I came across this video last night.
And I thought I-59 during rush hour was bad!
And look at what happens around 2:10 in the video! There is NO WAY that would happen here. But somehow they make it work.
Not even Rome was this crazy.

Qaddafi offered refuge in Uganda
(AP)KAMPALA, Uganda – Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi is welcome to live in the East African nation of Uganda, the president’s spokesman told The Associated Press on Wednesday, in what appears to be the first country to offer him refuge.
The spokesman for Uganda’s president, Tamale Mirundi, told the AP that Qaddafi would be welcome in Uganda.June 26, 2011
THE HAGUE, Netherlands – The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, his son and his intelligence chief for crimes against humanity in the early days of their struggle to cling to power.
Judges announced Monday that Gadhafi is wanted for orchestrating the killing, injuring, arrest and imprisonment of hundreds of civilians during the first 12 days of an uprising to topple him from power after more than four decades, and for trying to cover up the alleged crimes.
The warrants turn Gadhafi, his son Seif al-Islam Gadhafi and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanoussi into internationally wanted suspects, potentially complicating any efforts to mediate an end to more than four months of intense fighting in the North African nation.

This is perhaps one of the most flagrant cases of pot stirring/attempting to create a story I have seen in quite some time.
The oil and gas industry did not fare well in a new study that looked at the number of women in leadership roles at some of the country’s biggest publicly traded companies.
/snip
In the oil and gas industry, women represented 9.6 percent of boards, the lowest of any sector, Bloomberg said. The classic lib-terd-nozzle knee-jerk response: if there is not equality of outcome, the system/company is engaging in discrimination.
/cusses, spits shakes head in disgust.
Then again, this article come thru the bowels of the Comical so I really did not expect much better. -

I find it telling that the first para. says leadership roles and the second para. says board.
I can state from personal experience that the majority or Project Managers in petrochem work are Process Engineers. More and more women have become Process Engineers in the last 15 years and are becoming Project Managers as quick as their male counterparts. A Project Manager in charge of a Billion dollar project certainly has a leadership role. To be on a board is a political position, always has been, always will be. If they aren’t playing the game, they won’t be appointed.
More of that comparing apples to oranges they’re so good at (they think).

Beck’s been crying too many tears:
In a lengthy interview with the former Pennsylvania senator, the two were discussing the Cut Cap Balance Pledge, a vow to oppose any debt limit increase that doesn’t cut and cap spending and balance the budget. Santorum revealed he had signed the celebrated pledge, and reached his hand out for a congratulatory shake in response to Beck’s excitement. Instead Beck responded, “I could kiss you in the mouth.”
Weird.

