This is really horrible.  I can’t believe this man is actually running for the presidency.

    I’ll bring this over from earlier this morning;

Oh and the storm plowed through here about 2 AM, dropped ½” of rain and was gone by the time I let Dawg out a 3:30. It was breezy not any high wind but it did knock over a flowerpot on the front porch no limbs down in the yard but I’ll check later after sunup.

Well looky here; US GDP jumps 7.4 percent in third quarter, a record-setting rebound.

The US economy staged a record-setting rebound from the coronavirus crisis in the third quarter, the feds said Thursday — but there’s still a long way to go before the nation makes a full recovery.

America’s gross domestic product — the value of all goods and services produced here — grew by roughly 7.4 percent from July to September as consumers and businesses emerged from the pandemic-related lockdowns that led to a 9 percent contraction in the second quarter.

That growth equates to an annual rate of 33.1 percent, by far the largest since modern record-keeping began in 1947 and nearly twice the previous record surge of 16.7 percent in the first quarter of 1950, the US Commerce Department data show. Economists were expecting an annualized 31.9 percent jump after the second quarter’s 31.4 percent plunge.

The lovely Mrs. Bonecrusher decided that 66 was too cold for Freddy, so she turned on the heat. Freddy is a male betta that lives in a big flower vase by the front door. Freddy the Front Door Fish.

I was nowhere near as concerned about Freddy as I am about the batch I have fermenting; if it gets too cold the fermentation can stop and seeing as how it is getting close to the end it may not restart. I didn’t check it this morning, but yesterday morning it was still active. By Sunday it will have been active for 2 weeks, which is quite a long time.

I think my body is finally trying to do catch-up on lost sleep from earlier this week. I think I actually fell asleep before midnight last night – that hasn’t happened in a while – and I woke up at 5:30 to take a potty break. I went back to bed, thinking I’d be up for the day in a half hour or so.

The next time my eyes opened, it was 7:30. So I’m eating breakfast and checking in here. I think I’m going to try to fast the rest of today. Trying to decide when and how much to exercise later. I guess it’ll depend upon how awake I am and if my constitution can take it without eating.

HEADLINE: Can We Wipe Out All Coronaviruses for Good? Here’s What a Group of 200 Scientists Think

One vaccine to rule them all. That was the blue sky goal for a new global collaboration with hopes to beat coronaviruses. I’m not just talking about SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for our current pandemic. I’m talking about all coronaviruses—past, present, and future—even those that haven’t yet made the leap into humans.

Published in Science, the unique collaboration tapped nearly 200 scientists crossing academic and industry borders, and asked: do coronaviruses have a shared pressure point? If so, can we exploit it to engineer a universal vaccine against the entire viral family?

Short answer: yes, and maybe. The team brought the whole modern biology toolshed to decipher three coronaviruses: SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV-1, and MERS-CoV, each of which has wreaked havoc on human society. By analyzing how these viruses interact with human cells, the team was able to find a handful of critical shared proteins that the viruses use to hijack our bodies.
    /SNIP
Moving from theory to practical validation, the group then used CRISPR and RNA interference—a Nobel Prize-winning technique that silences the message of a gene—to snip out over 300 viral proteins from the screen, one by one. They then infected human cells in Petri dishes with these kneecapped mutants to see if they could still replicate and thrive.

The result was a lofty number of 73 proteins necessary for coronaviruses to replicate themselves. Some were familiar to scientists and validated the viral map: PGES2 (catchy, I know), for example, interacts with the common “N” proteins on all three viruses—validating the previous computer modeling results.

But do they do anything in real life? In their next gargantuan step, the team analyzed data from roughly 740,000 people who had either tested positive for Covid-19 or were presumed positive. Here’s the kicker: some people were prescribed a drug called indomethacin, which grabs onto PGES-2, and potentially rips it away from the viral “N” protein—hence, molecular distancing. With the protein handshake between virus and human cells now gone, it means that the virus can’t replicate itself as normal, at least in theory.

Medical billing data suggests that might be the case. People who took indomethacin were less likely to end up in the hospital or require inpatient services than those who took another similar drug that didn’t target PGES-2.

In other words: using computer modeling, genetics, molecular biology, and real-world data, the team may have found a human-viral protein handshake that’s conserved across the three most deadly coronaviruses in our history.

