Lying liars gotta lie. One can not make a Marxist change his ways; the only way to be rid of Marxist ideology is to drag said Marxists out of the classroom, off the campus, and away from a microphone.
WAKE UP SLEEPY HEADS!
Been awake since 4:30 AM, and your point is? 😀
I been awake for hours – just wasn’t really sure how this was gonna work on iPad… thanx every buddy for the prayers ❣️❣️❣️
Amazing: John “Lumpy” Fetterman takes the strong pro-Israel side when it comes to Iran. He is a loose cannon on their side, but he might actually be in the process of being red-pilled as he continues to recover from his stroke.
Mornin’ peeps. Nice to have the place back to ourselves after having company for the past week.
How about that? Ole Sarge has 5K+ subscribers on his “Bannerman’s Camp” site over yonder.
Oh and Mornin’ Gang
Victor Davis Hanson and a concise summary of ten blunders of the Biden Administration. If any R did such things, the Rs in the country would rise up and declare said person guilty of treason and demand his removal at a minimum. Biden and his controllers belong in GITMO for deliberate actions against the interest of America.
Can you say brilliant? Check out this shooting bench. 😉
It is even set up right now for a left-hand shooter. . . .my heart goes all a flutter at such goodness.
Anybody gotten tagged for Harris County jury duty lately?
They went from that huge “assembly room” to this dump of a room with the most uncomfortable seats they could find. Now they have this new “jury assembly” building.
What is noteworthy about this building is the new process for simply getting to the assembly rooms (there are four of them). You enter on the ground floor and go through security that’s even worse than the airport, as if someone is planning on hijacking it. You empty your belongings into a tub, but you have to put your shoes next to the tub. Then you have to let them see your ankles before you go through the metal detector. They made one lady take a sip from her water bottle to prove it wasn’t some prohibited substance.
After this ordeal, you go to the basement where you wait in another long-ass line to get to where they check you in and assign you to an assembly room. From arrival to this assignment is well over half an hour.
The summons said to be here by 8:00. I came in from Cypress to be here by that time. I got here at 7:45. It’s now 8:45 and nothing further has happened.
They still wonder why people don’t want to do jury duty.
I was called but was cancelled the day before. The parties for the trial for my jury pool reached a settlement. It still counts as if I had gone, so I’m safe for a few years. Theoretically.
Wagonburner. I must be the odd duck out. I do not mind doing jury duty. I really do feel like it is my civic duty. Over the years I have been on a jury it it does make me proud to see the system work. I take it serious and find the process of a trial damn interesting.
I agree. I’ve always believed it was my civic duty. I’ve been called up several times and even once for a federal jury pool. The only time I was ever chosen was when I didn’t wear a suit and tie. I had on a pair of Wranglers and sports coat. Attorneys like to choose people wearing flip-flops and tank tops to a serious procedure in which people’s lives, property and freedom are at stake. Slobs who aren’t taking jury trials seriously can be easily manipulated. Watch the hand !
I always show up when called, but they never pick me. I guess if I wanted to be on a jury I shouldn’t ask intelligent questions.
Me, too. Never minded it.
BSue is coming along nicely. She is walking with a walker for the time being, using her pedal machine 4-6 times a day. We start our walking regimen after the visit with the doctor. She starts physical therapy with a therapist this week. We are sleeping on our recliner couch to keep her foot elevated while sleeping. I will be so glad when that stops and we get to sleep in our own beds. I am grumpier than a she wolf with 9 baby pus because non-restful sleep. But like gas all this will pass.
Great news about BSue’s progress!
Won’t be long and she’ll be able to catch up to Squawk with that stick… 😀
I made a rosary for my Catholic Daughters regent. She is sponsoring a young girl through Confirmation, and asked me to make a rosary for her. I asked her for colors, and baby blue was one of the choices. I finished it this morning, and it is sweet. I had some baby blue with roses beads for the Our Father beads and small pearl spacer beads. It is a sweet rosary, and I’m really glad it isn’t red.
9:30
We got sworn in 30min ago. Nothing has happened since. This is fun.
We mailed a check to the local water company 8 days ago. They claim they have not received it. According to Google Maps, it’s a 44 minute walk or 14 minute ride on a bicycle to the water company office from our house.
I’m convinced slow-walking the mail is part of a federal conspiracy to force the public to accept digital currency to protect their credit ratings.
B4 you do anything else, check to see if it has cleared the bank. If not, then hand deliver another one and make it clear that should the other arrive, they should not cash it, but mail it back.
Watch the heads asplode when asked to do something reasonable.
The water company people are pretty decent folks. It is the USPS that is the target of my wrath.
Evil Bond villain, Klaus Schwab, is in the hospital.
Hell awaits.
Fr. Felix tried to encourage us yesterday. He mentioned in his homily that we shouldn’t let Pachapapa and his tyrannical behavior scare us away. Fr. Felix assured us that “good things are happening in the seminaries”. I’ve heard the same: a lot of the priests in the development pipeline are more hard core traditional than in the last few decades. One high up pachapapa supporter bishop even said that it was so noticeable that this “traditional tide” in the seminaries should be squelched.
