Y’all see the arrival of Air Force One today at Daytona today? Friggin awesome it was.
Yup, I did something that I’ve not done in years I
watchedtried to watch a NASCAR Race, but as far as I know it was rained out.
I watched mainly to see the President and I really, enjoyed the opening ceremonies. If you could watch that and not get a lump in your throat, there is something wrong with you. Daughter and the boy both texted about it and the fans loved having Trump there. I switched over to the parallel universe a couple of times, hoping to see their collective heads Asploding, but they were busy bad-mouthing little, Doomberg, what’s up with that? I’ll tune into those two screechy old ladies on PMSNBC in a few minutes and get their take on the President’s visit and I’m sure that it was just a stupid Publicity Stunt. -

Morning, y’all. Up early, got an appointment to be at our HOA pool at 9 a.m. Plenty of days, I’m still snug and warm under the covers at 9 a.m. But we are having the pool replastered, and most board members can’t be at the pool on a weekday. Yeah, I know it’s a federal holiday. Any of you Couch Critters have the day off?

Lawprof Glenn Reynolds reacted to the following column by Holman Jenkins at the Wall Street Journal like this:
“Well, given that the GOP establishment backed losers for money for decades, why not give the Dems their chance to cash in on defeat?”
If one news outlet had the manpower and mind-set to dig cynically into the many ways Mike Bloomberg is spending his money to become president, it would be Bloomberg News—if it weren’t owned by Mike Bloomberg.
Bloomberg News has always been a follow-the-money kind of news organization. It never needed a common-man theme to justify it. Mr. Bloomberg’s giant spending isn’t just buying ads, it’s driving up ad rates to make it harder for other Democratic candidates to get their messages out, it’s buying up campaign talent so they can’t, it’s corralling Democratic Party influentials to endorse his candidacy or at least mute any noisy criticism of his effort.
When a recording leaked of Mr. Bloomberg defending stop-and-frisk in New York, Andre Fields of the liberal voting-rights group Fair Fight Action rushed out a tweet hitting him as a “true terrorist” but promptly deleted it. Fair Fight Action had received $5 million in funding from Mr. Bloomberg. Three members of the Congressional Black Caucus helped out with timely endorsements of a man who spent at least $90 million on House Democratic races in the last 19 months.
New York Times columnist Tom Friedman on Wednesday joined in with 1,500 words implying that other Democratic candidates should make way for Mr. Bloomberg. He ended his piece with a disclosure that his wife’s charity was supported with Bloomberg donations. . . .
I wouldn’t put it the way his left-wing critics do—that he’s trying to buy the nomination or the presidency. He’s trying to buy the Democratic Party elite. He’s distorting the incentives of activists, officials and campaign fixers who suddenly are thinking less about a presidential victory and more about the Bloomberg gravy train.
It’s behind the paywall and it’s not supported on outline.com either so probably you’ll have to read it on your phone if you don’t subscribe.

What is this “day off” thing you talk about ?
Hummm,… let’s see, how do I ‘Splain this? Naw, not fair. 😉

Nobody writes about subjects like Salena Zito does and that’s why I follow her.
The ultimate proto-anarchist cultural phenomena, Rage Against the Machine, has regrouped and decided to tour during this turbulent election year, but, wait, what happened ?
At venues such as the Target Center, Capital One Arena, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (are you getting a corporate vibe?), the cheapest nosebleed tickets will run you at least $125, plus fees to whatever corporation is selling the tickets. At some venues, such as the NMSU Pan American Center in New Mexico, a standing room-only floor ticket will cost you $750, plus a whopping $121.30 in pesky Ticketmaster fees.
resulting in this,
It also fuels a distrust that already exists in our culture and politics that these entertainers or politicians or bureaucrats really don’t have the people’s back and will eventually sell out for their own benefit.
“It certainly is hypocritical; now, only the affluent can see them, and they’ve made it hard for people who can’t afford to see them, irrationally spending more than they can afford,” said Brabender.
The ticket prices are an example of losing your authenticity. It makes people wonder who the band really is. Did they ever really stand for anything? Was it all just an act? It makes Rage Against the Machine no different from a politician — say, Michael Bloomberg, who has decided to work with and pay “social media influencers” to post memes to make Bloomberg look witty and discerning.
If our present culture and politics have taught us anything in the past few years, the one thing people gravitate toward is authenticity, even if it breaks orthodoxies. Think of President Trump for Republicans or Ocasio-Cortez for Democrats. Love them or hate them, the only thing that would sink them is if they became part of the swamp.
Think about the fact the two leading contenders for president of the United States, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, are not really members of their respective political machines. Trump came from the private sector having fraternized with Democrats and Republicans while alternately registering with both. Sanders has always been an Independent. Ocasio Cortez may be both ignorant and nuts, but she is clever enough to play outside the Democratic Party game and attracts a following with that act.
The whole political pageant right now is performing beyond historical party lines and both major parties are “leading from behind”.

