Our friends at The Economist have an interesting interactive map of the United States that compares each state’s annual production with that of a foreign country. Texas is similar in size to Russia, California to Italy, and Maine to Luxembourg.
You can also compare each state to a foreign country by population.

Squawk, I recognize a difference between personal guidance and guiding government to impose specific beliefs on others. Our association with whatever religious beliefs we might chose is voluntary, as it should be. Our associations with any level of government are not. Hence the need for a separation of the two, and that is the root of my great respect for… Read more »

Oh I dunno I guess it because on more than one occasion you have opined about public officials expressing their faith while in the office. It is that authoritah rant you embark upon that sort of clued me in.

Squawkbox, I’m surprised at this.

I see Bob thinks because a man enters into public office he should deny God.

Please show me what I’ve said today, or any other day that could lead you to such a mistaken conclusion.

Mrs. Darren just shared wiith me Oldest Daughter’s experience at school . Of course this is regarding hometheater. Although I like clean and powerful sopund ystems, I’m not into car audio. In fact many car subwoofers sound so terrible (I’m sure your son’ wasn’t) that I get nauseous hearing them blare in the wind.

I didn’t criticize his religious beliefs, I’m critical of his failure to separate them from his duties as a “statesman.” I know its hard for you to understand but you cannot turn off your faith when you’re elected to public office. That’s not how faith works. The man didn’t enact legislation requiring the citizens of Alabama to convert to Christianity.… Read more »
