Gustatory pleasure can be found in many ways. Unsurprisingly, the best are generally the uncomplicated dishes one can find in various locales in all corners of the world. Simple things like buttered popcorn (#50), ketchup (#39), and donuts (#14) we find here in the US everyday count.
Dishes from other lands include paella from Spain (#47).
Poutine from Canada (#44).
Pho from Vietnam (#28).
Kebabs from Iran (#18).
Chocolate from Mexico (#3).
You’ll have to read the article for the rest, then debate what should have been there, but wasn’t and what was there that shouldn’t have been.

Pray for the folks in Vermont and Upper State New York. While irene may have been a big dud in most places, the prodigious amounts of rain produced have created a disaster in many parts of New England, especially along the Vermont/New York border.
To give you an idea of the forces at work, here’s a story about the Kancamagus Highway in upper New Hampshire being closed. The reason why that’s significant is the the Kanc is a scenic mountain roadway—-most of it runs at elevations far above sea level and above the populated areas in the valleys. The waterways that run across and along the highway are brooks and streams. They just can’t handle this much water. Keep in mind that the water that closes the highway in the mountains goes into the rivers running through the towns.
Water has no place to go up there. Mountain rivers and streams under normal conditions provide a white water canoeing experience that borders on insane, but they turn into high pressure water jets running right through towns and villages when you introduce more water than normal weather patterns provide. I spoke to my sister in Rutland last night. She’s days away from closing on a short sale on her house to avoid foreclosure. There’s a crack in the foundation with water gushing through and water pouring in from the roof. The local pizzaria has been moved 20 feet off of its foundation and may wash down the river altogether. Most bridges are out, some have been destroyed but noone will be able to tell until the water goes down.

I reckon food favorites are going to be a regional thang. Half that list looks like bait. Whoever made that list has never been to New Mexico, Louisiana, had a steak in Oklahoma (or anywhere), or tried jalapeno venison sausage. Their barbeque experience in Texas must have been a layover at an airport. I am also fairly certain the hamburger is iconic American fare. Hamburger is a citizen of a city over there. Isn’t smoked eel one of their claims to fame?

I had no idea how bad the flooding was up there. In the linked photos, it looks much worse than TS Allison was here. We had a lot of flooded buildings, but our roads didn’t wash away! Clearly, flood water on a flat plain isn’t anywhere close to destructive like when it’s coming down a mountain at you. Hope your relatives up there are all OK. -

Good morning Hamsters. Coolish 72 at 6 but with 92% humidity and ground mist galore rising in the Sun’s embrace, dew coating everything, breeze still sleeping. Another hot day beckons.
Nothing beats a piece or two of Dove dark chocolate; good for the ticker and good for the soul.
My comment #160 on the weekend OC came late last night and covers a forum for Republican US Senate candidates that Rep.Pete Olson hosted in Richmond yesterday evening. Most interesting, and amazingly, David Dewhurst showed up.

Adee, I hope you are correct that Dewhurst has worn out his welcome, but with his name recognition and personal wealth to throw at the campaign…Ted Cruz has been the choice of Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservative’s Fund (to take KBH’s seat) since January!

