#100 mharper42, Yes, that’s the kitty. Our Purrscilla is marked similarly, spots as well as stripes, but four black feet, only a small white patch under her chin, and a medium gray coat with some light brown/golden fur on her stomach. Their faces are essentially the same with Purrscilla having yellowish/green eyes. And what good company she is although more… Read more »

Below normal but not really unusual. Monday is 32. This time of year anything goes. Heck when i worked in the field you always had clothes for three seasons.
In Billings, Montana, the lowest temperature ever recorded on Oct. 25 was 18° F set in 1997. On Sunday, the high temperature is not expected to get above 18° F with low temps close to 0. I think that is what’s called a shattered record.
Just finished my (rather late) treadmill time. I did some jogging instead of just walking. I didn’t short my two miles today, so I’ll be throwing off some heat for a while. I took a cool shower and have two fans blowing on me to hasten things along so I can sleep tonight.

Adee, is this the pic you referred to as a tiger kitty? This is Lynx, now 4 y.o. and in pix where you see his flanks or tummy from a different angle, his pelt is more spotted than striped. Here’s one when he was 10 months old, napping in the paper recycling crate.
mharper42 inquired about our new kitty Purrscilla several days ago, after she had posted a picture of her tiger kitty. I had mentioned our Purrscilla looks very much like her cat, except she has black feet instead of white, and a much smaller white spot under her chin, but otherwise they could be twins. Ours came from a humane shelter… Read more »

Used to sing a fine version of Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning.
We had a pleasant walk this evening, down to the cul de sac of our road and back, our usual path in the evenings. Sometimes we walk the road to the entrance of our subdivision in the opposite direction for some variety. Windy and cool, currently 69 and falling, with a prediction for about 55 overnight. Finally back to fall… Read more »
Fay says that McSalley is now in a dead heat with Saint Mark Kelley in AZ.
Great. They’ll be trotting out Gabby, who will inform us that Jared Lee Loughner was the founder of the Proud Boys and a white supremacist inspired by the Orange Man kluxer.
It’s been a helluva week and the rodeo hasn’t even started yet. That starts on Monday in the Senate.

We confess at every service. But I’m afraid that Fay is going to have to convert so that she can go to an Official Confession. Why? Because of the things she keeps saying about MJ Hegar every time one of those ads comes on. I have to cover Max’s ears. He’s unaccustomed to Sailor language. More recently she has been… Read more »
Flarada man appears to be hiding out until after the election or something. I think that after the Jeffrey Tubein incident he may have given up trying to compete with something like that.
Armadillo football starting soon. Also the World Series. I’m probably the only person in the world who will be watching Armadillo football one my computer with one eye and the World Series on TV with the other eye.

Good late afternoon Hamsters. The warning about the approaching frontal passage storm came here for Richmond about 2:45 on the radio news. No rain other than tons of leaves and acorns blown off trees under some dark clouds lasting maybe 20 minutes. So its passage managed to sweep lots of leaves off the driveway and the sidewalk to the house… Read more »

Storms don’t have to deal with rush hours I guess. Inside of two hours went from Magnolia to League City.
That line of showers is disintegrating before it gets to Houston.
It must have disintegrated after it got past me, then. I barely got my kayak out of the water and onto the trailer and was strapping it down when I got soaked.
The CDC, prior to changing its position on universal mask-wearing, had previously cited 10 randomized controlled trials that showed “no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks.” Now, the CDC and other elite institutions would have us believe that coronavirus is somehow different.
there were sounds from outside that I couldn’t identify.
Yup, it was strong enough to blow a shower of pecans on my metal roof. Quite a noise.

We were planning a Luby’s supper tonight with the next-door neighbors, with me taking the orders and going to pick them up down on 34th Street. But I looked at the current forecast and chickened out. The leading edge of the front scared me, there were sounds from outside that I couldn’t identify. But I think they were bits and pieces of tree debris hitting the north side of the house. I could hear thunder getting closer, and rain that seemed to be thrown at the windows.
The front blew through here about 5 minutes ago. Thunder but no rain so far. Blew more limbs down than all this year’s hurricanes combined. And I wasn’t even warned to hunker.
The front is about to blow through here at the Dome. This is the kind of weather for which I asked my husband to build me a large porch. I am making myself a hot beverage, and I’m about to park myself on my new glider, and thoroughly enjoy the wind and the weather.

After five years, I finally put a new deck on my John Deere rider, victim of wife/stump combo. We’ve been mowing with the tractor which does a fine job but it doesn’t mulch. Yep, the “front” looked exciting but was quite a dud. Not worth the porch time I gave it.
I did pick up a few pecans, though. Our crop this year is small, so even after all the wind we had, it didn’t take long.
Update lll
Not much cool air behind that thunder storm.
As predicted.
It must have disintegrated after it got past me, then. I barely got my kayak out of the water and onto the trailer and was strapping it down when I got soaked.