I fergot that today was a holiday. I can always make my bank deposits in the after hours drop when I’m in the area later this evening. Hubby is a bit of control freak and doesn’t like doing that, but I’ve never had a problem with it.

Think about the fact the two leading contenders for president of the United States, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, are not really members of their respective political machines.
Yes, oddly enough, Bernie is the “Trump” of the Democrat Party and the nut balls DO NOT understand this or why it is that way. Just like they refuse to understand trump, the same with Bernie.
When I was 4 or 5, I used to watch cartoons for laughs, now I just tune into one of the alphabet networks. Case in point; Nutwork #1 a guy was twisting himself up into a pretzel trying to explain just how BootyJugs won the Iowa caucus, fortunately for him, the newschick just nodded her head in agreement, with this obviously, scholarly, gentleman. Nutwork #2 Old Battle Axe, Martha Raddatz is interviewing Tom Steyer and asks him about an ABC Poll that shows 71% of people think that the economy is good and what message does he have to overcome that. Then, the stupid clown, tried to tell her that he’d explain just why that they’re stupid. He, of course, didn’t say exactly that but it was what he was inferring. To her credit, she didn’t let him off the hook, saying I’m not saying this, I’m just reporting a Poll……BAWHAHAHA!!
Meanwhile, Little Doomberg is falling all over him self, first apologizing for being a racist, bigot, homophobe and then denying it!…You can’t make this stuff up. -
she said I have been off for years. So yup I must have the day off.
She must of been discussing this my wife,…… 😀

Morning gang. A bit lat posting this morning, but I’m still here in Big D doing basically nothing. We watched Patton on the Blu-Ray last night, and I had forgotten what a good movie that was. We watched blazing Saddles the night before and I fully expected the thought police to come crashing through the front door before it was over.
Nothing else to report on so far this morning. I’m planning on hearing that each of you had a great day once it is about over with. More later.

RE: Dr. Kelly Brogan
I’m no fan of statins although I realize there are people with metabolisms that produce extraordinary levels of plaque in the circulatory system and, so far, the only remedy to help keep them alive are the statin drugs. Her Highness is, unfortunately, one of them, hence my more than casual interest in the subject.
I was curious about this Dr. Kelly Brogan and discovered she is an ardent and vocal anti-vaxxer. She has also publicly stated she believes HIV doesn’t cause AIDS. I think Brogan is also associated with Gwyneth Paltrow’s snake oil medicine show.

My bad, I only scanned the article.
I’m still glad I didn’t take ’em. Not saying no one should.

Agriculture, food, and related industries contributed $1.053 trillion to U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017, a 5.4-percent share. The output of America’s farms contributed $132.8 billion of this sum—about 1 percent of GDP.
Direct on-farm employment accounted for about 2.6 million of these jobs, or 1.3 percent of U.S. employment. Employment in agriculture- and food-related industries supported another 19.0 million jobs.I suppose you could get away with insulting all of these voters and their families as a bunch of uneducated simpletons and still get elected President.
But I wouldn’t bet on it.

The studies listed in the article speak volumes. A 50% increase in 1% of the population, with no benefit to the other 99%, and all the negatives for everybody doesn’t make for a good solution. Sugar and simple carbs are the big drivers in cholesterol production; drastically reducing intake of those two classes of food; increase water, exercise, and Omega 3 fats, and in the overwhelming majority of cases cholesterol will fall.
It should be noted that infections (low grade or full blown), injury, or stress will cause cholesterol to go up.
Less than 10% of systemic cholesterol is caused by consumption of cholesterol laden foods such as: red meat, butter, and eggs.
The body produces the cholesterol in response to inflammation, and the big culprits are mentioned above.
One should never discount the avarice of big pharma. -

I was hoping there was something there. But when I saw the anti-vaxxer stance, I’m out the door. There may be some truths among her myths, but I’m not willing to find out. Brogan has a nice, inviting website and I can see how people get sucked into it.

Here is exhibit “A” why at 64 years of age I look like an escapee from a hippie commune. Let’s see, I had nicknames like chrome dome, fender head, Dumbo, whale head among others. After about 4 months of opening up a case of whoop a** on a selected few clowns at 9 years old I was called sir. Funny how that works and that is a sure way of taking care of bullies.

