Little Wolf

The following is from Charles Alexander Eastman whose given name as a Dakota Indian was Ohiyesa.  He lived from 1858 to 1939, graduated from Boston Medical School in 1890 and became a practicing physician.

If any people ever fought for liberty and justice, it was the Cheyenne. If any ever demonstrated their physical and moral courage beyond cavil, it was this race of purely American heroes, among whom Little Wolf was a leader.

I knew the chief personally very well. As a young doctor, I was sent to the Pine Ridge agency in 1890, as a government physician to the Sioux and the Northern Cheyenne. While I heard from his own lips of that gallant dash of his people from their southern exile to their northern home, I prefer that Americans should read of it in Doctor George Bird Grinnell’s book, “The Fighting Cheyennes.” No account could be clearer or simpler; and then too, the author cannot be charged with a bias in favor of his own race.

At the time that I knew him, Little Wolf was a handsome man, with the native dignity and gentleness, musical voice, and pleasant address of so many brave leaders of his people. One day when he was dining with us at our home on the reservation, I asked him, as I had a habit of doing, for some reminiscences of his early life.  He was rather reluctant to speak, but a friend who was present contributed the following…

El Gordo closed out the evening with this gem and it is worth the repeat, again.

When you have miscreants intentionally blocking traffic because they “have a cause”, I think what happened above is the base level of counter protest. Escalations of counter protest are perfectly warranted. If you don’t want to catch a brick with your head, then stay out of the damned street and stop blocking traffic.

Well, it is a beautimous day here, 48, up from 38 at daylight, bright and sunny. The rain finally stopped last night and we got right at 4″ Wednesday-Thursday. The little pond has been at capacity for a month and now the big pond is full to the spillway. The wife noticed that the little branch behind the barn was running on Wednesday, first time in years. Growing up, it usually had water about 9 months out of the year but in the last 30+ years it stays dry most all the time.

Sometimes, I get some really great stories and/or heartwarming information from some of the followers of this page. FB fan Cody Colton read the Hydra-Matic plant fire story and shared this image and breif story:

“This is my dad, Rick Colter. One of the last ever GM firemen ever. He worked at the willow run Hydra-matic plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He retired in 2008 with 30 years after hiring in at 18. Here he is with a GMC Pump truck. He loved that truck, and wanted to buy it, but GM auctioned it off. Before he was a fireman, he also spent many years working the repair line for the 400 trans, and he was also a machine repair man.
My dad passed away in 2017 from cancer.

He was a great guy, and a great part of GM history.”

Thanks for sharing your dad’s picture and his history as a GM Firefighter.

This article first appeared in 2016. This is the first I have heard of it and you can be sure that I will keep my eyes open.

HEADLINE: Revealed: The symbols that pedophiles use to signal their sordid sexual preferences on social media

The above was just one link contained in this article:

I saw that first article when it came out (as well as the L&O episode). I had heard of “Q” but didn’t understand exactly who/what Q is.

Some of those symbols sound like Freemasonry to me. Given the timeline mentioned in the article, it sounds like Freemasons may be involved in the evil mentioned.

I saw a Dr. Marshall interview recently where there was a discussion about a Freemason priest who was proudly proclaiming that Freemasonry and Catholicism are not exclusionary. Uh, no. Freemasons take an oath to destroy the Church. I can’t remember how, but I believe the Pope is involved -if for no other reason, he’s allowing this priest to remain frocked.

The first bead on my rosary is supposed to be for the Pope’s intentions. Nope, I pray for the Pope – that he may be truly guided by the Holy Spirit. I can’t pray for his intentions, but I can pray for the Pope. He needs it.

Morning gang. Another crystal clear, crisp morning out here. The grass is not growing yet, but the weeds are making everything nice and green. I got a lot of bluebonnet plants scattered around the yard and out back, which I have been cultivating for the past few years, and they should actually show some progress this year the way it is looking. I’m not mowing, much to the chagrin of my neighbors, until the bonnets are in full bloom, so that I can mow around them. I want them to keep seeding every year and expanding their reach. Bluebonnet seeds are very tough, and I read that it may take 2 years for the seed coat to soften enough to permit them to germinate, but so far the annual progress is certainly noticeable.

