The mideast is in meltdown…Obama makes basketball picks.
Japanese passengers arrive, with a little extra glow…Obama goes to Rio.
I believe I heard that he has completed his 61st round of golf. Let’s see…he took office in January of 2009…that means he plays golf every xxx weeks (it’s too early to do math, I’m barely awake). It’s a lot.
He is famous for his basketball games. Don’t know how often each week.
And the White House staff defends his vacation time, saying he has taken less than other past presidents, but the image is that he’s taken a lot of them, and they tend to be more expensive. Bush liked to retire to Crawford. Obama likes to places like India, and then makes them bend over backward to accommodate his security needs.
And we taxpayers just keep on paying for it all. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m becoming well acquainted with my ankles.
But it’s Friday! Time to party like we’re Barak!

I’m off to take the sweet twin to school for a track meet. And take his dopplegangers to Kemah for the day. Gonna try to stop by Froberg Farms to pick strawberries for my 1st batch of preserves. It’s gonna be slim pickin’s, however.
Have a fanTABulous day!!!
ST, the T-12 fluorescent tubes will soon be gone as well.
Some of the older farts may remember this, never saw it before. Pretty funny so far..

Update from Stormy: Thanks to everyone. I should mention that inoperable in this case is because it has gone into a major artery — not that it’s all over. As far as we can tell, it’s in a small area. With so many wonderful folks praying and being there for us, this can only work out well. The power of… Read more »
http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_7162.shtml Drudge has a link to a short article on criticism of Obama from Newt Gingrich and other R’s. There are some excellent comments, including quoting this one that is bouncing around the ‘net. “The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier… Read more »

999 is 911 in the UK and many other places.
I’ll repost this on tomorrow’s thread but let’s start this now. What’s there to do for kids at the Houston Rodeo. It’ll be our first time going. For us, the freer the price the better. 🙂
You might not think that Ravi Shankar and Hank Williams Sr. would have much in common. Ravi’s daughter might not agree.
bob;
Follow along. When I said, “Good job, O’Donnell (the evil one on MSNBC)” which started this whole thing I did so so that you in particular will not confuse Lawrence with Christine. now, after a few posts, you in particular confused Lawrence with Christine. Either way, you still a freak.
#98 Sorry. My bad. I thought you meant Christine O’Donnell.
bob;
I asked you why you equated yourself with O’Donnell and you start talking about getting kinky. You a freak! 🙂
#90 If politics makes for strange bedfellows, adding religion to the mix is downright kinky.
#92 Southern Tragedy; Prayers are on the way. Do you hear from them often? If memory serves they moved, I think?
Oh and do pop in on sometimes,…we miss you. 😉

Nope — me an’ my barnacles are symbiotic.

Well, natch, since Objectivism is her philosophy. She wrote some non-fiction books but a lot of her philosophy was expressed in a newsletter back in the 70s.

Is the planning started yet for the Hamsters’ Spring Fling?
Forgive me if this has already been posted here. Please keep former LST commenters, Marc and Stormy, in your prayers.

What? I gotta remember a special emergency number if that happens? Why can’t I just call 911 !!??
bob #87;
Good for you. now, why did you try to equate yourself with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell? Personally, I don’t see the connection.
On a different note (so to speak) daughter came straight home from work, and jumped right on the piano to keep learning the version of the Wedding March for her pal’s hitching ceremony, now 8 days away. Her progress over the last few days increases my confidence that she’ll pull it off nicely. There’s still a couple of trouble spots… Read more »
The enforcement of the Equal Protection Clause, Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 in school districts is a top priority of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. Additional information is available at the Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section website at http://www.justice.gov/crt/edo/. As you can see, that’s from… Read more »
#86 Nope, I never have, and never will. Any such comparison would be invalid at multiple levels.
bob #84;
Huh? So you used to compare God to Hitler?
Wagon #76;
Good news.
#72 Darren, I ain’t goin there no more.
mharper;
Yopu gave bob about 2% higher rating on his libertarian credentials.
And, do the barnacles hurt? OUCHIE!!!
#77 mharper: I am 98% Objectivist, 2% Libertarian. I would be willing to bet a big fan of Ayn Rand as well. I, too am a fan of hers. I read Atlas Shrugged and not long ago, The Fountainhead. I did not much care for the 2 protagonists, the red haired architect, Howard Roark and the totally self absorbed daughter… Read more »

Good news on Geezer. I hope he continues to improve fore real, and not just feel good from drugs!
#75 Shannon If you like, I can direct you to any number of frugal and tightwad websites. As a matter of fact, one of my best book buys was “The Tightwad Gazette” by Amy Dacszyn (okay, the spelling may be a little off, but it’s a Czech name, and you know how they are about vowels). It’s currently sitting by… Read more »

I stand corrected.
BTW – We really must get together some time and compare craft stashes. I have the distinct feeling that your stash is bigger and better than mine, but we’ll just have to let Bobby use his imagination. 😉
#56 TT Bob, the main difference between you and mharper Thanks but hey, I don’t think you identified the main difference. I am so conservative — politically, fiscally, and even socially in many respects — that I actually have barnacles growing on my hide. My views on life, the universe, and everything have almost nothing in common with Bobbity. I… Read more »
Update on Grumpy Geezer (aka Geriatric Grizzly, my pop). Surgery went well. He’s pretty zonked out on some pharmaceutical-grade libertarian elixir (morphine).
Thanks for the prayers.
Just experienced STICKER SHOCK HELL buying a pair of Wranglers for work.
Cotton-The new gold.
Beep, beep.
#51, Dunno ’bout Bob but you just gave Big Jolly a heart attack.
bob;
btw, would you say God’s worse than Hitler?
bob;
I was using “evil” generically but since you asked I defer to Tedtam’s comment on how you are evil too.
Wagon #67;
I’m having sympathy pains right now.

BARACK OBAMA: THE WEAKEST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY? INEFFECTUAL, invisible, unable to honour pledges and now blamed for letting Gaddafi off the hook. Why Obama’s gone from ‘Yes we can’ to ‘Er, maybe we shouldn’t’… Let us cast our minds back to those remarkable days in November 2008 when the son of a Kenyan goatherd was elected to the White House.… Read more »

Not to be picky but the article was written by Paul Joseph Watson.
He is long on rhetoric short on his own facts.
This guy must
behave the biggest [posterior orifice] in the world.He couldn’t just stick with a gerbil?
Paul Joseph Watson on the Alex Jones website Infowars.com sez we’re doomed by the radiation coming over from Japan.

You mean like these?
I used think I was a smart a$$. Then I found out I wasn’t smart.

My sister has hatched six of eight baby chicks. (I know “baby chicks” is redundant, but there are here who might be confused by what type of “chicks” were hatched.) They are cute and adorable, as all baby animals are. Holding one of them sure brought back memories. When we were young, we raised a lot of animals, and we… Read more »
