CANDIDATE PERCENT VOTES Tommy Tuberville
32.2% 235,461 Jeff Sessions
31.1% 227,492 Bradley Byrne
26.8% 195,450 Roy Moore
7.0% 50,988 I guess the people of Alabama have had enough of Roy Moore and maybe Sessions, too.

If Biden were to be elected president, we would never know who is actually running this country and making the decisions in the White House.
-
#2 Texpat, sadly, I voted for Sessions, he was my only choice. And, yes, I see Phil’s head asploding. I really wanted new blood but the main contenders were career politicians and/or outright liars. Tommy Tuberville is all for illegal immigration and a pathway to citizenship. He said we should help them find jobs?! He said this way before running for office and now has changed his mind,…well NO! Bradley Byrne is a career politician and never Trumper that has changed his tune just for the election. Before Sessions left the Senate he was the best Senator on the Hill, bar none, he never waivered on immigration. After he recused himself, I was less than pleased and pretty much wrote him off. But given that the primary was shaping up as it did, I had no choice but vote for him.
Call me stupid, but I have to live here. There will be a run-off and I don’t know how that will turn out but since Tuberville is some sort of Auburn coach, he’ll likely win. -
#5 Oh and I was real glad to see Judge Moore finish poorly.

RE: #4
Here’s a scary thought. Joe Biden drafts Michelle Obama to be his VP. It was Barack’s plan all along.
This also begs the question: Why was Michelle Obama seen having lunch in D.C. with Hunter Biden’s ex-wife a couple of weeks ago ? Is there some bizarre, backstory blackmail scam going here ? What a great conspiracy theory !
-
From yesterday;
I remember those. Several friends in my group or in my neighbor’s group from another high school had access to one of those. Got to ride in one and of course see a demonstration of stowing the roof in the trunk and vice versa. It was a very clever design and of course more expensive than a regular convertible. Main problem was it took up most of the trunk space, though there was some room around it. Wonder if some daring car company will try to produce a modern version of one.
Mercedes has been doing it for years, of course, it is a two seater.
The top stows at about the 2:30 mark. -
My #8, my 69 Vette had a rag top that stored under the bonnet, but it really didn’t have a trunk anyway.

Things are certainly icy between Don and Jeff.
“This is what happens to someone who loyally gets appointed Attorney General of the United States & then doesn’t have the wisdom or courage to stare down & end the phony Russia Witch Hunt,” Trump tweeted, just hours after news broke that Tuesday’s Senate primary in Alabama would advance to a runoff between Sessions and former football coach Tommy Tuberville.
“Recuses himself on FIRST DAY in office, and the Mueller Scam begins!” Trump added.

You have your “First Lady” and then you have,…..well,…Mama Cass?

Joe Bidet was selected to be VP for two reasons:
1) He was assassination insurance. Anybody who was disgusted with JugEars enough to want him to assume room temperature, would not want Bidet as the replacement.
2) Impeachment insurance. John Boehner said as much when the subject of impeachment came up during JugEars first term. Both of these are also fraught with the disaster of having all of the JugEars appointed miscreants still in place. The evil slimeballs pulling all the strings are mostly still there; perhaps Trump will fumigate the place and drain the swamp.
/not holding my breath.

My friend Keith Nielsen won his election. Paul Simpson is out.
Let’s see what happens next. I’m sure there’s a lot of embedded swamp rats right here in Harris County to deal with.
-
I think I have a new pet name for Biden.
The Dementia Democrat.The Dementiacrat.
So much easier to say.
Than “president”.
-
Paul Simpson was the Harris County Republican Party Chairman who LOST EVERY SINGLE RACE to the Ds last election, right? I believe that I would have resigned in disgrace and slinked away to hide if I had failed that badly.
He may be a nice guy and a genuine conservative and all, but as a party chairman – whose job is to win local offices for the Rs – he kind of sucks.
-
#15 – Hey, the Rice Athletic Director is always looking for losers like that Simpson guy. Call and ask for Joe.
Morning gang. Still trying to wrap my head around all the results from last night. I shudda voted for Bernie, but I thought he had it in the bag. I’m just wondering if the last minute shift of personnel on the Dem ticket had that much impact. SS is turning out to be the Iowa of elections since they can’t count ballots it looks like. More later as I wake up and analyze. Have a great day. Oh, BTW, some rain here too.

