I finally made it back to church yesterday after an almost eight month Covid hiatus. It felt great!
They encourage people to wear masks, but they are not enforcing it so I chose to breath freely along with about half of the other parishioners. I typically volunteer to hold a napkin when they serve communion, but they now have the altar boys holding the napkins. The altar boys wore a mask, but the priests and deacon did not wear a mask while serving communion.
After confession on Friday, our priest conveyed what it was like for him at the beginning of Covid. They served the Paschal Liturgy with only one priest, one deacon, two sub-deacons, and one altar boy, and Zero parishioners. Our priest said it felt almost surreal. He said the hardest thing was keeping the church locked up for all those weeks. He also mentioned that at the beginning the White House called all the leaders of all faiths here in the US to ask for their help in closing down churches. Our priest was in an online meeting recently with all the clergy and bishops in the Antiochian Archdiocese. Our Metropolitan Joseph has said he most likely will NOT entertain the idea of shuttering churches ever against in the future. I just hope the leaders of some of the mainline protestant churches follow that path too.

Dave’s boy is gonna have a hard time celebrating Thanksgiving due to Newsom’s Rules On How To Celebrate Thanksgiving Safely.

#5 TexMo, knowing the boy he’ll probably have a block party with 3 other families that he is friendly with, they’re all conservative and BBQ together. Oh and the guy down the street that took done his Biden sign, he’ll probably call the Man but neighbor is a LA Detective and is friendly with the Moorpark Police so, no problem. 😉

I got a big wall map of the USA from the office and I offered it to my daughter, Heartcrusher, for my grandson, Maximus. She called when we were still enroute back to the house from the Texas MoMe yesterday morning to find out what time she should come over. I told her where we were and she asked if we practiced social distancing and did everyone wear masks. Of course, the answer was obvious, HELL NO, so she recoiled in horror and declined to come over. She was afraid that “asymptomatic carriers” could have spread the disease. Unfortunately, she has drunk deeply of the leftist koolaid and there doesn’t seem to be a way to reach through the fog. Even when the evidence is there for anyone to see, she refuses to see the truth and hangs on to the leftist lies. A bit hard-headed she is.

Morning gang. Heard that it’s 20 degrees and snowing in Amadamarillo, some rain here in Big D. The real cold front hasn’t made it here yet. Got some chores to do here today. Hopefully we will have Judge Amy on the court by nap time, and that weasel Chief Justice Roberts can go ahead and flip to the liberal side all he wants to and still not make any difference. His tenure as the coveted “swing” vote on the court will have been short, and BTW don’t think for one minute that he is not pizzed about that. The Dems should have taken Ruth out when Zero was still in office, they didn’t, and now they must pay. And don’t think for one minute they wouldn’t do the same if they were in the majority.
OK, you all have a great day, and more later as it develops.

#7 – Among the lefties evil plans, destroying family unity is another of them. The disruption of the family unit is important to them to allow government or some sympathetic group to replace the family. I see that at Rice where the current administration is encouraging the new grads and students to ban together to oppose the traditionalists grands and alums in an effort to impose all new ideas and “traditions” on campus. Divide and conquer is the phrase of the year from the lefties.

