Morning gang. Up early again to travel to Marble Falls for annual review by a slew of doctors, as well as to get final clearances for surgery next Tuesday. I’m planning on the surgery just being a blip on the radar screen, but then I discover that anytime they open the abdomen it’s more than just a scratch. So that means I’d better get my yard mowed and my worms tended before hand because I’ll be slowed down for a few months afterwards. Plan to make a Walmart stop on this trip also, so it will be a full day before it’s over. Also plan on making up a big old batch of my world famous cabbage soup to tide me over during my convalesce also. You all have a great day now.

Be careful out there El Gordo.

President Joe Biden’s 2024 budget proposal would deal a massive blow to the already strained American Navy—the White House wants to prematurely retire eight ships and two combat vessels. By taking these ships out of action, the Navy would lose more than 600 vertical launch missile systems—a missile capability that serves as the primary deterrent to Chinese military attacks in the Pacific, according to congressional research provided to the Washington Free Beacon.
and
Biden’s budget would decrease the total number of active Navy ships, retiring at least 11 ships while only requesting the construction of nine new vessels. The Navy currently has 294 battle force ships, far short of the 355 it is required to have by law. Biden’s budget would further reduce this number, according to information about the White House’s 2023 budget proposal codified by Wicker’s office.
China, meanwhile, expects to field more than 400 ships by 2025 amid a rapid growth plan that will modernize its fleet with aircraft carriers, guided missile destroyers, and surface combat vessels, according to American defense officials. China’s current fleet stands at around 340 ships.
I’m just praying the Chinese stayed distracted for the next two years with their own serious domestic problems and avoid being too aggressive until America can get these fools out of office.

Don’t count yer chickens. I seem to remember that Obama served two terms. Of course if the office had been held by ANY white man, he’d have been a one termer.

If you didn’t watch Jesse Watters last night, you missed a humdinger. They covered this new “Restrict Act” co-sponsored by Senator John Thune-R, South Dakota. It is a horrible bill being promoted as anti-TikTok.
Go here and watch the segment with Lindsey Graham who looks like a deer caught in the headlights. Amazingly, Watters made him look like a complete fool.
Start at 11:17 to about 39:17.

RE: My comment @ 9:18 AM
This is Reason.com being quoted at Zero Hedge with plenty more info there
The language describing who the RESTRICT ACT applies to is confusing at best. The commerce secretary would be authorized to take steps to address risks posed by “any covered transaction by any person,” right? So what counts as a covered transaction? The bill states that this means “a transaction in which an entity described in subparagraph (B) has any interest.” Entities described in subparagraph B are a “foreign adversary; an entity subject to the jurisdiction of, or organized under the laws of, a foreign adversary; and an entity owned, directed, or controlled by” either of these. Foreign adversaries can be “any foreign government or regime” that the secretary deems a national security threat.
It’s a bit gobbledygooked, but this could be read to imply that “any person” using a VPN to access an app controlled by a “foreign adversary” or its alleged minions is subject to the secretary’s ire. Hence anyone using a VPN to access TikTok would be in trouble—specifically, subject to up to $1 million in fines, 20 years in prison, or both.

This was entirely predictable.
LGBTQ activists fighting tooth and nail to keep transgender shooters’ manifesto BURIED…
However, according to disgraced AG Merrick Garland, supposedly nobody knows Audrey’s motive
Unfortunately for Merrick, nobody believes that hogwash. We all know the killer wrote a manifesto.
It’s categorically laughable to suggest officials aren’t fully aware of the motive of the shooter.
However, the public may never know what really happened… LGBTQ activists are fighting tooth and nail to keep the manifesto buried and as of now, the Nashville police are refusing to release it.

Morning, gang. Chilly outside in H-town.

I’m just praying the Chinese stayed distracted for the next two years with their own serious domestic problems and avoid being too aggressive until America can get these fools out of office.
The Chinese may need a distraction in the not very distant future. Their population is very heavily skewed male and somewhat elderly. This leaves a bunch of dudes with no wimmins who also have to support all the old people.

