I really appreciate the heated seats in my new Ford truck this morning. I’ve only had the truck since Sept and I already have almost 4K on the clock. The more I drive it, the more I like it. If I am real easy on the throttle, I can get better than 24mpg combined city/highway.
I find all the catterwalling about how bad Trump is doing amusing. Same personality type as Joe “The D!p$#!t” Biden smarming that the war in Iraq was lost only 2 weeks after it started. Before any judgments are made, I would like to at least see his cabinet approved by the Senate and he actually officially propose some legislation.
A good first step would be to dramatically step up border enforcement using the tools currently available.

    This figure is grossly understated:

HEADLINE: On 1 Trip, Kerry Producing As Much CO2 as Average American Does in 1 Year
(CNSNews.com) – Secretary of State John Kerry winged his way Monday from New Zealand to the Middle East on the next leg of what may be his longest trip yet, a journey during which America’s top diplomat will account for roughly 16.5 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
That’s more or less the amount of CO2 – one of the key “greenhouse gases” blamed for global warming – produced by the average American in a full year, according to World Bank data.
    /snip
Using a calculator from CarbonFootprint.com, which bases its data on conversation factors from the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and equivalent agencies in Canada, Australia and Britain, a first-class passenger flying the distance of Kerry’s current trip would be responsible for roughly 16.57 tons of CO2 emissions.

Can we be at least reasonably assured that the SofS planes are not filled anywhere near to the degree that most commercial passenger planes?
Dramatic understatement above and dramatic overstatement below:

The Antarctica visit, which included a stop at the McMurdo research station on Ross Island, was focused primarily on climate change – Kerry spoke about concerns that should a huge ice sheet break up and melt sea levels could rise by 12 feet.

The sky is falling, The sky is falling, The sky is falling, The sky is falling.
Another thing just struck me, how many tons of fuel can a 757 hold?

  4. Bonecrusher Avatar

I did some quickie searching and found the following:
a 757 can hold 11,276 gallons of fuel
    Jet A weighs 6.66 lbs/gallon
doing the math yields a total fuel load of 33.757 metric tons of fuel.

That’s because, in losing, the Democrats may finally take steps to root out the corruption in their Party, while the most corrupt in the Republican Party have been rewarded and will maintain their positions of power and influence.

    B757 fuel burn ~30,000kg/8hr
Assume Jet A-1 has avg of 12 carbons per molecule -> ~(12*12)/((12*12)+(26*1))=~85% carbon
    85% * 30,000kg = ~25,500kg carbon = ~~75,000kg CO2

I haven’t watched TV in many years except for movies and stuff on Netflix, etc. I prefer instead to listen to the radio most of the day for news, information, and commentary. After moving to the country, there is basically no terrestrial radio reception to be had, so I listen via the internet. Today I’ve had enough, at least from the 8 to 11 segment. Even CBS morning show on TV (which is the only thing I can get on my Roku) is better than Michael Berry. He’s even worse than Sarge about being critical on everything Trump. So, off with the radio and on to mowing lawns, pulling weeds, killing fire ants, and the like.

I can easily see how Trump will deliberately put people with opposing view points in his cabinet, this ensures that he will hear both sides of the issue(s) and will have a clearer perspective. Having opposing viewpoints with strong personalities under the same roof will cause sparks and it takes a particular kind of person to keep that together, Preibus is that kind of person. Time will tell how well he performs this critical function. It is not a job that I want anything to do with as I am totally unsuited to do it. They ain’t asking me neither.

    HEADLINE: MODERATE MASSACRES
Reading Andrew Scott Cooper’s The Fall of Heaven: The Pahlavis and the Final Days of Imperial Iran, I had something of a revelation. Islam isn’t at all the backwards, medieval death cult we think it is. There is indeed a “moderate majority” of Muslims. We just keep killing them all off.
    /snip
The travesty of Western intervention in Iran really must be read to be believed. We see that The Guardian uncritically took up Islamists’ claim that the Shah massacred 3,000 peaceful protesters at Jaleh Square on Sept. 8, 1978. Michel Foucault, ever the drama queen, showed up eight days later and somehow counted the dead at 4,000. But the protesters were hardly peaceful, and even the Islamic Republic later settled the number at just 88—just two more than the Pahlavi government’s estimate in the immediate aftermath. But the 3,000 figure stuck. And we see the droves of fawning journalists who followed Khomeini around like a puppy during his exile in France.

3000 killed was the battle cry and with most things from the left is was just another freaking lie. The real number was less than 90. 90 dead is bad, maybe, perhaps these were the same type of ferals that we see here looting and pillaging and rioting, er, protesting at some perceived slight which is usually way overblown and frequently blatantly false.