This just came into my inbox, it is long but VERY MUCH WORTH THE READ
You may want to get a tissue handy . . . . .just in case something flies in your eye.> There was a certain Professor of Religion named Dr. Christianson, a studious man who taught at a small college in the western United States .
>
> Dr. Christianson taught the required survey course in Christianity at this particular institution.
> Every student was required to take this course their freshman year, regardless of his or her major.
>
> Although Dr. Christianson tried hard to communicate the essence of the gospel in his class, he found that most of his students looked upon the course as nothing but required drudgery. Despite his best efforts, most students refused to take Christianity seriously.
>
> This year, Dr. Christianson had a special student named Steve. Steve was only a freshman, but was studying with the intent of going onto seminary for the ministry. Steve was popular, he was well liked, and he was an imposing physical specimen. He was now the starting center on the school football team, and was the best student in the professor’s class.
>
> One day, Dr. Christianson asked Steve to stay after class so he could talk with him.
>
> “How many push-ups can you do?”
>
> Steve said, “I do about 200 every night.”
>
> “200? That’s pretty good, Steve,” Dr. Christianson said. “Do you think you could do 300?”
>
> Steve replied, “I don’t know…. I’ve never done 300 at a time”
>
> “Do you think you could?” again asked Dr. Christianson.
>
> “Well, I can try,” said Steve.
>
> “Can you do 300 in sets of 10? I have a class project in mind and I need you to do about 300
> push-ups in sets of ten for this to work. Can you do it? I need you to
> tell me you can do it,” said the professor.
>
> Steve said, “Well… I think I can…yeah, I can do it.”
>
> Dr. Christianson said, “Good! I need you to do this on Friday.. Let me explain what I have in mind.”
>
> Friday came and Steve got to class early and sat in the front of the room. When class started, the professor pulled out a big box of donuts. No, these weren’t the normal kinds of donuts, they were the extra fancy BIG kind, with cream centers and frosting swirls. Everyone was pretty excited it was Friday, the last class of the day, and they were going to get an early start on the weekend with a party in Dr. Christianson’s class.
>
> Dr. Christianson went to the first girl in the first row and asked, “Cynthia, do you want to have one of these donuts?”
>
> Cynthia said, “Yes.”
>
> Dr. Christianson then turned to Steve and asked, “Steve, would you do ten push-ups so that Cynthia can have a donut?”
>
> “Sure!” Steve jumped down from his desk to do a quick ten. Then Steve again sat in his desk.
> Dr. Christianson put a donut on Cynthia’s desk.
>
> Dr. Christianson then went to Joe, the next person, and asked, “Joe, do you want a donut?”
>
> Joe said, “Yes.” Dr. Christianson asked, “Steve would you do ten push-ups so Joe can have a donut?”
>
> Steve did ten push-ups, Joe got a donut. And so it went, down the first aisle, Steve did ten push-ups for every person before they got their donut.
>
> Walking down the second aisle, Dr. Christianson came to Scott. Scott was on the basketball team, and in as good condition as Steve. He was very popular and never lacking for female companionship..
>
> When the professor asked, “Scott do you want a donut?”
>
> Scott’s reply was, “Well, can I do my own push-ups?”
>
> Dr. Christianson said, “No, Steve has to do them.”
>
> Then Scott said, “Well, I don’t want one then.”
>
> Dr… Christianson shrugged and then turned to Steve and asked, “Steve, would you do ten push-ups so Scott can have a donut he doesn’t want?”
>
> With perfect obedience Steve started to do ten push-ups.
>
> Scott said, “HEY! I said I didn’t want one!”
>
> Dr.. Christianson said, “Look! This is my classroom, my class, my desks, and these are my donuts.
> Just leave it on the desk if you don’t want it.” And he put a donut on Scott’s desk.
>
> Now by this time, Steve had begun to slow down a little. He just stayed on the floor between sets because it took too much effort to be getting up and down. You could start to see a little perspiration coming out around his brow.
>
> Dr. Christianson started down the third row. Now the students were beginning to get a little angry. Dr.. Christianson asked Jenny, “Jenny, do you want a donut?”
>
> Sternly, Jenny said, “No.”
>
> Then Dr. Christianson asked Steve, “Steve, would you do ten more push-ups so Jenny can have a donut that she doesn’t want?”
>
> Steve did ten….Jenny got a donut.
>
> By now, a growing sense of uneasiness filled the room. The students were beginning to say, “No!” and there were all these uneaten donuts on the desks..
>
> Steve also had to really put forth a lot of extra effort to get these push-ups done for each donut.
> There began to be a small pool of sweat on the floor beneath his face, his arms and brow were beginning to get red because of the physical effort involved.
>