This is a wild story from Houston.
A Harris County couple said phone scammers cloned their son’s voice and convinced them to hand over $5,000 in cash. They even came to pick it up in person.
and
The couple asked KHOU 11 News to not use their last names in order to conceal their identity.
Fred said the person told him and his wife that they had been in an accident and hurt another person.
“I could have sworn I was talking to my son. We had a conversation,” Kathy said.
Authorities said they think the scammers used artificial intelligence to clone their son’s voice.
I’m really worried about this AI being unleashed in the world.

Texpat @ 9:18 AM I saw that and it was priceless he crawfished and said something about John Thune’s bill and he’s for that BUT Jesse was reading from that very bill. It sure was nice to see little Linda knocked off her high chair.
FWI; I don’t have time to view the clip but if you didn’t see the contents of the bill you NEED TO! I guess somebody could find the whole thing and link because it’s mostly unconstitutional. Also Jesse talked about this in length on an earlier show but I don’t remember if it was Monday or Tuesday.

This leaves a bunch of dudes with no wimmins who also have to support all the old people.
I read an article years ago about the effects of their “one child policy”. Since women are expected to care for the husband’s family, having a daughter who would abandon you in your old age was not desirable, so a lot of girl babies were aborted or killed, sometimes by leaving them out in the elements to become victim to the weather or predators.
That means, as you said, a population heavily skewed towards male children. The result of that was an increase in kidnapping of young girls, sometimes babies, who would be raised alongside the son and expected to be his wife when he was of age. Mothers of daughters had to keep a very close eye on their girls so they wouldn’t suddenly disappear.

A little late getting going this morning, I guess I needed the sleep. My numbers this morning are an improvement over my past numbers, so I’m doing something right. Got my coffee and prayers in, made a tour of my garden. Fortunately, the varmints haven’t mayhem_ed my dirt. Yet. I have 3 more tomatoes in the small 6 spot holders, and I think the extent of my gardening will be to put them into larger pots until I’m ready to tote them.
Hubby was doing a small plumbing job for an old customer of ours, and she was saying something about how they’re getting older and her husband’s not able to garden anymore. Hubby told them about my back and she said something about I couldn’t garden any more, either. Hubby explained what I was doing with the chairs and such, and she got so excited that she called her husband in and made Hubby explain it again. I sent the YouTube channel info with him this morning, so they can get the information they need. If they elevate the garden, he can grow food and flowers once more.
But, off to C&C to see what’s going on today…

SLAPSHOT ☙ Thursday, March 29, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS
Roundup:
Good morning, C&C! It’s an early one today since I have court this morning. Your roundup includes: the National Hockey League’s immune system begins quietly rejecting “Pride” month; unattractive cross-dresser sued for wrangling his way into sorority; Supreme Court gets some clarity on its relationship with Biden’s DOJ; Russian oil sales to EU slowed to a trickle; high-profile open letter calls for halt to AI development; myocarditis study shifts the argument over covid versus jabs; Kentucky lawmakers push through anti-trans bill over governor’s veto; and Dr. Drew eloquently describes official lying.News:
First up (and I heard this discussed yesterday on Clay & Buck): NHL is dropping their “pride” events, since some of the players had the cojones to say no to the colored jerseys. It’s causing friction, so hey! let’s just focus on playing the game!
No duh. I hope more teams and businesses go back to doing what they are supposed to do and stop trying to be the woke of the day entity. As Laura Ingraham says, “Shut up and sing.”
And I’ve thought about this, too, this though that Childers added in his column:
Beyond the obvious Biblical prohibitions on inter-gender sexual relations, Christians have a bigger problem with the whole concept of “Pride,” since pride is the original sin that kicked it all off, the pride of the Great Adversary Satan, who believed that he was just as good as God. “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High,” Satan reportedly bragged (Isaiah 14:14), right before telling gullible Eve all about the beneficial effects of fruit consumption for the whole family.
So “pride” is not too good for Christian believers.

