Thursday Union-Busting Open Comments

The Republican State Senators in Wisconsin finally grew weary of the Democrats’ stalling and running off and hiding. They stripped the non-fiscal items from the bill they were considering and from which the Democrats were hiding. They then came up with a quick compromise with the Republican House, unified the bills, and passed legislation stripping the public sector unions of their ability to collectively bargain over anything other than wages up to increases due to CPI changes.

“The Senate Democrats have had three weeks to debate this bill and were offered repeated opportunities to come home, which they refused,” Walker said. “In order to move the state forward, I applaud the Legislature’s action today to stand up to the status quo and take a step in the right direction to balance the budget and reform government.”

Reactions from the Democrat leadership was somewhat less mature.

“In 30 minutes, 18 state Senators undid 50 years of civil rights in Wisconsin. Their disrespect for the people of Wisconsin and their rights is an outrage that will never be forgotten,” said Democratic Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller. “Tonight, 18 Senate Republicans conspired to take government away from the people.”

By “the people”, he means “public sector union members”.

Good morning my fellow Hamsteronianites!
NORTHERN JAPAN JUST GOT SLAMMED BY A HUGE 8.9 EARTHQUAKE, FOLLOWED BY A TSUNAMI.
There have been numerous 7.4+ aftershocks as well as many smaller aftershocks. The death toll could rise into the thousands. A tsunami is heading east and has already reached Hawaii and will reach our West Coast around 10 local time.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. When you have 85% of the media and 85% of academia (granted allegedly academia) voting for the Dems, that tells you that can’t expect fairness in coverage or education regarding the political views of a huge segment of our society.

Is a part of a quote from today’s o/c thread. Mark Levin just asked how collective bargaining is a civil right when federal employees do not have such a right?
