Wednesday Beautiful Open Comments

I don’t know if I’ve shared this song before, but I’ll tell ya’ – during my dark days, this was the message I needed to hear. Even now, even on my good days, this message still brings me to tears.

It applies to everyone on the Couch, too.

The days will come when you don’t have the strength
When all you hear is you’re not worth anything / Wondering if you ever could be loved
And if they truly saw your heart they’d see too much

You’re beautiful / You’re beautiful / You are made for so much more than all of this
You’re beautiful / You’re beautiful / When all you hear is you’re not worth anything

Wondering if you ever could be loved / And if they truly saw your heart they’d see too much

You’re beautiful / You’re beautiful / You are made for so much more than all of this
You’re beautiful / You’re beautiful / You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You’re beautiful

And praying that you have the heart to find
Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight
For all the lies you’ve held inside so long
And they are nothing in the shadow of the cross
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You’re beautiful

And praying that you have the heart to find
Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight
For all the lies you’ve held inside so long
And they are nothing in the shadow of the cross

I love the group MercyMe. The lead singer has a daughter with some kind of serious health issue, and his song “Even If” also brings tears to my eyes, because it sprung out of his feelings for his daughter. He has an incredible story as well, and you can find it in the movie “Imagine”.

That ring was kinda gauche, anyway.
Too thick, heavy, pierce carved James Avery yellow gold. Extremely uncomfortable.

It’s successor was (is) much better.

Christmas was coming. Payroll – including massive overtime – had to be made throughout this large project.
Except for the principals.

We worked some twenty hour days.

I was one tired, broke, and angry hombre.

All the rain you want.

I saw that this morning, I say bring it on, we could use more rain, still down about 17″ for the year. And that includes the very wet, early spring and slightly wet summer.

Good grief.  A 26 year old woman from Israel (born American) has a tiny bit of pot in her luggage and gets busted in Moscow on a layover from India.  Now an international incident ensues from this clusterf*ck. Na’ama, 26, was returning to Israel from India in April of this year, but when she changed planes in Moscow, a dog… Read more »

Yeah, we’re having a pretty good little frog strangler here.  It’s been raining hard for about 4 hours.  Where I live we don’t flood, but there are plenty of low places around here that do.  Winds aren’t due until around midnight.  It will be dry tomorrow although winds are supposed to be steady at 25 mph.

In fact, the study that originally connected nitrates with cancer risk and caused the scare in the first place has since been discredited after being subjected to a peer review. There have been major reviews of the scientific literature that found no link between nitrates or… Read more »

All those orange groves in central Florida disappeared in the 80s. Global warming caused historical and prolonged cold winters that wiped out the groves. They were replaced by lumber pines and large palm farms for landscaping.

Sounds like Holland needs to plant clover or some other common nitrogen-fixing plant, so they won’t be bothered by all that “excess” nitrogen in their air. OMG.

That’s exactly the opposite of what needs to happen. Nitrogen fixing plants make their own fertilizer.

Hamous
October 16, 2019 5:39 pm

They really shouldn’t call it a “nitrogen” crisis. The problem is nitrogen containing compounds, not nitrogen gas. Nitric oxides, nitrates, and ammonium compounds are the problem. And yes, they are essentially fertilizers in the environment. Runoff from animal farms can be a problem. In Florida back in the 70s and 80s many of the lakes were giant slime reservoirs because… Read more »
