I don’t usually link to Zerohedge even though I do read it regularly. Tyler Durden and the boys are little too “hair-on-fire, it’s too late now, run for your lives!!!” for me.
However, this is a subject about which I completely agree with them.
Governments and central banks around the world are colluding to eliminate all currencies and reduce citizens to making their personal and business transactions online where they can be tracked, monitored, manipulated and taxed at will by governmental agencies.
It is about stealing your liberty – a lot of it.

The unprecedented collusion between governments and central banks that occurred in 2008 led to bailouts, zero percent interest rates and quantitative easing on a scale never before seen in history. Those decisions, which were made under duress and in closed-door meetings, set the stage for this inevitable demise of paper money.
Sacrificing the stability of national currencies has been used as a way prop up failing private institutions around the globe. By kicking the can down the road yet another time, bureaucrats and bankers sealed the fate of the financial system as we know it.

    and,

In order to keep this kind of chaos from spreading like a contagion to the rest of the world, representatives are willing to do anything necessary, but this comes at a cost. Instead of having to worry about carrying around wheelbarrows full of money, the fear in a cashless society will likely stem from bank customers’ restricted access to funds. With no physical way for consumers to take possession of their wealth, the banking interests will decide how much is available.

Perhaps Hollywood has produced a movie worth seeing….

Martin Scorsese has ambushed the Oscar race with Silence, a Masterwork movie about faith and ideas that rocks everything we’ve been dealing with. Andrew Garfield may win the Oscar for best actor. But this is the Big Idea movie Hollywood has lacked for some time.
It’s strange, too, because the word out of Los Angeles on Sunday was that “Silence” was boring or something. I don’t know who those people could be who thought that. “Silence” is a meditation on theology, but it’s also a completely engrossing, absorbing movie in which Big Ideas are made accessible in dialogue and visuals to the point where I often found myself on the edge of my seat.
And that’s pretty interesting since this is faith based movie and I am neither Catholic nor Christian and don’t have a tremendous interest in Jesus. But “Silence” doesn’t require that– it’s a universal message that I think will be embraced by every intelligent moviegoer. Not only, there is some humor, and there is Scorsese violence including one scene where a man literally loses his head.

Not sure I can count on Scorsese for a good “Christian” movie based on his last attempt at the genre.

    Col. Allen West Nails. It.

Let’s review the score once again. Back in February, Josh “Not So” Earnest said ISIS had about 25,000 fighters — in total. But in August, LTG Sean MacFarland said about 45,000 enemy combatants — in other words ISIS islamic jihadists — were killed. And now we have a US military official telling us that 50,000 militants — in other words ISIS islamic jihadists — have been killed over the past two years. Then we have the same anonymous official telling us they’re not into morbid counts — so, who the hell is dead?

Now, remember that just earlier this week, Obama sat with CNN and told us that the emergence of ISIS was not on his intelligence radar screen…so, who snuck up on him, what was he doing, and how can they say they’ve killed 50,000 of something that just snuck up on them?
None of this makes any sense, but then again, this is the Land of Oz in which Barack Obama has sought to make us believe in wizards, flying houses and asked us to follow the yellow brick road. The only part of the Obama administration that resembles the famed story of Oz, is his version of the flying monkeys he unleashed on the American people — ya know, the IRS, EPA, DoJ, and other alphabet soup government agencies.

I love the clip of the witch melting, and the picture of him doubled over laughing.

The Army – Navy game is today, and the pageantry surrounding it is always fascinating. The players play D-1 football in addition to all their other military academy duties and do not get cut any slack along the way. First class people up and down the line, or at least they used to be. I just don’t know under the current regime how the academies have fared. I haven’t heard if Zero plans to appear; as Commander in Chief he normally does. I did hear that Trump will be there. Just think, if it weren’t for Trump, no one would be watching the store right now.

I’m trying to finish my latest embroidery project – almost there! I was going to try to frame it myself, but I think I’ll have time to finish it and take it to Hobby Lobby and see if I can get a price on getting it framed there.
It won’t end up being a standard size, but I’m going to see if there’s a frame with the right dimensions in their artwork first. It’ll be cheaper to take out the original item than get it custom framed. If not, I’ll suck it up and get it done right. After all the hours I’ve put into my sister’s name plaque, it would be a shame to put it into a cheap looking setting.

