Liberals Replace Star Of David On ‘Coexist’ Sticker With Hamas Paraglider

LOS ANGELES, CA — Merchandising companies released an updated version of the iconic ‘COEXIST’ bumper sticker this week with the Star Of David removed and replaced by the image of Hamas paragliders.

“The best way for everyone to coexist peacefully is by killing off the Jews,” said liberal activist Molly Stanton. “It was high time we decolonized the ‘COEXIST’ message.”

    My question on this morning:

Over the last 12 years, between 500,000 and 620,000 people have been killed in the civil war in Syria.

In Yemen, over the last 8 years, it is estimated 150,000 people were killed directly and another 300,000 died from disease, famine and neglect.

It could be a million human beings dead.

Where are the protests and outrage from their fellow Arabs, their Muslim brothers ?  Where is the humanitarian aid and where are the Arab NGOs lobbying the governments in the capitols of Islam ?

Where are the campus and street protests from all these students social justice warriors over a million deaths ?

Iran is responsible for nearly all of this and yet one never hears an accusatory word of protest against them.

An American/Israeli businessman posted an open letter to parents on Linked-In.

You may want to consider that:

    1.      More and more employers are ignoring college degrees, recognizing that they typically provide little or no value to the recipient and hardly confer a specified level of education, let alone skills. I speak as the CEO and founder of a multi-national company with around two hundred employees (half of whom are in the US), and which engages with well over one thousand contractors. Trust me when I tell you that companies care much, much less about this than you are led to believe;

    2.      The cost of attending college in the US is astronomical.  As if the massive cost were not enough of a deterrence you should understand that even if things become so precarious that your child needs to file for bankruptcy, that even in that eventuality student debt is rarely discharged. Convenient, huh? College tuition and living expenses are an enormous commitment that is typically masked (via deferred repayments) and oversold to un-sophisticated ~18 year olds with little grasp of what it means for their future financial profile and whether it’s even a net positive at all;

and this from the National Conference of State Legislatures…

In late 2020, the Business Roundtable announced an initiative among more than 80 large employers to place greater emphasis on skills in hiring. Groups such as Opportunity at Work have promoted the shift to skills-based hiring and workers who are Skilled Through Alternative Routes(STARs). Opportunity at Work, estimates there are more than 70 million STARs across the country who gain skills through alternative routes such as community college, military service, on-the-job learning, or workforce training programs.

Skills-based hiring has gained significant traction in both public and private sectors, mainly through the removal of college degree requirements from hiring practices, sometimes called “tearing the paper ceiling.” Major companies such as IBM, Delta Airlines, Google and Bank of America have all removed college degree requirements. A 2023 survey found that 53% of hiring managers say their company eliminated a requirement for bachelor’s degrees for some roles within the past year. A 2022 survey of tech-focused employers found 40% have added behavioral skill-based requirements to hiring procedures.

I posted this late last night from Instapundit:

ONE THING THE MEDIA HOPES YOU WILL FORGET, AND ONE THING THEY NEVER REPORTED: They hope you will forget that Hamas still holds around 200 people, including babies, children, women, and the elderly, hostage. They have never reported, except in Israeli media, that 300,000 Israelis living near the conflict zones in Gaza and south Lebanon have been displaced and are living in temporary locations all over Israel.

A Liberal Jew and Conservative Catholic Walk Into a Bar

“I feel like we should be in a bar right now, even though it’s 10 o’clock in the morning,” I said.

“I know you, and that would not be a deterrent.” Geoff Berg and I have been friends for a long time, probably since 2009 or 2010. We met on Twitter. He had a Houston radio show; I had a podcast. He’s a liberal American Jew, and I’m a conservative Catholic convert. We disagree on 80% of policies, yet we remain friends — good friends, but not in the sense that we talk all the time or see each other regularly. I would go to bat for Geoff’s character and integrity any day of the week and twice on Shabbat; he’d do the same for me, just not on Shabbat.

The author, Ashley McCully, is a Marine wife living in Tampa and I believe is a native Texan and Baylor grad.

Read the whole thing.  You’re in for a beautiful surprise.

I just got an update on Green Cousin.  Cousin M told me the infection will take 6-8 weeks to kill, then she has to go to rehab…will she ever make it home?

I’m going to do stuff here for a while, then call BETA, her mom, and see if I need to stop and get stuff for her on my way to visit.  If she’s up to it, I may try to take her out to eat and give her a break from the hospital.