In other news, not much happening. I was reading about the Warren staffers who are all tearful and setting up go fund me accounts since they no longer have jobs or money. Hey, the knew she was a liar when they went to work for her. Same as the coaches at Rice – they know the AD is not trustworthy when they sign on.

OK, you all have a great day. I’ve declared spring to be here already, as measured by the mesquites. But as I’ve said before, the mesquites are not nearly as smart as the pecans, and the pecans are not budding out yet. More later.

I find it outrageous that this is even required to pass as legislation, what is particularly offending, though not surprising is that 174 Ds voted to block the amendment.

Let me just say this about the spread of the coronavirus. The press is hyping the story that this disease is spreading like wildfire, with breathless new cases announced daily. The fact is that until the past few days, there were no reliable testing kits available. Those kits are now available. So, as the result of testing those who had not been previously tested, they are discovering new cases. This does not mean the new cases are spreading like wildfire – it means that they are only discovering these cases. It will take several weeks to determine what direction the trend line is moving. Meanwhile, my personal advice is to just avoid people, airplanes, cruise ships, Rice University, licking doorknobs, public restrooms, and the like. Wrap your pets, bring in your pipes, and hunker down. Buy batteries and water from Amazon – Amazon will deliver and you do not have to go out to a Walmart. I’m sure other suggestions will pop up here and there.

When the vomitus slimeball, Schumer, made these comments a wider view (which I don’t have just yet) showed posters claiming (ridiculously) that “Access to Abortion is a Catholic value” or something to that effect. Uh, no, abortion is NOT a Catholic value.
I was struck by that because of the sheer lunacy involved and it reminded me of the numerous times that the JugEared Jacka$$ stated “that’s not who we are” implying that only knuckle dragging, toothless, hillbillies would object to whatever the subject was. How many people actually bought into the “that’s not who we are” BS?

I don’t think the Masons are evil. My grandfather was a Mason.

I take their word for it that they are not a religion.

But they dance closely enough around the edges to give pause to a serious Christian.

If a Christian man has a hankering to be part of a fraternal service organization, I strongly suggest they seek out the opportunities within their own church body.

I just got back from Kroger, and realized I didn’t go by the hand sanitizer or cough syrup aisles, to see if they were low or bare. I took a quick look at the Kroger website while I was making my short list this morning, and they had the following notice up:

Due to high demand and to support all customers, we will be limiting the number of Sanitization, Cold and Flu related products to 5 each per order. Your order may be modified at time of pickup or delivery.

I never have and don’t plan to ever order my groceries online, but seems like they could have the software refuse to let them select 500 bottles of hand sanitizer, only to find out at delivery time that they aren’t getting all that.

The Design of the American Dollar Bill

The first committee formed to create a design included John Adams (not a Mason), Thomas Jefferson (not a Mason) and Ben Franklin, who was a MasonTheir recommendations were rejected by the Congress.

We know of one connection between ancient Egypt and the origins of American paper money: the pyramid on the reverse of the Great Seal. However, if Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson had had their way, the Great Seal of the United States might have featured an Egyptian pharaoh. Our notes might also have featured not the proud eagle but an entirely different bird.

The seal that Franklin and Jefferson advocated symbolized an Egyptian pharaoh sitting in an open chariot with a crown on his head and a sword in his hand, passing through the divided waters of the Red Sea in pursuit of the Israelites. The motto they favored was “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.” In fact, Jefferson so strongly supported this idea that he used it on his own personal seal.

In addition, Franklin was very much in favor of using the turkey as America’s national bird. He expressed this choice ardently to his daughter in a letter, explaining that the eagle is “a bird of bad moral character.” Franklin noted that the turkey, on the other hand, is a “more respectable bird and…a true original native of America.”

Their ideas for symbols did not include a pyramid and an “All Seeing Eye”.  Franklin wanted a turkey instead of an eagle.  Jefferson wanted a pharaoh, a chariot and the Red Sea on the reverse side of the seal from the bird.