HEADLINE: The dark secrets of the Animas River
[sub head]
A 2015 spill that turned the waterway orange is a reminder of mining’s disastrous legacy. This is a longish article about the tainted history of the Animas River. It has been a mining/chemical dumping ground for a hundred years and has never been “pristine” since. The last big disaster, under the feckless JugEars admin in 2015, was another layer of poison for that river which will never likely be cleansed.

The New York Midget is out! That is all…….

So, as I understand it, the DNC took out Buttplug and Aimless, pledging their support to Biden, but left Pokehauntaus alone to continue to siphon votes from Bernie. And it worked. And now Daddy Warbucks is behind Biden too. So their plan to get rid of Bernie may work after all, avoiding that embarrassing convention confrontation. Now that may happen anyway, but if Biden has the delegates, it will just look like sour grapes rather than an outright royal screwing. It’s just hard to go against the establishment – just ask Trump.

Morning, morning, morning, Couch Critters! Glad to see my little vet-trip kitty is acting normal this morning. I was afraid she’d be in hiding again when I got up.

#5 – I’m fully understanding the Sessions vote. Were I in your shoes, I would probably vote the same way. Sessions was an excellent Senator or years, and one of the first to come out in support of Trump for President. But, he got in over his head almost immediately as AG. He expected his friends of many years in the Senate to continue their gentlemanly and collegial ways and was not prepared for the attacks. He should have told the President at that time that he was unable to serve due to conflicts, or resigned immediately when the issues came forward. He was also unprepared for the Deep Staters in the AG office to undermine him from day one. In other words, he was not prepared for the job and therefore in over his head. And, being the gentleman that he is, he did not fight back. This is not what Trump needed – he needed a street brawler with brains to fight back against the onslaught. He has every right to be upset with Sessions who sat idly by and watched as the Dems and their allies almost took down his Presidency. So, I think Sessions is washed up politically, but he is not a bad guy. Tommy is a football coach. I would expect him to immediately join up with the establishment and go along to get along. But he’s not Roy Moore or Doug Jones.
#21 – I’m glad kitty is hot holding it against you for that vet trip. Kitty is plotting revenge though, you can count on that.

I don’t think Bernie can defeat Slow Joe and the DNC machine. The Bernie Bros will not likely vote for Biden. Trump can campaign on his real accomplishments for all the minorities while Slow Joe can only spew meaningless word salad promises and lies. Trump will vaporize Slow Joe on any debate stage in spite of any moderator bias.
We all know that the LSM and never Trumpers and Hollyweird are going to go all in to support Biden; the big question is how many people out there are going to look at their personal lives and realize how much better they are now than 4 years ago. . . Will they consider the approach that Trump has taken vs the disaster which Felonia would likely have taken and understand the difference?
Will the people finally open their eyes to the serial lies of the LSM and decide to stop listening?
-
I keep remembering the kitty story from years ago, when I totally freaked out Miss Salem, much to LD’s dismay.
Still crack up laughing over that one…
-
Paul Simpson was the Harris County Republican Party Chairman who LOST EVERY SINGLE RACE to the Ds last election, right?
That’s correct. But, according to LBGJF, that was … wait for it … Trump’s fault!

LBGJF,… Little Big Green Jolly Footballs? Something similar as I remember it. 😉

1912 GMC Trucks Advertisement in “the Horseless Age” magazine on 7/10/12 – 108 years ago.
This GMC Model H may take an expression from Popeye; “I yam what I yam” as the 3.5 ton gasoline powered (remember they offered electric and gasoline both in 1912) truck is loaded with yams from William Spink Company in Philadelphia, who paid $3500 for this state of the art horseless carriage which would be equivalent to $93,000.00 in 2020 money. A substantial investment but not so far off from what a comparable size and capability truck today might cost.

If Liz doesn’t bail today, it’s because she still sees a clear path to the nomination.
Coronavirus.
She self-isolates, scales back public events. The two geezers keep glad-handing. Coronavirus takes out the geezers.
It’s the COVID-19 candidacy.
You heard it here first.

The Deep State Swamp not ready to do the time players are all endorsing the fondler Pixxxa Guy Joe.
Maybe he can rename his private campaign jet the Lolita Express II.