From the Texas Reader
Killed in Kenedy
October 17, 1929.
In twelve days the door would slam shut on the roaring twenties with the crash of the stock market. The Great Depression was nigh, but there was no precognition in the crowd that day in Kenedy that day, just blood lust.
Legs shackled and chained between two mesquite trees, the condemned stood with his back to his executioners. The thirty-one year-old was about to pay for his crime with his life. No fear could be seen in his dark features. He may have even welcomed what was about to happen.
There was no doubt he was guilty. Everyone on the street in Corsicana the previous Saturday had seen him beat the life out of Eva Donohoo.
In a fit of rage he had picked her up and slammed her to the ground. Bystanders tried in vain to pull her away from him and twice succeeded, but twice he pulled her back and continued his assault. No man in Texas could have stopped him.
He was nine feet tall.
He weighed nine tons.
He was a bull elephant called Black Diamond.
His rampage happened during the parade of the Al G. Barnes Circus into Corsicana.
After Black Diamond was calmed and confined to his train car, the circus folks were at a loss as to what they should do. The beast had previously killed two trainers and it was now dawning on them that displaying him might constitute poor judgment.
So they telegramed John Ringling, who with his brothers had just purchased the Barnes outfit.
The word came back: Put him down. But be humane about it.
Given the ideas for doing the deed that were floated, you have to wonder if anyone had checked the definition of humane.
First they considered an offer from the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce that was Caligulan in its creativity. They proposed to turn Black Diamond’s death into publicity for their recently opened port.
The Associated Press reported:
“The chamber’s plan was to have the animal’s car switched to the wharves, to tie 30 tons of lead to his feet and to have two tugs drag him into the bay.”
Rejecting that kind offer, the circus folks next considered strangling him with chains pulled in opposite directions by the remaining Barnes elephants. Fine family entertainment.
But it was finally decided that poison was the gentlest way to send Black Diamond into that good night.
A druggist prepared twenty-two one ounce capsules filled with cyanide. Each was inserted into an orange, Black Diamond’s favorite food. He sniffed at them, but refused to cooperate in making them his last meal.
So they next day, his trainer gave him the parade command. He stepped out of his car and was chained between his docile female companions, Babe and Ruth, in order to keep him calm. Followed by most of the population of Kenedy, they trekked out to a pasture on the E. C. Bain place, where a massive grave had been dug.
The big bull was secured to mesquite trees with chains that hardly seemed up to the task.
Hans Nagel, director of the Houston Zoo, was on hand to supervise the killing.
The AP reporter who witnessed it stated:
“The first burst of lead fired into the body of the nine ton pachyderm seemed to puzzle the animal. Another burst made him groggy. He rolled over slowly and took another fusillade in the body.”
106 shots had been fired.
There is some controversy over who fired the 107th, the coup de grace, between Black Diamond’s eyes.
Some sources say it was local undertaker Eugene Eckols. Others say it was zookeeper Nagel.
What is certain is that Nagel had brought with him A. R. Hines, curator and taxidermist of the of the Houston Museum of Natural History. Hines removed head and hide from the departed.
Black Diamond’s mounted head and skull where displayed by that institution for two generations. They are now in a private collection in Corsicana.
Undertaker Eckols made one of Black Diamond’s massive feet into a stool, which is now in the Karnes County Museum.

The local weather had a screenshot of Denver this morning, 8 degrees snow on the ground and a high of 17! NOPE! Not me, they can have that.

BTW – when the kids were little, they cut their political teeth listening to talk radio with me on their way to/from school. We had quite a few discussions on current events in the car. As the kids got older and moved away, I wondered if they’d retain their conservativism or get swallowed by the world’s PC.
I thought that LDIL was liberal, and that my son might be a lost cause, but lately he’s become very vocal about his political views. Thank goodness, he’s stuck to his roots. At the surprise party, his in-laws and friends were joking about voting for Biden, and Handsome Son told them “you can leave right now”. He’s been calling me to talk about the election. He called me after the last debate. He’s grateful for the links to Fr. Altman that I’ve sent him. He voted early, and voted Trump.
The boy makes me proud.

Somewhere around 2002/3 my boss invented a digital keyless ignition system designed for construction equipment, rental houses and equipment owners. It’s not fully completed but it also can be coupled with GPS and telematics.
A couple years ago a new rental company came along and began having a system on their units which looks a little different but works identical. Boss has a patent on it but he does not have the resources to fight the giants, so nothing was done about it. Somehow he and Don Ahern of Ahern Rentals got hooked up and Ahern is buying UKey and the patent and is going to go after Equipment Share. This is an article explaining the lawsuit –

I’d been meaning to ask you about that system and how it was going. -
#20 Shannon
The system is proven to be durable and trouble free, we have customers that have been using it from the beginning. For a variety of reasons he never got the jackpot he always dreamed of but there is a bunch of them out there. Some reason they are popular in Dallas, we have two rental companies up there putting them on their equipment.
I don’t know how this sale will work out or how long before a payout. He may make his millions yet.
-
Funny thing is, we have a bunch of EquipmentShare units in our shop for repair – we do heavy repair/overload work for most of the rent houses around town. He told them last week we can’t take in anymore of their work and we are completing what we have as fast as we can. So, this is costing me service work lol.