Plouffe: Mrs. Obama, I need to speak with you for a minute.
(Silence)
Plouffe: Mrs. Obama?
Michelle: Canโt you see Iโm trying to get the meat out of the claw? Itโs very tricky. I need to concentrate.
Plouffe: Mrs. Obama, Iโm afraid I have some bad news for you . . .
Michelle: Oh no, another masseuse quit?
Plouffe: No, Iโm afraid youโre going to have to cut the vacation short and leave a day earlier than planned.
Michelle: Oh, well I have some bad news for you: Iโm staying. Now scram.
Plouffe: Mrs. Obama, the president has to leave a day early to deal with the hurricane, and weโd like you to come with him.
Michelle: You think Iโm taking orders from a little worm like you? You look skinny. Why donโt you go get something to eat, worm? If he wants to go, rev up his jet and get him out of here. Now let me finish my lobster.
Plouffe: Mrs. Obama, Iโm really sorry, but weโre worried about the symbolism of the first lady remaining on a luxurious vacation while the East Coast is getting destroyed by a hurricane.
Michelle: Symbolism? How about the symbolism of me smacking you over the head with seashell?
Plouffe: Now Mrs. Obama, I donโt think thatโs necessary.
Michelle: Iโll show you whatโs necessary.
(She throws a lobster tail at him)
Plouffe: This isnโt working. (Calling out) Mr. President? Mr. President? You need to speak with Mrs. Obama.
Obama: (from far away): Iโm busy.
Plouffe: Busy with what?
(Silence)
Obama: Iโm on the phone.
Plouffe: Who are you on the phone with?
(Silence)
Obama: Iโm in the bathroom.
Plouffe: Mr. President, can you come over here?
Obama: Iโm . . . Iโm on the phone in the bathroom.
Plouffe: Mr. President!
Obama: Okay, Iโm coming.
(Obama enters the room)
Michelle: Your lackey here is risking his life by telling me Iโm going home with you one day early. Set him straight.
Obama: Michelle, Iโve got to get back to Washington to deal with the hurricane, and you –
Michelle: What are you going to do about the hurricane, fix peopleโs houses? You donโt know which end of a hammer of to hold.
Obama: Now Michelle, thatโs not fair.
Michelle: Last time you tried to hang a picture you busted open your finger and spent a whole week looking at it to see if it was infected. You canโt use a teleprompter to fix a house, Barack.
Plouffe: (under his breath): And people think itโs the job thatโs giving him gray hairs.
Michelle: Whatโs that, lackey? Youโre like Ed McMahon, always laughing at everything Johnny Carson over here says. Well I do what I want. And Iโve decided Iโm staying until Tuesday.
Plouffe: Oh God.
Obama: Darling . . .
Michelle: Donโt you darling me. Iโm sure Ed McMahon will fix everything for you. Now if the hurricane comes through here Sunday when will the stores be open?
Reggie Love: By Monday if the damage isnโt too bad.
Obama: Reggie cut it out! Sheโs not staying.
Michelle: What did you say?
Obama: I mean, sweet flower, please come home with your Barry.
Michelle: Screw you, Herbert Hoover.
Obama: Okay, send them in.
Michelle: Send who in? Hey, whatโs going on? Whatโs your Secret Service detail doing in here? Hey! Get your hands off me! Barack, tell these goons to let me go. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
Obama: Iโm sorry, itโs the only way.
Michelle: Youโll pay for this Barack! Iโm going to release your college transcript! People will know you flunked art history!
Obama: Go easy on her guys, I have deal with this back at the White House.

Does anybody know how to make pineapple taste like enchiladas?
Find your favorite enchilada recipe.
Take one medium ripe pineapple and cut into one-inch cubes, set aside.
Prepare enchiladas per your favorite recipe.
Discard pineapple.
Alternatively, Add cocnut milk & rum and make pina coladas and forget about the whole enchilada thing.

The Sunday Comical had a spread about Houston’s 175th Birthday. Page M7 contains a really great paragraph:
Our restaurants are crazily interesting; You can order Bombay-style pizza or Chinese gelato; you can choose between northern Nigerian food or Southern Nigerian food; you can get Cajun shrimp in a place run by Vietnamese immigrants, or Mexican sweets in a bakery run by Koreans.

Obama nominates labor economist Alan Krueger to be Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors. What are this guy’s qualifications?
The work he has done in academia ranges from attempts to explain why job growth wasn’t stronger during the 2000s, to findings that increases in the minimum wage don’t depress employment, to a work showing that terrorists often come from middle-classโand often college-educatedโbackgrounds.
Maybe job growth wasn’t higher in the 2000’s because pretty much everyone who could fog a mirror had a job? I’ve seen studies that show exactly the opposite results from raising minimum wage.
While at Treasury, Mr. Krueger worked on analyses of a variety of programs, including tax incentives to encourage employers to hire the employed, the “cash for clunkers” initiative to jump-start auto purchases and Build America taxable municipal bonds.
Oh, great. “Lessee. Who can we get for this really important economic post? I know! Let’s call up Clunker Boy.”

35. Chili crab, Singapore
You canโt visit Singapore without trying its spicy, sloppy, meaty specialty. While there are dozens of ways to prepare crab (with black pepper, salted egg yolk, cheese-baked, et cetera) chili crab remains the local bestseller.I developed a case of “gotta have more of this” while I was in Singapore.