> Dr. Christianson asked Robert, who was the most vocal unbeliever in the class, to watch Steve do each push up to make sure he did the full ten push-ups in a set because he couldn’t bear to watch all of Steve’s work for all of those uneaten donuts. He sent Robert over to where Steve was so Robert count the set and watch Steve closely.
>
> Dr. Christianson started down the fourth row.. During his class, however, some students from other classes had wandered in and sat down on the steps along the radiators that ran down the sides of the room. When the professor realized this, he did a quick count and saw that now there were 34 students in the room.
> He started to worry if Steve would be able to make it.
>
> Dr. Christianson went on to the next person and the next and the next. Near the end of that row, Steve was really having a rough time. He was taking a lot more time to complete each set.
>
> Steve asked Dr. Christianson, “Do I have to make my nose touch on each one?”
>
> Dr. Christianson thought for a moment, “Well, they’re your push-ups. You are in charge now. You can do them any way that you want.” And Dr. Christianson went on.
>
> A few moments later, Jason, a recent transfer student, came to the room and was about to
> come in when all the students yelled in one voice, “NO! Don’t come in! Stay out!”
>
> Jason didn’t know what was going on. Steve picked up his head and said, “No, let him come.”
>
> Professor Christianson said, “You realize that if Jason comes in you will have to do ten push-ups for him?”
>
> Steve said, “Yes, let him come in. Give him a donut.”
>
> Dr. Christianson said, “Okay, Steve, I’ll let you get Jason’s out of the way right now.
> Jason, do you want a donut?”
>
> Jason, new to the room, hardly knew what was going on. “Yes,” he said, “give me a donut.”
>
> “Steve, will you do ten push-ups so that Jason can have a donut?”
>
> Steve did ten push-ups very slowly and with great effort. Jason, bewildered, was handed a donut and sat down.
>
> Dr Christianson finished the fourth row, and then started on those visitors seated by the heaters. Steve’s arms were now shaking with each push-up in a struggle to lift himself against the force of gravity. By this time sweat was profusely dropping off of his face, there was no sound except his heavy breathing; there was not a dry eye in the room..
>
> The very last two students in the room were two young women, both cheerleaders, and very popular. Dr. Christianson went to Linda, the second to last, and asked, “Linda, do you want a doughnut?”
>
> Linda said, very sadly, “No, thank you.”
>
> Professor Christianson quietly asked, “Steve, would you do ten push-ups so that Linda can have a donut she doesn’t want?”
>
> Grunting from the effort, Steve did ten very slow push-ups for Linda.
>
> Then Dr. Christianson turned to the last girl, Susan. “Susan, do you want a donut?”
>
> Susan, with tears flowing down her face, began to cry. “Dr. Christianson, why can’t I help
> him?”
>
> Dr Christianson, with tears of his own, said, “No, Steve has to do it alone; I have given him this task and he is in charge of seeing that everyone has an opportunity for a donut whether they want it or not.. When I decided to have a party this last day of class, I looked at my grade book. Steve here is the only student with a perfect grade. Everyone else has failed a test, skipped class, or offered me inferior work. Steve told me that in football practice, when a player messes up he must do push-ups. I told Steve that none of you could come to my party unless he paid the price by doing your push-ups. He and I made a deal for your sakes.”
>
> “Steve, would you do ten push-ups so Susan can have a donut?”
>
> As Steve very slowly finished his last push-up, with the understanding that he had accomplished all that was required of him, having done 350 push-ups, his arms buckled beneath him and he fell to the floor.
> Dr. Christianson turned to the room and said, “And so it was, that our Savior, Jesus Christ, on the cross, plead to the Father, ‘Into thy hands I commend my spirit.’ With the understanding that He had done everything that was required of Him, He yielded up His life. And like some of those in this room, many of us leave the gift on the desk, uneaten. ”
>
> Two students helped Steve up off the floor and to a seat, physically exhausted, but wearing a thin smile.
>
> “Well done, good and faithful servant,” said the professor, adding, “Not all sermons are
> preached in words.”
>
> Turning to his class, the professor said, “My wish is that you might understand and fully comprehend all the riches of grace and mercy that have been given to you through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He spared not His Only Begotten Son, but gave Him up for us all, for the whole Church, now and forever. Whether or not we choose to accept His gift to us, the price has been paid.”
>
> “Wouldn’t you be foolish and ungrateful to leave it lying on the desk?”
>
> It’s bound to touch their heart and demonstrate Salvation in a very special way.

