My #107, I just noticed the Sorghum patch that I planted behind the barn. A lot of work cutting that with a sickle bar mower, raking it up and taking it to the Hammer Mill to make sweet feed.

#92 Shannon, Percheron’s are my second favorite, behind Morgan’s. Not long ago, I envisioned getting a Morgan and an real, Amish wagon, when I retired, but now, not so much, too busy with other things. But wouldn’t that be neat.

#82 #85, I’d love to have a mule but I really don’t have a pasture for it, and I don’t really need one. I would love to have a couple of donkeys but it’s the pasture thing again. If I live long enough, I’ll hire Danny Williams to clear out the 20 acres behind the barn, since it would take… Read more »
No, unlike the West Coast, it’s bad form to reveal you’ve recognized any public person or celebrity on the East Coast. It is why so many of them leave California to live in New York. They can walk down the street or eat in a restaurant without being approached or hassled. Nobody gives a damn up here.
SS football has its hands full tonight. The Crawford Pirates, yes, the same Crawford where the Bush 43 ranch is located, and giving them a tough time. They scored a TD, the second of the year scored against SS, already, and we’re just in the 2nd quarter. I’ll update scores later cause I know you all are waiting to hear… Read more »

Squawk, thanks for the info. I’ll peruse these sites and let you know in a month or so. Interesting about the new ‘old’ film for sale. Always a market for everything.
I early voted this afternoon. My city council district H had four candidates and all of them blithering, abortion-loving “progressive” women. Gladly skipped that one. I also skipped the city controller race. Not gonna vote for Charlie McCarthy. Wouldn’t be prudent.

There’s a matched pair of mules near Washington-on-the-Brazos. Prettiest thing you ever saw. The owners would work them out on the rural roads prior to appearing in various local parades. I would park and eat lunch nearby just to look at them in the pasture. Red with white manes/tails.

Well who knew that today is the start of deer season

Well who knew that today is the start of deer season. San Saba’s two lane main street looks like the Gulf Freeway today.