Well, this would make me uncomfortable for my daughter:
In another story you won’t read in the corporate media, Cowboy State Daily ran a salacious story yesterday headlined “Women Sue University Of Wyoming Sorority For Accepting Transgender Member.” It’s on!
/snip
At some point soon, a court somewhere will be forced to figure out exactly what a woman is. I would opine that the inevitable case will make a mockery of thousands of years of evolving jurisprudence, but let’s wait and see. Maybe a court will surprise us.
Maybe it will be this case.
Artemis Langford, 6’2”, 260 lbs, a/k/a “Terry Smith,” currently lives outside of the sorority house …but has permission to move into the sorority in the fall. Langford often hangs around the sorority house for meals and other “secret” sorority rituals and events. The gals alleged in their complaint that Langford frequently sits in the second-floor common area, silently watching the women.
Wait until he gets to use the showers! And the unsecured changing area!
The gals’ complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for Wyoming, argued “An adult human male does not become a woman just because he tells others that he has a female ‘gender identity’ and behaves in what he believes to be a stereotypically female manner.”
Ouch! The complaint got even more real:
The Fraternity Council has betrayed the central purpose and mission of Kappa Kappa Gamma by conflating the experience of being a woman with the experience of men engaging in behavior generally associated with women.
So. That’s the question, isn’t it? Are trans-women “real women,” as hair-sniffing Joe Biden 100% believes, or are trans-women just simulated women, with some men simulating women better than others?
/snip
The complaint alleged that Langford is “sexually interested in women,” and has a profile on Tinder “through which he seeks to meet women.” It also said “Mr. Smith has, while watching members enter the sorority house, had an erection visible through his leggings,” the suit says. “Other times, he has had a pillow in his lap.”
There are more descriptions of his gross, predatory behavior with the sorority. Childers has some concerns about the case – as to whether it actually addresses the main issue.
… It will also be interesting to see who pops up to defend Langford, and who pays those lawyers.
Yes, yes it will.

Haven’t had to deal with my intestinal problems for very many years but they’ve Claire’s up so gotta start from scratch finding a new gas doc, in my area, taking my insurance, and preferably sooner than 6 weeks away. You can get recommendations, read reviews but ultimately you throw a dart at the board and pick who can take you in a reasonable amount of time.
*No scary issues, just got to get it taken care of.

Then, on to our beloved DOJ leader’s antics:
Deputy U.S. marshals assigned to guard Supreme Court justices last year — supervised by Biden’s DOJ — were instructed to try NOT to arrest anyone, according to documents revealed in a Congressional hearing Tuesday by Senator Katie Britt (R-Al.). The documents flatly contradict Attorney General Merrick Garland‘s previous explicit assurances to Congress that “threats against Supreme Court justices are taken extraordinarily seriously.”
Which is a nice way to say our top law enforcement official, Grandma Garland, lied to Congress, earning four Pinnochio’s.
/snip
…They clearly violated Section 1507 of the US Code which in no uncertain terms criminalizes protesting against a judge’s home while intending to influence a ruling.
Which is exactly what the protesters were doing. But unlike Congressional tourists on January 6th, the DOJ hasn’t prosecuted anybody.
But I thought words were violence!? So wasn’t this violence against our justices, as well as an attempt to sway the court? OH, I forgot who I was talking about…
I hope the Supreme Court is getting the message about their real relationship with Biden’s DOJ. They might want to carefully consider that, as they hear other cases related to federal agency authority.
-
And on the Artificial Intelligence front:
Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal ran a sobering story headlined, “Elon Musk, Other AI Experts Call for Pause in Technology’s Development.”
Elon Musk and some less-well-known tech leaders signed an open letter calling for all AI development to be immediately paused.
/snip
“We’ve reached the point where these systems are smart enough that they can be used in ways that are dangerous for society,” AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio, director of the University of Montreal’s AI Institute, said in an interview. “And we don’t yet understand.”
You don’t say. I mean, we rushed a genetics altering vaccine out into the public and that turned out just fine, right? What could be the problem with generating an AI that could tap into our totally wired society?
My mind keeps going back to the movie “The Matrix”.
In the clip linked above, Brian Kilmeade said that AI experts predict the technology will be more profoundly disruptive than the internet and handheld computers like the iPhone. I think that’s probably right.
I am as suspicious of AI tech as anybody. But it is coming, whether we like it or not. And having studied the history of science (my minor), I see loose parallels to similar worries about industrialization technology in the 1800’s, which were also widely predicted to destroy civilization and put half the workforce on government charity.
/snip
Ultimately, it’s a VERY good thing that AI is getting all this attention. It should. Next, we should take just as hard a look at the explosion of genetic experimentation.