Democrats are rooting out their endemic corruption even as we speak…

Nearly seven years after it applied to the IRS for nonprofit status, the Albuquerque Tea Party has finally been given a decision: Denied.
The tax agency, under orders from a federal judge, is belatedly tackling the remaining tea party cases that it delayed for years, and so far the tea party isn’t doing well. Only one of the three groups in the case was approved, and the other two, including Albuquerque, got notices of proposed denials last week.
The applicants will have a chance to appeal, but the denials aren’t sitting well with the groups, whose attorney said it’s more evidence that the IRS continues to single out the tea party for abuse. “It is clear that we still have an IRS that is corrupt and incapable of self-correction,” said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel at the American Center for Law and Justice, which represented a number of tea party groups in a case against the tax agency.
The one group that was approved was Unite in Action, a Michigan-based organization that first applied for tax-exempt status more than six years ago. The Albuquerque Tea Party and Tri Cities Tea Party from Washington state were notified of proposed denials.

This is a direct rebuke in defiance of at least three federal courts who have ruled recently against the IRS on these very matters.

This is an interesting article about Giuliani by a former employee and friend.

And that’s when I first noticed a new line of attack the media was planning to use against Rudy.
Today, any time a man acts in a way that was formerly – and not too long ago – described as “manly,” he is to be portrayed as an out-of-control ranter. The media knows that Rudy is too smart and too accomplished to fall prey to the usual “dumb” label that was trotted out for Republicans like George W. Bush and Dan Quayle. And he’s too obviously working class to smack him with the “elitist” tag that doomed Mitt Romney. So the dismissal of choice for Rudy is suddenly, after decades of praise for his competence and his cool head (especially during 9-11), his supposed craziness.
Google his name with “unhinged” and you’ll see that word suddenly appearing, for the first time in a four-decade public career, right at the time that he endorsed Donald Trump.
“Rudy Giuliani gave a truly unhinged speech at the Republican National Convention” read the headline of Fusion. The New Republic wrote, “Rudy Giuliani was unhinged tonight.” “Watch Rudy Giuliani’s Shout-y, Unhinged Republican Convention Speech” read the headline of Uproxx. Salon’s headline read, “Unhinged Rudy Giuliani defends Donald Trump by pointing to Bill Clinton’s affair” while Jake Tapper accused Rudy on CNN of “an unhinged and wild accusation.” Funny how a single unusual word suddenly finds its way into so many different headlines. (It’s surely a coincidence that the media began using that word shortly after the Democratic National Committee called Trump “unhinged” in April.)

What happens to mice when they are overcrowded, yet with plenty of food to eat? They engage in self destructive behavior. Humans do the same thing, that is why the more densely populated an area the greater likelihood that they will vote D.
Lots of parallels to human behavior is described in the article. Japan and South Korea provide several case studies. I would be very interested to see how China in their mega-cities is faring in reality.

My man Dan was not a Trump enthusiast. In fact, he officially resigned from the Republican Party the day trump got the nomination. Dan’s been ardently reporting how much trouble Trump was in Utah. Although he won the state, his victory there says a lot about how unpopular he was there.

Nationally, Trump received 61 percent of the vote from members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the strongest support among any religious demographic except for Evangelicals, according to exit poll data from the Pew Research Center.
But it was a significant decline from 2012, when 78 percent of the Mormon faithful cast ballots for fellow church member Mitt Romney, and an even bigger drop from 2004, when 80 percent of LDS voters backed George W. Bush’s re-election
Mormon voters’ discomfort with Trump was even more pronounced in Utah.
According to the Utah Colleges Exit Poll, which surveyed thousands of voters, Trump managed to win support from fewer than 45 percent of Mormon voters — barely half of Romney’s performance with the voting bloc and 30 points lower than John McCain received in 2008.

The article further points out that nationally, Trump got the Mormon vote but Utah Mormons, especially the more religious ones, were anything but enthused to vote for him.

Another good one from my man Dan. I agree that the word “proves” in the title of the article is a bit assertive but this is, nevertheless, such an exciting archaeological find:

The document from the First Temple period, of which only two lines of ancient Hebrew script have survived, is a dispatch regarding a gift of wine “to Jerusalem.” The text itself reads: “[hand]maid of the king, from Na’arata, wineskins, wine, to Jerusalem.” The city of Na’arata, or Naarah is mentioned in Joshua 16:7. The gift of wine was sent either to King Manasseh, King Amon or King Josiah – who reigned during this period.
Prof. Ahituv emphasized that “not only is this papyrus the most ancient external biblical source that mentions Jerusalem in Hebrew script, but also, until now, no papyrus documents from the First Temple period have been found in the Land of Israel except one from Murabat creek.” The papyrus also draws attention to high-ranking women in the Judean administration.

