G’night All.  Checking up on everybody’s news late. Busy day today with both of us going to the dermatologist for the 6-month checkup on faces and arms to look for possible skin cancers starting.   Any incipient ones are taken care of pronto with a frozen blast that leaves a cold red spot where it was.  The red fades in a… Read more »

The polls don’t close in Alaska for another hour.

I got hungry again reading what Y’all had Fer Supper. I have to be strong and not go get something out of the Fridge. I didn’t stop my Cats though. They all had a midnight snack and then off to see what is lurking in the shadows outside. Can’t wait to see all the election results and summaries in the… Read more »

Well, speaking of movies.

I watched The Elite Killer

Filmed in 1975

-A young James Caan

-Robert Duvall

-Arthur Hill

-Burt Young

All set in San Francisco.

Great scenery and a fairly predictable plot but good entertainment.

That movie Flight sounds interesting.  I’m going to see if it is on Amazon tomorrow.

I hope her a$$ got beaten so badly she won’t be able to sit down for a month.

And I hope her shame is enough that her Jan 6th “presentations” are muted.  But I doubt it.  She hates Trump with a seething hate, and this only add fuel to her fire.  And her CNN spot gets more firmly determined.

MHarper at least you prepare something to eat at home. When I was a boy, my cousin’s grandma clipped coupons for fast food joints. She and grandpa would go eat lunch out and bring the leftovers home for dinner… 7 days a week.

Because I had read all your dinner plans before I even got hungry, I was definitely leaning to Mexican chow when the time came. I had some frozen taquitos so I zapped some of those, then spooned Pace salsa over them, accompanied by a small bowl of Wolf brand chili and a side of Spanish rice. Normally I would have… Read more »

Texpat I also hate “journalists” who write news reports involving unknown companies, obscure government agencies, trade groups and random non-profit organizations and just assume every reader will exactly who they are writing about Exactly! My high school French teacher said I had the best French “r” he’d ever heard.  I was at a friend’s house, who had a friend from Mexico visiting her.  I read a local menu out loud, and he asked me how long I lived in Mexico.

I have a very linguistic tongue, I suppose.

Why do you need to hire her or anybody else currently ?   It was rhetorical.  I’m hoping I’m past having OH.   But it seems that Hubby’s “employer” has a friend who needs a sewer separation for his property that is being sold.  I am NOT running those permits!  I had enough trouble using the city’s new GIMS system.… Read more »

TexMo 2017hrs: Latin, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hebrew, and probably some others all share the same grammatical structure – which is different than that English which we speak here. I took Spanish in the 2nd grade and in the 7th grade I took French.  I wound up using Spanish words and pronunciation in French class.  I guess the same structure… Read more »

BSue @ 6:46 pm When I lived in Morocco, I took several different French classes to learn the language. I got to where I could understand about 85% of what was said during a meeting. We really like Denzel Washington, just when we think we’ve watched all the older ones, one will pop up. Like, how’d we ever not see this one? Anyway, I watched Flight last night, came out in 2012 I think it said. Beth Dutton was in it. I think they’re real.

Among U.S. states, Texas is unusual in its practice of referring to county executives as “judges.” Arkansas is the only other U.S. state to do so, and Kentucky uses “judge-executive,” though the latter have been stripped of their judicial powers. Other states use titles like “county executive” or “county manager.”

Those pork tenderloin medallions are so great. But I gave up on them some time ago.

I’m in the middle of a ten year broccoli fast. Subject to a ten year extension.

So I buy the whole pork tenderloin and use a different vegetable.

The FDA has determined cooked broccoli aroma kills roaches and is hazardous to all mammals.