Let’s see if the myocarditis as a result of WLR can be settled:
But the researchers of this study conducted a systematic review of 50 autopsy studies and dissected 548 hearts of patients who died of or with covid. They frequently found tissue edema and necrosis, and roughly two thirds of autopsied hearts had detectable covid virus in the cardiac tissue.
But NONE of the hearts had extensive myocarditis as the cause of death. Zero.
This meta-review should end the debate over whether covid can cause fatal myocarditis. Despite finding the virus in heart tissue, the researchers did NOT find it was causing any significant inflammation.
The only new proven cause of heart damage is covid vaccination. So.

And in Kentucky, the legislature overrode a veto on their transgender bill. Parents wanting trans trophy kids will have to work harder to achieve their goal:
The new law:
— Bans all treatment of gender dysphoria in kids.
— Compels teachers to tell parents if a student says they’re gay/trans.
— Requires students to use bathrooms consistent with their birth sex.
Progress!

This is merely one alarming clause of this “Restrict Act” being submitted to Congress. It exempts everything handled and covered under this law from the Freedom of Information Act. If that doesn’t creep you out, I don’t what will.
Lincoln Brown at PJ Media has more.
(1) IN GENERAL.—No provision of this Act shall be construed to create a right to obtain access to information in the possession of the Federal Government that was considered in making a determination under this Act that a transaction is a covered transaction or interest or to prohibit, mitigate, or take action against a covered transaction or interest, including any classified national security information or sensitive but unclassified information.
(2) INAPPLICABILITY OF FOIA.—Any information submitted to the Federal Government by a party to a covered transaction in accordance with this Act, as well as any information the Federal Government may create relating to review of the covered transaction, is exempt from disclosure under section 552 of title 5, United States Code (commonly referred to as the “Freedom of Information Act”).

This and especially the backing down of the NHL from the player protests are the beginnings of what I think will be a huge backlash over all the LGBQTAIRSMTA hysteria going on these days.
I watched an interview with Riley Gaines, the swimmer that tied Will Thomas, the tyranny at Penn, in the NCAA championship meet and had to give him the prop trophy for the photos. She said that the swimmers, coaches, trainers and other involved in the meet were not warned that Will Thomas would be using the same locker room and the locker room was designated as “all sexes”. At the time, he was “physically intact”.
They played interview clips of his; he attributed his winning so much in the female meets to being “happy and at peace finally” and having nothing whatsoever to do with his having gone through puberty as a male.
At the end she talked about how to change the tide. She said that the female pro surfer Brittany(?) (the one who lost her left arm in a shark attack several years ago) said that she would refuse to compete in any competition against a biological male and made the point that that is the stand that will start causing the tranny nonsense to slow, stop, and reverse.
I consider myself someone who is pretty far into the libertarian zone politically (leaning a bit conservative). Most Americans have a libertarian streak in them as well. The vast majority of this country is live and let live as long as nobody else is harmed. I really do not give one tiny iota of care if a dude wants to pretend he’s a wimmin because it’s become some trend among the hip crowd as long as nobody else is harmed. When you start harming their kids to appease some small group or individual simply to signal some sort of artificial virtue, they will start pushing back harder and harder.

Here we go again.
Texas State Senate:
“Delusion is simply a false belief about an external reality that, despite evidence to the contrary, they still hold. Here, delusion has been given a polite term: gender dysphoria,” said Campbell.
The chamber gave initial approval to the bill on a party-line vote of 19-12 on Wednesday, the same day they also passed a bill to prevent biological men from competing in women’s collegiate sports.
The gender mutilation bill will receive one more vote on Thursday before being sent to the House, where similar efforts were killed in 2021.