Kroger had a great sale on chicken thighs yesterday, so I bought four packages (glad I didn’t go for five – I wouldn’t have had enough room in the frig).  I cooked them all last night and will be deboning them today and running them through Elsa.

And I realized this morning that I bought tickets for D’Souza’s latest, “Police State,” but it is a limited showing.  I bought tickets for Monday night, a night where I have a standing appointment to meet with some friends.  I guess I’ll have to skip that one.  I don’t think the world will come to a screeching halt if I do so, I’m not THAT important.

Speaking of, I joined a Catholic veiling page over yonder, and I am amazed at the number of women who invest so much energy in navel gazing, worrying about what other people think of their veils, are they drawing too much attention to themselves, is it a vanity issue, etc., etc.   I just want to line ’em up and slap them silly.  Veil or not, no one else really cares.  I’ve never gotten any responses except positive ones, if anything.  And if someone has issues with my show of reverence, that’s their problem, not mine.  I had to respond to one such post that “I remind myself that I’m just not that important.  My main concern is not tripping over the kneeler when I get up for Communion.”  Got lotsa like and laughs on that one.  Seriously, ladies!  Whether you veil or not is just not. that. important.  to anyone but yourself.

Anyway, I’m putting the soapbox away and with coffee in hand…

    SIGNALING ☙ Thursday, October 19, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

Good morning, C&C family, it’s Thursday! Your roundup today includes: Biden poll numbers keep sliding despite Israel boosterism; RFK getting focus from conservatives; FDA study finds a second safety signal in kids’ jab data; democrats restless over Israel support; jews for peace insurrect the Capitol; Biden to ask for lots of billions for everything; Hamas General Hospital story debunked; and oil prices suggest more dark clouds for Biden (and the rest of us).

    NEWS:

Biden’s poll numbers were not bolstered by his “savior” trip to Israel.  From what I’ve seen, he put his cognitive disability on public display on this trip.

The muddy water is swirling out of the bribery bathtub. Biden’s shocking 32% approval rating on the economy is the lowest since he infested the White House, while his 63% economic rating is tied for highest disapproval.

And just wait till gas prices skyrocket because of the war.

He’s losing “large chunks of his base” for the upcoming election.

Yes, but is he facing re-election?

In another part of the poll, Republicans and independents prioritized securing the border with Mexico followed by military funding for Israel. Democrats prioritized military funding for Ukraine, if you can believe that, followed by foreign humanitarian aid. Which tees Biden up nicely for a massively unaffordable, budget-busting, inflation-inflaming Congressional authorization request for aid to all four parts: Israel, Ukraine, Gaza, and a little for our own border. Expect Biden to ask for all that at his national address tonight.

I would give a lot to understand the mind of a democrat voter who thinks the country’s biggest problem right now is low Ukraine funding. I’d also like to sell them some carbon credits.

I was listening to a podcast yesterday wherein the host posited that RFK’s independent status will be Trump’s loss in the election.  RFK will steal some Biden support, but more from Trump.  Because there’s more anti-Trump sentiment than knowledge about how liberal RFK really is:

According to the Post, RFK’s campaign website pretty clearly advocates for reparations, which are deeply unpopular with Republicans and sane people. RFK’s website explained:

“During Jim Crow, Black banks, businesses, hospitals, schools, and farms were targeted for destruction. Racists knew that without these, the Black community had no chance of building wealth. We must set federal dollars aside to rebuild Black infrastructure.
These programs complement direct redress payments or tax credits to the descendants of the victims of Jim Crow and other victims of persecution.  RFK Jr. will find ways to offer this redress that are legal, fair, and win the approval of Americans of all races.”

On top of all of the aid to foreign countries and illegals inside our borders…burying gold in the back yard is looking better and better all the time.

Then, Childers goes on to an FDA backed “study” on the vaccine.  Why are they putting this out there now, when they’ve been consistently lying to us for years?

A new preprint study published this week titled Safety of Monovalent BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech), mRNA-1273 (Moderna), and NVX-CoV2373 (Novavax) COVID-19 Vaccines in US Children Aged 6 months to 17 years.” It had twenty-one authors, including six FDA researchers.

First of all, this stud is essentially a government publication. The FDA paid for and managed it from start to end….

Apart from the six FDA scientists who directly work for the government, several other researchers disclosed receiving Pfizer and other pharma grants. A half dozen more work for (or with) CVS, which made so much money from the jabs it even embarrassed Scrooge McDuck.

