are illegals. But they still deserve to learn how to love God and pray to him. Their legal status is above my pay grade, but serving God isn’t. And I have no idea which ones are legal… Read more »

I certainly did.

More on the corrupt Jasmine Crockett.
Jasmine Crockett is being credibly accused of fraud for accepting $870K in illegal donations from Act Blue. Over 50 people have stated that donations were made in their names without their knowledge.
When will we see corrupt Ds (BIRM) finally go to prison?