I’ve finished my stitching, about to head off to Hobby Lobby.
I have to be careful. For me, just walking in those doors is a near occasion of sin! 😉
Decided I’d take a quick pick at my email, got a notice from the neighborhood that someone just a few doors down from my MIL had her chihuahua mauled to death by a pack of loose dogs. That’s why I no longer walk the streets here. I was actually stalked by a loose dog one day, back when I tried to get some exercise in before going to work. That dog growled at me on one street. I could hear it, saw its eyes glowing from my flashlight, and I turned around and went around the block – and there it was again. I backtracked again, and it was waiting for me again. I tried a different route, and was finally past it. I started carrying a golf club with me, but finally just gave up walking my neighborhood.
We have a real problem with loose dogs; some are from careless owners (like our neighbors), but we get a lot “dump dogs” here. For some reason, our big lots make the weak-brained think this is a good place to deposit their unwanted pets.
When those loose dogs start roaming in packs, I get worried. A lone dog usually isn’t a huge problem, but that pack mentality means danger for small animals and kids. Some years ago, 3 pit bulls broke out of their fence and mauled a postal carrier. From what I heard, she required 81 stitches.
I love my neighborhood, but I don’t like the dog problem.

Spouse just installed our table model tree on what was my parents’ dining room table, without the leaves in. It’s the top two sections of our long-serving tree that is too large now. It’s been paid for over and over and is a lot nicer than many of the trees in the stores, unless you raid the treasury. A 30″ tree goes on a cabinet in the room we use for comfy TV watching and horse things. Decorating that one is a snap.
The biggest and hardest thing to learn every year about the Christmas season is to not obsess about all the things you think you must do. Do what you really want to without squeezing out a minute of the celebratory time it has to give. It’s December 10th and the tree is just going up. So what? Leave it up as long as you like.

Thanks for asking. Her day of infamy was Dec 20. In some ways it seems like a lifetime ago. In others, just yesterday.
She’s never fully recovered from the bar room brawl with the grill in 2014. Her balance is off, and she still hobbles around. That she even survived the liver laceration from last year’s fall is nothing short of a miracle. Had I let the local EMTs haul her to Bryan (like they tried to insist on doing) – instead of HermannKaty – she would not have survived. Those folks started transfusion before I even got to Katy and were preparing her for the helicopter ride when I walked into the ER.
(A couple months later my neighbor told me everyone within a hundred yards of my living room heard me strongly suggesting to the EMTs that she was NOT going Bryan.)
She no longer drives. Unsteady on her feet, it’s a big deal for her make it to town for a haircut or church. She still insists on making my breakfast and lunch at the crack of dawn each morning. And supper at night.
The biggest thing for the last few months has been wildly fluctuating blood pressure. Mentally, she’s doing pretty good, all things considered.
Each day she’s around is a gift from God.

Good December 11th morning Hamsters. Weather can’t decide what to do this morning apparently. I was up at 6 as usual to feed the mares, and it was 63 with sprinkles. Now it’s down to 60 with heavy ground mist forming and some clear patches of sky. We’re supposed to have a warmer interlude this week while farther north gets another Arctic blast.
The Chron this morning requires two hands to carry it, so full of ads taking up perhaps two thirds of it in a large newspaper sleeve. Fancy catalogs for Macy’s and Dillard’s compete for attention with an larger Chron tome called Luxe Life. The holiday issue filled with the finer things of life available to those with full purses intermixed with society news and people. Immediate turnoff here.
But the piece de nausea is an op-ed on p. 98 styled as an Essay entitled “No, Virginia, there isn’t” by Kyrie O’Connor in her best leftist persona slamming Santa Claus. She is obviously deeply into Trump Derangement Syndrome lunacy. Disgusting.

“Progressives” are stepping up their media indoctrination campaign. The latest is Teen Vogue.
I suppose the good news is they’re admitting they’re collectively clinically insane. The hilarious news is that they’re saying Trump made them insane by gas lighting them:

“Gas lighting” is a buzzy name for a terrifying strategy currently being used to weaken and blind the American electorate. We are collectively being treated like Bella Manningham in the 1938 Victorian thriller from which the term “gas light” takes its name. In the play, Jack terrorizes his wife Bella into questioning her reality by blaming her for mischievously misplacing household items which he systematically hides. Doubting whether her perspective can be trusted, Bella clings to a single shred of evidence: the dimming of the gas lights that accompanies the late night execution of Jack’s trickery. The wavering flame is the one thing that holds her conviction in place as she wriggles free of her captor’s control.
To gas light is to psychologically manipulate a person to the point where they question their own sanity, and that’s precisely what Trump is doing to this country. He gained traction in the election by swearing off the lies of politicians, while constantly contradicting himself, often without bothering to conceal the conflicts within his own sound bites. He lied to us over and over again, then took all accusations of his falsehoods and spun them into evidence of bias.
At the hands of Trump, facts have become interchangeable with opinions, blinding us into arguing amongst ourselves, as our very reality is called into question.

