We called spouse’s brother and wife in Wisconsin near Madison earlier this evening to check on their weather. They’re in the 90s at the moment and for a few more days. That is apparently thanks to the heat we have here moving up there only not getting in the 100s. Their home has central AC and so they are comfortable. … Read more »
he’ll probably ramble on about how this situation reminds him of when he stepped in the mud when running back into his house in 1973 to rescue his burnt toast.
I’ve put Elsa on about 12 hours of extra drying time and I’ll just do the next weigh-in in the morning. The chicken is still steadily losing grams, so there’s still water being sucked out. I strained the bones and veggies out of the crock pot broth. I filled my silicone cupcake tins with broth and it’s in the freezer;… Read more »
I fixed some Rubens on my Blackstone tonight and the wimmin’s were impressed. Some of the best ever it seems. The good news is that I can cook them all at once and it only takes a few minutes. It takes way longer to get the griddle ready than to cook.
Some of our tenants are just the best. One of them Zelled us the rent as usual, then texted me to verify that I got it. As soon as I assured her we’d received it, she called. She hadn’t talked to me in months, and just wanted to check up on me. Turns out her little 3 year old boy… Read more »
The Brazos at Richmond has many sandy areas showing through what water there still is. Looks almost as though you could walk on the riverbed. Truly looks strange, and scary.
And supposedly some rain for our general area should come in the next couple of day. Not holding breath…
Grankids and parents went camping in their RV in Livingston at Onalaska this weekend, we went and spent the afternoon with them. Water is so low there are virtually no boat traffic, looking as far as you could see I saw two boats and a couple jet skis, on a holiday weekend. Strange.
Normal rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. I’ve been experiencing “Bradycardia” since Thursday evening. It’s a strange feeling. My heart rate has been as low 32 beats per minute and never higher than 55 for a few seconds before it drops back to 42 and lower. I don’t have any other symptoms other than a mild case of… Read more »

Good Grief ! Texas Christian last season came within one win of a national championship. Colorado won one game. I visited with them during the break and they came back out and performed a great old Delbert McClinton signature song for me. (It was originally a Temptations song.)

I don’t know if you caught my okra posts. Since I can’t have popcorn and I like okra, I ran two trays of seasoned okra and two trays of plain. Dehydrated okra is okay, but it’s a little chewy. Great as an ingredient and passes as a snack (for me, anyway). The FD okra came out very light and reminds… Read more »

Elsa’s full of chicken now. I cut the breasts to make them thinner. I have enough for another run or two after this one. According to my receipt, I saved almost $70 by buying the sale chicken. Jimmy Buffett owned one of my all time favorite airplanes, a Grumman Albatross and he flew it himself.
Amen to that! What is truly amazing is that these clowns really believe all this bilge water.
Raphael Warnock & Gretchen Whitmer!?!?!? BAWHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Woops, one of them woke up, got up, is sniffing around to see if there is any little bit of catnip that got overlooked.
Morning, pals-o-mine! The family room floor is covered with catnip-stoned puds. Looks like they are all knocked out for a while.

Scrolling up, the dried okra snack sounds like a great idea. Just wondering what kind of seasoning you might put on them.
Oh and I’ve always made Gumbo from scratch.
And;
That’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are. 😀
Yesterday was opening day for Dove season and J Nine would have sent me a text. I do miss that young lady.
Mornin’ Gang
I started some chicken stock yesterday. I woke up to the whole house smelling like chicken soup. That gives me an idea for dinner….
Sounds like Shannon had a good evening. Love that.
I visited with them during the break and they came back out and performed a great old Delbert McClinton signature song for me. (It was originally a Temptations song.)
Lady Luck and four leaf clovers, won’t ease this pain I feel all over
A good time was had by all. 🙂
After singing at church, I treated myself to dinner at this new place in Sealy.
Then I wandered downtown into one of the oldest saloons in Austin County….because I heard some live music, from two blocks away.
Had a great time listening to this guy and his band.
What a trip it’s been.
I may never come back.

Gotta load it on the trays quickly, before the slime factor makes them difficult to handle.
Cut pods, and you can find it non-breaded. Folks like to make gumbo ‘n stuff, after all.
Whole pods, or cut? I don’t think I’ve ever bought frozen okra unless it was pre-breaded LOL
Just the special frozen food aisle. My garden is barely hanging on.
That does sound interesting 😉 is your okra putting out that much, or did you get this someplace special…