One of our past neighbors supposedly created the “cop lock” barrier lock, and one of his friends basically stole the patent out from under him. Neighbor never got to make any money on his invention.
Also, my maternal grandpa was an engineer, and I was told he invented some kind of baling machine. Same story.
-
Sums up what the totalitariancrat party has to offer.
And I looked, and behold, a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.
-
and I was told he invented some kind of baling machine
Round or “square”? 😉
-
and I was told he invented some kind of baling machine
Round or “square”?
Round, big square, or “traditional” small square?
-
While we’re at it, back in the 1920s, our great-grandfather, Curtis Alexander, invented a horse-drawn stalk cutter for row crops that he built and sold all over South Texas from his shop in Robstown. He adapted them for tractors, too. People encouraged him to patent his implement, but he never got around to it and I think New Holland stole the idea, got a patent and mass marketed a copy.
-
Grandpa was always a square kind of guy.
-
I just re-listened to Fr. Altman’s video. That last line about being with the goats really gets me.
I may get someone’s goat. I never want to be a goat. Especially at judgment.
-
There was another story I heard about grandpa. Much of my mom’s family were involved in settling, or settling in, the New Braunfels area. My aunt and her family actually found some chapels that were built by my ancestors in the area; now in ruin.
The story is that grandpa was going to the barn at night, and was holding his candle lantern ahead of him. There was a skunk in the barn, and when grandpa startled it, it sprayed at him. Grandpa instinctively stuck his lantern in the spray and it caught fire and burned out before it reached him. I’m sure that skunk was alarmed at the sudden flame at its butt.

Unlike some of y’all, my Great Uncle was a prodigious inventor, but he gave up too early and died penniless. He invented 6 Up, Motel 5, and WD39….

George P. Bush to run against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in 2022 Republican Primary.
(Instead of against Lt. Gov. Patrick) -
Fontrell Antonio Baines, who raps under the name Nuke Bizzle, “boasted in a YouTube music video about getting rich from committing unemployment benefits fraud,” the DOJ said Friday in a press release. He was arrested on Friday “pursuant to a criminal complaint alleging a scheme to fraudulently obtain unemployment insurance benefits under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.”
Baines and several co-conspirators reportedly utilized fake addresses to obtain pre-loaded benefit cards, with which they were able to access over $700,000 in cash.
In one music video, Baines reportedly bragged about “go[ing] to the bank with a stack of” unemployment cards. He is facing a maximum of 22 years in prison related to the charges.
Government is stupid. How can it be this easy to defraud the US government of $700,000 ? Washington DC must be leaking money like a seive. If morons like this can do it, just think what really intelligent people are able to do.

That’s funny right there! 😀

The boy and his bride are at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe you can see Fannette Island behind them, I think that I know exactly where this picture was taken.

I remember Fannette Island from back at Fort Sill! How’s the old gal doing? Does she still have that pet boa constrictor? Fun times I tell ya. Fuuunnnnnn times.

I watched this guy play the blues on some 3 strings contraption and it was amazing. I have never seen a guitar that looks like this. The guy has so much talent, he could make almost anything sound good.
-
Texas Tribune has a Ross Ramsey piece about the possibility of a 75-75 tie in the Texas House if the Dems pick up eight seats. It’s never happened before.
The race for Speaker would get very interesting at that point.
-
When she & rat-boy gonna lock us back down, now that we’re seeing a resurgence?
I’ve been looking for this illusive surge thats supposedly taking place. The positivity rate has creeped up to 7.4% but that’s only because fewers tests are being performed. The number of positive tests has been going down.
-
44. That’s a sweet sounding guitar. Not so sweet price at $5000. Here’s the same guy playing Purple Rain on it.

I went outside mid-morning to put out bird seed, and while I was scattering it around on the patio, I noticed a small flock of pigeons had spotted me. They began to fly in their big swooping coordinated circles, not far above the treetop level. When I see that, I start waving them in, so they won’t forget where they saw the seeds. They didn’t come down right away, so I went inside. By the time I had the plastic containers put away and got around to the patio window, they were all on the seeds and pecking away, about 20 of them. Next time I looked out, the birds were gone and they had consumed every seed that was larger than a B-B. Some squirrels were there, looking disappointed, so I took out 2 scoops of the Wild Mix that has corn kernels and peanuts in the shell for them.

So the helpful people at Office Depot just sent me a discount coupon for a Shaquille O’Neal Executive Seating office chair. This is great news as I was wondering what the proper spelling of Shaquille was AND every time I think of Shaq, the first thing that comes into mind is “Boy Howdy, I’d really like to sit in a chair that he would, where can I get one?”
They’ve got multi way adjustable arm rests in case you need a reason to buy one.
-
I went on a tour of
ReliantNRG Stadium. They brought us to the room where they hold press conferences, etc.The odd thing was the chairs were really really wide. Turned out they also use that room for team meetings and game film watching.