#2 Sarge says:
While irene may have been a big dud in most places, Some places did indeed get hard hit and they deserve our prayers and help, but it really wisses me off when politicians like Chrisiti say there’s 10’s of Billions damage to just his state and right below that is an article that lists the insurance estimates total for the entire east coast at 7 billion and insured losses at 3 billion. Why do politicians have to make a crisis of everything? (Rhetorical question)

I spoke briefly with Ted Cruz after the presentations last night, and I congratulated him on the support he’s getting from Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Fund. He replied that Jim DeMint’s announcement of the Fund’s support came out the day David Dewhurst announced his candidacy. I replied that IMHO nothing Jim DeMint does is by accident. ๐

Meanwhile, apparently OBH hates Texas so much that he will turn down a national event with 8,000 attendees just to spite us.
For first time, White House may miss VFW event
By ABE LEVY, SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWSRepublican presidential hopefuls Gov. Rick Perry and Mitt Romney will be in San Antonio this week for the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention, but for the first time in its 112-year history, no one from the White House has committed to making an appearance.
Officials with the nation’s largest combat veterans association said they have about 8,000 registrants, many of whom are battling airport cancellations from Hurricane Irene to make it to the downtown Convention Center for today’s kickoff. That’s when Perry is scheduled to take the stage. By custom, he was invited as governor of the host state. Conference leaders said they have asked him to appear as state governor – not as a presidential candidate – because his invitation went out before he announced he was seeking the GOP nomination.

Some of the new state laws take effect on Thursday:
Rquires a doctor to attempt to show a woman seeking an abortion a sonogram of the fetus, to describe the image and to provide the sound of the fetal heartbeat before the procedure.
Puts more safeguards in place for private property owners when the government wants to take their land. The omnibus bill spells out that land only can be taken for “public use” to ensure that property cannot be seized for economic development. It also lays out circumstances in which a landowner can buy back property if it is not used as the government intended.
Parts of the Voter ID law take affect Thursday. Full implementation will begin Jan. 1.
Photo ID: The act will require voters to present a driver’s license or another specified form of government-issued photo identification, such as state photo ID, military ID, passport or concealed handgun license, along with a voter registration card to be able to cast a ballot at the polls.Drunk driving offenders under a law that doubles the possible prison time to 20 years for intoxication assault when a victim is left in a vegetative state. Also ups the possible jail time to one year for a drunk driver whose blood-alcohol content is .15 percent or higher.
Make it harder for prosecutors to convict defendants based on eyewitness testimony alone, make it easier for convicts to obtain DNA evidence to appeal their convictions and prevent young adults from being placed on the state sex offender registry for having a sexual relationship with a teenager.
Farmers and ranchers:
Make it easier for farmers and ranchers to get their products to farmers’ markets by eliminating some restrictions on how the food must be transported. For example, foods can be kept cold with ice chests or other devices, and farmers will not have to bring along an expensive refrigeration unit and generator, as some local officials have required. Also eases restrictions on “cottage foods,” or baked and canned goods produced in people’s homes, such as non-refrigerated cakes and canned jellies.
The law opens up a business avenue for cottage food providers and does not compromise food safety.
Lawmakers passed a bill that lets landowners arrange for the hunting of feral hogs and coyotes from choppers above their property.
Another law makes it legal to fish for catfish with your bare hands. (noodling)

The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on Monday urged increased surveillance and preparation for a potential outbreak of the virus, which it says has infected 565 people since it first appeared in 2003, killing 331 of them.
If Jimmy Dick will announce he is withdrawing the US from the UN and giving that group of leeches two years to relocate I’ll declare my support for him today.
Influenza spreads around the world in seasonal epidemics, resulting in the deaths of between 250,000 and 500,000 people every year, up to millions in some pandemic years. On average 41,400 people died each year in the United States between 1979 and 2001 from influenza.

