The Texas Heist / Do Democrats Run the Texas House ?
By Michael Quinn Sullivan
This is a very well produced video of political history of the state legislature since the 1990s and how Texas arrived at this position today – the lies, the backstabbing tricks and the chicanery.
Shame on you if you don’t watch the whole thing.
Forgot to add: Texan by choice, not by chance.
G’night All.
Unfortunately Fort Bend County is one of the fastest growing counties in the US. Got too many northerners escaping the MidWest and East and Californication coming to Texas and to our county. So we who have lived here for many years are slowly being mixed with newcomers, many of whom come from liberal areas elsewhere and are rather startled to… Read more »
Wrong kinda Indian.
🙂

is that Baretta reincarnated?
And then there is twice-elected Fort Bend County Judge, KP George
Democrat
Whooooof…. I won’t have to be rocked to sleep tonight. I finally got my FD stir-fry veggies vac-sealed and put away, and most of my mess cleaned up, after doing some cleaning in/around the chest freezer. At least, everything is cleaned and put away – still gotta make the coffee if I can find enough energy, and the Astros game… Read more »
Hubby just got back from helping a friend trailer a Karmann Ghia to their house this evening. As he pulled into our driveway, he saw a wrecker pull in to the driveway next door. This is the house that’s been vacant for years. The house where dogs had been left alone inside for weeks at a time. We know there… Read more »
I went to the Doc today, too. Six month check in and blood draw at the hospital.
I just got of the phone with daughter and she had HR story from hell, complete with pictures. If I have time I’ll report on it tomorrow. 😉
So, I’m not keeping up but daughter and SIL lived in Fort Bend county (Richmond) when it was deep red but they say it’s already turned blue. SIL was a Probation Officer for the county and loved the fact that they had good normal judges unlike Harris County. As y’all may know daughter and SIL have been in Midland for… Read more »
I knew about the whole Covid and Costner thing. I’m still surprised there was zero progress on production prior to the strike.
FWIW; The FEMA folks are all staying at 5 star hotels on Maui, $1K to $1.4K per night.
That is all.
The Fort Bend Sheriff’s race did have some unique peccadillos going for it.
I think there are Texans of many stripes who don’t like the idea of family dynasties when it comes to a Sheriff’s Office.
But, gee whiz, a progressive Democrat????
Perhaps Adee can shed light..
Case in point:
Fort Bend County Elects First Black Sheriff Since Reconstruction
A progressive Democrat
52 Shannon We’ve talked here about the last half of the final fifth season a number of times. Covid and Costner’s personal dramas screwed up the shooting schedule for the finale episodes. Now with the writers’ strike and sympathetic related unions not crossing picket lines, it’s been pushed back again until probably late 2024. I don’t think Costner will appear… Read more »
49 Shannon The Democrats finally got organized down there in 2020/2022 in Fort Bend and focused hard on knocking doors and registering voters and working people who had never voted or been engaged in politics before. It shows. I think the local conservative residents thought Fort Bend would always remain a red county. If they don’t get off their butts,… Read more »
And I was surprised to learn that Part 2 of Season 5 hasn’t even started production yet.
I somehow missed the news that CBS is going to show Yellowstone this fall – starting from the beginning.
I can’t imagine that it won’t be butchered up…..to make it acceptable in prime time.
Waiting for Nat to finish – pretty sure things are good and DRY now… I think I have just enough energy left to empty the trays (I think they are all Stir Fry veggies) into a 1/2 gallon glass jar with a couple o2 absorbers, and call it good. Trying to remember if the last batch all fit into one… Read more »
Fort Bend County is an enormous blob of humanity, now…….which – judging from some recent Democrat gains – isn’t quite sure what it is politically anymore.
If only there was some way to get every registered Republican voter in District 26 to watch the whole 38 minute Michael Quinn Sullivan video.
47 Shannon And everybody is all outraged over Dade Phelan and the fake conservatives betraying the citizens of Texas. But the citizens of District 26 can’t even offer a real live conservative alternative ? I know, I know. Jetton was an unknown quantity, but now there are no excuses. He obviously lied to everyone and now it’s time to… Read more »
Here is State Rep. Jayce Jetton’s House District 26
Somehow the governor of Hawaii and his cronies like Oprah are going to end up building some kind of ghetto housing project for the survivors of the fire and them turning that scorched land into some kind of super resort for the very wealthy. They will tell everyone it’s to honor the memory of all who died in the flames.
Note: Jetton ran unopposed in the last primary.
Yes, Doood.
If the Democrats burned down the entire state of Hawaii, they would still vote for Democrats.
And the farthest Left ones they could find.
