Facing possible historic losses and control of congress, our self-anointed Prince President has proclaimed:

“It may be that regardless of what happens after this election, they feel more responsible,” he is quoted saying in the Sunday edition of The New York Times Magazine, “either because they didn’t do as well as they anticipated, and so the strategy of just saying no to everything and sitting on the sidelines and throwing bombs didn’t work for them, or they did reasonably well, in which case the American people are going to be looking to them to offer serious proposals and work with me in a serious way.”

In other words, “you’re gonna have to do it my way.” But when the Republican congress starts sending him legislation and he vetoes it, that “party of no” line will come back to bite him.

Among the regrets the president said he felt during the 111th Congress is letting Republicans make him out to be “the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat.”

Um, Mr. President, all evidence points to that being fact.

Another regret expressed by the president was his failure to communicate effectively. Obama said he and his team took “perverse pride” in focusing only on policy while ignoring the sales pitch to the public.

He said he realizes now that “you can’t be neglecting of marketing and PR and public opinion.”

Yeah. That’s it. It’s not 10% unemployment, massive entitlement increases, an unpopular health care bill, or an astronomical deficit. You neglected your sales pitch.

Yet you disdain a great many candidates the Tea Party has put into play.

I’m sorry, but this stupid “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” commercial with the lady in the red dress singing and dancing in the grocery store possibly is the absolutely worst commercial EV-ER!

I may not buy the product just because of this commercial.

#96; I’ve suggested before that “legislating from the bench” and “judicial activism” are terms selectively and subjectively applied by those who disagree with a ruling. I disagree with the bench violating state’s rights period, despite my ideology on the topic presented before the court. Squawkie, I supported RP despite a number of philosophical differences in a number of areas, all the while knowing that he never stood a chance. He wissed off big government republicans as well as big government democrats. I find that hard not to like.

I still hear echos of the revolution in many places. No regrets here.

Can’t argue with you here:

Judicial activism IS the same as legislating from the bench.

I agree. My comment above makes no distinction between the two, neither in their definitions, nor in their applications.