I think Warren will stay in to the end because she desperately wants power and recognition. Where better to find those than in a bargain with the Democratic nominee for president ?
If it comes down to the convention and neither Sanders or Biden have the requisite delegates, Warren believes she can negotiate a Cabinet position from Bernie or Joe.

I don’t know anything about the 22nd District runoff candidates, Kathaleen Wall and Troy Nehls. He is the soon to be former Ft.Bend County sheriff. Wall’s husband has some kind of tech company that lets her spend $6.5 million in her losing primary campaign in 2018.
Nehls – 40.6%
Wall – 19.5%
That’s a lot of ground for Wall to make up in the runoff.
-
But the good news is:
Pierce Bush, 33, a grandson of President George H.W. Bush and a nephew of President George W. Bush, came up short for his bid for Congress.
-
Wall’s commercials were toxic in their ubiquity; in the last 5 or 6 weeks I don’t think I listened to the radio more than 15 minutes without hearing one. If she were running in my district I would have voted against her on that basis alone.
When someone goes to great lengths to tell you what a faithful Christian they are or how honest they are, my experience is that they almost never are what they claim. -
I suspect some monkey business between Joe”The Dip$#!t” Bidet and Nanny Bloomers; I just read over somewhere that all of Bloomers staff is good my to be paid through November and that they will work for Biden.
What are the odds that Biden picks Bloomers to be his VP? Everyone who is not a blinded partisan left wing hack has already acknowledged that Biden has lost mental acuity. Does anyone really think he has the grey matter left to even function as POTUS?
Worst case is that Trump loses in November to a Biden/Bloomer ticket and by July of 2021 Biden has to resign for health reasons leaving Bloomers as unelected POTUS.
I heard that prior to Yesterday, Biden was almost out of cash and with Bloomers backing him, money is no longer an object of concern. -
Biden is gonna show off his grievance industry street cred and pick someone like Stacey Abrams as vp.
-
Trump has already pointed out that if Biden is elected they will put him in a home somewhere and who knows who is actually running things. sort of like Obama – no one knows to this day who was actually pulling the strings.
In other news, biden has a sure fire idea to win: https://babylonbee.com/news/new-law-would-allow-millennials-to-stay-on-their-parents-netflix-account-until-theyre-35

I am proud to report that of all the 254 counties in Texas, the only one that seems to be unable to figure out how to count its votes is my home county of San Saba. That is quite an accomplishment, and it remains to be seen if we can hold out as long as the State of Iowa did in reporting its results.
The courthouse has been undergoing renovations for the past few years, and it seems that once they were able to find the vote counting machine, no one bothered to dust it off and see that it was calibrated and would function properly. And since then, once it was determined that it would not work, they all went home. No one considered the idea of just taking the ballots, sitting a few people down, and counting the votes that was. As of now, there is no prospect of an answer as to when the results might be available. My guess is that there are a bunch of women involved in the chain somewhere.

Vocal opponent of red flag laws in Colorado, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams, has an inmate in his jail who filed a red flag petition against him and his jailers.
Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams has been one of the most vocal critics against red flag laws since Colorado legislators started considering one in 2019.
When he learned an inmate in the Weld County Jail used the law to ask a judge to remove weapons from Reams and a unit in the jail, he was frustrated to see it being abused in the ways against which he warned.

Bernie is going to be Trumps opponent. You heard it here first. I am not betting on Trump being a shoe in.
The American people are split down the middle and at least 2/3rd of them have lost their minds. Bernie and company (All DNC candidates except Tattu Boombust) have had near a year to get the socialist message out. I think there are enough idiots in this country that will say, “hey let’s give it a try what can it hurt etc”. Bourney has had his gaffes but it is still early yet. Look at the # of “R” Obama cross overs there were. I never would have believed that that man could have been elected. And then we had Clinton for two years. That should have never happened yet it did.
US politics is a blender with a bass thrown in. what a friggin mess.

The best thing to do during a pandemic is to let as many unscreened, unvetted and untested for health issues people come across the border illegally, including illegal Chinese aliens mixed in, to lessen the chance of it spreading.
Then when maybe 100K to 200k get sick or get sick and die then you think maybe now woudl be the time.—Nah! Keep it open.
-
Democratic hope—— Enough “R”s get the virus die or get sick enough not to vote and they win,

Democrats love dead voters lets go full circle and run a dead guy for resident. Hey could give Trump a run for the president with the weirdest hair.

