I may as well just get up. Dawg got me up at 2:30 and I never got back to sleep. Brrr a cold 38 here on the farm but it’ll warm up to the high 50’s by midday, it could be worse.
Oh and thoughts and prayers to Tedtam I hope the surgery goes well. BTW; Katfish, if you’re lurking what’s the status on TexMo?

It’s 41° here and pouring down rain in Baghdad on the Hudson and is 31° in Bellville, TexasHow about that ?

Oops! Wunderground had the wrong info. The correct data is 41 in Bellville also.

Financial commentator on WABC this morning:

We went from George to George, Washington to Bush over 200 years, and accumulated 7 trillion dollars worth of debt.  From Obama to Trump through two years of Biden and we have added 24 trillion dollars worth of debt in only 13 years for a total of 31 trillion dollars.

    It is insane.

My little garden got neglected badly with the drought and I was down much of the summer never produced any tomatoes, or at least the ones that it did gotten eaten on, but the plants survived and started putting some out with the cooler weather. I finally got one singular beatific, perfectly shaped and sized yesterday, sliced open it open and put in a salad and it was deliciousness had by all. Got several small one’s trying but afraid it’s too late for them.

This is an extremely important case at SCOTUS and it’s pretty much under everybody’s radar.

Why Moore v. Harper Terrifies Democrats

The U.S. Supreme Court finally heard oral arguments in Moore v. Harper last week. The case involves a mundane constitutional issue concerning the definition of “legislature” as used in the elections clause. Yet it has produced panic among Democrats and a torrent of portentous predictions about the death of democracy from various leftist law professors. In the Washington Post, for example, Harvard University’s Noah Feldman expressed alarm that the court took up the “insane” case at all.

Note:  When Noah Feldman expresses alarm, it almost always means something good is happening for conservatism.

The final ruling will probably be handed down next June, and the Democrats will not rest easy until it drops. They know that, if the North Carolina General Assembly prevails in Moore v. Harper, a crucial component of their overall 2024 strategy will be moribund. It will become far more difficult for pettifoggers like Elias to convince state courts to alter election laws passed by state legislatures. This is why the Democrats freaked out when SCOTUS took up the case. They are clearly terrified that they cannot win an honest election.

    JOKE OF THE DAY:

A man went to his lawyer and said “I would like to make a will but I don’t know exactly how to go about it.”

The lawyer says “No problem, leave it all to me”.

The man looks somewhat upset … “Well I knew you were going to take the biggest slice, but I’d like to leave a little to my children too!

Looked at maybe getting my son a new drivers suit for Christmas. Anywhere from $399 to $799 so I guess not. Can’t go cheap on a racing suit, has to have the best fire protection possible yet be cool in the hot summer, that means expensive materials. He has a good one but it’s plain old tan, no cool colors and stripes. Guess the prices are why, hard to believe he would go on the cheap on anything but bank accounts have limits lol.

Morning gang.  Back from coffee at the TOK.  Trying to get all my prescriptions refilled before the end of the year to put off that new deductible after the first.  Hope Tedtam’s surgery goes well.  Did not get below freezing this morning, but it got close.  Topping out around 50 today, and I think we are in for a cold stretch through the end of the year.  Think I’ll go ahead and gas up everything and have a little on hand just in case ERCOT decides to go on vacation or something when they are most needed.  Got plenty of food supplies for a few days, propane is ready to go, and I’m ready to hole up or hunker down or whatever I’m told to do.  My battery packs are all charged up, so I think I’m ready.

You all have a great day now.