Eventually, Charles Thomson (not a Mason), prominent Philadelphia businessman and Secretary of the Continental Congress took the rejected recommendations of three different committees over six years and composed the American currency as we know it today.  Thomson was the one who came up with the unfinished pyramid.

The reverse of the Great Seal features an unfinished pyramid, which Thomson states signifies “strength and duration.” The pyramid is composed of 13 rows of building blocks, on the first of which are the Roman numerals representing 1776. The Latin inscription “Novus Ordo Seclorum” translates to “A New Order of the Ages.” Thomson explains that this refers to the new form of government. Influenced by the poetry of Virgil, he composed this motto himself, writing that it signified “the beginning of the new American Era.” At the top of the pyramid is an eye, with rays that emanate in all directions. Above the eye, the Latin motto “Annuit Coeptis” translates to “Providence Has Favored Our Undertakings,” which Thomson explains “alludes to the many signal interpositions of providence in favor of the American cause.”

There is no image or symbol on earth that can’t be traced by somebody to sinister, dark conspiratorial motives and meanings.  Personally, I find it a great waste of time.  Read the history.

    *****************************************

On another note, Charles Thomson somehow found the time to translate the Greek Bible from Latin to English and published the first English language New & Old Testament Bible in America.  It took him 19 years to do it.

Charles Thomson’s Translation of the Septuagint is a direct translation of the Greek Septuagint version of the Old Testament into English, rare for its time. The work took 19 years to complete and was originally published in 1808. Thomson is credited with having created the work with little to no help from other scholars. Charles Thomson was a Greek scholar, and before the American Revolution, had been a teacher at several prominent schools. Thomson’s translation of the entire Greek Bible, excluding the Apocrypha, was published in one-thousand sets of four volumes each, the fourth volume being Thomson’s translation of the New Testament in that same year. The printer was Jane Aitken of Philadelphia.

The roots of the hostility of Roman Catholics for Freemasonry goes all the way back to Oliver Cromwell and his genocidal campaigns against the Irish and the Catholics in England.  He was a nasty, brutal ruler who was falsely accused of founding Freemasonry ergo Masons are dedicated to the eradication of Catholicism.  The old rumors and tales are wild and  outlandish.  The history of Cromwell’s brutality and bloodletting toward Catholics is not.  Oliver Cromwell died in 1648, but was somehow supposed to have created a secret society with origins reaching back hundreds of years before his birth.

Today, I went to download it on another computer and found a post at C-Net saying the old free 2016 Microsoft download page was still working.  So far, it’s downloaded and is now doing updates.  If it works, I saved $139 and it is a genuine, fully supported OEM version and not one of the bootleg versions out there.  I’ll post the link later in case you know anybody that might need it.  There are a lot of people paying the big bucks to MS and don’t need to.

The gloves are off between Dan Patrick and George P. Bush.

Yet the political battle may trace back to Bush’s decision to spread rumors that he may challenge Patrick in the 2022 lieutenant governor race. Lieutenant governor is the most powerful position in the Texas government when the legislature is in session because it controls the state Senate’s agenda. While the legislature is not scheduled to meet again until January 2021, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) may call the legislature into a special session to deal with this issue, which would humiliate Bush.

Now, get this, Markos Moulitsas left the Daily Kos, which made him famous, to startup the SB Nation websites that are now part of Vox Media.  Now the Daily Kos Kids are all upset because he was telling the truth about Bernie Sanders and to top it all off, the only Democratic candidate running to show up at their once influential Netroots Nation convention was Elizabeth Warren.

So here we are, on the premiere Democratic website, Markos Moulitsas’s brainchild — and here is Markos himself, subverting the site by denigrating a leading member of the Democratic caucus — using the same type of bogus talking points conservatives use to dismiss the accomplishments of people on our side of the aisle…like how Sarah Palin tried to diminish Barack Obama’s credentials by mocking his experience as a community organizer.  Markos writes:

“Bernie Sanders has never, never, never, never, ever in his life worked to rally and build support for any policy proposals. That’s why his legislative career is bereft of any accomplishments. Getting sh*t passed means compromise and dealing and conceding and convincing—and none  of these things that he has ever bothered to work on.”