I really, truly hope you are wrong, Squawk. Personally, I gave up my political prognosticator’s license in November 2012.

It’s cooled down a little bit up here.

I think it’s official now. San Saba has replaced Broward Co. Florida as the most incompetent vote tabulator in the country. way to go SS, that was a tall mountain to climb.

Texpat
#53 Man it is just things and people are soooo stupid now. I like Trump but he represents a huge swing to the right that we needed by the way. Unlike some other folks I have NEVER trusted the American population to do the “right” thing. Trump is an aberration, things are good and it is at that point where people get stupid. You want to know who I want to slap?
These idiots that even admit things are good, but they just can’t stand Trump because of his tweets. It is all about personality and these idiots would vote for anyone but Trump even though they voted “R” pver the past 5 elections. Why Texpat don’t yanno that is just so unpresidential and stuff? I want to just step on their tentacles with golf spikes it makes me so angry. There is a group in the religous right I cannot abide. They want to be all moralizing over Trumps past “sins” and how Christians allowed this to happen. Okay but did they happen to notice what the alternative was and there was a pant load of us during the primaries for the past 40 years have never picked a winner till the general election? Trump is an unexpected blessing. I’ll “rant off” now.
I am going to vote and I am going to vote for Trump all the while thanking him who ultimately controls who is in power. And then I am going to take my camera and enjoy God’s creation cause this junk makes me sick.
-
Biden winning in places where no one expected him to win tells me that Bernie wouldn’t have a chance in hell in the general.
-
There is a lot of time between now and then. I think we have seen Bernies October surprise. I think he can survive. My opinion

I haven’t mentioned it, but it’s been raining all day here, we have a little over 2 inches since 4 AM. Daughter just called and said that they got 3″ of rain in Midland today! It, of course flooded the streets and she’s sending pictures.

58. I think there’s a better than 50% chance he can win the primary. He just ain’t gonna win in November.

Apparently the SS County Judge has decided to step out from behind the curtain and take charge of this vote tabulation fiasco, promising to announce the results tonight, maybe late tonight , but tonight. Why, it’s almost like waiting for election results two nights in a row. Keeping in mind that this has taken 2 days now, we are starting to see some preliminary information. It appears that there were somewhere around 140 Democrat votes casts county wide – one report says 14, another 142, but hey, close enough for government work I suppose. On the Republican side, that’s where the counting gets difficult. If you add up all the Trump votes, you get around 1150, and if you add up all the Republican votes, you get around 1150. Now it never occurred to anyone I guess, that if the optical reader would not work, a couple of election clerks could sit down, rifle through the ballots, and after some figuring, come up with the results by hand. In fact, given the time frame we are talking about, they could have probably done it about 8 times, including time for lunch and morning and afternoon breaks. But I guess that’s asking a little too much for graduates of SS High School who were schooled in Common Core math. Oh well, maybe we’ll get some results before the night is over – doubtful that anyone will know for sure what the actual totals are, but they’ll put something out there.
-
Well, SS Co finally posted some numbers up on the Sec of State’s election returns board. My best guess is that the Co. Judge got a phone call from either the Sec of State, or more likely from Gov. Abbott, and was told to get his azz over there to the County Clerk’s office and straighten out this mess post haste. That’s just my best guess. As you might guess, the Co. Clerk is a female who has held the office for quite a while and is well liked by people in town, and that’s how you get and keep a position in small towns. Nothing is based on competence or merit. But anyway, my pick for Sheriff won, which the Dems did not put up a candidate, so he’s in at the general unopposed. Anyway, things are looking ok for now – so far so good.
-
My PS that I was writing to the above just disappeared in a poof of ethernet gas, so I’ll try again. My next door neighbor Eddie passed away last night, so I spoke with his wife today to let her know that I have a couple of spare bedrooms if needed by family as they gather. She seemed appreciative. Eddie owned and operated a small town grocery store (we don’t have any chain grocers in town) and was well respected by the community. He let a lot of people have accounts that he knew he shouldn’t have, and even more that he fed out the back door, but that’s the way they still do things in a small town. He had an aortic valve replacement a few months ago, and once he returned, he had stopped eating and was nothing but skin covered bones. You could tell he was dying, but he was into his mid 80’s, so I guess his time was up. We never know when our time is up. Anyway, just another side of small town living. More later.