And now for our Florida News; Wife Busted For Craigslist Harass Of Husband’s Ex.
JUNE 24–In a bid to harass her new husband’s former wife, a Florida woman placed a phony ad on Craigslist that purported to seek men willing to stop by the ex-spouse’s home since she needed “to be thrown around a little bit and to be dominated, that is exciting for me.”

#23 Pyro: What really concerns me is when some “woman who really digs women” starts feeling off an honorable man’s wife and the honorable thing ensues. . . . . .someone gets a severe a$$-whoopin. This will likely cause a near riot and some innocent people could get hurt, not to mention the fact that the TSA molesters will simply step up their response and invasive procedures “because there are some really bad people out there”. It will be used as an excuse to perhaps instigate a mild form of martial law just to screw down the pressure on the people. The increase pressure will cause even greater outrage among the populace and things will quickly spin out of control.

What’s more likely to happen is that either a weapon will be smuggled in and hidden on board an aircraft by someone in catering or cleaning, or that a bomb will be placed on board by those people or baggage handlers. Those people go through minimal security (about as much as getting into a downtown office building). -

#25 Pyro: The basic scenario still stands. . . . . .SOMETHING is going to happen that will:
1) Outrage the populace
2) Cause the Feds/stazi to severely curtail our freedoms
3) #2 will cause riots and chaos
4) #3 will cause more freedoms to be curtailed/instigation of martial law
5) Lather, rinse, repeatIt would not surprise me in the slightest if the Feds/stazi plant the bomb or instigate the initial event to trigger the above. Just look at project “gun runner” and the fiasco in Waco with the Branch Dav-idiots, or the outright murder on Ruby Ridge. Isn’t it interesting that these events seem to occur during DEMONCRAP presidencies?

The whole TSA thing will have to be handled at the federal level. There’s no way around it. If ever there was a situation where the interstate commerce clause can legitimately be invoked it is in the case of air travel. This is not a 10th amendment situation.

Air travel is federally regulated. TSA is a federal agency. TSA employees are federal employees. All public airports are operated under FAA regulations.
P_trick’s bill will do absolutely nothing to change the TSA policy of feeling people up. If it were to pass it would end up at the SCOTUS and the ruling would be in favor of the TSA 9-0. It’s a complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars from the man that championed “sobriety checkpoints”. You know, for the children.
It must be changed at the federal level.

#33 Hammie: You are correct that Ruby Ridge happened during the last year of the Bush #41presidency. It is also true that the ATF was dominated by long term, Demoncrap leaning beaurocrats; further, the House was controlled by the D’s at that time (I think) and the ATF funding bill was due for review. My understanding is that they wanted something to show for their efforts and Randy Weaver was the target.
The underlying problem is the same, you have career beauro-terd-nozzles (almost always hard lefty) creating problems so they can come up with solutions to garner more power to themselves/the govt.
Goal: Get more power to me/my type of people/the govt.
How to accomplish: Never let a good crisis go to waste; if there is no good crisis then manufacture one.
Use crisis to promote health/safety/environment/fairness, etc. ie; put up smokescreen of BS so the people will not see the true motives and get people emotionally off balance to take advantage.
take freedoms from people to gain more power and accomplish goal. The above scenario has been played numerous times; debt ceiling, too big to fail, health care crisis, etc and it keeps working so they keep doing it.

If we can arrest a soldier who grabs my crotch without probable cause, we can arrest a glorified mall security cop. All Recruiting Offices are operated by the DoD. If a Recruiter grabs someone’s crotch in their office, they can be arrested by state or local LEOs and charged with a crime.
This elevation of the status of Federal workers to the point that they become immune from prosecution, or even more chilling, excused from the need for probable cause before they invade the security of my person or papers, is total and utter crap and does nothing more than add grease to the slippery slope.

And, I suppose, if they don’t change it, we just lay down and take it.
No sir. I want something done and I want it done now. The anti-groping law will do exactly that. SCOTUS will not only look at the 10th Amendment issues, but the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment issues brought forward by the lack of probable cause for a body search, and the prior restraint used as the rationale for it.
Its a Liberty issue, pure and simple. And the way this country OUGHT to work is that the State takes issue with the Federal Gummint to protect my rights and to hold the Feds accountable.
Immigration is a Federal issue as well. How do you feel about Arizona and Georgia’s illegal immigration legislation?

