Here’s a list of “conspiracy theories” that ended up being “inconvenient truths” for the left lovers of authoritarianism.  Here are a few excerpts:

  • At the beginning of the pandemic, when Dr Geert Vanden Bossche warned that imperfect and overused vaccines could lead to dangerous viral mutations, the idea was heavily censored on social media and Vanden Bossche was called a quack, Iversen said.
  • The COVID-19 lab leak theory wasn’t a conspiracy theory.
  • People who in 2020 said the COVID-19 lockdowns and mandates would “change the fabric of American Freedom by ushering in an unprecedented surveillance state” were labelled by the media as conspiracy theorists, Iversen said.
  • The mainstream media pushed the narrative that the COVID-19 vaccines were safe and effective with only minor side effects and anyone who believed otherwise was ridiculed and considered a pariah to society, Iversen said.

Iversen suggested that people should consider it a “badge of honour” to have been once called a “conspiracy theorist,” adding that on Twitter people are now saying if “they’re calling you a ‘conspiracy theorist,’ they’re really saying ‘spoiler alert.’”

“That’s really a more accurate term for it,” she said.  Here’s the link to watch.

On the way to retire for the night, but first must figure out how to ignore the cicadas around the house.  Seems to be a lot of them, and they are loud.

Sarah.

If I’d ever had a daughter, that would be her name.

I’ve never heard of rosemary taking over anything. Usually it’s an upright bush. There is a creeping variety that you may be thinking of, but that should be easily prunable. Those of you people who live in wooded areas or anywhere that has a deer population may want to plant some around your gardens. According to Alton Brown, deer won’t… Read more »

Just up from an afternoon nap that started right after coming home from lunch around 2:30. The heat makes it much easier to compel a nap because we’re stuck inside with not a whole lot else to do that doesn’t wear you out, AC or no AC.  Time to hibernate.  And everything outside looks so wonderful until you stick your… Read more »

My complaint with rosemary is the same complaint that I have with garlic….90% of the cooks overdo it 99% of the time.

Ain’t it the truth and can I interest you in some Curry?  😀

Keep in mind that rosemary is slowly invasive in a flower bed.

And it stinks like rosemary.

Not a fan. 🙂

But then, nobody ever accused me of being a galloping grommet either.

Thing is, the rosemary & thyme are perennials.  I paid about $8 for both a few years ago.  Only annual ones I have are basil, sometimes sage, parsley, & cilantro.

n.b. – they’re herbs.  Spices are from the seeds, bark, roots, etc.; herbs are the leaves.

We dined for the noon Anniversary today since scarcely any place is open on Mondays.  There are enough leftovers to make a meal for tomorrow and then some, and enough wine left in the bottle to pour enough for two tomorrow.  Waste not, want not. 🙂

The bad thing about actually staying to eat at Millheim (instead of getting it to go) is that the temptation to go back for seconds is overwhelming. I stupidly went back for seconds.

Damn gluttony.

Good Morning Hamsters.

Happy Father’s Day to our Hamster Dads of all fatherly descriptions.

Spouse and I celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary tomorrow, and we still remember that day quite well.  Several wedding pictures adorn a wall in our bedroom.   Aiming for at least 60, Lord willing.

Never got lower than 85 overnight, now 88 with 81% humidity.

I just took the puppy, Sarah, out for a walk around the block; just about a mile.  She is a little hesitant in the beginning and needs encouragement and praise, which she gets.  When she figures that we are on the way back she walks out in front at the end of the leash.  She’s learning. Actually, I’m multi-tasking; Honeyshine… Read more »

I’m guessing that’s crushed garlic, black pepper and dill? Dill?!? S&P, garlic (a lot), rosemary, & thyme.  I used olive oil on the small one and butter on the big one to help it stick. Ate it just like that. There’s a couple steaks left over that’ll get warmed up a little, maybe in my sous vide, then sear in… Read more »

Go to Daily Wire and read Luke Rosiak’s latest on Texas Children’s Hospital and that lunatic Dr. Hotez.

I got my fill of Hotez on local Houston news when I was staying with Shannon last summer.  What an arrogant, self-absorbed jackass !