I had a visit with a friend of mine that I haven’t seen in years. We spent six hours in a Panera restaurant, just talking and catching up. She didn’t want me going to their house because of the situation there – she needed to get away desperately and have some girl time.
The little girl they adopted years ago has turned into a terror. What was a cute but rather willful little girl has now turned into a fourteen year old teenager with severe personality disorders, among them oppositional defiance disorder. Listening to my friend describe her frightened me. She has no impulse control, thinks she should get what she wants, whenever she wants, however she wants, and the rest of the population be damned. She throws temper tantrums constantly, throwing things down the stairs, breaking window blinds, and putting her fists through walls. My friend showed me pictures of the scratches and bite marks on her arms from an attempt by the whole family to hold her down, trying to get her under control. In the past, the daughter has called the police and reported that her parents were trying to suffocate her, or that they beat her, or whatever comes into her head. She’s jumped out of the family vehicle as they slowed down at a stop sign near a bayou, and disappeared. Mom and Dad called the police to help find her, and with five cop cars at their house, she comes strolling down the street with a (as one officer described it) “a sh— eating grin on her face”. One cop put her in his car and proceeded to try to impress upon her at the top of his lungs how much trouble she could be in, especially if she ended up in jail. My friend said it just all went over her head. The daughter has a very high IQ, and has managed to steal the family’s access codes to several computers, and now has locked two of the computers up so that no one can use them. They have to be completely wiped and reloaded to be used.
This poor family has suffered so much. The father has had to change jobs, since he couldn’t handle the stress of his managerial position AND the stress at the house. He has some health issues of his own, and having to explain to the police and CPS that no, they really didn’t hit her or try to suffocate her takes a toll.
They cannot leave her alone for a moment, and they can’t let her have a cell phone or access to a phone of any kind. They have sealed her windows so that she doesn’t escape her second floor bedroom and run off. They’ve caught her on chat sites, which she is forbidden to use, talking to men. I asked if there were institutions that could take her, but my friend said they’re $40,000 a year, and they don’t have the money for it. They can barely afford her weekly psychiatry appointments. She has no remorse for her behavior, and cannot comprehend the effect her behavior has on others around her. It’s all about her, all the time. If she doesn’t get what she wants, it’s because everyone hates her.
I asked if she had been cruel to animals, and thank goodness the answer was no. Her medication – when she takes it – reduces her behavior to verbal misbehavior (screaming, etc.), but “she’s not violent when she takes her meds”. They psychiatrist has said that since they caught it fairly early, the treatment she’s receiving may keep her from being a total loss, but there’s no cure for her problems and there’s no real hope of her ever growing out of it.
They love her to death, and she may be the death of them. I’ll need to schedule more Mom days out for my friend. I just have such a hard time imagining how such a cute little girl turned in to such a terror. The last time I saw her was probably eight years ago. I prefer to remember her that way, if at all possible.
Keep them all in your prayers. Right now, that may be the only thing that can help.

Sounds like she needs an exorcism (he says half-jokingly). I’ll definitely add them to my prayer list. Mental illnesses like that have to be the most difficult to deal with. At best, medications seem to only mask the underlying issues. You’re then dependent upon the person to actually take the meds. It’s almost as if they’re missing that part of the conscience that makes us human. Bad deal all around.

#31 TT: Bummer. The girl kinda sounds like the demoniac who was inhabited by Legion; they eventually went to the pigs and drowned. A friend of mine had a step daughter who was afflicted with a similar malady, everything was about her, although none of the violence and police calling. She was diagnosed with “borderline personality disorder” She eventually grew out of it and is now a practicing attorney. Unfortunately it does not sound like your friend’s daughter is anywhere near the border; unfortunately she may wind up being incarcerated in a mental institution against her will as she is an imminent threat to herself or others.

How cool is it that the organization that actually invented the internet is the one to blow up Al Gore’s Climate Astrology scam:
The science is now all-but-settled on global warming, convincing new evidence demonstrates, but Al Gore, the IPCC and other global warming doomsayers wonโt be celebrating. The new findings point to cosmic rays and the sun โ not human activities โ as the dominant controller of climate on Earth.
The research, published with little fanfare this week in the prestigious journal Nature, comes from รผber-prestigious CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, one of the worldโs largest centres for scientific research involving 60 countries and 8,000 scientists at more than 600 universities and national laboratories. CERN is the organization that invented the World Wide Web, that built the multi-billion dollar Large Hadron Collider, and that has now built a pristinely clean stainless steel chamber that precisely recreated the Earthโs atmosphere.