    1) Trump was able to win despite widespread voter fraud.

I see the rise of the homosexual/anysexual movement, that idiot boy from the old “talk about insurance” ad, some of the latest pop artists, and I see how our society is no longer emphasizing a “manly man” but a “kinda man”. Remember the rise of the Metro-Sexuals? Part and parcel of the same phenomenon. Rampant feminism, specifically focused on eradicating masculinity, the rise of female promiscuity and necessarily fatherless households, etc. It all adds up that we, as humans, are behaving just like the rodents in the experiments. I also found it fascinating that:
    1) The end result was extinction, every time. Even though predation and food supply were of no concern and they never overpopulated the available space there was still extinction.
    2) When the proper construct of the mouse society got disrupted, it all went to schizzle. Note how diligently the lefties are trying to disrupt the successful construct of human society and how the TWO SEXES relate to each other. How can we possibly expect to have a different result?

Some happy news in this last election cycle.

    (1) Oregon’s Democratic Secretary of State went down to defeat, marking the first GOP victory in a statewide election in 14 years. More significantly, the loser of this race was known to many as the infamous bully who led the charge to fine a Christian-owned bakery $144,000 for declining to provide services to a same-sex wedding:
Avakian is the state bureaucrat who went after the business of the Christian bakers, Sweetcakes by Melissa in 2013. The owners, Melissa and Aaron Klein, refused to create a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. Though the bakery served gay customers, the couple believed that by participating in the wedding ceremony, they were condoning the marriage, which conflicted with their Christian beliefs. Avakian’s Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) went after the Kleins, resulting in them being forced to close their business. Aaron Klein tells Independent Journal Review that the state garnished their bank accounts and assets to satisfy a $135,000 fine. In all, he says, the state took $144,000 from them. Oregon political analyst Rob Kremer told Independent Journal Review that Avakian campaigned on the idea that he would use the Secretary of State’s office to further his progressive political agenda and — surprisingly — that turned off a lot of Oregon’s liberal voters.

Most of the video showed her head between the two men’s heads, and even though the men were further from the camera, it accentuated that she was borderline microcephalic. Her usually close-cropped hair accentuated what a small head she had. Her enormous shoulders accentuated what a small head she had. Any photo in which she appeared along with normal-sized heads accentuated her tiny head.
But as distracting as I found all that, it was her unrestrained liberal kookiness that made me dislike her. Really.

    Huge blow to Hollywood cronyism:

When the 2,000-page text of the deal was released in November last year—after negotiations were done in secret—the Motion Picture Association of America hailed it. “The TPP reaffirms what we have long understood—that strengthening copyright is integral to America’s creative community and to facilitating legitimate international commerce,” Chris Dodd, the MPAA chairman, said.
At one point last year, many feared the TPP would require signing companies to mandate that Internet service providers terminate accounts for Internet copyright scofflaws. That, however, never materialized. In the US, many of the top ISPs have a six-strikes consumer infringement program.
Knowledge Ecology International, which monitors international law, said the measure would have gutted provisions in American law encouraging more transparency of patents on biologic drugs. The group said infringing any patent or copyright could have become more risky and costly.
But what a difference a year makes. Following the victory of Republican Donald Trump, the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican of Kentucky, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, have said they would not bring up the TPP vote given that President Barack Obama is leaving office in January.

Do consider that Hildebeast is not the only liberal crushed by her defeat. Anybody seen her or heard anything from her supporters since the day after the defeat appearance? They and she are all in mourning, and it’s gonna last a while.
But Obama is also in disbelief and mourning, as he was counting on her to protect his legacy and keep it intact, even add to it. Now it ain’t gonna happen, and Trump’s astonishing (to them) victory is the reason. Obama and Hildebeast aren’t used to mourning, though she’s got more experience at it. He doesn’t, he’s petulant, and he’s still President until President-Elect Trump utters the final word of the Oath of Office. And we have evidence of what he does when he’s pissed, right?
So if President-Elect Trump seemed to be conciliatory toward him, and their meeting at the White House was much longer than planned, and some commentary flowed from that meeting that got conservative bloomers in a bundle, recall that The Donald knows when to hold ’em and knows when to fold ’em, knows when to humor a person. ‘Nuff said. Straighten the bloomers, wait, and watch. Dismount soapbox.

#26 Simply leaving out the link is still not in harmony with Blog Monkey Rule #5. If you cannot find a legitimate source I would appreciate you not posting it.
To wit: while I’m quite certain there are illegal aliens and dead people voting, there is no way there are 3 million. Ditto 4 million dead people. The story from infowars references a website that doesn’t exist which is redirected to a conspiracy site that rambles on and on about the “Goldman Sachs/Clinton/Bush/Diebold” cabal. Well, Trump winning pretty much squelches those conspiracies. I couldn’t find any information on the Jones claim. Every other story out there points back to his.
So, I’m asking again. PLEASE don’t push that maniac’s whacked out conspiracy theories here.

