There were several other people who bought new batteries from an online source rather than going through expensive Dell. I shall try that first, as the “reset” procedure did not work, and it looks like the pin in my adapter is still in place.
#184 Tedtam, I’d start with the battery. Depending on a lot of variables you can only expect an 18 to 24 month lifespan from them. More importantly, Windoze can only stand so many ungraceful shutdowns before it becomes a vegetable.
Crap. It looks like I may have to buy a new adaptor and/or battery for Baby Dell. It works on AC power, but if my loose cord falls out or jiggles out of place (it’s been loose for a while), my computer just shuts down. There ain’t no free lunches and there ain’t no perpetual motion machines. Fun stuff to think about though.
Iโve also seen where they take the waste from meat processing (esp. poultry) and convert to a hydrocarbon โ diesel fuel or kerosene, IIRC. You do indeed recall correctly, at least about the poultry part (the end product of TDP is pretty much light, sweet crude rather than kerosene or diesel).