The Church may be going through its own Passion right now, but if we faithful can ride out this heretical period, the traditional values will come back to the Faith. I’ve seen it said that we traditional Catholics will win out, primarily by using the same method of the Muslims: outbreed the competition. Traditional Catholics have more babies and are more devout than most of the novus ordo, liberal Catholics. Traditionalists follow the “natural law” of the Lord and don’t engage in birth control (many of which involve early abortions) or sterilization. I love that my church is chock full of little ones. The “baby choir” can be quite loud some days. So, those traditionally raised kids will grow up with the Traditional Catholic teaching. You know, the stuff that pachapapa hates.
I have hope, but I continue to pray for my Church. It was good to hear that news from my pastor, though.
Biden’s goons are letting millions of creeps, punks, terrorist and thugs into America and giving them money and documents. They are coming from China, hostile Arab countries and destitute Latino nations.
The one place near our shores where innocent people are suffering under an evil, corrupt Communist tyranny is Cuba. I have sympathy for any refugees from that hellhole, but not so the Democrats.
United States Coast Guard officials intercepted 16 migrants traveling on what looked like a homemade boat and repatriated them back to Cuba.
The migrants were spotted by a good Samaritan off the coast of Key West, Florida, around 9:30 a.m. on April 7, according to a press release from the Coast Guard. After spotting the migrants, officials from Sector Key West were notified of a “suspected migrant voyage.”
In an effort to “detect and deter migrants from attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. by sea,” the Coast Guard and “its Homeland Security Task Force — Southeast (HSTF-SE) partners” would continue to patrol and have a “presence” in the air and waters, the press release continued.

HEADLINE: HOLY CRAP: Joe Biden Approved Iran’s Assault on Israel ‘Within Certain Limits’
Biden is a backstabbing, evil, corrupt, scumbag on his best day. He is evil to his core and hell can not claim his soul fast enough for me. Netanyahu would be very wise to understand just how treacherous Biden is.

A point I haven’t seen anyone make. Saudi Arabia leaked they were getting ready to announce normalizing relations with Israel 2 or 3 days before Hamas started the massacre in Israel. The Saudis withdrew the offer or at least postponed it.
It was reported on Thursday Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, was entering formal talks to normalize relations with Israel. Saturday night Iran directly attacks Israel.
The attacks from Hamas and Iran were planned long ago, but the timing of them is interesting given pending events in the Islamic world. Iran’s timing is designed to disrupt any steps toward peace anywhere.
Michael Oren, former Israeli ambassador to the US, historian and author has written a column, Michael Oren: How Did the War Begin ? With Iran’s Appeasers in Washington
It’s a brief and yet concise timeline of events that led to Hamas savagery and Iran’s homicidal arrogance. Highly recommended.
Others might cite Israel’s willingness to play by the mullahs’ rules, retaliating against their Hezbollah and Hamas proxies rather than against Iran itself, enabling it to emerge from each round of fighting utterly unscathed.
But the bulk of the blame, fair historians will likely agree, will have to fall on the policies of those in Washington who sought to appease Iran at almost any price and ignore its serial aggressions.
and,
In Washington, the administration overlooked an Iranian attempt to assassinate the Saudi and Israeli ambassadors (including me) and ended a federal investigation of a billion-dollar Hezbollah drug and arms trafficking ring in the United States. Most egregiously, Iran constructed secret underground nuclear facilities and developed an intercontinental ballistic missile delivery system that threatened the entire Middle East and much of Europe.
plus,
As the Iranian centrifuges spun, the Biden administration entered into intense negotiations to renew the JCPOA. The talks were headed by Robert Malley, who was evicted from the Obama campaign in 2008 for meeting with Hamas. Under Biden, Malley became America’s special envoy to Iran, but he was recently ousted for mishandling sensitive information. Though the initiative to reinstate the deal eventually failed, the U.S. still provided Iran with at least $10 billion in funds that had been frozen, and reportedly much more than that in quiet sanction relief.
Mr. C. has his usual pithy comments on the current legal stuff. He has promised to keep us up to date on the daily doings.

He also has a few choice words about what’s going on with Iran/Israel.
Hubby & Gang had a hard weekend, working on one of our properties. Handsome even turned down barbecued pork ribs, and for him to turn down food told us just how tahrred he was. Hubby is taking it easy today. I talked to him about the garden last week, regarding the tub that took a nosedive into my asparagus bed as the seat I had it on had sunk its legs into the ground proximate to said asparagus bed. I can’t lift it, but the backhoe can.
Hubby and I discussed the situation and the precarious perch of another nearby tub, and he’s going to the shop some time today to get some straps so he can lift the tubs and put them into a safer position. He lubs me, he really does.
I do like a man with big equipment. ;D
I woke up this morning to a new shooting pain in my right shoulder. When I reached up to feel the shoulder, it didn’t seem right as if a bone was out of place compared to my left shoulder.
A cursory search reveals “Acromioclavicular Joint” or AC joint and I apparently separated it yesterday during our spring outdoor cleanup marathon. It is the joint where the collarbone joins the shoulder bone (acromion & scapula).
