Worth a weekend road trip, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is where I captured these turkey buzzards doing what turkey buzzards do. There are plenty of walking trails and about a 3 mile loop driving trail. the highlight for me was the 40ft observation tower where I caught the birds in flight. There is a fee to enter. As always:

It’s good to see that there are people inside CNN who want to tell the truth, and are frustrated that Jeff Zucker won’t let them. They hate Zucker’s monomaniacal focus on Trump, to the exclusion of all other news. They see the irony in Zucker catapulting Trump to stardom at NBC, giving him endless hours of free airtime on CNN during the 2016 campaign, and then trying to tear down the same guy he built up. I guess Zucker feels guilty?

Beautiful OC pics this morning, even better when you consider the subject is nothing but an ugly turkey buzzard. I have a buzzard roost somewhere near my house back in the woods, and they are always coming and going and riding the thermals on the hot days.
In other news, a surprise announcement says the OC report will be delayed – I think it was originally supposed to come out somewhere around March. Some suspect that FBI Director Christopher Wray is the uncooperative party, but the fact is that most of the Deep State is not going to be happy when TSHTF, if they ever do release the report.
A light shower this morning out here, but nothing substantive. Planning to get out of town sometime later this week, so I need to start planning the trip sometime soon. Meanwhile, you all have a great day.

The buzzards are so graceful in the air. I could watch them for hours. On the ground they remind me of politicians. Eating carrion aside I crack up knowing that when they spread their wings in the sun it for killing the mites and parasites that get on their bodies. the black feathers actually heat up enough to kill the bugs. When I see Beto go into his hey look at me epileptic movements while speaking he reminds me of vultures delousing themselves.

I have seen great full moon lunar shots taken with a cell phone and each was taken with the cell phone on a tripod. This might solve your problem. I am not sure if that remote control will work on your phone. Check with Moto i know they offer a lot of gadgets for that phone.

I heard about the expose, but mebbe I missed this story.
I’m not a ham radio operator, but some of the stuff they do has always fascinated me. Particularly when out in the wide open rural areas, in war zones, and other places where emergency communications are required to deal with incidents, the hams have always showed up and offered their services to citizens and government officials free of charge. Cell phones, the internet, satellites, etc. have replaced a lot of the need for these folks, but by gosh, when people like Bruce Ohr’s wife, Nellie, needs to talk to her Russian handler, does she use a cell phone or the internet – hell no, because all those things leave tracks and bread crumb trails behind. No, she gets herself a real old fashioned ham radio license, sets up her radio shack, and communicates at will with her handlers since government tracking is darn near impossible. So, California has always supported these hams by providing tower space for their repeaters – the hams buy all the equipment and merely utilize unusued tower space. Now Calif wants to charge the hams rental for the repeaters, basically squashing them out. Nats are going to the World Series. Let’s hope some of them are in Houston. That’s one team that I never picked to get past the Dodgers, but they did. Then they just finished off the Cards in a 4 game sweep – so much for the extra games to make extra money theory. That leaves only the Astros and the Yankees playing for the other berth. Astros are in NY for 2 more games, but there’s a good chance of a rain out tomorrow which pushes everything forward for another day, but which also changes the pitching rotation and adds an additional day of rest for the aces. It’s gonna get tense before that is over I suspect. I predicted the Astros/Yankees series to be better than the actual WS games, but I’ve become a believer that whoever the Nats play, they will show up ready to go. OK, bedtime, so night all.
I don’t really hate Facebook. It works well for me in several areas of interest. FB Groups in particular work very well for me. And — very much like this blog — I have become genuinely fond of a number of people, most of whom I’m not likely to meet in real life. I like many of my online-only friends way better than some people I do also know in real life.
