Tuesday’s Humanity Is Running on Lies Open Deportment

A Cheat Sheet for the Da Vinci Code-ification of Mideast Reporting

Seth Mandel at Commentary on the last IDF assault in Gaza:

“At least 93 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli strike on a school and mosque in Gaza sheltering displaced people, according to local officials, sparking international outrage,” CNN reported on Saturday, immediately following the strike and well before any of this information could be known by those on the ground let alone confirmed by editors and fact-checkers.

The reported “facts” in that sentence are false. And we know that, believe it or not, by simply reading it.

Was it a school or was it a shelter? No, they’re not mutually exclusive, but in this case we know that it wasn’t a school at all. It was a building that has, in the past, been used as a school. All of Gaza’s schools have been on break since October 7, and there has been no announcement as to when that might change even as we approach the start of the traditional school year.

and this,

Then Israel released another dossier with an additional 12 Hamas officials identified among the deceased. That brings our total number of terrorists killed in the strike to 31. (There is another report claiming that number can be raised all the way to 38, but it’s unclear at the time of writing if the level of detail available can definitively back up that number.)

There are, at most, nine possible civilians among the dead.

So let’s review. We went from 93 killed (“all” of them civilians, according to a source quoted by CNN) in a school and shelter to 31 Hamas officials killed in a targeted strike on a confirmed command center, with anywhere from two to nine possible civilians killed.

    The nightmare never ends:

Late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s daughter, Erica Lee Carter, announced Monday she is running in the special election for the U.S. House seat formerly held by her mother to finish the remainder of the late congresswoman’s term.

This comes after Jackson Lee, D-Texas, died last month at the age of 74 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. She had represented Texas’ 18th congressional district for 30 years.

Lee Carter said in a statement: “I want to finish for my mom!”

It’s 82 with 68% humidity. It is certainly bearable even if I am working on the door installation in direct eastern sunlight. I got lucky with this weather break.

Are you just replacing the doors or did you get pre-hung doors. I’m not ashamed to admit that I like the pre-hung doors if they’re of good quality. So easy to install. But don’t tell that to Big Mike since he had to shave a half an inch off a 4″ X 12″ installed in 1911 to make the den door wide enough for a 36″ door. After wearing out a couple of Sawsall blades I let him use my chain saw and that completely destroyed the chain. The sawdust sure did smell good though. 😉

      1. Texpat Avatar

First of all, the existing door jamb had rotted places and the sill plate was shot. Prehung doors are the only sane way to go and I say that as a pretty good door mechanic. I’ve hung doors by building the jamb from scratch but why go through the headache ?

I’m at a physical point where I am willing to pay for installations – except for doors. I don’t trust a lot these guys calling themselves carpenters and I’m very picky how my doors function.

This is the way to open an essay.

“The future is female” is more than a feminist slogan. It is a foreshadowing of an emerging Western culture that will be rooted in female forms of power and, therefore, governed by feminine manifestations of oppression. Rather than relying on physical force, power is wielded through the manipulation of perception and the exploitation of emotion.

    and this,

The archetype of female predation is the devouring mother. Rather than providing nurture and care to her children, this mother weaponizes her children’s dependent status, using it as a mechanism to increase her power. Those under the care of the devouring mother are perpetual infants, never moving out of a state of dependence on their caregiver who shields the child from external threats while perpetrating unspeakable harm within the “safe space” of the mother/child relationship.

The feminist nature of culture’s understanding of narratives of power and predation is critical to the left’s overall moral and rhetorical framework because it was from this foundation that intersectionality emerged. This feminist sociological theory created the now well-known victimhood hierarchy by analyzing pain and marginalization through an exploration of intersecting identities such as gender, race, and class.

UN Blocks Food Aid to Gaza to Fake a Famine

    /snip

The UN is currently complaining that aid is too dangerous to deliver because of the “lawlessness” that prevails without Hamas rule. The real complaint is that Hamas is not in charge. The solution is not more food, it’s the restoration of the terrorists to power.

That’s why the more food gets delivered, the harder the UN complains. And now so much food has been delivered that the UN is restricting food deliveries to create the famine it lied about.