I think I have a Grade 1 or slight displacement of the joint. At least I didn’t just have my whole knee replaced like Bsue.
Take care of yourself, Texpat! My arm numbness seems to have gone down some, so I’m no longer as concerned about stenosis in the upper spine. As concerned. It hasn’t gone away completely.
OUCH! Shoulder injuries are some of the most painful and hard to rehab that there are. The shoulder is darned difficult to work on and very painful for the client. I see lots of light free weights and physical terrorists therapists in your immediate future. I am telling you this so that you can be prepared and not get disheartened.
I’m putting ice on it. I also ordered a shoulder brace from Amazon and paid $3 extra to have it delivered this evening. I don’t have pain as long as I don’t use that arm.
They opened an enormous Amazon distribution center (probably 2 city blocks big) about 2 miles from here. We get really quick delivery now.
Oh, and I have a bad habit of putting seeds out without marking them, since I’m having problems finding markers that will retain the labeling. The sun washes out Sharpie, I’ve found. I also have amaranth trying to establish itself everywhere, which I’m not terribly annoyed with, since it’s edible. But it’s a lot, so I’ve been thinning it out.
There were other plants coming up that I didn’t recognize (and I think I pulled a few). I finally remembered I have an app to recognize plants on my phone, so I shot a picture of the leaves and found it was my tomatillo plants. I’ve never grown them before, so I didn’t recognize them.
I’ll quit pulling them now.
The brazenness of the illegal mobs, trying to pull down a fence with Texas troops RIGHT THERE. Texas responds with pepper.

Buckshot would be far more effective.
Are you kidding me? Ercot has declared a power emergency because temps will hit the 80s across the state. Damn we are toast when it hits the mid 90s
It seems, as I suspected, ERCOT has their pants in a wad because March/April/May is when the O&G industry typically does all their shutdowns for maintenance, specifically the natural gas turbine generators and pipeline gas compressor lift stations. They are afraid too many locations are going to be down if it gets too hot.
I have no idea why there seems to be such a lack of communication and coordination between the natgas guys and the idiots in the ERCOT front office, although I have a theory. These things could be staged in a coordinated schedule between all the suppliers.
Why can’t they go crying to the wind and solar people ? Oh, wait, I know.
BINGO
Well, it looks like I need a new catalytic converter. Mechanic recommended getting OEM parts and not the knockoff like the last one we bought.
$1K+change
But cheaper than another car. Hubby was talking about buying me a minivan to replace this car, but I couldn’t see making that expense. “But if you keep driving it, the value of it is going to go to zero,” he said. “But I’ll have gotten my use out of it in the meantime,” I replied. “And I can be putting aside money so that the future replacement car’s down payment will be larger and the payment smaller.” This car is ten years old, and once we got over the cracked block/engine replacement, it really has run well with only a few hiccups along the way. I can cram a lot of stuff in it (found another chair for my garden today, btw), and it’s small enough that I can park it darn near anywhere. I’d like to have something larger some day, but it’s not urgent that it be today.
Hubby said he felt like buying me a new car because he felt some husbandly responsibility. I assured him that fixing my current car filled that bill, and thank you very much. I do appreciate everything he does for me.
I just replaced the whole exhaust system on our smaller run-around car and it was about $900 with an OEM catalytic converter but high quality aftermarket for the rest.
and once we got over the cracked block/engine replacement,
Cracked Block?!?! What is the make model? A cracked block is unheard of in any modern vehicle.
One reason he bought the Kia for me was the mechanics who said it was a good, dependable car. When we found out that the block was cracked, the shop had to search the whole country to find a good used one for me, because “they just don’t need replacement that often”. Had to ship it in from Minnesota. This engine has run like a champ.
Murder trial.
Dude got dead due to a deadly weapon: a motor vehicle. Defendant is involved in that bedeading.
All I know now. I’ll add details next week after trial is over.
Iranian citizens are praising the Israeli army and calling on the Jewish State to assassinate key ruling figures such as the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini, as Iran girds for a potential Israeli retaliation following an unprecedented missile and drone attack.
Residents of Iran are expressing those sentiments via social media posts and subversive street graffiti, with many asking Israel to bring down the government, which rules according to a strict interpretation of Islamic law.
and this,
On social media platform X, one Iranian user urged Israel to “come kill our leaders, who are already dead to us. We’ll pay for the [burial] shrouds and you’ll take care of the funerals.”
“This has gone on long enough. Forty-five years of the Islamic Republic, when will we finally be free?” an Iranian dissident anonymously told Hebrew-language outlet Ynet.
I recommend the Toyota Sienna Minivan, when you’re ready.
Do not buy the Chrysler.
Do not buy the Chrysler.
A Fing men!
Sounds like WB got picked.
Your car is ten years old. If it’s over 100K miles, it’s not worth much anyway. You are indeed quickly headed to zero – I agree. But I would never dissuade you from keeping it since y’all know the car well, and have already spent a lot of money surviving a cracked block. And Hubby can still do some work on it.
Any new vehicle that you buy, he won’t be able to work on it. I can promise you that.
And not buying refurbished or generic cat converters is very good advice.