You can unsubscribe to 2 special “magazines” that the HouChron puts out per year. I guess Luxe Life must be one of them. Quite some time back, I changed my subscription to Wed and Sunday only, for the grocery flyers and the coupons mostly. I’m no longer very interested in the retail sale flyers. In general, the Harpers need to de-clutter, not buy more stuff.
Now I used to pay for the Chron a year at a time, online. This year, you can pay online for only 2 months at a time. When I saw that, I called customer support and while discussing it, found that my subscription included the 2 “magazines”, valued at $5 per. I immediately cancelled that. I never even noticed we got those, much less opened them up — they went straight to paper recycling box along with all the other glossy inserts.
Now I pay by phone, a year at a time. I see no reason to mess with paying a flat rate charge every 2 months.

I’ve always strongly agreed with Andrew Breitbart’s admonition that “politics are downstream from popular culture”. Consider the findings of this study and the effects of made for TV movies about political figures and feature films about historical events.
Combine those with the near absence of any teaching of serious history in our schools and university and you end up with a nation of ignorants slavishly consuming the fantasies and fictions of moronic inhabitants of Hollywood, the theatrical porters and jesters of the Left.

The study demonstrated that about half of individuals will come to believe a fictional event occurred if they are told about that event and then repeatedly imagine it happening.
More than 400 people participated in the study, led by professor Kimberley Wade.
The study experimented with implanting fake (but relatively harmless) memories, such as taking a childhood hot-air balloon ride, pulling a prank on a teacher, or causing trouble at a family wedding, into the minds of study participants. Researchers told them about the imaginary events as if they were real, and about 30 percent of participants appeared to “remember” it happening, even elaborating on how it occurred and describing details of what it was like. Another 23 percent showed signs of accepting the story to some degree, the researchers said.

A few years ago, I had to correct a veteran journalist/editor here when he stated as fact, and sincerely believed it to be true, that Sarah Palin said, “I can see Russia from my house.” He was adamant until we went online and I showed him proof it was a line by Tina Fey on SNL. He was actually shocked and was sure he had seen and heard Palin say this with his own eyes and ears.

Oh, I almost forgot, while watching the Chris/Mike Wallace show they had a clip of Trump and in the background was, Paul, my underwear is to tight, Bettencourt!

On Thursday night we had our annual Community Association Christmas Party @ the Villa Capri and I was asked to take a few pictures. This was the smallest party we’ve had thus far since several of the folks had prior commitments. I really didn’t miss the short fat Korean lady that always consumed all of the appetizers on two tables before everyone sat down, but that’s another story. Since I was taking the pictures, I have none of me but I did get a pretty good one of my lovely bride the “Neighborhood Nazi” with the President of the board and his wife. My wife would be the skinny one in the middle.

All this crying wolf about Russian hacking makes me think the progibdytes that are howling the loudest are nothing more than an intolerant mob of Russkiephobes.

    Ah. Just one more thing.
    Concerning Fake News.
Fake news is real, even if it’s fake or complete propaganda, as long it comes from the Fake Streamed Media.
Real news is fake, even if it’s real or completly true and factual, if it comes from alternative sources, especially from the likes of talk radio or internet news websites.
    Get it?
    Got it?
    Good.

Real news must come from real sources, but the MSM has been having a tendency lately to make stuff up to fit the narrative when they have to. This Russian hacking thing is the ultimate – there is no CIA source, there is no documentation, merely a claim by a partisan group; spread far and wide by the dems and their willing accomplices in the press. Then the claim that Trump is denouncing the intelligence agencies when he questions the claims, not of the intelligence agencies, but of the press. This story outlines the situation pretty well:
    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/12/11/the-new-york-times-and-washington-post-intelligence-sources-are-currently-under-inspector-general-investigation/
Summary – there ain’t no Russian hackers supporting Trump or anyone else.

It has everything you’d want in a bill:
    •Run by the State Department
•Plenty of money to give away
•Another secret agency run by the executive branch
with no apparent accountability or oversight