I’m gonna have to side w/ Sarge on this one. The Constitution was written specifically to limit the powers of the Federal Terd-nozzles, period, dot , bingo, end of story. The feds MUST HAVE PROBABLE CAUSE BEFORE THEY INVADE MY SPACE(S). Just because they say they need too simply does not make it so. If we let this intrusion slide there will just be many more coming and our Constitutionally protected freedoms and rights will slide further down the toilet of liberalism.

I would have a lot less problem with the TSA security procedures if they were shown to be effective. When they have a 70% failure rate in their own tests, something is critically amiss.
Couple that with the lax security on the “field” side of airports and what we have is nothing but a very expensive and intrusive charade.

I just think this entire attitude of “the FEds have to do it” is at the very center of the problems we’re having making the government smaller, cheaper, and more responsive to the citizens.
Stand up an fight, dammit, and cheer on those who do.
Sometimes I get the feeling that there are some who would be for this thing if Dan Patrick had nothing to do with it.

#45 Pyro: The fact is that the TSA gropage is working just as planned, they are de-sensitizing the sheeple to losing a little of their freedoms. The idea that they are trying to stop terrorists doesn’t even get to the batters box, let alone to first base, the real goal is to gradually take freedoms away. The 70+% failure rate is damning evidence that stopping terrorists from getting on the plane is not the intended purpose.

I’m not getting into debating one of your silly and disingenuous mis-characterizations of my position again, Sarge. We all know how that ends – Sarge dragging lumber up a stony hill.
Air travel is precisely the kind of case for which Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 of the US Constitution was written. The TSA regulations ARE a violation of several amendments in my opinion and they need to be challenged in the proper fashion. Trying to write state laws to trump federal laws will not work. All it does is allow Huey P(eacock) Patrick to perch on his roost and shake his tail feathers.

#49 Shannon: Do serial violations of the 1st, 4th and 5th amendments of the Constitution mean nothing? Where is the probable cause (remember, we are “fighting terrorism”) is strip searching a 95 year old lady who is wheelchair bound? Is there any reasonable assumption that this person could possibly be a threat? Just because they are feds DOES NOT GIVE THEM POWER TO STRIP US OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

We’re not talking about air travel. We’re talking about the actions of individuals on the ground, prior to any travel taking place. We can arrest and prosecute USDA personnel, even if they are groping you while inspecting your farm.
And no mischaracterization intended—but I did want to make a comparison between the positions take on states making law regarding illegal immigration and making law regarding the conduct of Federal LEOs in operating in the states. I really do want to know why you favor one, but not the other as i see the issues involved asbeing essentially the same: teh State taking action where the Federal Government will not.

Rewrite the constitution, then. There are hundreds if not thousands of cases where the commerce clause has been used to blatantly wrestle constitutional rights away from the several states granted by the 10th amendment. It’s abundantly clear this is not one of them. Yet some clown from Baltimore claiming to be an expert in “Cowboy Logic” throws a play-pretty in front of you and all of a sudden that Constitution doesn’t mean so much.

At what point do you remove the fig leaf of “its a federal regulation and the enabling legislation lets the agency set the rules” that allows a serial breach of our Constitutionally protected freedoms and rights? When is enough really wissin enough??
We are the frogs in the pot of water, the stove is on and they are slowly raising the temp, at what point do you jump out? -

Why aren’t several state AGs suing in federal court (where it belongs) to have these TSA procedures ruled unconstitutional? They’re doing it on Obamneycare. The Texas AG is doing it on stupid EPA rules. Why not on this? Because Peacock can’t use it in a campaign commercial.

When you’re satisifed with merely having smaller Big Government.

Nor fer nuttin, but the comments about Dan Patrick seem to be what’s more important than the Liberty issues involved.
I’ll stand by my earlier statement that there’s some that would be for this if Patrick had nothing to do with it.
I could care less who had the ballz to stand up to the Feds. It needed doing.