I have said this before; the UN is a totally corrupt organization, rabidly anti-Semitic to it’s core, and completely opposed to the USA. It is way past time for the USA to get out of the UN and to get the UN out of the USA.

Dr. Malone’s Substack has interesting info on the EU vs. Musk war:

Following a synopsis of the skirmish, he says this:

Take a moment to think about the exchange that just happened between @ThierryBreton and @elonmusk . This was a #PsyWar skirmish. Part of a larger war, to use Elon’s own words. Is Musk being trolled? Is Thierry Breton acting unilaterally or with approval of his supervisors? Directly confronting Musk has just increased Breton’s profile and status. Second time he did this. This is strategic behavior.

What do you think is going on here?

I posed the question to my almost 1.2M followers on X (of course), and received a huge range of hypotheses in response. You can find those responses (and my replies) here.

And then I asked the same question to the official “X” AI “Grok”.

“The exchange between Thierry Breton and Elon Musk does appear to represent a strategic maneuver in a larger “PsyWar,” with Breton’s actions potentially aimed at raising his profile and status by directly confronting Musk. This suggests a calculated move by Breton rather than a spontaneous reaction.”

As an American, I think I’d be very frustrated to travel in Europe now. They don’t have free speech protections. It’s bad enough that ours in America are being threatened.

Good morning, C&C, it’s Tuesday! The week’s news continues to deliver in robust 2024-style fashion. Today’s roundup includes: Trump makes his triumphant return to Twitter, causing a corporate media confusion and panic; FBI is on the Iran hacking case so we can count on nothing ever happening except propaganda; Mideast war updates with gloomier and gloomier headlines but no missiles (yet); Gilligan complicates NASA Starliner snafu; and Trump files the most encouraging lawsuit yet.

I’ve been resisting getting any more SM accounts because I really don’t like the whole “follower” mindset and who needs to spend more time there, anyway? I may have to get an X account, though.

Mr. C. starts off with Trump’s return to X, and his plethora of campaign ads, including this very good one.

Then, to the interview last night with Musk:

I called Trump’s return to Twitter/X a ‘flex’ because, until yesterday, the Democrats have been running against a candidate who was not on Twitter. Think about that for a minute. If Twitter is, as many report, the most viewed media platform in the world, Trump’s self-imposed Twitter exile was a major handicap.

What else has Trump been holding in reserve?

Setting that aside, Trump set history last night in what was probably the biggest Twitter Space in history. The last record was set when Elon Musk interviewed Ron DeSantis (300K concurrent listeners). Some sources showed over 17 million concurrent listeners tuned in for Elon’s Trump interview:

The MSM was all atwitter (pun intended) before last night’s interview. Chris Salcedo was discussing this clip from a WH press conference – a “journalist’ was asking KJP what the White House was doing to suppress “misinformation,” aka “words we don’t like”. Frighteningly, the response included a reference to “what the White House is working on” to do just that.

Musk provided more info on the impact of the interview. The Left is quaking – they can’t buy this kind of interest.

Early this morning (2:30 am EST), Elon Musk reported the stunning news that, adding the people who tuned in to the interview to the folks who listened afterwards, Trump’s interview had been heard more than an astounding billion times.

And that number will probably go up today.

…For weeks it’s appeared as though corporate media successfully froze Trump out of the public eye, swamping even negative coverage with its fawning reporting on Kamala “Plan B” Harris. Recall CNN called the coverage a “Harris surge.”

But Trump flexed. It didn’t take money or time or ad buys or teams of paid-off influeners. Trump merely returned from his self-imposed Twitter exile, crushing the Internet in what might be the single biggest media event in history. They can deny it. They can report it badly, focusing on the DDOS attack. But it happened — and millions of people heard the President for themselves.

I’ll concede how fortunate Trump appears. This couldn’t have happened had Elon Musk not bought the failing social media platform eighteen months ago. It couldn’t have happened had California not driven Elon’s companies to Texas and turned him conservative. It’s another sort of miracle.

As per the cyber attack on the Trump campaign, Mr. C. opines about the FBI’s very active investigation – into Iran. Because of course, Iran has a vested interest in election interference. No lollygaggying here! Not THIS time! Our election integrity is at stake – threatened by Iran!!!!