You don’t know what you’ve missed until you’ve had a grilled eggplant sandwich. There’s a place in the tunnel under Pennzoil Building that has a very good one. If I get stuck downtown at the right time, I go and get one and pig out. Unfortuntely, I don’t go downtown unless I am forced, so my options to indulging myself are extremely rare. /sigh

Good link with some stuff about FLOTUS that was news to me:By 1991, Michelle was working in the public sector as an assistant to the mayor. By 1993, she had given up her law license.
What does it involve, to give up your law degree? I mean, besides the way Bill Clinton had to.

I thought the same thing, but I’ve known these people for years. I met the mother at a parent support group for parents of children with learning disabilities, and we hit it off right away. We ended up talking in the parking lot for three hours after the meeting ended, finally escaping each other around 11:00 pm. These people are amazing:
Their first child was purposefully turning himself over before coming home from the hospital, using a knife and fork (and carrying on a conversation with his parents during this restaurant dinner) at age one, and reading by age two. He began having problems in school, because the school system in Katy wouldn’t allow his program to be modified to accommodate his IQ, and he became very bored and frustrated.
Second child has William’s Syndrome, which carries severe learning disabilities and partial deafness. Despite his difficulties, he has a love for working with anything green and growing, and is building his own lawn care business. He started mowing lawns as a young teenager.
Another son is dyslexic, but loves karate and is one of the youngest black belts in the area.
Their remaining son is a gifted dancer, and has been asked to join dance troupes in different areas of the country. To develop his dancing skills, he had a very rigorous training schedule.
Of course, the only daughter is this one, who is biracial and was adopted when they took in a troubled mother to help her out. She is also in dance, though not as gifted as her brother.
Along the way, they’ve helped out several families and kids who just needed some temporary help or safe haven.
The father worked for Enron and they lost all of their savings when Enron tanked.
****
Each of their children had challenges, and all of them have been home schooled. Mom has teaching degrees and an extensive professional background in the field of exceptional education. She drove from Katy to my side of town to be at Handsome’s ARD meetings, and was incredibly useful in making sure we didn’t get screwed by the school system. How these two parents manage to handle everything they handle, allow and encourage their children to thrive, home school on so many different levels, and now deal with their daughter —
I am in awe. Knowing them, I know that they are doing the best they can in the best way they can. -

A new young checker … โEwww!”
I liked your short story, essentially about how it can be hard for a store to find young’uns who have enough couth to be allowed to interact with customers. I once made a quick trip to Krogers to get some sliced cheeses, after realizing we were completely out, but my husband hadn’t mentioned it when I made the list for the regular weekly shopping. A young gal at the Express checkout, whom I had never seen at that store before, asked me “Why are you buying all that cheese? Does your dog eat it?”

Why do they include people who aren’t even declared?
he survey, released Monday, indicates that 27 percent of Republicans nationwide support Perry for their party’s nomination, with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who’s making his second bid for the White House, at 14 percent. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin follows at ten percent, with Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani at nine percent, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. As an add-on, most professional licenses and certifications require a certain number of continuing education credits per year. She may have simply stopped taking the classes / attending seminars, etc.
Usually when you do that, you have a very short amount of time to catch back up. If you don’t and wish to renew your license, you have to go through the whole process again, e.g., take and pass the bar exam. It’s much easier to take a couple of classes every year (you usually just have to show up; there’s not a grade or anything).

Oh, and in regard to daughter terror – I don’t know that a corporal punishment would even work. From mom’s description, this girl lacks remorse and empathy and is unable to make an emotional connection to her family. Any physical attempt would probably just reinforce her idea that everyone hates her and wants her to be unhappy.
I do fear for the parents in the future. My strongest prediction is that when she turns 18, she’ll disappear for a while, get herself into trouble, and then ask Mommy and Daddy to help her out. If she survives the “trouble”.

Tedtam, I too have a friend who adopted a little girl, from an abnormal childhood background, who has severe psychiatric problems. She was always adorable when other people were around, but was vicious to the adoptive parents. She had reached age 16 when they decided to get her out of Houston, where they felt there was too much trouble the girl could get into, and they moved to rural Montana. Your story was reminding me I have not heard from them all year, nor had another Houston friend I checked with, so I have emailed Montana for an update.