Let’s see here, THE FEDS serially violate our Constitutionally protected rights (cuz its in the legislation that THE FEDS can set the rules) and THE FEDS slow play and frivolously delay the day in FEDERAL COURT, insisting that WE THE PEOPLE must be sure to cross every T and dot every I and jump through every hoop they set up, while they continue to violate our rights and we just have to be good little sheeple “and wait for the FEDERAL COURT to sort things out” meanwhile the damage is continuing to be done. Does that clearly describe the current situation with the TSA, ATF, Homeland Security or have I left something out?

Again, you’re not asking the right question. Like Shannon said, that these rules are wrong is not in dispute. The question is how to stop them. Passing state legislation to trump federal legislation is ineffective and may be detrimental.

Hammie can you see that THE FEDERAL COURTS are not inclined to cede power taken from the states back to the states? The federal govt is out of control and they have been for decades running roughshod over the states and the Constitution,it is becoming a real severe case of the states individually against the collective might of the feds. The federal govt is a creation of the states, when that federal govt serially over-reaches their authority and tramples on the rights of the citizens as individuals (TSA gropage), the states (unfunded mandates, failure to secure the borders, etc); it becomes the sovereign duty of the states to jerk the feds back in line. Failure to do so can only lead to tyranny. FEDERAL COURT is a hopelessly un-level and chronically biased playing field – one only needs to look to the SCOTUS upholding McSwine/Finecrap “don’t criticize and incumbent” law to see that.

This is interesting:
One of the most powerful arguments that could be mounted in the upcoming presidential election could come from only one of the potential challengers: Rick Perry. The economic engine driving the Texas economy isn’t going full pedal to the medal but, even so, it sure is leaving the rest of the country in the dust. As testament to that statement, I reference newgeography.com where a list of the Best Cities for Job Growth 2011 has an astounding nine Texas cities in the top twenty. Here are the criteria for making the determinations:

To those who mindlessly parrot the liberal line that we can’t elect another Texan to the presidency, I would posit this response: would you rather have a Texan who turns this country around and brings the American economy roaring back or keep that affirmative action, Harvard lawyer turned community organizer who’s got the world’s greatest economic engine headed straight off the cliff followed by all the lemmings who elected him?http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/06/texasthe_very_best_of_the_57_states.html

This isn’t making any sense. The logical way to handle this is as I described in 68 or as Shannon described in 90. Peacock’s law would end up in the federal courts too, it will just take a lot longer and be more detrimental to Texas. In the meantime, your granny’s still getting groped. But at least the Texas Kingfish gets his campaign commercial.

Let’s see if we can use a different analogy:
You have a bratty kid who keeps transgressing his parents clear and easy to understand rules. Let’s just say he is squirting the dog with the hose His parents let him get away with it because he is only 4 and he is so cute. A few years later he decides that throwing rocks at cars is really fun, particularly when they slam on the brakes; and still the parents do nothing. Now the bratty kid is 12 and he is doing drugs and breaking into houses and extorting money from the other kids in the neighborhood. 2 years later he is in jail because the cops have caught him in the act, but seeing as how this is his first offence (merely the first time he has been caught) he gets off with a mild wrist slap. Now the parents are finally going to try to discipline their bratty kid but it is too late, his pattern of flaunting authority and the easy to understand rules is ingrained. The only hope is for really drastic measures to correct his behavior and the parents attempt this but now everybody starts getting between the negligent parents and the incorrigible yute, because the discipline has to be severe because nothing else is working. Had the parents used proper judgement and paddled the little brats azz when he was squirting the dog, the overwhelming majority of the rest of the garbage never would have materialized. The federal agencies like ATF, EPA, Homeland Security, TSA, etc have become like the 12 year old above; we, the states and individuals have been like the lazy parents; unless we take real strong action now (instead of letting his teachers in school, aka the congress/federal courts continue to fail to handle it) the end results are unpalatable.
I am no fan of the militant moderate, Danny Goob, but at least he is throwing down the gauntlet and saying enough is wissing enough. If you think that the federal courts are the answer you do not understand the severity of the problem. -

Seriously. Whatchagonnado?I’m not convinced it would get laughed out of court. I think Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts would love to get ahold of this. T+Recently, SCOTUS has ben freindly to 10th Amendment issues. The good thing about this being a State/Feds thing is that itw will get expeditied review and the lawyers are all on staff. I don’t mind the expenditure of tax dollars on this issue. I think it will resolve a lot of problems besides TSA groping.
I look forward to this getting into the court.

