Sir Winston Churchill, 1874 – 1965
“Politics is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.”
and,
“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
and finally,
“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
Yea for the Coogs winning tonight.
#51 El Gordo, Yea, here’s a vote for your opinion about candidates. One must think about who can do the best job for our nation and review what Trump accomplished. Scared the livers out of those bastards who would harm us, and it only took on demonstration of what he did and would do again. Recall that if you regard… Read more »
Getting about bedtime out here again. The cold front has moved through with some strong northerly winds, but the rain was all north of us. This one’s for you Hammie.
I may be watching the worst movie that I’ve ever seen.
Here’s a taste.
I wonder how Trump would do as head of the RNC.
Agreed. At the risk of being canceled as a Never-Trumper, it really ticks me off he’s playing it this way. Did Cruz the same way, dirty.
DeSantis is attractive to me because he can speak in entire paragraphs (even two or three) about issues that are important to me.
He does better than Trump, up against the media retards. Never let’s them distract him from the subject at hand.
46 Shannon As they say, personnel is policy. But – outside of family members – how many truly loyal, competent, non-Lizard Executive Branch appointments was he able to make last time? Donald Trump stepped into a world utterly foreign to him and blew it time and again listening to the fools gathered around him about who he should appoint to… Read more »
Why should I believe that Trump can tame the Swamp?
He had some amazing accomplishments as President.
But – outside of family members – how many truly loyal, competent, non-Lizard Executive Branch appointments was he able to make last time?
Ten? Twenty? Less than ten? Out of hundreds?
It’s 33° in Amarillo, people.
He’d be so much better if he could control those behaviors. This is not uncontrolled behavior. He sees it as a previously successful strategy that destroyed 15 or 16 primary opponents last time around. I think it makes a lot of voters detest him. And can make it difficult to find needed allies following a successful election. Not everyone is… Read more »
Our good friend blancolirio has his perspective and detail analysis on the drone that was struck by the Russian pilot with some insight that none of us are probably aware of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVzLV-R_-kk Pretty short as well.
#41 TT: NOw Trump is just a lightning rod that the incompetent electrician hooked up to the main breaker box. Desantis has been playing this whole thing correctly, at this point I think he is the better choice for the country.
#33 Bonecrusher
I agree. Trump without the childish ego would be so much better. The way he lashes out, calls name, fabricates stories (was it Cruz’s father who was supposed to an assassin or something like that?)…
He’d be so much better if he could control those behaviors. He’d be unstoppable.
State Farm has had a very creative ad agency for several years, now.
Mharper I recently renewed my registration online, too, even though doing so in person in Bellville is a breeze. I wasn’t particularly pleased when the same letter indicated that should the Postal Service lose my sticker, I would have… Read more »
From Shannon’s #37 Bailouts are very easy to start. And very hard to stop. Especially when sophisticated people have figured out how to make money from them. What happens next? I had my 2011 Corolla inspected yesterday, and just now registered and paid on-line. WHile I applauded Trump’s attacks on the leftoids, his attack on a fellow constitutional patriot, DeSantis, is disturbing, petty, and destructive. #29 – Unfortunately neither the professor nor the author know what they are talking about when it comes to banking matters. I don’t think we knew about Millie, sorry to hear that.