So now I am wondering how MO (and BHO for that matter) managed to pass their bar exams in the first place. Is there an AA version of a law license, where they give you extra credit if you are a “v’unable”, to use Michael Berry’s term. Tex-can’s #59 link pretty much showed that neither one of them could write or think their way out of a paper bag. -

#59 From the link;
Had the partners investigated Michelle’s background, they would have foreseen the disaster to come. Sympathetic biographer Liza Mundy writes, “Michelle frequently deplores the modern reliance on test scores, describing herself as a person who did not test well.”
She did not write well, either. Mundy charitably describes her senior thesis at Princeton as “dense and turgid.” The less charitable Christopher Hitchens observes, “To describe [the thesis] as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be ‘read’ at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn’t written in any known language.”Ebonics?

Excellent article that confirms what I have known all along. Neither one is the brightest bulb in the package – far from it. I agree with both Schmutzli and jmlsmb above regarding affirmative action. How can it be that anyone, and I mean ANYONE, would choose to fly under that flag? It is demeaning and absolutely counterproductive. It is nothing more than cheating, in my view. We have become a nation of educational dumbing down and look what that has brought to us. In order to begin any sort of 180 turnaround we must include a complete overhaul of our educational system, a colossal failure if ever there was one. Obama will go down as the biggest failure EVER, and rightfully so. I do hope those who so fervently advocate for affirmative action and extol its virtues will one day be properly ashamed of themselves. But I’m not hopeful on that one.I read the letter in question and in Prof J. P. Morgan’s English class (undergrad UofH) that letter would have received an F; . . . . . . .and he is supposed to be smart??

I would have commented more on my #59 but figured the article pretty much spoke for itself. The comments fill in what was left out.
Obambi is a an obvious fraud.
The media now is charging Perry is an idiot. Let’s see Obambi’s transcripts and writing from the law review and we’ll compare them side by side. -

The actual meaning I took from BHO’s law review letter is “Let’s go after any employer who thinks he can challenge whether an AA candidate is qualified enough to hire.” I think the gubmint is doing that already in some of that EEOE-I-O regulation. -

This is neat; NM governor gets perfect score on renewal of her concealed-carry permit.
SANTA FE – New Mexico’s pistol-packin’ governor is a sure shot.
Gov. Susana Martinez received perfect scores on recertification for her concealed-carry permit over the weekend in Las Cruces. She scored 100 percent with both .38- and .45-caliber handguns, her staff said.
Martinez’s permit to carry a concealed handgun, originally obtained in 2009, was extended for another two years. -

Hey whiskerfish; it looks like you and ol Vlad Poooooootin have something in common, except for this:
Putin, an avowed fan of bikes, appeared to be riding the same massive three-wheeled Lehman trike conversion motorbike he rode to a similar meeting of the bikers in Ukraine last year.
I guess he hasn’t graduated form training wheels yet.

#93 YUP “Training Wheels!”….Sigh, I’m not a big Harley Fan, BUTT it Chaps my A$$ that so many guys buy the Rice Burning LQQk-alikes, It’s either a Harley or it’s not. If you want a HOG, BUY A HOG! Not a cheap imitation. The bike with the training wheels falls into the same catagory, ….Get a Dang Motorcycle or just drive a Yugo, don’t put traning wheels on any bike. FWIW; I’ve owned a few bikes (“Rice Burners”) and have riden the dreaded three wheeled Honda/Yamaha ATV’s and the only way to make a sharp turn is pull them up on two wheels. So are the trikes the same way? They’d have to be.
As a side bar, I test drove a Yamaha 350, two stroke ATV once and DAYAAM, I couldn’t keep the front wheel on the ground.

Regarding Lehman brothers. I worked with a young engineer who’s dad is one of the Lehman brothers. You order the trike and they order the parts and custom build to your specs. Mucho denero back in the nineties, even by Harley standards. Well built though.
They have done well. When I knew the son they were just gettting into the U.S. market. Seems to have worked out for them. ๐ Nice young kid, probably working for dad now.

With today’s standards and with the court rulings regarding the 14th amendment, there’s no doubt Jindal’s qualified for the presidency, nor Rubio and I agree with Rush that he’ll produce his certificate if he ever ran for the presidency. And he’d definitely call out the media’s double standard when used against him. But I would not mind a bit if laws were passed (amendment, umm, “ammended”) declaring that a “natural born citizen” would be on US soil **and** by two US citizen parents.
Though I won’t hold my breath for that to happen.
