Tedtam – congratulations… We went straight from church to Walmart, and I was so wrapped up in getting something in my stomach to look over here – and I guess I wasn’t awake enough when I read your initial post to react. Any guesses whether you’ll be getting a blue grand or another pinkie??? <VBG>

I read your comment this morning about a new grandchild on the way, but my lack of a comment doesn’t necessarily mean that I didn’t get the news.
I guess I’ll repeat myself: LD is expecting in December. Sunshine and L’il Darlin’ are excited. They’ve nicknamed the tyke “Gummy Bear,” since that was about its size when the girls were told.
Our AC and heat filters are an odd size that is hard to find unless ordered online from a company that makes plenty of sizes. The architect who designed our current house made a few changes in the fairly standard plan of our first house in Houston to enable some changes we wanted. The air ducts to the attic for… Read more »

I have Summer Checkup on the 2 AC’s at Chez Harp coming up on Tuesday. So today I was planning to put in the 7 AC filters that are scattered around both upstairs and downstairs. Went to the appropriate closet to fetch out the sizes needed, and it was an unpleasant surprise that I was completely out of all but… Read more »
Lost power here about 3 hours ago, big surprise since we have a big electric power substation a couple of miles away. The recorded phone call from Reliant explained this was to allow some work on the substation to enhance its ability to manage power usage in its area during the summer months. The outage estimate for return to service… Read more »
In case you were wondering, the USS Chung-Hoon was named after this man, Rear Admiral Gordon Chung-Hoon. He was the first man of Asian descent to become a flag officer in the U.S. Navy. From May 1944 to October 1945 Chung-Hoon commanded the destroyer USS Sigsbee. In the spring of 1945, Sigsbee assisted in the destruction of 20 enemy planes while… Read more »
Watch this video of a Chicom Navy ship nearly collide with a US Navy destroyer accompanied by the Canadian Navy. Belligerent jackasses. 150 yards is nothing on the open sea when you’re dealing with vessels this size. Canadian news outlet Global News reported that its news crew witnessed the Chinese action first hand—they were on board one of Canada’s frigates,… Read more »

Morni — WOOPS! Good afternoon, compatriots. I spent an hour on today’s sudoku before discovering there was an error somewhere. Debated briefly whether to print a fresh copy, or use the big eraser. Felt like the eraser had a better sense of atonement, so after I started over, it only took 40 minutes. I love how all the cats except… Read more »
Spouse is busy working on a big ham radio contest this weekend. It is just about worldwide, and the object is to briefly contact as many other hams as possible. It was hard to get a straight story about the children’s chorale group singing in the US Capitol and the interference by Capitol Police. Children’s choir forced to stop singing the National Anthem, in the halls of Congress, because it might offend someone. To merely state that this $#!t has gotten out of hand is absurd. We got a pretty good rain last night here in Glorious Copperfield. No rain gauge but everything is wet, some downed tree limbs, no damage. Sarah, our adopted mongrel, is very sweet and high energy. Mornin’ Gang from the Florida Emerald Coast. Last night’s sunset wasn’t anything to write home about but it was OK. To make up for it I woke up to a big ole moon sitting over the gulf. Not the best picture since I was using my cheap “Throw Down” camera, didn’t do it justice. 😉
Spouse has something running in the back yard that seems to be right below our bedroom window. He says not to worry about it whatever it is. So I’m not, because with my hearing aids out for the night I can’t hear it. Good Night All. Wet weather appears to be with us sometime tomorrow afternoon according to the 10pm… Read more »
It’s getting rarer that I leave church feeling satisfied that the country gospel group that I am a part of has really nailed our songs well. Tonight was one of those.
It’s also Trinity Sunday weekend, which is a special one for me. (Thinking of you Texmo.)
So it’s just the ladies this afternoon, well except for a couple of Dr phil Good Drive-By’s. Me? I’m at the most beautiful beach in the country. Can you smell the salty gulf air? It hit me as soon as I got out of the truck. Yup Life is Good. 😉
Edited; since Dr phil Good posted several more times.

Say, where is everyone? Am I the ONLY ONE at home, mopping floors, sweeping up puffs of cat fur, etc.. ? I’ll admit I should have started weeks ago to get a great result, but I didn’t.
I’m in the land of hugs and giggles, watching my granddaughters at their dance recitals. The usual stuff that is so cute happens of course. Morning, y’all. I was expecting rain today, but the % probability seems to have dropped off again, like it did yesterday. Well, I had already planned to be indoors cleaning house this weekend.
A must read story. Biden refuses to permit pipelines in the US to move oil and gas, but find it perfectly acceptable to force landowners to submit to allowing “carbon capture” pipelines through their property. Just kidding, congrats on the new grandchild. Sadly, no more for us looks like. Oldest is done w/2, youngest at 32 not interested.
