Downstairs are the resident four young adults and their three guests. Daughter and I did our duet a couple of times, and received applause. But I’ve stayed out of the way and only played one game of pool. Now, they’re cooking, and that’s fine with me. It has been an interesting evening so far. I suspect we’ll have a few… Read more »
It could prolly be photoshopped.
It does kinda match the decor, if I could just make the white background transparent.
Give it up Darren. He’s a crypto-fascist. Only they are allowed to use the force of government to impose their beliefs on others. Don’t engage him and you’ll do your blood pressure wonders.
That rug really ties this discussion together.
Speaking of Darren and his health, Darren’s bedtime is now at hand. He must retire.
Good night.
I know things like this pop up from time to time and at times they’re proven unreliable. But this is still interesting: British archaeologists are seeking to authenticate what could be a landmark discovery in the documentation of early Christianity: a trove of 70 lead codices that appear to date from the 1st century CE, which may include key clues… Read more »
Adee #103;
Thank you, Maddam. I always appreciate words of ecouragement.
I did not criticize Ms. Bachmann’s beliefs. I don’t care what she believes. You criticized her based on her beliefs. I did point out that she was using other peoples beliefs to benefit her political ambitions. She is a panderer. So now your false impression of Bachman is that she campaigns not on her own convictions regarding the gays and… Read more »
#92 Darren Please recall that this dialogue traces back directly when you dissed Michelle Bachman for nothing other than what she believes. I did not criticize Ms. Bachmann’s beliefs. What’s up with the nice rug?
Congratulations, Darren, on your new and successful lifestyle. Good health to you, and may it be your constant companion.
Don’t get me wrong. I love classic Coke. Absolutely love it. Especially a properly made fountain Coke. But since I had to quit caffeine, I only have one every once in awhile. I think I feel better overall with nearly zero caffeine in me. I do miss my strong iced tea.
Watch: Glenn Interviews 12-Year-Old Boy Genius Who Wants to Disprove Big Bang A very interesting observation Glenn makes at the end. Jacob seems like a really cool kid to me and I think his parents’ approach regarding their child’s phenomena is so dead on correct. WARNING: You do not actually see Jacob go to work following the interview. I’m bumbed… Read more »
Shannon #93; Every morning it’s the same scene. Me drinking coffee and three coworkers sitting there drinking soft drinks….and one of them is a 70 year old man. It simply blows my mind. Yup, I’m a little over half that age and I think I’m done with soft drinks. I fear if I justify drinking a soft drink once, I’ll… Read more »
Since I’m a Mormon, just let me know when God’s not looking. 😉
It could be worse, Dude, you could be some kinda electromechanical-engineer-type.
😉
You can get an ointment at Walgreen’s for that.
It’s better when you put scotch in it.
And I ain’t et one a them French creeps since I left Ohio, Shannon. As for the walking funny part, well, that’s like… your opinion man.
🙂
This would really tie the room together.

bob;
Please recall that this dialogue traces back directly when you dissed Michelle Bachman for nothing other than what she believes. The belief in question was in no doubt formulated in large part due to her strong religious convictions.
bob;
Even when the courts rule against their free practice and expression thereof?
Aren’t Atheist activists acting out in large part from their own religious beliefs?
There you go, bob. Doesn’t it feel good to understand your own religion?
Another friggin phone book delivery in the middle of the driveway tonight. Who uses phone books anymore and did you not have any other trash you could throw in my drive??
mharper; As I’m eating a chicken and cheese sandwich with mayo I’ll be glad to inform you on my dietary changes. The main differences are as follows. 1) The only soft drink I’ve ingested since my T.I.A was one time when I sipped my son’s soft drink after he begged me to taste the mixture of drinks he concocted. I… Read more »
Atheism is a belief system every bit as much as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or any other you can think of.
#82 By definition, non-theists have no belief in religion. So while Atheist acticvists are getting courts to rule the display of the Ten Commandments in courts, you’re condemning such action. You reeeeeally think their religious beliefs have nothing to do with their motivation in setting public policy? I think people should be free to believe as they wish. I do… Read more »
Darren, you haven’t reported recently on how your dietary and other changes are working out to improve your health. Nosy me: how’s that coming along?
#79 – They are up to 4 now? Back in my day, they were all, how should I put this, substandard. However, as the semester would drag on, somehow they got better looking. As semester breaks would occur, everyone would venture off campus for a couple of weeks to go back home or see the real world, and upon returning… Read more »

Pacifica/KPFT and Rice Student Radio.
I can’t imagine a better pairing.
The question remaining is where will the four straight, pretty girls on campus go?

I missed the last gathering.
Does he walk funny, too?
#74 Mharper TT, how did your plumber convention contest judging go last night? I want details! I’d rather not say. #26, et al – Last summer, the Rice administration secretly agreed to sell the student founded and run radio station, KTRU, to University of Houston for around $10 million. Ah, but don’t worry. Its just the FM Channel: With the future of KTRU as an online-only entity all but certain, many are focusing on the loss to Rice as a… Read more »

Ok, I knew about the sale of the Rice radio station, and I knew what crepes are, just couldn’t see a connection. Guess this is a way to cast scorn upon the “new food preparation facility”. Like calling Sakowitz a “haberdasher”. 🙂

Well, Al Gore and taxes make me barf, so I guess turnabout is fair play.
Exclusive: Obama authorizes secret support for Libya rebels.
HUUMM,…this reminds me of something that wadded up a bunch of liberal panties a few years back,…. what was that? Oh yeah “Iran–Contra”
According to 2010 US Census data, the top 10 most segregated cities in America are all located in
Texas and the Southin the East, Northeast and on the West Coast.Curiously, each of these cities voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and are heavily Democratic.
Rob Long writes about it here.
Salon.com has the slideshow here.
Breaking News: Former Vice President Al Gore has determined that a significant contributer to global warming may be emissions from Tedtam’s Barf Kitty, and has proposed a “barf tax” on the cat.

Well, so far Barf Kitty has kept emissions to a minimum. Some days I get lucky.
#64 The vid has been all over facebook for a few days now. The commentary was mine.
