Yikes, so SWS powers that be have fallen prey to the siren song of the lefty bunch in the US in trying to turn everything into socialism ASAP.  Could be the French portion of the company is the most guilty in this matter since France has gotten itself messed up with socialism along with most of Europe to one degree or another.

Spouse worked at Schlumberger for 15 years before joining Halliburton for the rest of his career. He has done several consulting projects for Halliburton since he retired.

There is a get-together planned for February, for people who worked together on the real-time drilling software at the “old” SLB sites in Sugar Land and in Houston. There hasn’t been one of these since the Jabdemic messed up everything. Quite a few of us are retired now, and some will have a long drive to get there, but with this news about the new company name, I’m sure there will be a good turnout.

Texpat I agree with Bones, $27K doesn’t seem bad especially  in that part of the country. I bet you can’t anything done that doesn’t involve Union workers.

Wow

Then they can run a new permanent line properly instead of the way the home builder did it.

Was the original line under the rocks?  That’s a big job, I assume equipment can get down there?

As a retiree from Schlumberger, I get a massive letter at the end of every year (since 2013) explaining any changes. Well, this change has sort of depressed me: Schlumberger announced its new name, SLB, underscoring the company’s vision for a decarbonised energy future and affirming its transformation from the world’s largest oilfield services company to a global technology company focused on driving energy innovation for a balanced planet. The legacy Schlumberger brand and nearly all of its affiliated brands now exist under the new SLB brand, which introduces a refreshed visual identity, including a new logo for the company – a… Read more »

My internet networking project  got laid out, and all the tests I’ve run indicate that it is a success.  I get the same signal strength in the back bedroom on one satellite device as I get in the den where I relocated the main mother ship router, and also the same in the kitchen where I had another satellite device take the place of the router that I moved.  Both satellite devices can now connect with the mother ship router and are putting out a strong signal.  I haven’t checked it out outside yet to see how much coverage I… Read more »

Tater Soup it’s what’s fer supper! My wife got back from California today and her batteries are a little bit run down so I figured tater soup would be just right. As usual I cheated and took a little of the stock to make me some oyster stew. My White Sauce was just about perfect, thick and bubbly.

The whole project is going to run around $27,000.

Based on what  you just wrote and what I have spent on my two big home improvement projects (kitchen and master bath) here, $27 large doesn’t seem that bad.  It really sux that you are having to deal with it because it wasn’t done correctly the first time .

How’s the sewage line project going?

you should’ve asked that question to the Kentucky Swamp Turtle instead.

Hopefully in the next cycle, we’ll have quality candidates everywhere.

What does a Kentucky swamp turtle consider a quality candidate?
why another Kentucky Swamp Turtle of course.
Maybe he can find high caliber candidates like Fetterman and the dead guy that supposedly won in Pennsylvania or maybe he can drag another creature from the Murkowski lagoon across the finish line.

Hard to believe it’s 4:00 already.  This day has just flown by.

The chicken cacciatore is in Fred, and the shrimp dish is cooling so it can join the Fred party.

That’ll be a few meals for later on.  Just add water, heat, and eat.  Good for two weeks on the counter, a month or so in the fridge, six months in the freezer. I’ll vacuum seal the end product, so it’ll probably be good longer than that.

JOKE OF THE DAY: A couple made a deal that whoever died first would come back and inform the other of the afterlife. After many years, the husband was the first to go, and true to his word, he made contact with his wife in a dream. “Mary… Mary…” he called. “Is that you, Fred?” she asked. “Yes,” he said. “I’ve come back like we agreed.” “What’s it like?” Mary asked. “Well, I get up in the morning. I have sex. I have breakfast. I run around the golf course. I have sex. I bathe in the sun, and then… Read more »

Lawyer: “Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?”

Witness: “No.”

Lawyer: “Did you check for blood pressure?”

Witness: “No.”

Lawyer: “Did you check for breathing?”

Witness: “No.”

Lawyer: “So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?”

Witness: “No.”

Lawyer: “How can you be so sure, Doctor?”

Witness: “Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.”

Lawyer: “But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?”

Witness: “Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.”

Found this story late last night: Why Strange Clots Form After mRNA Jabs, Treatments to Consider Not “IF” strange clots form, but ‘WHY’. Thrombin is an essential protein that forms typical blood clots. Thrombin clots blood by activating platelets and chopping up a protein called fibrinogen to form fibrin, a blood clot component. However, people may not be aware that spike protein alone can form blood clots even without normal blood clot components. A study has reported the function of spike protein in forming fibrous blood clots. /snip these strange white or brownish clots are not typical blood clots. In fact,… Read more »

In the “died suddenly” news, a Canadian star suffered and recovered from a mild heart attack, only to succumb to SADS a short time later. In Mike Leach news, I noticed this statement: Reports say Leach had until December 8th, 2021, to get vaccinated or be fired. I mean, Leach had until December 8th to roll the dice with his life or be fired. So, did he get the jab on the 8th? Next up: the weird guy in the Bahamas and the FTX fraud Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) was supposed to testify before Congress via Zoom today.  I guess he was too busy avoiding the extradition order to appear in person.  Oops!  Too late!  I guess Congress will have to reschedule, now that he’s been arrested: As a lawyer, I usually presume a witness wants to use zoom instead of appearing in person so that someone off screen can coach the witness with hidden prompts. In Sam’s case, like maybe a team of lawyers. But Sam’s story was developing at the speed of… Read more »

I guess when Abbott declared an invasion it meant he was going to allow more of the invaders in.

or maybe he meant he was going to stack the matchbox cars three high instead of two.

a country without borders is not a country and instead of bold leadership we get nothing but corrupt WEF chickensh#ts.

but by gawd wait till 2024 because those goopeecons will get em then.
Meanwhile the backstabbing Texas Cornhole and co are working on a mass amnesty back room deal.

Childers reports that Fauci made a killing.  Not just people, but in filthy lucre.  The guy will retire on the corpses of people he used as guinea pigs. According to watchdog nonprofit OpenTheBooks, during the two years between 2019 and 2021, the Fauci household’s net worth increased by $5 million, and is now over $12.6 million. Most of the increase came from investment gains, gifts, awards, and Fauci’s federal employment compensation, according to public records. I agree with the following sentiment: There’s a lot I could say about this. Fauci’s money is blood-soaked, of course, and I hope he chokes… Read more »

#15 Tedtam – it’s ON my driver’s license. There is a little tiny red heart that says “donor” in white letters next to my eye color. There has been since shortly after my late husband passed while awaiting a heart transplant.  I dunno if that’s still an option when you renew or not – it seems like they change something about the license appearance every time I renew.

Next on the C&C: Loudon County School District It’s long, involved, and stomach churning.  The lies and attempted coverup of this school board who was more than willing to sacrifice a young girl to rape in order to be politically correct and protect the “transgender” boy is horrifying. Childers covers the political and legal stuff, then this: It’s baffling how much deference is being given to these so-called transgender kids, and how credulously committed the school officials are to considering these kids as being honest and legitimate. It might be that a very small number of kids actually do have… Read more »
