Downstairs are the resident four young adults and their three guests. Daughter and I did our duet a couple of times, and received applause. But I’ve stayed out of the way and only played one game of pool. Now, they’re cooking, and that’s fine with me. It has been an interesting evening so far. I suspect we’ll have a few… Read more »

Give it up Darren. He’s a crypto-fascist. Only they are allowed to use the force of government to impose their beliefs on others. Don’t engage him and you’ll do your blood pressure wonders.

I know things like this pop up from time to time and at times they’re proven unreliable. But this is still interesting: British archaeologists are seeking to authenticate what could be a landmark discovery in the documentation of early Christianity: a trove of 70 lead codices that appear to date from the 1st century CE, which may include key clues… Read more »

I did not criticize Ms. Bachmann’s beliefs. I don’t care what she believes. You criticized her based on her beliefs. I did point out that she was using other peoples beliefs to benefit her political ambitions. She is a panderer. So now your false impression of Bachman is that she campaigns not on her own convictions regarding the gays and… Read more »

Don’t get me wrong. I love classic Coke. Absolutely love it. Especially a properly made fountain Coke. But since I had to quit caffeine, I only have one every once in awhile. I think I feel better overall with nearly zero caffeine in me. I do miss my strong iced tea.

Watch: Glenn Interviews 12-Year-Old Boy Genius Who Wants to Disprove Big Bang A very interesting observation Glenn makes at the end. Jacob seems like a really cool kid to me and I think his parents’ approach regarding their child’s phenomena is so dead on correct. Please recall that this dialogue traces back directly when you dissed Michelle Bachman for nothing other than what she believes. The belief in question was in no doubt formulated in large part due to her strong religious convictions.

bob;

I do not think government should promote any particular belief system, but should stay the heck out of the way and let people decide for themselves.

Even when the courts rule against their free practice and expression thereof?
Aren’t Atheist activists acting out in large part from their own religious beliefs?

By definition, non-theists have no belief ritual practices in religion.

There you go, bob. Doesn’t it feel good to understand your own religion?

Ok, I knew about the sale of the Rice radio station, and I knew what crepes are, just couldn’t see a connection. Guess this is a way to cast scorn upon the “new food preparation facility”. Like calling Sakowitz a “haberdasher”. 🙂

Former Vice President Al Gore has determined that a significant contributer to global warming may be emissions from Tedtam’s Barf Kitty, and has proposed a “barf tax” on the cat.

Well, Al Gore and taxes make me barf, so I guess turnabout is fair play.

According to 2010 US Census data, the top 10 most segregated cities in America are all located in Texas and the South in the East, Northeast and on the West Coast.
Curiously, each of these cities voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and are heavily Democratic.
Rob Long writes about it here.
Salon.com has the slideshow here.