The conflicts are significant: they mean this study would never have published if the FDA didn’t want it out there. I hate to sound cynical, but it feels like a limited hangout. I’ll just note that my healthy skepticism of medical literature is shared by the NEJM’s former chief editor and other insiders.

…They looked at the medical records of over 4 million kids jabbed with the original ‘monovalent’ vaccine, using data they got from three private health insurers. …They looked for fifteen different adverse health conditions — “signals” — in the immediate period after vaccination (days) and found two: a myocarditis or pericarditis signal within five days after Pfizer (12-17 years), which they already knew about, and they found a brand new signal for “seizures and convulsions” within three days after Pfizer (2-4 years) and Moderna shots (2-5 years).

The study noted that kids who died during the study were not counted. It didn’t even say how many there were.

To say the researchers soft-pedaled their findings would be an understatement. The authors criticized their own study every way they could think of, and said all it ultimately amounted to was a prompt for more intensive research, which will never get funded….

… who knows what kinds of statistical games may have been played.

There was the usual jab-protecting statements about safety and effectiveness, despite the life-changing or life-stealing effects that some folks experience.

Wow. I could spend three paragraphs dissecting that limited endorsement. “Known and potential” benefits? They had to include “potential” benefits to outweigh the risks! “Potential benefits” can mean anything they want, and has no real quantifiable value.

    /snip

Why would the FDA publish this now? One fondly recalls the brief life and sudden death of the FDA study in early 2022 hinting at a stroke signal in jab victims, sorry, I mean jab recipients.

We’ll keep an eye on this story.

Childers takes on the fake hospital story from Gaza: the pictures certainly make known the lie that the media was so eager to spout, picking up the Hamas line about the bloodthirsty eeeeeevil Jews:

As the Hamas Hospital story continued cratering yesterday, two facts emerged from the acrid fog of war. One: surprise! The hospital was not, in fact, destroyed. Photos showed the parking lot was pretty torn up, and the hospital may have some blown-out windows. Fact Number Two: credulous Western media accepted as 100% true all the fake photos and propaganda that Hamas pumped out in the minutes and hours after the unfortunate friendly-fire accident.

The rush to believe Hamas suggested the fake war propaganda fit some kind of predetermined media narrative or something.

Maybe this kind of thing has been going on for a long time, but ever since covid, media’s constant lying has become especially obvious and irritating. Remember all the Italian covid hospital pictures with the hallways clogged by bloody gurneys that turned out to be from a 2006 soap opera or something? Corporate Media is so unreliable it’s truly a miracle — mirabilia dei — that anyone still believes anything corporate media says.

I actually read the Latin and understood it in Latin.  The classes are paying off.  But I digress.

Look carefully at the Times’ front-page photo. Pretty impressive-looking destruction! But the problem was: that’s not the hospital. It’s not even a building resembling the hospital. It’s some other random building in southern Gaza where Hamas terrorists were hiding out, and not containing any babies or dialysis patients at all. Not even a band-aid.

    [insert image of building-turned-rubble]

The Times’ sneaky little disclaimer in the fine print did NOT make it better. It made it worse. They knew exactly what they were doing. What liars.

Following: a discussion about Biden walking a tightrope between the factions in his party.

Give me a break.  The dude can’t even handle stairs.  And the other leaders of the world are painfully aware of that fact:

After meeting with Netanyahu, Biden was then supposed to meet with other regional leaders, but Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority all canceled their meetings and Biden went home. So.

The Times article cited the Hamas General Hospital controversy — a fake controversy which it helped falsely create — as the trigger for lots of woke but uninformed U.S. democrats to decamp from the Israel support team and march squarely into pro-Hamas territory. Along those lines, outraged pro-Palestine Jewish “protestors” occupied and held the U.S. Capitol Rotunda yesterday.

I know what you’re thinking! You’re wondering whether the FBI is going to track the all these insurrectionists down using advanced image analysis, send stormtroopers to raid all their houses in the wee hours, perp walk them in front of their kids, interrogate their employers, charge them with criminal trespassing and interference, and try them before DC juries before locking them up for one to ten years.

Nope! It will never happen. What a silly question. They vote democrat. They’re not worried about it at all.

The end result of all of this going on is – rising gas prices.