If you think that the federal courts are the answer you do not understand the severity of the problem.
I understand the problem clearly. You just haven’t presented a valid solution. If you think that some podunk state senator introducing a state law (which WILL end up in the federal courts if passed) is going to solve the problem then you don’t understand the Constitution. It’s an unenforceable and unconstitutional show law.
Still no one’s answered Shannon’s #98.

Seriously. Whatchagonnado?I’m gonna try to stick to the TSA Gropage issue to answer this question.
1) When Texas State LEO’s witness a TSA TERD groping and that gropage would be a criminal act IN ALMOST EVERY OTHER SETTING said terd gets arrested and charged with sexual assault. Said terd is denied bail and must remain in jail until the issue is resolved.
2) Withhold all gasoline and other federal excise taxes from the feds. We will just keep them in escrow until the serial violations stop.
3) Encourage as many other states as possible to engage in#1 and 2 above. We must remember that the federal govt is a creation of the states, we brought them in and we can take them out. I am not advocating that as last time is cost us waaaaaaaay too much blood. If you “let the courts sort it out” proponents can’t see how close to the edge we are from tyranny you aren’t looking.

Further to my #110 above, the tax dollar issue is at the heart of the power struggle. When the states collected tax dollars and forwarded them to the feds, prior to the IRS amendment, the feds pretty much minded their p’s and q’s; now that they control all the money they have become really undisciplined. This whole issue is a really darned good reason to elect as conservative as possible (given the choices available) a POTUS so that we don’t get the outright thieves and socialist Judges that the D’s will put in.

Tell me, oh couch master, what is insane about arresting molesters? Are you going to claim that the gropage does not constitute molestation? It sure as heck would in almost any other setting. Molestation is against state and federal law, or am I mistaken? Would you get really wissed off it the Feds decided to pull you over and thoroughly search your car, your briefcase any luggage that you may have in the car, your person, under the pretense that you are or could be on you way to the airport? Where do you draw the line when it comes to the serial violation of the Bill of Rights? You keep saying ‘let the courts sort it out’, but that can take years and in the process the azz-raping of our rights continues.

didja miss this part?
1) When Texas State LEO’s witness a TSA TERD groping and that gropage would be a criminal act IN ALMOST EVERY OTHER SETTING said terd gets arrested and charged with sexual assault. Said terd is denied bail and must remain in jail until the issue is resolved.
When faced with certain jail time ( you may be able to beat the crime but you can’t beat the ride) some/most of those TSA TERDS may choose a different approach. Remember, they have tremendous discretion as to how far they want to go on the search front.

I’m going to repeat this one more time in the hopes it will finally sink in:
That the TSA is wrong to de-diaper old ladies and molest citizens is not in dispute.

There will be no jail time because the law will never go into effect. The only thing that will happen is well-intentioned people will be tools of the Peacock’s campaign commercials.

They do have a bicameral legislature but they only meet 60 days/year as opposed to Texas’ 140 days every other year. They’re also term-limited. And no they don’t hold session in a swamp. Like Texas, they meet in a liberal cesspool college town. I don’t think any of their members have ever run away to Georgia to avoid a vote, though.

