The local political news is that after redistricting we’re being moved from House District #2 to District #1. District 2 was the SE corner of Alabama that extended up into the eastern part of Montgomery county and above. Since most of the city of Montgomery was left out we were a Republican District. This of course made us racists so the map was redrawn to put is in District #1, mostly Mobil and Baldwin counties and even though the city of Mobile was included the majority was conservative taking in all the suburbs and the beaches.
Now that I’ve set all this up, our old District #2 Representative, Barry Moore is running against the incumbent District #1 Jerry Carl. Now I don’t know just how conservative Jerry Carl really is but I’ll be voting for my known conservative Rep Barry Moore. Lately there’s been a lot of attack ads paid for by a so-called conservative PAC that is beating up on Barry Moore and they say he voted against Trump’s Border Wall. In the ad they have the bill, HR 5525, listed in small letters but the date of the bill is July 2023?! Trump’s Border Wall?! I looked up the Bill and it’s basically the “Biden Keep the Border Open Bill” that just went down in flames. SO! This PAC is spending a lot of money to keep Jerry Carl in power, what does that tell you? Well Carl may or may not be a Louisiana Good-Ole-Boy type of Representative but when a well funded PAC spends a lot of money on ads you do have to wonder.
FWIW; These ads are running constantly, 24-7.

Last night, Her Highness asked me about Senator JD Vance’s wife and family since it was noted Vance quoted Dr. Seuss from the Senate floor wishing him a happy birthday. I told her I didn’t know.
I looked them up and Vance and his wife, Usha Chilukuri, have two children. What is impressive is his wife’s resume, probably more than Vance’s.
Chilukuri grew up in San Diego, California, and attended Mt. Carmel High School. She moved to the East Coast for college and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University in 2007. In 2009, she attended the University of Cambridge for a Master of Philosophy degree as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Her profile on the program’s website explains that she focused on “the career of John Field, a printer who operated between 1642 and 1668 in London and Cambridge” and that her “MPhil project investigated the methods used for protecting printing rights in seventeenth-century England.”
Chilukuri then returned to Yale for her law degree. While a student, she served as the executive development editor of the “Yale Law Journal” and as managing editor of the “Yale Journal of Law & Technology.”
According to her LinkedIn profile, she served as a clerk for Chief Justice John G. Roberts. Before that, she clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She worked for then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court in 2018. Chilukuri also clerked for Judge Amul Thapar at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky from 2013 to 2014.
For the record, a young attorney’s clerking resume is not necessarily reflective of their own positions. Just because Roberts and Kavanaugh have been duds is no reason to believe she is.
Judge Amul Roger Thapar, now on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, was President Trump’s first Court of Appeals appointment and remained on Trump’s list of possible appointees to SCOTUS.

We have a good 5+ inches of heavy wet snow on the ground and it is steadily coming down. Snow varies from very light, fluffy to wet and heavy. You can judge the weight of the snow by how bowed the tree limbs are. We are supposed to get another 1.2-2 inches before it quits at 1 PM.

If it keeps up like it is, we might make 10 inches of snow here. The plows came through and snow is piled so high behind our vehicles we couldn’t get out if we wanted to – which we don’t.
I know 10 inches is nothing to Texanadian, but it sure does bog things down in a densely populated place like Bergen County, New Jersey.

I am so DAMN angry right now I could just go postal on our government and Moderna. My Pastor just had a massive heart attack a week after he had stints put in. The stints got blocked. “WE” know the problem of the blockages is from the Covid shots he took 3 years ago even though the doctors have not said so. He has been suffering from Covid brain and Long haul Covid after he got covid after he took the shots and the boosters. Darrell is a good friend of mine who knew how to get me off the ledge when I let the cares of the world overwhelm me. He is not dead yet but the prognosis is not good. DAMNIT I told him not to take those damn shots. His wife is recovering from cancer that I believe was caused from the Covid Shots she took. Prayers for him and all who have taken that shot would be appreciated.

The one feature though worth listening to is an audio recording by an independent journalist interviewing the woman who has lived next door to the Lakewood Church shooter for the last four years. This Moreno woman was obviously violently insane and no one in the neighborhood could get any help.
The neighbor called every law enforcement and news media outlet in Harris County over and over and nobody listened to her or chose not to take any action. Stunning.