This is the most alarming thing I have read in a long time.
This student is Jewish and the grandson of Holocaust survivors.
Video shows that when Louis, who is 5’6’’ and 140 pounds, arrived wearing the MAGA hat and holding a large sign, he was immediately surrounded by a hostile mob of older grad students cursing at him and calling him a white supremacist. A woman lunged from the mob and snatched Louis’s MAGA hat. Careful not to get caught on camera hitting Louis with their hands, they instead mobbed him like a colony of enraged penguins, using their bodies to push him from all sides, occasionally pecking at his head with their cardboard signs, and chanting in unison: “THE PEOPLE, UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED.”
and that is nothing compared to what next,
Although the tweets that Peller showed the Northampton cops were not directed at her and did not contain any violent threats, the police filed a criminal complaint against Louis for violating the order anyway. He was arrested in the parking lot of his synagogue, spent two nights in jail, and was released under a gag order forbidding him to post about Beth, the order, or UMass on social media.
and it gets even worse after that.
Please RTWDT. It will shock you.

The 1776 project will promote a series of essays and educational resources that provide an “aspirational and inspirational alternative” to the Times’s narrative. “People are inspired to achieve when they’re given victories that are possible, not always showering them with injuries to be avoided,” Woodson said alongside partners at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
The fatalistic narrative of the 1619 Project, which is already taught in “thousands of classrooms” across the country, according to the partnering Pulitzer Center, deprives African Americans of the agency to improve their lives, Woodson said.
“This garbage that is coming down from the scholars and writers from 1619 is most hypocritical because they don’t live in communities [that are] suffering,” he continued. “They are advocating something they don’t have to pay the penalty for.”

Funny you said 5 head. I am getting thin in the front. In fact it looks like a two lane highway with a median. I tell people I ain’t going bald just gettin more face.
And my lovely BSue never misses a chance to get a dig on me. I mentioned that I knew I could not fool nature but I could cover it up.
She, not missing a beat, replied “Oh like cat litter in the cat box”. I love that woman.
I think any male that grew up in the era I was in had two choices of hairstyle just like you mentioned, buzz and flat top. My Dad was not gonna spend the extra money for me to get a flat top, so Mom took the clippers to me every two weeks.

#13 Super Dave
Happy Birthday and many more. Hope you have a huge BD cake to last through several days.
Late to the blog thanks to some repair work being done inside the house, the largest project being replacing the attic stairs in the bedroom area hallway.
The original stairs had become less than satisfactory during the 40 years they were in, and the new ones are supposed to be much better. However the racket of installing them and a couple of other handyman things took much of the day and caused our faithful kitty Mariposa to go into deep hiding. Her supper is waiting in the usual place, so I hope she comes out soon as she missed lunch.
-
Oops. Missed it.
Happy Birfday, Bamaman. -
Saturday was the birthday of a very good friend (which I forgot), Sunday, February 16th was the yahrzeit* of my mother and Monday the anniversary of Super Dave’s hatching.
Life never stops rolling on.
* Yahrzeit in Judaism is the anniversary of the death of a loved one, especially a parent. My mother’s would actually have been Thursday, 18th of Sh’vat 5780 in the Hebrew calendar.

Should I ever make it up to the Northeast, I think I’ll invite these guys over while I’m there.

Looks like it’s gonna be Bernie:
While promoting a $127 million, three-year initiative to help minorities in the workplace in 2011, then-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared that there’s “this enormous cohort of black and Latino males” who “don’t know how to behave in the workplace” and “don’t have any prospects.”
-
Marxist DA candidate Audia Jones had gaggle of brain dead Berniebots not old enough to vote canvassing my neighborhood yesterday.
-
#57 – They’ve been working on me to vote for her and telling me that she is for real, but my concern is that she is a female. When the rubber meets the road, they always vote their feelings and not with their brain.

Besides, I’m gonna be a Bernie Bro in the primary, just to help the Dems out.

Scary indeed. A man who has a fraction of black blood can claim grievance for slavery. Warren is 128th Indian. However, a man who is at least one quarter Jew is apparently what? Apparently not Jew enough.
You link to the college fix and others at times. Most of the time I read those, laugh, and think “oh those silly young coeds.” They’ll pull their collective heads out of their azzes eventually.
Unfortunately, this abuse of the legal system to silence those with whom you disagree politically is truly bone chilling.
-
So, he’s lost the farmers and the blacks and the Latinos?
And then there’s the woman thing.
I know! The white fags will vote for him.
Oh. Wait.