Biden’s depleted our emergency reserve, our military is in a pronoun panty-wadding mess, we have swarms of illegals arriving to suck on the public teat, college students screaming for money to pay off their contractual obligations, folks are burning through their savings, the housing market is in a slump, the government debt is skyrocketing as this administration is just handing out cash like there’s no end to it….

…and now inflation is going to skyrocket as the price of fuel to run our economy goes higher and higher.

If there was ever a time for a foreign country to attack us, it is rapidly approaching.  How many terrorists were including in that astronomical “got aways” number on the southern border.  They are already here.

Oh, and don’t forget that the left is still pushing for gun confiscation/control.  Forget the paragliders that will have military grade weaponry.

The Health and Human Services (HHS) cabinet level agency has ordered its 80,000 employees to use anyone and everyone’s preferred pronouns in written documents in their work.

In addition to HHS, Just the News reports that at least five district judges in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals are demanding the use of “the selected pronouns of counsel, litigants, and witnesses,” and two others exert pressure on litigants to do so.

On October 6, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach sent a letter to Jerome A. Holmes. Holmes is the 10th Circuit’s Chief Judge. In that letter, Kobach notes that the idea that a person can decide what his or her pronouns are and demand that others comply is a recent development. He also asserts that the use of “they” and “them” can present problems when it comes to filing documents. Kobach also raises the issue that forcing someone to use pronouns and thereby “affirm such individual choices or feelings crosses a line and raises major questions regarding compelled speech and the First Amendment.”

Kobach also made a very salient point that by compelling the use of pronouns demanded by a litigant, the issue of judicial impartiality is raised. He notes that in doing so, the court is “staking out” a position on a matter that remains “unsettled in law and society.” He also questions whether or not a court has the power to order someone to use a person’s pronouns of choice.

This will end up at SCOTUS unfortunately because they have real problems to solve.  I think it will be overturned quickly.

Well, barbed wire has always played a major role in Texas history.  That hasn’t changed:

Texas has begun installing concertina wire along its border with New Mexico in what the governor says is part of an effort to stem illegal immigration.

The Texas National Guard in recent weeks has been placing the wire along a stretch of Interstate 10 near the Mount Cristo Rey landmark, the Texas Tribune reported. The news outlet estimates the wire stretches for about 2 miles.

Fencing is going up in other areas of the Texas-New Mexico border, too.

Texas National Guard members were also previously seen installing razor wire along the Rio Grande River north of El Paso, Texas. The area around El Paso is fortified with fencing and wire as the city continues to grapple with an influx of migrants.

Never fear, your government is in total control of the situation.  Good job, Luke Rosiak at Daily Wire.

The U.S. immigration enforcement agency hired a former spokeswoman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and put her in a position to determine who gets to come into the country as an immigrant or “asylum seeker.” Now the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officer is repeatedly posting pictures of Hamas terrorists parachuting in with guns and writing, “F*** Israel and any Jew who supports Israel,” a Daily Wire investigation found.

Nejwa Ali worked in 2016 and 2017 as a public affairs officer for the Palestinian Delegation to the U.S., which according to its own website, served as the “PLO office in D.C.” That office was expelled from the country by the Trump administration, but Ali landed on her feet, according to a screenshot of her LinkedIn profile, securing a job at DHS as an “Asylum Officer,” where she was tasked with “applying immigration laws and regulations to asylum applications.”

One day later at the New York Post.

An asylum official with the Department of Homeland Security has been put on leave after it was revealed that she once served as a spokeswoman for the Palestine Liberation Organization — and recently wrote “F–k Israel” in numerous posts supporting Hamas, according to reports.

One thing caught my eye was the smugglers across the Gaza-Sinai border were facing struggles of their own. Seems Egypt figured that that particular area of the Sinai would be a terrific place to build a fish farm…

…that then flooded most of the tunnels in that part of the border.

I’ve wondered for some time why the Israelis couldn’t just back up a few trucks full of oxygen and LNG and pump it all into a few tunnel entrances.

They could then either wait until Achmed, Mohammed, or Habib tried to light up a smoke or they could simply throw a flare in.

They’d find out a couple things pretty quick: where the tunnels were and where the other entrances were when Achmed and the boys shoot out.