He should never have been put in prison. Heads should roll.
The lawyer representing the QAnon Shaman has stated that his client has been released from prison early, and it set to enter a halfway house.
/snip
However, it has not yet been made clear why Chansley was released from prison early. Watkins declined to comment on the matter, saying: “This was a decision of the US Bureau of Prisons. I cannot speak for the US Bureau of Prisons.”
Yeah, we know why. Video footage embarrassed the heck outta some higher ups.
And to maybe reduce the amount requested in the upcoming lawsuit.

Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi:
“What we saw is how much leadership matters. And the Senate’s under the leadership of Dan Patrick, since he took over, has been a body that has not let Democrats run the show,”
and,
Rinaldi then contrasted that dynamic with Speaker Dade Phelan and the Texas House, saying the other chamber has a “completely difference culture.”
“The House has a completely different culture, as you could see. And it’s a very adversarial relationship with the party and the grassroots. It’s like you get the sense that they don’t like their own voters.”
“There’s this animosity towards Republican voters that’s almost palpable in the House,” he added.
The Republican/Democrat count in the Texas House is 86-64, although, often you wouldn’t know it.

The FBI has their grimey hands on the manifesto. No doubt running it by their Trans Division in order to clean it up and redact accordingly. Leaving the terrorist bitch in the best light.

I’m confused about the Nashville thing. Was the assailant a dude who thought he was a wimmin or a wimmin thinking she’s a dude?
-
wimmin->dude
That means there was extra testosterone floating around in her body that her female brain wasn’t used to. If she was on hormones.
Even if not, she was an awfully confused individual already being treated for mental health issues. Probably on drugs for that, too. We’ve all heard about the warnings that go with those drugs.

Brazil, Russia, Iran, Indonesia, and China are plotting to take over the US world dominance. Mexico sees this, South Africa see this, the Saudis see this. These side show distractions are just that – a side show. We know they own the President and the President owns the Dems. Some day we may return to relevance. I just don’t understand the unwillingness to deal with the real problems and let the insanity just bounce away.
-
Does anyone believe that these shootings are just isolated incidents by disgruntled or insane people? Of course not. Dems have no problem shooting a few kids to promote their Chinese backed gun control efforts. Uvalde was the perfect set up – they were all in on it. It should be obvious to anyone that actually looks at what happened rather than just wailing about the poor children. They are working on a major airline disaster as we speak, but the pilots are generally not willing to sacrifice themselves just yet – but they will find one who will before it’s over.

Shannon beat me to it. (Gosh Darn Hal Jr. Sign In 🙂 )
CNN —
A grand jury in Manhattan has voted to indict Donald Trump – the first time in American history that a current or former president has faced criminal charges, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office has been investigating the former president in connection with his alleged role in a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels that dates to the 2016 presidential election.
This story is breaking and will be updated.

“The Sergeant of Arms requested that KSP assist in restoring order today in the House gallery chambers. KSP gave each individual the option to leave without any enforcement action or be placed under arrest,” Blanton said. “KSP arrested 19 individuals. I guess arresting everyone present and keeping them in solidary confinement is only for MAGA protestors.

A rather shocking experience I had as a young welder/fitter on the Houston Ship Channel almost 50 years ago was being assigned to oversee the inspection and minor repair of a large barge at the Channel Shipyards.
I was told the barge was loaded and that was obvious from its setting (draft) in the water. I was also informed it was under the jurisdiction of the federal government via several agencies.
The whole barge was loaded with alcohol – bulk whiskey – and it was headed for the Mississippi River to some bottler. Egads.
Once the external repair was completed, I had to go across this huge barge and remove every nut on every bolt of every Butterworth plate & flange and replace them. Then I was required to hand drill a diagonal hole through each 1-1/2″ nut, thread a stainless steel wire through the hole and then clamp a special seal on the two ends of the SS wire. There were about 18 of these flanges, about 24 bolts, and this took at least 8 hours on the hot steel deck of a barge.
This was a rank, rusty old barge.
I did not drink whiskey or bourbon for years after that experience.
