I thought the Dems were always “for the children”. This is a big stick with which to beat up the other side:

Labor Day September 2, 2024 where has this year gone?
Mornin’ Gang -
6:56 AM The Blog is Graveyard Dead my work here is done. 😉
-
prayin’ every buddy has a blessed holiday… there’s a lot of tree drip going on up here in the woods but mostly blue skies above
-
On this day in 1990 I went into labor with Handsome Son. He was born 25 1/2 hours later, on Labor Day. I always thought that was appropriate.
-
I remember my OB coming in to see me after the birth. Like it was with my daughter, he had scheduled a vacation around (planning to be there for my delivery, that is) my due date. For Lovely, he was offshore fishing and had to be called from the boat; he arrived 15 hours into my labor. He did something that I shall not describe here and Lovely arrived 3.5 hours later.
With Handsome, he was hunting, but never arrived until after Handsome made his appearance. Turns out, his hunting buddy had a heart attack in the woods and he couldn’t leave him.
So here I am, in bed when he comes to check on me. He opens my rather thick chart and begins flipping through what must have been five inches of fetal monitor squiggle charts.
“What does all that tell you?” I asked.
He replied “It tells me you were here a long time.” -

I’m hoping the crickets here mean that everyone is out enjoying themselves. Except for Texpat, who needs our prayers for healing.

Mr. Childers didn’t take the day off:
Happy organized labor day! In which we celebrate working by taking the day off. Between the holiday and some personal drama, I only have time for a quick roundup. But it’s a good one: Reagan movie review; Childers family medical news; Colorado police crack down on out of control gangs, by which I mean ironic sign makers; Germany cracks down on online fatphobia aimed at robust far-left politicians; more Democrat inversion news as Twitter notices lefty anti-health platform; Trump rally news from India; and progress in the climate wars as a C&C staple finally gets a mention in more baffling climate developments.
And he has an Army post: Go see the movie “Reagan”.
As with the President himself, Reagan’s critics had a point, but they also missed the point. The critics, perhaps correctly, complained that Dennis Quaid played the President who Ended the Cold War too positively. To its credit, the movie carefully captures Reagan’s shortfalls, like his first marriage’s failure and the Iran/Contra scandal that dogged his second term.
But it never questioned his heart. And that’s why the movie succeeds. Nobody wants to watch a dreadful character dissection of our generation’s greatest President. Let our heroes be heroes.
Go see it. Watch Reagan and enjoy colorful characters, great historical sets, reminisce (or learn) about Cold War intrigue, fill in some Reagan biographical gaps, and most of all, relax and enjoy a positive movie that will remind you to feel good about America.

Mr. C’s first official story is about some “street art” in the form of various signs which say things “Blacks sit in the back of the bus, Kamala’s illegals sit in the front” and other sordid truths.
The left is calling the signs “racist”. I fail to see the racism, but in order to protect their awkward political situation, the race card can be spread to cover all sorts of uncomfortable truths.
To be clear, the signs are admittedly edgy. But they are clearly not racist. It’s just the opposite. The ironic message’s unsubtle point was that Kamala has promoted illegal aliens over American interests, particularly the interests of black Americans. But they are deliberately misunderstanding that clear message to clamp down the debate over uncontrolled, government-sponsored illegal immigration.
In other words, Colorado’s unhinged response is more censorship. And, to add satirical icing to Colorado’s cake of irony, the state has also been in the news this weekend for allowing gangs of illegal Venezuelan criminals to take over large sections of Colorado’s cities, a story in which the state, the media, and the community have been much less interested. Fox headline from Saturday: [insert “Venezuela gang takes over apartment comples” headline]
To be fair, the cops arrested ONE gang leader, who was released on $20K bond. Progress! /spits
But, on the other police glove, the KDVR-Fox article reported that police are diligently investigating whether this illegal sign posting crime could be ‘enhanced’ with a hate-crime designation, to yield more than just up to a year in jail for the fiendish perpetrators.
/more spit
I hate the “hate crime” designation. It’s an arbitrary distinction, which can be adjusted to fit any political climate. Do the lefties ever consider that at some point, their agenda driven behavior could be the new “hate speech”?
Nope, obviously not.

I have a Gab account, but don’t access it often. Maybe I should:
In Germany, someone posted that a morbidly obese politician was “fat,” and now the thought police are seeking that obviously hate-filled individual to charge them with thought-crime in noticing the obvious. Fat shaming is now literally a federal crime in Germany.
The porky comment was posted on Gab. So far, a muscular Gab has refused to cooperate with German police, defying requests to hand over the poster’s identity and banking information. I suppose the next step will be for the porcine Germans to indict Andrew Torba, Gab’s CEO, for “facilitating online hate speech,” vis-à-vis body shaming.
Gab, while not as large as Twitter/X, is one of the more free speech platforms out there. I wouldn’t put it past TPTB to use this to make another attempt to censor speech.