Companies back in the 1970s and 1980s would give aptitude tests for hiring.  When minorities constantly failed  groups like the ACLU and NAACP started filing federal suits asserting these tests were racist and were devised to sift out non-white applicants.  Corporate America gave up and decided to start relying on credential based criteria like bachelor degrees.  Once those were devalued and rendered useless, they went to master’s degrees.  None of it has really helped.  Talk to anybody hiring college grads today and you get nothing but horror stories.  I know because I’ve talked to a number of them.  The nightmares my son-in-law has gone through trying to hire analyst assistants sound almost Kafkaesque and they pay nice six figures for overgrown children straight out of college.

College is a place where you could learn to top off your beer drinking with another beer.

well at least it used to be.

now it’s a mind numbing communist producing brain washing factory.

Whenever I watch a college football game these days, and it’s rare, I see a stadium full of brainwashed zombies cheering their own demise.

And here is Kurt Schlicter right on time.

    Academia Needs to Go Extinct

Crises clarify what is true, and what is indisputably true during this crisis is that academia, as currently constituted, is a poisonous cancer infecting our society. Like many other institutions, academia has gone from respect to contempt in the eyes of normal people, if not our garbage ruling class. But its latest series of public disgraces may wake up even the most obstinate cheerleaders for pretending that nothing fundamental has changed. And let’s use the opportunity we have been given to eliminate this dinosaur institution. At the top of our conservative agenda must be making it extinct.

    and,

Everyone recently saw that story of the A+ graduate with near perfect SATs who actually started his own company, and yet couldn’t get admitted into any of the top universities. He made the mistake of being Asian, which is a mistake on par with being some white kid from the suburbs. The colleges have decreed, and the awful wine women inhabiting their admissions departments concur, that if you were those things you don’t get a shot. Merit is dead for the designated undiverse. And when people realize that their kids are out of luck if they don’t have some bizarre gender identity or something else that makes them thrill the hearts of the Chardonnay-swillers who pick and choose the Ivy student bodies, these voters are going to say “Oh, hell no!” next time they are asked to subsidize academia both with tax money and respect.

    Just so you know.

The Texas Rangers act like the Muslims when they make a map omitting Israel from the face of the earth.

A map of Texas greets fans as they enter the Rangers’ Globe Life Field. The map lists more than 60 Texas cities and towns, but omits Houston entirely. Well played, Arlington. — Matt Young

I just got back from my visit with Green Cousin and Beloved East Texas Aunt.

Green Cousin was green except for her back.  Her therapist showed up and as he got her out of bed I could see GC’s back.  From mid-back down, side to side, it was all shades of purple and green.  Some of it was from her fall that broke her L1 vertebra, but I think more of it was from all of the treatment of her infection at that site – an infection that BETA assured me was dangerous and life threatening if not treated.

But despite her pain, GC was having a good day.  She was alert and happy to see me.  The therapist was pleasantly surprised by how well she did walking today.  He thought he was going to be lucky to get her standing, much less walking.

We talked for several hours.  BETA loves this pope, and I told her I despise him. She loves what he’s doing with birth control, and I reminded her of doctrine. She and I can have very strong differences and still have a good relationship.  That’s rare these days.

GC is looking at weeks in the hospital for now, and then weeks in a rehab facility.  After hearing my other cousin describe her condition, I was afraid I’d be depressed after visiting them, but I have hope for her now.  Her life sucks, but at least we had a good afternoon together.

My apologies! Looks like I forgot to login and say HI this morning. I did have some shopping to do, so I was out part of the day.

So Thiel was apparently connected to Charles Johnson (yes, THAT Charles Johnson).  Out of morbid curiosity, I checked in on LGF (won’t dignify them with a link) and don’t even recognize the site any more.  I hadn’t checked in on that site in many years, but yeah.

A while back I had read that we’re in that awkward phase where it’s too late to work within the system to change the disastrous path we’re on, but too early to start shooting.  Not so sure about the second part now.

Well that was grueling, watching our wondermous President stumble through a speech about Ukraine, antisemitism and a little bit about Israel. It was hard to follow since he was all over the place going back and forth. He said a little about Iran but nothing about their involvement. Oh and we’re all a bunch of Palestine and Muslim haters we need to stop that.

The scariest part of the speech is that it was seen all over the world.

    God help us.  ~SIGH~

‘Stros are up 9 to 3 in the 7th.  At least Texas will have come up with 7 runs to beat us and they only have the 2 innings left.

It is baseball though and it ain’t over till it’s over.

Altuve just made a throw from beyond second base to first by doing a ballet style spin in midair while hurling the ball for an out.

The video clip will be a keeper.