    Do read the whole thing.

#14 TT: From Sat night to Tues night, I think the most sleep I got was, maybe 5 hours. Last night I was in bed by 7, after falling asleep on the couch for an hour. I woke up around midnight to pee, then back to sleep. I woke up feeling refreshed this morning. Last night I felt run-down, kind of like on the verge of getting sick. This morning, there is no trace of that.
It really is amazing that when you let your body do what it is supposed to do by getting some rest, you get better; almost like it was that way by DESIGN or sumptin. . . .

I’m getting close to the end of my second 54 Day Novena for the country. This one is from Church Militant; praying not with them but on their schedule. I finished the US Grace Force novena some days ago.

I was talking to a lady recently who was going through a bad time in her marriage. She also is Catholic, so I shared with her that I prayed a rosary and a Divine Mercy Chaplet every day, which is also prayed on the rosary beads. She was praying her rosary, but had never heard of the DMC.

The DMC has some opening prayers, but then the decade cycle begins. Each bead in the decade has prayed on it “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” The first time I prayed it, I started crying. The repetition of that phrase really brought home how much sin is in the world. Nowadays, I explained to her, I dedicate each bead to a person/group as I say that prayer. I have a bead for myself, my husband, my children, my priest, all priests, each sibling and spouse, cousins, deceased relatives (whom I hope are in Purgatory and can benefit from my prayer), Pope, governmental leaders (all), leaders of other countries, any other particular person or group, and then I blanket it over the whole world.

By the time I’m finished with the 50 beads in the five decades, I feel better. It helps me to know that I’m praying for those who I feel need it most as well as those for whom could just use some spiritual support.

She liked that idea. She said she was going to look it up.

So, it’s rosary and DMC time now, before I start my work day.

HEADLINE: So You Say You Want a Revolution?

The parallels between early 1900s Russia and today are interesting. The left wants no part of trying to change things within the system, they want violent overthrow and will lie, cheat, steal, and murder to accomplish their objectives. The left is like the Borg on Star Trek; they can not be reasoned with nor negotiated with, they have no interest in anything but their own power. They must be utterly destroyed or they will destroy the USA. There is no possibility of a negotiated settlement; attempts to achieve this by the right only gives power to the left. The left want war and will keep pushing until they get it or the right commits suicide and simply capitulates. The end of the game is the same; either the left is utterly defeated or a whole bunch of us are going to get killed by the left.

French Islamist beheads one, kills another, stabs a third – in a Catholic church.

NICE, France (ChurchMilitant.com) – A Muslim jihadi has gone on a stabbing spree in Nice’s Notre-Dame Basilica, killing the male sacristan, beheading an elderly woman at the baptismal font and knifing a fleeing third woman who died in a nearby café.

Armed police cordon the basilica after jihadi massacre

The assailant in his 20s, identifying himself as “Ibrahim,” stabbed and wounded several others around the neo-gothic Basilica of the Assumption of our Lady around 9 am Thursday.

Police shot and severely wounded the killer, who was heard repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” [God is greatest] as he was taken away in an ambulance.

“He cried ‘Allahu Akbar!’ over and over, even after he was injured. The meaning of his gesture left no doubt,” Nice’s Mayor Christian Estrosi told BFM television, labeling the attack “Islamo-fascist terror.”

Don’t hear about many attacks on Baptist/Methodist/Lutheran churches.

What I found particularly irritating in the article:

Mainstream media and politicians, tight-lipped on the role of jihadi ideology in the stabbing spree, referred to the incident as a “terrorist attack.”

If you can’t name your enemy, you can’t defeat him.

I don’t know how this passes Constitutional muster or how it is anything but disenfranchisement.
Wouldn’t it be funny that those states, if those laws are actually in effect, wind up giving the election to Trump where he would have lost otherwise?

Spouse donated blood again this morning, and we’ve lost track of how many times over the years he’s done that. Certainly his donations amount to 15+ gallons, and only the Blood Center has the exact count. When he goes in to donate he usually doesn’t know what the center needs at the moment, so it could be whole blood, red blood cells, platelets, or plasma. What the Blood Center needs at the moment dictates what they will take, so donation time varies according to their component needs.