Well, we’re off to Columbia to pick up the 4 dinning chairs that the guy Re-Caned, $90 Bucks a piece $360 TT&L Cash, can’t beat that. After we pick them up we’re heading over to Blakeley Georgia to a great Hole-In-The-Wall place to eat, nothing but homegrown southern grub. Then we’ll probable come back though Fort Gaines and Abbeville, down 27 to Podunk. Later,……

The cold 43 this morning at 7 made it up to 63 in bright sunshine at 10.  Cold weather through Christmas is assured, and maybe longer than that sayeth the weather guessers.  An unseen hand flipped the switch last night.  But we will not see any snow, just frost, as we slide into the upper 20s.  Outdoor plant covering time means taking stock of enough old sheets to cover those that need it.  And perhaps we shall need to shut off the water to the house or at least have it dripping in the kitchen sink and a bathroom sink at the other end of the house.

My house decorating is finished except for placing a few things this morning.  Happy to have that done so I can get the desktop organized at last and finish making end year-end donations.

Thinking of Tedtam this morning and hoping all is going well.  It will be so nice if she can come home tomorrow afternoon to begin convalescing. Home is much better than hospital for recovery.

For the third time this morning, when I open the Bellville, Texas page on Weather Underground, it connects to a Bellevue, Texas station outside Bowie near the Oklahoma border.  I have to re-enter the zip code in the search box to get the correct stations and data.

I didn’t catch this the other morning when I said here it was going to be 21°F in Bellville on the Christmas weekend.  Not true.  After roaming around WU, an IBM owned company, I finally found an “Email us” link in tiny type.

Well, I got the 2013 Corolla to the shop for oil change and conventional checkup, then state inspection. I actually did the following this morning:

    a. Got up when the alarm went off at 9 a.m.

    b. Fed the cats then went out without my own breakfast.

The cats are still milling around wondering if they can get more chow since I got my ride back to Chez Harp. The shop boy/driver told me he does not speak English, so I had to direct him by pointing to lanes and turns. As I got out at my house, I told him Gracias.

Unless I miss my guess it appears that the absolute end of an era is about to occur.  I swung by HAMOUS.ORG and found this.

    Be back soon!

    This website is under maintenance.
    Check back tomorrow!

    Be back soon photo

So I have been watching for a week and the message has been constant.  Bluehost will usually “maintenance” a site for a couple weeks that is delinquent in renewals giving the owner a chance to make payments.  There is another possible explanation for the sign, a hacker got in and messed up the site.  I doubt that is it.  I am thinking Hammie’s BH bill has come due and the credit card that auto-renewed before has long been canceled.  At any rate it will not be long before the site is shut down. Sad Really.

I despise this sleazy creep impersonating a journalist for a living.  It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

NBC News temporarily suspended senior reporter Ben Collins for his “editorially inappropriate” coverage of Twitter CEO Elon Musk, according to the new publication Semafor.

Collins is temporarily prohibited from going on the airwaves of NBC News and MSNBC for his outward dissaproval of Musk and the tech magnate’s actions, Semafor reported, citing anonymous sources. Collins covers disinformation, extremism and the internet for NBC News.

    plus,

Collins’ suspension is due to the reporter’s coverage of Musk earlier in December, according to Semafor.

“Imagine throwing it all away to do PR work for the richest person in the world,” NBC reporter Ben Collins tweeted. “Humiliating sh*t. Speak* truth** to*** power.”

Any so-called reporter or journalist whose title or job description includes either misinformation or disinformation is a phony punk peddling censorship and character assassination.

I do hope Tedtam follows doctor’s orders in recuperation.  It’s very easy to screw up a back operation and they take a while to heal properly.  It’s going to be hard for someone as active as she is.

  36. Texpat Avatar
    Texpat

The mainstream media are lying in all caps-bold face about the journos suspended from Twitter.  I read there was some kind of Twitter Chat (private chatroom for account-holders) consisting of a bunch national media types who hyping and linking to the guy who was posting Musk’s private jet in real time.  Some Antifa thug threatened the driver of a car in LA carrying his son.  Musk barged into the chatroom and left while immediately suspending every one in that chat who was putting his and his family’s lives in danger.

