Plastic guns made out of straws.
Kinda like putting an Aggie in a round room and telling him to pee in a corner.
They just don’t know what to do.

It’s very discouraging to remember at 11 pm on a Monday night that…
it is 11 pm on Monday night.

The other nite I was eating some pretty good short ribs with my son. We talked for many hours and ate and drank well. His eyes lit up when I told him about the time just Kim and I went to a dinner theater together in Austin to see Ray Charles. A very special memory of mine that can still… Read more »
Tucker is saying that Bidet is baiting Putin into a nuclear war. Been nice knowing you all. Nite nite.
#38 Shannon, that is good to hear we need some good news around here.
#47 Texpat, Checking out WI politics this election year is on my list of to-dos. And since we’ll be in Madison late this month I can get more info from the Wisconsin State Journal. (Kinfolk subscribe to it), I certainly hope WI can drop that Minnesota border crosser out of the Governor’s Office. Would hope the current Republican Legislators can… Read more »
Since I had to get an Austin phone number for my cell phone out here I get numerous political messages – usually for James or for Margaret. I block the numbers, but they keep coming anyway. They must have hundreds of phone numbers sending out these spam messages. I get a lot for the Dems, a lot for Baytoe about… Read more »
I always have the option of blocking the number.

I wouldn’t be able to resist responding to those creeps. I’d love to see what they are up to. The real downside is they are going to bomb your phone with endless messages the closer to election we get.
@6:46 – Of course we all have our own perceptions!
I DESPISE going to my mailbox at 67.75 years old – I reckon that aint going to lessen any for me in the next 12+ years…………….and IF 80 cards don’t arrive ALL on the same day…………….
I swear I’m not a pessimist – merely a realist
Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer…
I received the following text and I’m almost tempted to respond in the affirmative just to see what the other side has planned. “The MAGA GOP has already banned abortion in 14 states. If they get power this November, they want Congress to ban abortion in all 50. This is why we’re putting everything we’ve got into the midterm elections… Read more »
I’m assuming he meant no more parties, where she has to deal with people.
I’m also assuming that mom has no idea her son is arranging this with his friends. His messages sounded like it was his idea. I’m sure that if this was going to be upsetting, he wouldn’t have asked.
MsTT @ 6:18 –
Of course all we Humans have our own perceptions – is not a birthday card a miniature ‘celebration’ that one HAS to go find in their mailbox?
IMHO – “no more” = NO MORE
One of my Carmel Light friends has an 80 year old mother, who became a widow in the last year or so. She doesn’t want any more birthday celebrations, so my friend is asking 80 of his friends to send her birthday cards.
Such a sweet idea.

Shannon, glad to hear you got good news at your appointment!
Adee
What are you hearing from Wisconsin on the Tim Michels-R vs Tony Evers-D governors race up there ?
All the polling scammers are calling it a dead heat so I figure Michels has an edge there.
I told Shannon it was all those years of high pressure atrial fibrillation that just blew out those damned clots.
Bonecrusher I’m sorry to hear about your friend. May he Rest in Peace.
Shannon congrats on the good news of your ticker being in tip top shape.
Yea for Shannon! A great relief to know everything is now ok.
I will have similar surgery on one carotid artery on November 4th. It’s something like 75% occluded, and the other one is not nearly so occluded. That is of sort a weird badge of living to old age. 🙂
Best line I’ve seen in a while on Twitter the other day.

Good Evening Hamsters, Texpat’s Climate Change History Lesson, above, is a great piece written in plain English for non-climate scientists to comprehend (which is most of us). We learned in grade school that changes in the Earth’s atmosphere and “climate” (a word not to be bandied about by the climate change nuts, but they do) existed long before sentient life… Read more »

I just got a heads up from my connection at the thrift store. She has 13 jars, mostly quarts, that I can pick up tomorrow. I told Hubby I needed some more quart jars! I feel like I’m cheating, but I guess the store doesn’t care as long as someone buys them…I’ll be seeing Rose tomorrow. I need to buy… Read more »
Nap went fairly well. Sunshine is still bright, and it’s warmed up some. Thinking about going to the grocery store.
Thanks for all the warm wishes. This week is going to be hectic for the only child and widow. I only lost a friend, they lost a husband and father.
Bonecrusher, my condolences, for you and the loved ones.
I see that today is MacGyver Day, I’m guessing the anniversary of the show. The last I saw, Richard Dean Anderson was living as a bit of a recluse. He lives with his dog and his back injury. I think his daughter is in show biz some way. I watched every episode of Stargate SG1. I loved his sarcastic wit. … Read more »

Regarding my friend who died on Saturday: I have since learned that he was watching his beloved Aggies play on Sat. morning, his wife left to run some errands and about 3 hours later found him on the floor, already cold. The heart simply stopped and he died. He was a deacon at 2nd Baptist Church on Woodway and Voss. … Read more »
Climate Change History Lesson Ignored by the Left Here is a nice piece by a native Californian on that state’s brutal climate change history. Morning, chickadees. I am up very late today because I tried something new last night. For the 3 years or so that I’ve had kitty JoJo, I wanted her to be super safe overnight — not pestered by any of the other cats.