And the Dems now find themselves not only protecting the sex slavery of children, aka “open borders,” they now also find themselves protecting Big Food because RFK has ripped open that can of worms, and they can’t have THAT becoming an issue!
Here at C&C, we’ve been discussing the continuing and exquisitely peculiar inversion of Democrat politics. Apparently, we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed the switcheroo. Behold yesterday’s tweet from media influencer Health Ranger (218K followers):
We are now watching one of the most hilarious political pivots in history, where Democrats, reacting to the exploding #MAHA movement (Make America Healthy Again) with RFK + Trump, are now openly siding with processed foods, junk foods, pesticides, GMOs, toxic food ingredients and of course Big Pharma’s deadly vaccines. To be a Democrat in 2024, you have to now embrace and even endorse mass-production toxic food factories, the mass vaccination of pregnant women, the mass murder of unborn babies, the mass poisoning of our youth with toxic food ingredients, all while claiming to want to “save the planet” with “green” policies. It’s beyond hilarious. The Democrats stand for nothing but DEATH. They are the DEATH PARTY, pretending to be the party of “joy.” Exactly like the Third Reich. Years ago, I marched in the streets of Austin as part of the “March Against Monsanto.” It will filled with bleeding heart liberals who believed in clean food and organics. Today, those very same people believe in toxic processed foods, toxic vaccine jabs and toxic agriculture. The real CLEAN FOODS movement is now RFK+Trump.
And so we begin to see the Trump-fueled genius in Robert Kennedy’s turn from vaccines to his new focus on food health. Make America Healthy Again! Kennedy’s old anti-vaccine policies are political kryptonite, since for whatever reason leftists have fully embraced vaccines for life. But food health carves off a mammoth segment of traditional liberalism, a political neighborhood that used to be owned by the left even more wholly than Tren de Agua’s new Aurora apartments.
But now, orthodoxy requires Democrats to defend junk food, genetically modified grains, and Roundup. It must be very confusing to be a Democrat these days
TDS certainly causes some very strange convoluted thought patterns on the left.

Wow. I think I hear an echo….echo…echo…

Yep. I’m here.
Had to work this morning and do some errands. -
This is the largest federal land grab in history
30×30 is an international plan to permanently protect 30 percent of the world’s lands and oceans by 2030. These lands are to be kept in their natural state, with the ultimate goal to prohibit all human use. To attain this target they need to take control of another 400 million acres in America. This is the equivalent of protecting an additional area the size of nine states of Nebraska or two states of Texas by 2030.
President Biden launched this agenda on his sixth day in office. It was initiated by Executive Order 14008 circumventing Congress and a vote of the people. There is no Congressional or Constitutional authority for 30×30.
The Biden Administration has redirected existing funds and programs to meet this target. Every federal agency is using their authority to impose more control over Americans’ land. -

Happy Labor Day, Hamsters
Weather folks are predicting rain today for most of Texas, and almost all the way up the Panhandle. That might ruin some outside activities.
Our neighborhood is so quiet it would be easy to guess that most everybody is going elsewhere for gatherings. We currently have mostly overcast with a light breeze here, temp 87 with 76% humidity. We can use some rain that can do more than only leave a trace of water.

Hubby now has a computer and software that he can hook up to his cars to diagnose and hopefully fix problems.
Guess who’s computer illiterate? And guess who’s having to teach him stuff? Like what a left-click and a right-click is, what a folder/file is, how to find…you get the idea.
In the past, it’s been the road to divorce, but I guess we’re older and (possibly) more patient. He still wants to jump to where he thinks he wants to be, but I’m insisting he learn the basics so if I’m not around, he might have a chance. Maybe.
But he’s motivated. In the past, College Buddy would do this for him. He’s on his own now, and he knows it.
Y’all pray for us.

I thought his truck might be ready this weekend, but he just told me it might be next weekend. That could be a problem, since I have dental surgery on Friday the 13th. I know I won’t be up to a long drive for at least a few days.
So, here’s hoping the truck is ready to be picked up by next Wednesday week at the latest.

Well I got my wheat and corn planted, didn’t get the rye because the Feed store didn’t have any seeds on Thursday, but they should have some this week. Oh and did ya’ll know it’s Labor Day? Everything is closed. 😉
-
I got my Byrna stuff that I ordered: a new supply of the noxious gas powder pellets, a bag of kinetic ammo, the quick-change cap for the CO2 cartridges, and a box of cartridges.
I think I have enough that I can take Hubby out and let him try it out.

I just watched a clip from a podcast about weird stuff, and they repeated something that I’ve heard before – the Prophecy of the Popes.
It seems that after Francis, it’s Judgment Day. There are a couple of ways that prophecy seems to be pending. The target year seems to be 2027.
Yeah, I try to stay in a state of grace. It never hurts to be right with God, because tomorrow may be my personal judgment day.

Here’s a recent Bongino show – he covers multiple whistle blower stories regarding the blow baggie and J6 feds. And other stuff.
His take on the Cackler’s “interview” is spot on. “Who fails an open book test, with the notes in front of you?”

From comments at Bongino:
Biden Being “President is like hitting an Iceberg. Harris as President would be like backing up and then hitting the Iceberg a second time.

No rain to speak of here yet and plenty of sunshine in all directions. Old Glory is swaying a bit on the front porch.
The only activity outside is the comings and goings of the squirrels up and down the trees, along the fence posts, across the yards, getting a drink in the fountain.
Spouse took the fountain apart and put in a new motor after I cleaned all the etcetera out of it so you can again see the bottom of the bowl now through the water. I think the fountain is somewhere nearly 20-25 years old. Glad we could fix it up again. Kittycat Purrscilla likes to watch it through the Garden room windows. Especially if there are animals drinking there or in the case of birds, taking a bath.