George P. Bush to run against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in 2022 Republican Primary.
Stay outta duh Bushes.
-
A Paxton in the capital is worth 10 of the Bushes.
-
We need someone a lot better than Jerry Patterson to pick him off in the Primary. He spanked Jerry 58-29% last time.
But I think he’ll have to resign to run for AG.
-
Maybe we can get Sen. Kolkhorst to run against him.
But I’m saving her for Lt. Governor for when Patrick rides off into the sunset.
-
Turn on C-Span if you want to be able to tell your grandchildren you were there when the historic vote to seat Justice Amy Coney Barrett took place.
Any minute now.
-
Debate is over. McConnell is speaking now.
-
For heaven’s sake, shut up Mitch and vote.
-
-
Vote is 52 for and 43 against right now. Random dems seem to trickle in periodically to place votes.
Whatever happened to having everyone in the room the entire time?
-
Still have a couple stragglers to go roust out of a bar somewhere.

It’s now official.

ACB is in after 4 or 5 senators staggered into the chamber. The request for roll call to certify a quorum was another unnecessary stalling stunt. Rude, arrogant bastards.
-
I’m surprised the Accidental Senator from Alabama and WV Senator Joe Manchin voted against ACB. Jones probably knows he’s a dead man walking but Manchin has guaranteed a tough race in a few years.
-
4 solid conservatives on the court; Barrett, Alito, Thomas, Kavanaugh; Gorsuch is kind of mushy; the pedophile Roberts is really squishy; Kagan and the wide azzed Latinx are hopelessly leftist and Breyer is a lefty who stumbles into a correct vote on occasion. This bunch, combined with the horde of conservatives appointed by Trump should help to clean up some of the leftist garbage that has been plaguing the USA.
-
66 Hanous
I was surprised too. He might have made a big mistake there. I was kinda figuring Manchin to switch parties after the election.
-
My wife is non stop with what protesting stuff that is left going on and the YouTubers covering them. She’s gonna drive herself crazy…but…she’s listening to one of them, bunch of black ladies singing Happy Birthday to Hillary. Pretty funny.
-
What are the names of Republicans that voted against…..besides Collins?
-
It is now officially JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT. She is giving her acceptance speech after being sworn in by Clarence Thomas.
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF THE USA.
-
Finally found the swearing-in live online.
Trump is absolutely giddy.
-
70. Collins was the only one.
-
WINNING!!!
-
And when the lying, commie, scum-sucking Ds bring frivolous lawsuits challenging the election, ACB will be there applying the written, clear, rule of law to settle the dispute and Donaldus Magnus will get his 2nd term.
Think about the swamp draining that will happen in the next 4 years, particularly considering the EO that is effective the day before inauguration day. Fire the insubordinate miscreants with extreme prejudice! Preferably into the sun.
-
The entire affair wasn’t carried on free television.
Online, the coverage was choppy.
Frustrating.
-
Izzit possible that Man-Chin is not running again? He should be easy to beat this time, as he has demonstrated that when it really counts – he will vote the way Cuck Schemer tells him to.

I’m not as optimistic as BC but, pretty exciting stuff.

I’m not optimistic that the new Court can save the Republic, but it will be nice to have them around until the end. -
#80 Shannon: The new court will make it much more difficult for the scum-sucking, commie, Ds to advance blatantly unconstitutional BS.
-
Congratulations America, hope springs eternal.
-
I saw the tail end of the vote live, and then later looked for the swearing in and watched it too. One of the few happy events this whole wretched year, so far.
-
It’s 9 and 2/3rds o’clock! What the hell am I doing up so late?
-
80 Shannon
I’m not optimistic that the new Court can save the Republic…
Agreed. The Republic can be saved if enough, and not necessarily a majority, of true patriots and believers fight hard enough to save her. The Supremes can’t save the nation by themselves.
-
Yes I know I’m late but Judge Amy Barrett may very well be the most qualified Jurist on the Supreme Court. No bias, No BS, just the facts ma’am. I so much liked her speech where she pointed out that a certain female Senator had every right to pontificate about her “preferences” BUT as a Judge she had to go by the Constitution, not by feelings/preferences. Sadly, one Republican and EVERY Democrat voted against the most qualified candidate to come before the Senate in some time, STRICTLY because of Politics!….. ~SPITS~
-
I’ll say this; Trump may or may not be reelected but 3, yes 3! Supreme Court Justices appointed! He has earned his keep and he may not have saved the Republic but maybe he did manage to hold the mad dawgs off for a few years.
-
It’s 9 and 2/3rds o’clock! What the hell am I doing up so late?
What you talking about Willis? It’s Dayaam late for ole Dave. 😉 …Later,….

While y’all were watching history taking place, I watched The Terminator on Amazon. I’ll have to watch clips of ACB tomorrow.

The only thing that will save our Republic is a mighty change of heart from We the People to the God of Israel. But, yeah, I too am really glad our new court is here for the ride.