    Hamous #39;
Mormons are indeed a very close social group. In fact, I doubt you will find a more closed-knitted social group of millions of people anywhere else in the world. While no doubt McMullin’s Mormonism helped with the “very faithful” group, my personal interaction with Mormons, both who I know personally and one social media, was that Trump was seen as very unlikable. There were some who decided to never vote for Trump but most of the Mormons I know, all “very faithful”, voted for Trump.
The Mormon scholars I hang out with online, including Daniel Peterson, Matt Bowen, Bill Hamblin, and Neal Rappley, and they are all friends with the more liberal Stephen Smoot, all decided during the primaries they would never vote for Trump and when he got the nomination, they became more determined not to vote for him. When McMullin entered the race it was of great relief to them. All of them are, to my knowledge, exceot for Bowen who resides in Hawaii, Utah residents. They, all “very faithful” Mormons, did push the button for McMullin (my wife vote for Johnson since she could not remember McMullin’s name to write him in).
So, while no doubt there was some cliquishness going on, I personally experienced Mormons very determined, long before McMullin entered the race, to never vote for Trump. These are a minority group of Mormons as most i know voted for Trump and some for Hillary.

In other words, I think McMullin would have recieved the same amount of “very faithful” Mormon votes if he came into the race when he did, holding thecsame positions as he did, and was the very same person as he is, except for being Mormon but no doubt his being a Mormon did help.

When True the Vote reports it I’ll give it some credence.

I saw that and tried 9 ways to Sunday to confirm it and could not. I really wanted to be able to provide corroboration from a legitimate site and was unable to do so because it’s probably true.
There’s been a lot of things on the net, in the past week, I neglected to link to here (or anywhere for that matter) that I could not confirm and corroborate with secondary or tertiary sources.
One of the earliest posts I created as a contributor to Lone Star Times turned out to be a complete, though very convincing, fraud and a “military combat veteran” at that.
Personally, I was humiliated beyond belief for falling for such crap.
    Dayenu. Never again.

Darren – I don’t think it was taken that way but I didn’t mean “clique-ish” to be derogatory. I wish Catholics would follow the teachings of the Church and vote more as a bloc. I was encouraged that the Catholic vote was 55-45 against Clinton and her baby-killing “Catholic” running mate.
And then there’s Scary Harry. With him crawling back under his rock to ugly away, Mormon Democrats have to be getting rarer.

I think we would all like our fellow brethren to be more clique-ish in defense of our various religious principles, the Constitution, the Western canon and common decency – Mormon, Catholic, Protestant and Jew alike.

I did the same thing. It just ain’t out there. True the Vote is legit. They comb the voter registries. If they haven’t found anything of this nature chances are it doesn’t exist.

I did not take it derogatorially and, in fact, I think there may be truth to what you said. I also agree with your desire that Catholics adhire more closely to their moral standards when voting, especially when it comes to abortion.

And, yes, Harry Reid was the biggest trial of my faith for the LDS Church to remain politically neutral when it comes to political candidates. I knew rhe. And I still know now that it is the correct position fir the Church but, Harry Reid…WHAT A B*STARD!!!

Further evidence of repentant Democrats pleading for redemption in light of their past transgressions. Rooting out tendrils of corruption everywhere….

George Soros and other rich liberals who spent tens of millions of dollars trying to elect Hillary Clinton are gathering in Washington for a three-day, closed door meeting to retool the big-money left to fight back against Donald Trump.
The conference, which kicked off Sunday night at Washington’s pricey Mandarin Oriental hotel, is sponsored by the influential Democracy Alliance donor club, and will include appearances by leaders of most leading unions and liberal groups, as well as darlings of the left such as House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison, according to an agenda and other documents obtained by POLITICO.

but hey, there’s one sober guy in the room,

“The DA [Democratic Alliance] itself should be called into question,” said one Democratic strategist who has been active in the group and is attending the meeting. “You can make a very good case it’s nothing more than a social club for a handful wealthy white donors and labor union officials to drink wine and read memos, as the Democratic Party burns down around them.”

I am glad we have the police to crack down on such violence.

Michael Herrick, 40, and his beau “got into a verbal argument at their residence in regards to questions of infidelity,” according to an arrest affidavit detailing the confrontation Friday.
The 12:30 AM dispute in the couple’s Pinellas Park home turned violent when Herrick threw a cup of ramen noodles at the victim, who was struck in the neck by the noodles. Herrick, cops noted, said that “water was thrown on him” prior to his noodle tossing.