I didn’t realize the entire 26th District of the Texas House of Representatives is inside Fort Bend county. This Jacey Jetton is the traitorous RINO from Shannon’s list in #26. Jetton was only elected in 2021 so he hasn’t had decades in office to build a network of support and people who owe him favors. Anybody have inside connections to… Read more »
I bought stuff to make more cheesecake, but I think it’s gonna hafta wait until I get this stuff finished up. I also ordered an ingredient I needed for a lemon caper sauce that I couldn’t find at the store. It should be here tomorrow, so I can make that sauce to keep on my shelf, too.
Texpat 6:35, Who have the Donkeys got to blame besides other Donkeys in charge of screwing everything up? 🙂 I am sorry for the long-time citizens of these cities having this mess dumped on them. Hope they clearly see who dun-it and vote accordingly come election time. But at least they all will get a front-row seat to what happens… Read more »
It’s mostly fun stuff for Elsa this time around. I’m FDing ice cream sandwich bites and scoops of ice cream. I am also doing my General Tso’s and brown sauce. Hubby will get one jar of ice cream sandwich bites, and I hope I can keep the rest of them safe until I give them away as gifts. I need… Read more »
I won’t believe it until I see it, but there are more than a few Democrats up here worried about the whole overwhelming illegal alien disaster and the absolutely outraged and furious black and Asian residents who are forced to deal with these people everyday on the streets. These leftwingers are scared to death these voters are going to turn… Read more »
This is a public service notice confirming that living as a debauched party girl and mascot for the Rat Pack in Las Vegas doesn’t mean you can’t have too much fun and still live a long life.
Angie Dickinson will be 92 years old on September 30th. Don’t forget to wish her happy birthday.
#40 Dooood, you’re absolutely right Hawaii will go for Biden 80-20. ~SIGH~
We had news here on the banks of the Brazos at Richmond. We had RAIN here midmorning, a whole 2/100ths of it that washed a bit of dust off everything. Urged kitty Purrscilla to do her happy dance, but it was all over by the time she woke up and looked around. These days we are grateful for anything with… Read more »
I enjoy the writing of Mr. Childers in general, but I have to say, he’s considerably more optimistic than I am. Blue zoos always seem to find a way to place the blame anywhere but on their own choices.
Texpat 1639: At what point will the injured one, in this case Ramaswamy, be able to sue for defamation, libel, and slander for the deliberate misinformation perpetrated by these telesluts and their pimp CNN?
So I’ve spent too much time sitting in doctor’s offices today so I read two articles that are even more infuriating than usual. I warned early on about the MSM and the DNC working every angle to create division and distrust among Republicans and conservatives leading up to 2024. It turns out the alleged “listless vessels” insult to Trump supporters… Read more »
Shortie seems like the ideal ‘volunteer pup.’
We don’t know much about Shortie’s history. She walked down the driveway last Wednesday, came up the ramp to us sitting on the porch and hasn’t left since – I’d seen her come out of the woods, so don’t know where she came from but it was pretty obvious, she had been camping “solo.” The first night she stayed outside… Read more »
Sarah, my pup, graduated today with flying colors. This makes me very happy and her too. She is calmer when we don’t keep her confined to a very small space. She KNOWS that I don’t like it when she relieves herself in the house and she wants to please me. She is a very smart doggie.
#33 Bones – you give us hope… Shortie doesn’t normally do anything in the house, except in the middle of the night… Last nite when I had to get up and go, I took her out… and we awoke to nice, dry floors 😉
Thanks for the work on the Dirty Dozen Shannon. Screw the panhandle, bunch of farmers.
My mixed breed puppy, born 20March23 stayed home today and not in the laundry room. No poop, no pee, not even on the pad. She is a very good girl.
She had free roam of the house except for the bedrooms, all upstairs.
Here is an interesting bit of Texas political trivia for you….
I’m telling you, it’s time to close the gates. We have enough people in Texas now.
On my way home, through the neighborhood, I encountered fifty yards of wet asphalt.
I guess that was our rain for the day.

And let us not forget the evil, horned SOB that sits at the head of the table of these twelve henchmen:
Speaker Dade Phelan, Golden Triangle to Jasper.
Hey now, I was guaranteed six months of free tacos if these gutters didn’t work.
I made my final effort to put hands on kitty JoJo and get her popped into the large carrier, for a trip to the vet where I needed a lesson in how to massage a medication onto the back of her neck. Didn’t even come close to having her in my hands. I chased her upstairs and then downstairs twice,… Read more »
/Tee hee hee. He really thinks that gutter warranty is for real.
Okay, here they are; The Texas House Dirty Dozen and the areas they represent. These people are lying traitors to the conservative movement – every single one. Charlie Geren, N. of Ft.