#29 Texpat and #30 Squawk. None of our family got the shot, that includes me, wife, kids and spouses, sister and all her family. My boy was afraid that he was going to lose his job because of it and he has a very high paying AVP job. His company all but mandated it and he missed several important functions because he refused to take the shot. He wasn’t allowed to fly or stay in a hotel, with the company without the shot. Fortunately they got back to normal early in 2023 and out of all the executives in his company he and one other guy, a VP out of Florida didn’t get the shot and that VP is close to or over retirement age.

CBS fires superb veteran reporter Catherine Herridge.
Elsewhere, some suspected the layoffs were more than just cost-cutting. Sources said Herridge had clashed with CBS News president Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews — a sharp-elbowed executive who was investigated in 2021 over favoritism and discriminatory hiring and management practices, as revealed by The Post.
Sources said CBS News’ Washington bureau, where Herridge covered national security and intelligence, was hit particularly hard.
I have been surprised for a long time Herridge managed to survive at CBS. She is the last serious, professional journalist left at CBS News. She has never been a woke left leaning hack like her colleagues.
The fact is she would probably be out of job in the near future because I don’t think Paramount is going to prop up the money-losing CBS News operation much longer.

You are probably right. However, since Her Highness has been watching so much Fox News lately, I’ve come to realize there is this endless stream of reporters contributors, hosts, anchors, etc. About 85% are women, smart and beautiful, but who could keep it all straight and remember who is who ? If you were a boss at Fox you could go crazy just trying to recall everyone’s name.
Maybe they all wear giant name tags on their backs and we just don’t see them.

Squawk, I am so sorry for what your friends are going through. I’m adding them to my prayers.
I finally got the asparagus plants in to their new home and finished moving dirt. For now. Feeling muscles I haven’t felt for a while. I saved a lot of the wild onions that were victim of the shovel. It’s big – almost double fisted – handful. Those onions are almost the size of the scallions you get at the store.
Gonna be for dinner tonight. Hubby’s planning on cutting grass in the next day or two. I asked if he had a gas mask. That onion smell hanging in the air is going to bring tears to anyone within a lot or two of our house.
If I get the hankering, I may go out with the shovel and dig up a bunch of ’em and freeze dry them. But that’s a lot of work…maybe not as much as I think. Those suckers are quite prolific and are growing closely together.
Off to work on dinner.

Oh, one of the things I did today was to drop by my lender friends new office. Good digs. I left him a goody bag with FD Jolly Ranchers and Skittles. His four year old boy asked for the bag when his dad picked him up. Once he got ahold of it, he wouldn’t give it to his father. My friend called me up, all agog over the goody (only one!) that his son let him have, one of the Skittles. We talked a bit about freeze drying, the whys and wherefores, and I think he wants one now.
Oh, and I said something about his kid bouncing off the walls with all of the sugar. Dad turned to his son and said “Don’t tell your mom that I let you eat all that, okay?” Kid responded basically that he knew better and would keep his mouth shut.
Made me LOL a bit.

“It’s something that I try to express, and I’m often called a traitor for saying that. It’s the opposite,” Carlson added to applause. “I say that because I believe in the United States. I think it has been a morally superior country, and if we allow our leaders to use our power to spread destruction for its own sake, that is shameful.”
Carlson is accusing Israel of making war on Hamas and their citizen auxiliary force, the residents of Gaza, as if Israel is doing this for sport and losing hundreds of young men is trifling expense for having fun. There are still over hundred hostages, maybe alive, maybe dead, and Carlson thinks it’s irrelevant ?
People have warned for years Tucker Carlson is a closet Jew/Israel hater.
I’d punch this arrogant punk in the face if I ever had a chance.

We got 8″ (maybe) and nobody won the betting pool.
It was wet, heavy and came down steadily for hours. This kind of snow packs itself down as it falls due to the weight so there is no telling really what the true measurement is since it will always be more than what you can physically measure. For all I know it might have been 12″.

I can’t believe that the House Impeached Mayorkas but they did have 3 Republicans vote against it. I’ve heard a lot of pros and cons about the Impeachment but I think it was the right thing to do.