The accounts of Drew Harwell of The Washington Post and Ryan Mac of The New York Times, among others, were suspended Thursday night, with Musk alleging they doxxed him. The move came after Musk suspended an account that was tracking the location of his private jet. Musk claimed the users had doxxed his exact location in real-time.

“Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not,” Musk tweeted.

“They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service,” he wrote.

Musk alleged earlier in the week that a “crazy stalker ” followed a car carrying his son and “later blocked car from moving & climbed onto hood.”

Well, I did get the spare car serviced today, and my nearby garage was very helpful when they saw me arrive using my cane. After I dropped the car off, they of course gave me a ride home. I had gotten up early to get the car in by 10 a.m., so I had a wonderful multi-hour nap after they brought me home. When they called around 5 to say it was ready, I was told they were sending 2 shop boys, one to drive my car home and the other to take him back to the shop. The phone gal said this was so I wouldn’t have to get out in the cold rain to drive anyone back to the shop, but I’m pretty sure it had more to do with seeing me walk with the cane when I was there this morning.

This is a very disturbing story and it’s hard to figure out what is going on here, but the fact there was some boy pretending to be a girl who entered a girls’ restroom and then beat two girl students nearly unconscious…well, there’s not much else needed to make a decision.

A male student who identifies as a girl walked into an Oklahoma high school girls’ bathroom and beat two girls nearly unconscious, according to a police report from October. No one in the community found out about it until this week.

You can thank Oklahoma City’s local media for that. Wendy Suares at KOKH FOX 25, was a loud voice in support of Oklahoma University’s gender clinic that was referring minors for mastectomies. She erroneously reported that the Roy G. Biv Center received “threats” after our coverage revealed they were offering puberty blockers and surgeries to gender-confused children and, as a result, the university was threatened with having their funding removed by the Oklahoma legislature. The clinic denied to PJ Media knowing anything about any threats or increased security that Suares reported, and OU Health refused to comment on it.

Well, I’m recovering in my hospital room and dictating this message. So if there are typos, please forgive me.

I’m assuming the surgery went well, but since I wasn’t awake for it I can’t give you a first-hand evaluation of the work done. But this is the same doctor that operated on steve, and that went well so there’s that. The nurse is here at HCA Houston West are awesome. I had my post anesthetic gastric reaction, and the nurse managed to change my gown without me even having to do anything but lift my head one time. They’ve all been very professional, kind, and caring.

My pain is being managed, though I’m sure I’ll be living with it for a while. I have balloons on my legs that keep inflating periodically, which is interesting. I managed to request and take the blood pressure cuff off and finally they were able to do it. It’s hard to eat dinner with your arm being restricted.

I’m sure it’s the painkillers and the other medications are making me kind of groggy, so I’ll have to check out here soon. I think I’m going home tomorrow, but Steve said that the doctor told him it depends on how well my drain is running. The nurse just checked it and said it’s doing really well, so there is hope that I can be at home in my own home soon.

Please hear our prayers for healing for our friend, good Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Made it back for the medical updates, so thanks for all that news.  I watched a couple of football games this afternoon, and plan on watching more tomorrow.  I need to tap in to a couple of walls and add some sockets, so I got the parts ordered today.   I’ve never understood why they place wall sockets down next to the floor in houses, and even more particularly in houses in flood prone areas. I’m not flood prone but I’m gonna put a couple up just above head height for computer router/extender plug ins to increase the range a little bit, but high enough so as to not get knocked off by everyone who comes walking by.  I can just pigtail into existing light switches and make it work I think.

You all have a good evening now this time for sure.

Hoping for restful evening and feeling better tomorrow for Tedtam and TexMo. Condolences for texanadian, his wife and family, as they embark on a mission to say goodbye to mother-in-law. Peaceful evening for all the rest of us: those who persist in keeping Hammy’s Couch occupied.

    Good night, everyone.

There was a small hole that they sutured up.
In an hour they will take him up to his room.  Prayers for recovery”