(I’ve been trying manfully to stay out of this but I just can’t help myself………..)
Okay, Sarge – just for the sake of argument – not that I think for a moment that it will happen, but still – suppose that Danny boy gets his law passed. And, suppose that the Texas Rangers, the local PD and LEO’s from across the state are there at DFW to perp walk the whole lot of TSA pervs off to jail for being pervs.
What happens then?
The FAA publishes rules that restrict commercial air traffic from landing at Texas airports, the airlines modify their schedules and we simply do without airline service.
Despite what you or Bonecrusher or Danny boy may wish Texas is part of a larger nation and this problem is incontrovertibly a national problem. I know you may wish otherwise but wishes don’t make it so.
It’s a federal problem, you have to solve it on a federal level.

This IS about Straus. Dewcrist figgered it out and got out of the way. Straus just let loose his wolves to call us crazy like he did when his power was threatened the last time. He’s got a good machine. Karen Hughes runs it, and she’s no slouch. The talking points memos went out Friday night. “Call them crazy, its our best chance.”

The FAA publishes rules that restrict commercial air traffic from landing at Texas airports, the airlines modify their schedules and we simply do without airline service.
And when Oklahoma, Louisiana, NM, AZ Kansas and Missouri follow Texas lead, Southwest Airlines makes a whole lot of money, all they gotta do at that point is not veer into terdland.
Another possible solution is for a majority in the House to simply defund TSA. How are they gonna grope with out pay?
Let’s try one more time to get a grip on this nonsense:
1) The current system DOES NOT WISSIN WORK, theyThe FAA publishes rules that restrict commercial air traffic from landing at Texas airports, the airlines modify their schedules and we simply do without airline service. they report a 70% failure rate. I would bet you the rate is even higher than that.
2) The current system craps on the Bill o rights.
3) End this system and start using the Israeli system, which does work. That the TSA is wrong to de-diaper old ladies and molest citizens is not in dispute.
The problem is that it will continue until when and if the fed courts finally get around to it and stop it. This could take years and I don’t think it is reasonable to ask We The People to put up with that crapola for weeks, let alone years.

That’s funny. The last time I even mentioned Danny Boy before today was back in December, almost six months ago. Even funnier, that’s the ONLY time I mentioned him here before today. But the most hilarious thing of all is your continuing attempt to paint me as some sort of Straus sycophant. I’ve never said a word about my feelings on Straus as Speaker or Straus the man. Not once. The only serious comment I have ever made was this. All other comments where I mentioned his name were in response to your obsessive droning about him.
And just what is your criteria for “usually”? Apparently it’s once. Or it could be you just like to argue for the sake of arguing and facts don’t matter. That’s what I’m going with.

Shutting down Texas airports woulds cause a nationwide scheduling disaster. Everybody would be affect. At least two airlines would quickly go out of business, and their Union employees would be out of a job. Anybody anywhere in this country who does business with Texas would be affected. He knows it. It will never happen.

Never said anything about myself. But Dan Patrick wouldn’t be the only politician to play games and use surrogates to get his word out. A well finananced and well connected politician like Straus has a very long Rolodex, and he’d definately use channels he’s used before. Dewcrist certainly got the word about how damaging killing this thing was to his chances of state wide election. Straus only has to worry about his own district—and killing the Sanctuary cities bill and the 43 other immigration bills that were filed this session does that for him. But as it was with him at the beginning of the session, he knows he’s in trouble for re-election to his post. He’s fundamentally opposed to doing anything Conservative, so he’s going to go nasty. He’s demonstrated a predeliciton for that, and a willingness to do so. His supporters would user any means necessary to get out the word that those who disagree with him are either racist, crazy, or stupid. When a guy like that shoots out a talking points memo, he shoots them out to people he knows will carry that ball and talk it up among everybody they know. They’ll work on every emotion and bias they can find to get people to put out the message. They becomin unknowing participants in the media blitz—usefull idiots if you will.

TT, I meant to comment earlier today about your traffic-in-India video — I was especially amazed by the train running through a street market — how they have to reel in their awnings till the train passes — then back to business.
The craziest things I’ve ever seen in Houston traffic were 1) a guy on roller blades in a traffic lane on 90A. He was keeping up with the cars! 2) a guy on a skateboard in a traffic lane on TC Jester.