Iran denied it tried to hack President Trump’s campaign, as you would expect if they were phishing for political ammunition. So who knows? It could be anybody. Iran, Deep State, your guess is as good as mine.

In a wild understatement, Stone suggested, “It’s all very strange.” Touché, Roger, touché.

And now on to Biden’s failed international politics – which has pushed Russia into bed with (waiiiiiiiiiit for it……….) IRAN!

Iran didn’t just give Russia thousands of drones. Iran also gave Russia the blueprints. Iran also lent Russia some Iranian drone engineers. Now, Russia is making its own cheap and effective drones. It owes Iran a lot.

Nor did it help any when Team Biden let the Ukrainians use American weapons and our satellite targeting to strike civilian targets inside Russian sovereign territory. Russia is pretty sore about that. One day, we may come to realize that our decision was a foolish error of Bidenic proportions.

Here is a fact: Biden’s Proxy War is driving every major conflict in the world right now.

Result: Iran may very well make a significant attack against Israel soon. Russia will stand aside, wringing its metaphorical hands, and Israel won’t hold back in its response.

Mr. C. then moves on to compare the stranded astronauts to Gilligan’s Island. Quite apropos, I believe. No “3 hour tour” here!

But, how to get the Professor and Mary Ann back home?

I’m not sure who is more stuck, the astronauts or the NASA bureaucrats, who are confounded by difficult-to-solve and quite thorny technical problems raised by the election season. The only way to get fired from the Biden Administration is to embarrass them. Just ask former nuclear waste director, unattractive cross-dresser, and convicted luggage thief Sam Brinton.

Last week, Reuters reported that, if NASA gives up on the failing project, and the docking port lease expires, Boeing will try returning Starliner home on autopilot. I hope they read the manual first. In related news, a week ago, a SpaceX rocket delivered extra food and clothes to the marooned spacemen. I bet the astronauts were glad Elon Musk was running that operation, even if they can’t afford to say so.

On the legal front, Mr. C. is somewhat excited about Trump’s lawsuit against the DOJ regarding the illegalities of the Mar-A-Lago raid. Forbes groused about it:

Forbes’ article dripped with skepticism, pointing out that, since the DOJ gets 180 days to respond, Trump won’t likely file a suit until after the election. And, if Trump wins, Forbes groused, he might be unlikely to sue an agency he controls.

But to me, on the other hand, an agency Trump controls might also quickly settle with him, or it might not put up much of a defense. Either way, I thought it was telling that Forbes imagined Trump’s successful election. In its own article, NBC’s sub-headline was similarly suggestive:

Not only that, but Trump’s case has been buoyed by Judge Cannon’s recent decision to dismiss the Mar-a-Lago raid suit, a magnificent setback for the DOJ, which has appealed the decision. Forbes is hoping against hope. It reported that “other courts” rejected the legal grounds on which Judge Cannon relied, but Forbes ignored Supreme Court Justice Thomas’ lengthy concurrence making those exact same legal arguments.

Trump is an expert at making news despite corporate media’s best efforts to ignore him. Trump’s notice of claim joined the other recent signals that, after three difficult weeks of being the media’s human punching bag, Team Trump has quit playing defense. Now, it’s starting its offense.

There was a talking head on TV that said this case will go nowhere, because of government immunity standing.

I have no idea how or if the lawsuit moves forward, but the fact that Trump’s move will bring new life to his claims of disparate treatment and the weaponization of the government against a citizen.

I just got home – I had to drop something off at a UPS store in Pearland, which is next door to a big Conn’s store which is going out of business. I wandered in and found some good clearance deals on appliances, especially the refrigerators. Hubby’s mentioned to me more than once that our frig is geriatric by appliance years. It could run for 2 months or 20 years, but the possibility of appliance death has been tickling his brain for some time.

I was able to pick out a refrigerator and he’ll pick it up tomorrow. Fidel, my salesman, seemed grateful for the commission and a little worried about where he goes from there when the store closes. He was a real nice guy, but he appears to be in his 50’s or early 60’s – ages where finding a position in a tight job market could be a problem.

I hope Fidel lands on his feet somewhere.