And the folks there gave him a Happy Birthday card since today is his birthday. They keep track of things like that. We’re going to birthday dinner at a favorite restaurant out here, this year without the company of good friends since we’re not supposed to do that. Some health cranks probably would begrudge us going out at all for dinner. Well screw that, idiots. 🙂

I made it *very clear* that I was the only one allowed to use that mug. If Hubby (who likes his beverages in big styrofoam cups because he doesn’t like small drinking receptacles) wanted a big mug, he could go bleed for his own.

This is about as Russian collusion as you can get.

But the Russians certainly are holding blackmail tapes on Hunter Biden to use against a Biden administration.
We found the real blackmail photos. This has nothing to do with President Trump. But it does have everything to do with THE BIDENS.

One such example was in October 2018 on Devlin Drive West Hollywood with some ‘friends’. Hunter spent a night in this luxurious property with a group of girls and guys. One member of the group was a girl by the name of Christina. She has a California driver’s license. She also spent some time with Hunter.
    /snip
But these aren’t ordinary friends, it appears they are Russians. These guys hung out with Hunter Biden at the luxurious property in West Hollywood.

The problem with this vacation was that multiple compromising pictures were taken of him by some of these ‘friends’ and the acts were captured on the CCTV cameras. One such picture shows Hunter in what appears to be an orgy, in others he models naked.

An evaluation of one of the women in the above picture shows that she has a some marking on her upper back. However, after the image was taken, someone covered it up with a black ellipse. We were able to uncover that under the black ellipse, there was a tattoo. This type of marking is similar to tattoos used to brand trafficked sex slaves.
    /snip
As a result of this event, the Bidens became the likely targets of blackmail. Unlike the fake pee pee images which were alleged in the Steele dossier and the Russia collusion farce the Bidens truly do have a never-ending list problems that should disqualify them from ever holding public office again.

No sooner had we arrived home than the phone rang with a birthday call from spouse’s brother and wife up in Wisconsin. They’ve had a couple of inches of snow with the latest outbreak of really cold air, a bit early for winter to horn in. Early in the season it can look so beautiful, but a whole season of snow and ice starts to wear thin in beauty along about late January. There’s an uptick in virus cases in the state and much of the Midwest lately when we here have been having a decrease of cases. Likely to be increasing cases up there is cold weather keeping folks indoors more, as in below freezing temps recently plus the snow.

Well, TuCa says the documents showed up from UPS. Turns out there were no documents in the conventional sense, just a flash drive. No details forthcoming from UPS about the circumstances of the find, and they say they threw the package away from whence the flash drive escaped. Something is amiss still, TuCa made that clear, but it seems for all practical purposes, the case is closed, at least to the public. UPS may have some housecleaning to do, but we’ll probably never hear of it.

In other news, I’ve been a bum all day today, so I need to set my schedule to get a few things done tomorrow. No heavy lifting though. My animal farm seems glad to have me back, snarfing down birdseed, deer corn, water, and whatever else they can find. Tomorrow is a big Friday weigh in day. I’ve been holding back on much discussion lately, but I’m still holding firm. Typically a couple of poached eggs with sausage or bacon in the morning, a slab of beef or pork with fresh sliced tomatoes and either green beans or asparagus in the evening. I found some new spicy oil at Walmart to sprinkle on the maters, and it’s pretty good. Now that I’m back, I’ll be going to the Olive Oil shop here soon. I don’t expect the results of tomorrow’s weigh in to be earth shattering, but I keep reminding myself that I’m doing this in a healthy fashion, I’m still dropping a few ounces here and there, and in the bigger picture, I should still be well within the guidelines for one month’s loss. BTW, I’m defining a month as 28 days rather than calendar months, just for book keeping purposes.

I may or may not be back later this evening, so if I don’t report back in to wish you all a good evening, don’t worry. I’m stretching out this being lazy all day as far as it will go.

D & R won’t find anything bad in this neighborhood.  One of the 7 householders who announced her safe distancing plans listed a trebuchet which she would use to launch small bags of candy at passers-by.

The Marxist AG in in Minnesota is trying to limit Trump’s rally tomorrow to 250. It would also apply to Biden’s rally. Heh. If he got 250 people to attend it would be a ten fold increase.
